In my opinion, NYC is better than LA, Great Adventure is better than Magic Mountain, and East Coast food is better than West Coast food. Still, many say CA beaches are better than the NJ Shore and then there's those who believe the Western Conference is better at hockey than the Eastern Conference. I'm trying to avoid those people but it's hard to ignore the many Devils and Flyers WC Bandwagon fans who are enjoying the Stanley Cup Playoffs more than we fans.

Big story: The winner of this Metropolitan Division showdown will still have a chance to challenge for a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs; the Capitals enter play four points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and one point ahead of the Devils. The Capitals have lost four straight (0-2-2) and the Devils fell to 0-11 in shootouts when they lost 3-2 to the Buffalo Sabres in a nine-round tiebreaker on Tuesday. Ottawa won the last meeting, 2-1 at Canadian Tire Centre on Dec. 12. Big story: The Senators enter the game one point out of a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference and can't afford to lose to the 30th-place Sabres at home. They're back home and trying to build on one of their best wins of the season, a come-from-behind 5-4 shootout victory against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Team Scope: Sabres: Coach Ted Nolan knows his team isn't going to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Sabres are last in the overall standings and were beaten soundly by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, allowing five unanswered goals in a 5-1 home loss. Goaltending, scoring could have Leafs in contention (Ottawa Senators) (Source: Ottawa Senators) With only one-third of the Toronto Maple Leafs' season in the books, it's still too early to start making plans for playoff hockey at Air Canada Centre. The discussion phase, however, has begun as the Leafs appear to be charting a course to the postseason, which would be their first participation in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in nine years. Toronto has won six of its past seven games to become one of just five teams in the NHL with at least 10 wins so far this season. The Leafs' 20 points put them in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind the Montreal Canadiens for first in the Northeast Division, heading into their game Tuesday in Tampa,... ~SportsMan
WOW! Did i call this one wrong. I expected a New York Rangers vs. Los Angeles Kings finals in the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the New Jersey Devils won the Eastern Conference so now the LA Kings will be facing-off against them for the championship. L.A. has not been in a race for the cup since 1993 when they lost to Montreal Canadians, the same year i moved from there to Houston, so i would love to see them take it from the Devils. GO KINGS!!!

The Rangers are thus guaranteed home-ice advantage for the first three rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs which begin next week. The win also gave the Rangers a six-game season series sweep over their bitter rivals, the Flyers. The Blue-shirts outscored Philly 24-11 over the six-game sweep. The victory also clinched the Rangers fourth division title since the 1967 expansion from the Original Six. Ryan McDonagh, Brian Boyle, Artem Anisimov, and Ryan Callahan all scored in the first period as the Rangers raced out to a 4-0 lead against beleagured Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who was playing for the first time in four games after suffering a chipped bone in his foot.
