Eastern Conference & Paul Pierce

The Eastern Conference is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Paul Anthony Pierce (born October 13, 1977), nicknamed The Truth, is an American professional basketball forward with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). 5.0/5

I have seen Paul Pierce out-play Lebron a couple of times in the eastern conference playoffs. I forget which year it was. Peace.
when Paul Pierce asked to guard LeBron in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals and LeBron dropped 49 on him lol
Paul Pierce going to the Wizards! I smell a Celtics/Wizards Eastern Conference Finals! Off to buy my Pierce Wizards jersey, just hope it doesn't break me out in a rash! LOL
Paul Pierce has signed with the Washington Wizards, look out NBA fans you are gonna look up one day and its gonna be the Wizards (legitimate contenders) fighting for the Eastern Conference title

Woah, Paul Pierce to the Wizards came out of nowhere. Next year's going to be fun in the Eastern Conference.
To be completely honest... I really like Paul Pierce to the Wizards! Eastern Conference Contenders
Paul Pierce is now a Has the power of the Eastern Conference finally…
On some level, it's felt inevitable ever since the Brooklyn Nets traded for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, and now it's here: a matchup with the NBA champion Miami Heat. Can the Nets carry their regular-season success against Miami into the playoffs, or will the Heat march on to their fourth straight Eastern Conference Finals?
With the Nets going and getting Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett they will be huge contenders in the Eastern Conference this y…
AS GARNETT GOES SO DO THE NETS The Brooklyn Nets a team many considered a contender for the NBA Championship are currently at 3-6 and sitting towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference. With the starting five all former all stars and three players and the coach having championship rings in Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry and the coach Jason Kidd, and with a payroll in excess of 100 million dollars and at about 180 million dollars once the luxury tax is factored in. this team on paper at least should be comfortably sitting in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. To put it into perspective the Nets currently sit 14th in the Eastern Conference while the Charlotte Bobcats sit 6th in the Eastern Conference. After watching a few Nets games on ESPN I think a big factor in the Nets struggles is Kevin Garnett who just doesn’t seem to have much rhythm when he is out on the floor. With Garnett being one of the oldest players in the league his minutes were always going to be limited at some point in th ...
The Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks have identical records at 3-6. These are the teams that were to have been contending for their division and challenge the Miami Heat for the Eastern Conference. Of course, everyone would tell you it is too early to panic, after all the season is only 9 games old. However, both teams have displayed some disturbing trends. The Nets have problems winning on the road and the Knicks can't seem to win at home. Both teams seemed to have been out coached in each of their losses. Both teams have new players that seem to be unable to fit into their team's plans. In the case of the Brooklyn Nets, both Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have been unable to play the roles the team thought they were capable of when they were acquired. Despite all of the fanfare and the talks of winning a championship, although they beat the Heat in their first meeting this season, the Nets continue to have problems beating teams they are supposed to beat. Brook Lopez seems to be playing well, but t ...
The Clippers believe that they have the trade assets to reunite Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in L.A. if those prominent members of the Celtics all prove open or able to leave the perennial Eastern Conference power, according to sources.
The Celtics defeated the Utah Jazz last night 110-107 in yet another overtime game. The captain Paul Pierce led the way with 26, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Bradley stepped up big time on the offensive end with 18, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lee stepped up as well with 14, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bass is another guy that stepped up on the offensive end with 15 points, going 7-7 from the free throw line. KG had 13 and 9 boards. Jason Terry led the bench with 14. Green had 6. Wilcox had 2. Crawford had 2. The Celtics have a below average road trip going 2-3. The C's have a staggering 10-18 record on the road. If they want to make a deep run in the playoffs (which they certainly can because the Eastern Conference doesn't have a legitimate championship contender aside from Miami and Chicago with a healthy Derrick Rose), they are going to have to fix their road woes. The Celtics will return home to take on the Golden State Warriors this Friday. Tipoff is at 7:30. On Comcast Sportsnet and WEEI radio. C's!
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett took over in overtime, as the Boston Celtics outlasted the Utah Jazz 110-107. The Celtics' veteran leaders combined for 11 of Boston's 13 points in the extra period, and that proved to be the difference. They were dominant offensively, getting good looks that they just couldn't miss. Utah used a 25-point fourth quarter to overcome a sizable deficit and force overtime, but from there, there was no stopping the Celtics. Boston was playing the final game of their five-game West Coast road trip and got to go home on a high note. Pierce led Boston with 26 points, including seven in overtime. The Celtics placed six players in double figures as well. Gordon Hayward provided the punch off the bench for Utah, getting 26 points of his own. The win pushes the Celtics to 30-27 on the season and to within 2.5 games of the Chicago Bulls and the No. 6 spot in the Eastern Conference. Utah falls to 31-26, but holds steady to their spot as the No. 7 seed in the West. Let's hit the Bleacher Rep ...

BOSTON (AP) A double-overtime victory against Lebron James and the defending NBA champions was difficult to celebrate for Paul Pierce and the Celtics. ALL IS LOST Rajon Rondo's injury means you can count out the Celtics, NESN says. News of Rajon Rondo's season-ending knee injury spoiled the party. ''Everyone was really happy for the win,'' Pierce said after Boston beat the Miami Heat 100-98 Sunday. ''It brought a dark cloud in this room when you heard the news.'' When coach Doc Rivers told his players after the game, the joy of ending their six-game losing streak stopped, even if they had just outlasted the team with the best record in the Eastern Conference, which came in with a four-game winning streak. Now the Celtics must try to keep winning without their leader, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee late in Friday night's 123-112 loss, also in double overtime, in Atlanta. They won Sunday after Pierce's 22-foot jumper with 31 seconds left gave them a 99-98 lead. But making t ...
2013 NBA ALL-STAR RESERVES ANNOUNCED In the Western Conference, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden were the guards selected, and big men Tim Duncan, Zach Randolph, LaMarcus Aldridge, and David Lee were the ones seen as most deserving. Notable names absent are Stephen Curry, Marc Gasol, Jamal Crawford, and Serge Ibaka, with Curry having the best case of those left off the list. In the Eastern Conference, Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Jrue Holiday, Tyson Chandler, and Joakim Noah all will be making their first career All-Star appearance. Chris Bosh and Luol Deng round out the roster. The players who were in the conversation in the East but who were ultimately left out include Brook Lopez, Paul Pierce, Carlos Boozer, Brandon Jennings, and J.R. Smith.
If you watched the Eastern Conference Finals last year and nothing else, you'd think Rondo was the league's second-best player and that the Celtics' "Big Three" referred to the numbers in Rondo's points, rebounds and assists columns. His 20.9 points, 11.3 assists, 6.9 rebounds and 49 percent shooting against Miami left the Celtics just one win away from a shocking Finals appearance. So why, exactly, can't we expect similar production from Rondo throughout this upcoming season? We've heard others say Rondo's focus tends to drift when the games aren't as critical. But with Ray Allen gone, Paul Pierce losing some of his scoring touch and Kevin Garnett always a medical mystery, Rondo might just be the star in Boston. If he responds to that responsibility and puts up numbers similar to his playoff averages (17.3 points, 11.9 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 47 percent shooting), not only will the Celtics be threatening to come out of the East again, but Rondo will be legitimately in the mix for MVP. The question is, ...
R U SERIOUS?... of all teams??? I know you're LOVING this JW...lol... Ray Allen Accepts Offer From Heat worth about $3 million a year on a 3 year contract.its the end of the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Allen, who joined forces in 2007 and won an NBA title in 2008, lost in the seventh game of the 2010 Finals, and reached the Eastern Conference Finals just this year against the Heat. In 358 regular-season games with the Celtics, Allen averaged 16.7 points and 798 3-pointers. His best season with the Celtics was 2008-09, when he averaged 18.2 points. - What a loss Boston... :(
Despite the hiccup early in the Eastern Conference Finals, Allen can still deliver a jump shot sweeter than a jar of honey. And that's why the Celtics will try to get him to sign on again for another sequel to "Grumpy Old Men" if Kevin Garnett chooses not to retire. It was an inspiring run by the Green Machine through the playoffs. But can anyone really bank on the creaking Allen, K.G. and Paul Pierce to stay healthy for another full season and one more try? The softer spot for Allen is as the designated shooter in Miami, where Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh carry the load and get him all the wide open 3-point looks that a guy can want.
When they all flew out of Oklahoma City on Feb. 23, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo headed to the All-Star Game and the rest for a weekend of soul searching, no one was thinking about Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics were two games under .500, and even making the playoffs was sort...
"1) I criticized Lebron James for walking off the court in 2009 when the Magic won the Eastern Conference Finals. I criticize Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo for doing the same Saturday night. I know all the talk about them being warriors and blah, blah, blah. They're not warriors. People who fight in wars are warriors. They're basketball players. And it isn't too much to ask them to stay on the court for 30 seconds to congratulate the team that beat them. Doc Rivers did. Ray Allen did. Paul Pierce did. Garnett and Rondo should have, too." - David Alridge
MIAMI -- A week ago, the Boston Celtics were too old. Three games later, they're one victory away from the NBA Finals. And Miami -- the team that was constructed with hopes of supplanting Boston as the power in the Eastern Conference -- is suddenly in big trouble. Kevin Garnett finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds, Paul Pierce scored 19 -- including a huge 3-pointer over Lebron James' outstretched arm with 52.9 seconds left -- and the Celtics beat the Heat 94-90 on Tuesday night, taking a 3-2 lead in the East finals that now shift to Boston for Game 6 on Thursday night. "We've done nothing," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "We're playing a heck of a basketball team. So just because we're going to Boston, I told them, we have to play. They're not going to give it to us. We have to go get it." James finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds for Miami, though he went 8 minutes without scoring in the final quarter. Dwyane Wade scored 27 for the Heat, who got no more than nine from anyone else. "We wouldn't wa ...
Paul Pierce drilled a huge 3-pointer with 52.9 seconds remaining and Kevin Garnett poured in 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Celtics to a 94-90 win over the Heat in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals Tuesday night at American Airlines Arena in Miami. Pierce, who was just 5-for-18 before his clutch shot, finished with 19 points for the Celtics, who won their third straight in the series and now are on the brink of the NBA finals for the third time in five years. They can advance there with a win on their home court Thursday night in Game 6.
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Paul Pierce and Lebron James fouled out in overtime, but the Boston Celtics still had Rajon Rondo and the Miami Heat still had Dwyane Wade. Rondo scored the go-ahead bucket and Wade missed a three-pointer at the buzzer Sunday night, giving the Celtics a 93-91 win and tying the Eastern Conference Finals at two games apiece. The game went to overtime only after Miami came back from an 18-point deficit in the first half, when Pierce was knocking down shots, Ray Allen was hitting three-pointers and Rondo was dissecting the defense with sharp passes. Even Keyon Dooling got in on the act. Indeed, all was right with the Celtics until the end of third quarter when the Heat started to make a run to turn a lopsided game into a dog fight. James hit a tying three-pointer in the final minute of regulation in front of a stunned TD Garden crowd, but also passed on the final possession to Udonis Haslem, who missed a jumper. In the end, Boston emerged with its second straight win and will hea ...
Paul Pierce scored 23 points as the Boston levelled their Eastern Conference final series with the Miami Heat.
This is exciting news: Referee assignment for Game 1 MIAMI -- Tonight's officials for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals: Dan Crawford, Ed Malloy, Jason Phillips (alternate: Bill Spooner) It's almost an identical crew to the one that worked Game 1 of Celtics-Heat last year in the conference semifinals when Paul Pierce got ejected by Malloy for two technicals in the span of 59 seconds.
Paul Pierce usually thrives in situations like last night's Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Of all the players that 76ers forward Andre Iguodala has to guard, few offer more of a physical challenge as Boston’s Paul Pierce. With the deciding Game 7 of the teams’ Eastern Conference semifinal series being staged Saturday at Boston’s TD Garden, the Sixers will likely need to...
The franchise returned to prominence during the 2007–2008 season when Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce as the new "Big Three," leading the team to its 17th championship in 2008 and an Eastern Conference title in 2010. The Celtics have met the Lakers a record 12 times in the NBA Finals, including their most recent appearances in 2008 and 2010, with the Celtics winning nine and Lakers winning three. Laterin 2010, the team made a remarkable comeback with point guard Rajon Rondo developing into a perennial all-star and having an outstanding performance throughout the season, bringing Celtics to higher record. Four Celtics (Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, Dave Cowens and Larry Bird) have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for an NBA record total of 10 MVP awards. [3] Their mascot 'Lucky the Leprechaun' is an ode to the team's Irish heritage. [4] MasNa! Miherma! Kapish! ;-P
The Boston Celtics took back home-court advantage with a stirring 107-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3 Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Kevin Garnett scored 27 points and swept 13 rebounds while Paul Pierce had 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Celtics went up 2-1 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals. Mickael Pietrus scored 13 points off the bench and Brandon Bass added 10.

Then it was Dr. J vs Larry Bird, Andrew "the boston strangler" Tony vs Dennis Johnson and Bobby Jones vs Cedric Maxwell. Now its Jrue Holliday vs Rajon Rondo, Andre Iguadola vs Paul Pierce and Evan Turner vs Ray Allen. The names have changed but its still the best rivalry in the Eastern Conference, Sixers vs Celtics. We bout to shock the world.
ATLANTA -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he expects all of his players to be available for Tuesday's Game 5 in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics are dealing with nagging injuries to Paul Pierce (left knee), Ray Allen (right ankle), and Avery Bradley (left shoulder), but Rivers said he anticipates them all in their normal roles, with a chance to close out the Hawks at Philips Arena.
Paul Pierce was the highest power in high tops at Philips Arena during the Boston Celtics' 87-80 win over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal. But after sinking a key free throw in the fourth quarter, Pierce dropped to knee at half court, seemingly to pay homage to a...
