Johnathan Stubbs Eddie Krienke Eduardo Ramos I thought this video is pretty eye opening. See what you all think.
Hi KT, is this the Eddie Stubbs you are referring to?
I agree with Eddie Stubbs opening remark that there are some folks that you think won't ever die and Little Jimmy...
We pray for Little Jimmy Dickens family tonight, at age 94 he went home to Heaven. We have treasured the past 7 years performing on his portion of the Grand Ole Opry, thanks to Eddie Stubbs of WSM Radio, he recovered a few hand written notes Little Jimmy used to bring us on from the stage podium. The eleven years playing the Opry with Ricky Skaggs, a fond memory I remember, as we left the stage Mr Dickens would tell each one of us Front Burner, meaning we were cooking on the front burner tonight. I recall over the 18 plus years of being around Little Jimmy Dickens, wether you were a fan, artist or side player, he treated each of us with respect and made you feel special. We're going to miss him. Thank you for the memories and historic music. Our deepest sympathy go out to the Dickens family. Dailey & Vincent.
GEORGE HAMILTON IV and PAUL CRAFT One of the things I don't like about getting old is that more and more of my friends are leaving this world. While in Nashville recently I was driving home in my car one night listening to Eddie Stubbs on WSM and was shocked to hear him say that George Hamilton IV had had a heart attack and had passed away. I had a special place in my heart for George. In early 1978 Allen Reynolds called me up. He was making an album with George. They had recorded my song "Only The Best," and he was inviting me over to Jack's Tracks to listen to it. What a thrill it was to be in that control room listening to that mix! I'd been in Nashville less than a year. I'd known George since the time we invited him to come to the Newport Folk Festival in the late '60's. George had been one of the country artists who had made the connection with the folk revival with hits like "Abilene," "Early Morning Rain," and "Last Thing On My Mind." When I had sent him a letter inviting him to the festival and e ...

The country music legend was celebrated with a public service on Thursday, May 2. George Jones performed hundreds of times at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House -- whether on the WSM Radio show, or appearing on such shows from the auditorium like the CMA Awards, so it's only appropriate that this morning's funeral has turned out to be a farewell fit for a country king. Open to the public, fans started lining up yesterday for a chance to say farewell to the artist known as "The Possum." Famous friends who either spoke or performed during the 2 hour, 40 minutes-long service included Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless, former first lady Laura Bush and others. PHOTOS: Hollywood's Notable Deaths of 2013 WSM announcer Eddie Stubbs welcomed the crowd to the Opry House, and proceeded to introduce longtime family friend Tanya Tucker and the Imperials, who performed a beautiful version of the Gospel classic "The Old Rugged Cross," ending the performance by saying "I'm gonna miss you, Possum." Tucker ...
After having read and heard hundreds of reminiscences, reflections and all sorts of beautiful and moving words about George Jones I find it impossible to add anything original and personal that hasn't been already said. It's easy to fall into cliche' rut and political correctness. So... I'll take the risk of focusing on a less mystical/emotional aspect of Possum's death, even though I won't be original on that either, 'cause Brad Paisley and Eddie Stubbs have already touched upon it during the "Remembering Jones" ceremony at the Grand Ole Opry. Well, some young people may ask - why do we, George Jones fans, make such a big deal out of "some old timer's death"? They may ask that question out of sheer ignorance. Lost (actually imprisoned) in their disco/techno/computer game virtual world they simply don't know who George Jones was, least of all - how much he MEANT to American music. In fact, those people are oblivious of most of the CULTURAL HERITAGE AND TRADITION. Maybe it took Blake Shelton's unfortunate ...
Extremely moving ceremony for George Jones at the Opry House. Kudos to my friends Eddie Stubbs and Keith Bilbrey for their classy work.

Please keep the family of Jimmy Deason in your prayers. He passed away this morning. This is a man I have known my entire life and has always seemed like family. You would NEVER find a man (other than Eddie Stubbs) that is as knowledgeable about anything in Bluegrass music. Lincoln County has lost a great man.
Jason Joyce, I have reviewed the "Nashville" pilot and am ready to take your questions. I like it! ABC is mining interesting pockets of Americana with its evening soaps -- first the Hamptons in "Revenge," and now the Music City in "Nashville." The show's music is very good. Fine songs. The "thank God for Auto-Tune" line is a sick joke. I enjoyed spotting celebs in the Grand Ole Opry sequence -- Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs at the podium, bluegrass legend and Opry cast member Del McCoury backstage. Backstage at the Opry is just like what is shown -- lively chaos, stars and commoners mingling together. There has always been an Old Nashville association of fat cats and kingmakers like Rayna's dad, Lamar (I love that he's called Lamar). But in the old days those people turned up their noses at the music business, which they thought was made up of slicksters and hillbillies. Which it was. Then the slicksters and hillbillies took over. I like that the show is about the music business in a substantive way. Storie ...

My good deed for the day: I was leaving the CMHOF tonight after the free Wanda Jackson live interview with Eddie Stubbs. Walking along the sidewalk I walked past a car that had just parked in an empty parking spot but the meter was covered up as "No parking" (I thought to myself, doesn't he know he could be towed?). I continued up the sidewalk and saw an empty space with a parking meter not covered up. So I turned around and walked back towards the car that had just parked. As the guy was getting out of his car, I said, "Sir, there is an empty parking space up there, where you won't get towed, unlike if you park here." He asked me where it was, I told him just about 4 car spaces up. He exclaimed "Thank you!" and got back in his car. I walked up to the parking spot so he could easily see it when he drove up. As he pulled up and parked, I walked away continuing up the street with a little smile on my face and I muttered quietly to myself that I did my good deed for today. At least he'd be sure NOT ...
