Free Play from Stephen Nover New York Knicks vs. New Orleans Pelicans Play: New York Knicks +4 New Orleans had been playing well going into All-Star break winning eight of its last 13. And ordinarily I would like to play on a Western Conference club against a weak Eastern Conference foe, but circumstances are different here. The Knicks played last night. They rallied from an 18-point deficit before blowing a seven-point fourth quarter lead in a 98-93 road loss to Memphis. That was a frustrating loss for New York as the pressure mounts on Mike Woodson and Carmelo Anthony. But the Knicks didn't quit and now have the rust off. They also step down in class. The Grizzlies are 6 1/2 games better than New Orleans and have been playing extremely well winning 10 of their last 13. The Pelicans last played a week ago. That's way too long of a period to sit around in today's NBA. New Orleans doesn't have great incentive either playing in the much more difficult conference where it is 7 1/2 games out of the final play ...
John Michael`s a.k.a. The Ch1cken D1nner`s FREE SPORTS INFORMATION for the 2013-2014 NBA Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference: New York Knicks Preview My Prediction 67-15 Eastern Conference Champions Mike Woodson my pick to win Coach of the Year now entering his 9th season 8th full season as a head coach and though he has yet to break the .500 mark in wins as a head coach he is coming off of his fourth straight winning season 3 of which were full seasons and currently holds a record of 278-320 which is 46% I believe this will be the year he does become a winning coach. Let us remember that Mike Woodson was an assistant coach for the 2003-2004 Detroit Pistons team that won the NBA Finals behind the best team defense I have ever seen, and if you think for one second that he has forgotten what the great Larry Brown and he were able to accomplish with disciplined team defense you had better dig up some film and take notes. Ron Artest or keeping the peace has made his way back to the state he started hi ...
Erik Spoelstra's crap, Mike Woodson and Tom Thibodeau are both much better Eastern Conference coaches.

Of the four conference semifinals matchups, Knicks/Pacers is the one we've seen coming for the longest. Since at least December, the Eastern Conference has been split into two groups:
Some are willing to give Iman Shumpert's poor play a pass since he's still nowhere near the player he was last year following his torn ACL, but the Knicks need him to regain his form quickly if they're to be a real contender in the Eastern Conference race
Heat fans look what Mike Woodson the head coach for the New York Knicks had to say about the Miami Heat CONCESSION SPEECH: Yes, the New York Knicks are up 2-0 in the season series, in position to clinch the tiebreaker, but with a four-game deficit at the All-Star break, Coach Mike Woodson appears to be placing a greater priority on winning the Atlantic Division than hunting down the Heat for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. "I can't worry about LeBron and Miami," Woodson told reporters. "I've got to really focus in on what we're doing. First and foremost we've got to stay at the top of our division and then after that, whatever happens, happens. They're not going to quit playing. They're the world champions. They figured it out last year. We're trying to get where they were last year. I can't see them tailing off by any means."
The head coach of the Eastern Conference for the All Star Game could be Erik Spoelstra (MIA) or Mike Woodson (NYK)
to Coach Mike Woodson!! season record: 26-14. 2nd place in the NBA Eastern Conference.
Basketball Without Anthony, Knicks crush Heat in Miami The Miami Heat suffered their worst home defeat of the 'Big Three' era as the defending NBA champions crashed to a 112-92 loss to a New York Knicks team without their star forward Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks have sole leadership of the Eastern Conference with a 14-4 record, ahead of the Heat who slip to 12-5, having also lost by 20 points to the Knicks in New York on November 2. Raymond Felton top-scored for New York with 27 points, including six of 10 on three-point throws, as the Knicks flourished despite the absence of Anthony, who has an injured finger on his non-shooting left hand. "It was a total team effort from everyone that played," said Knicks head Coach Mike Woodson. "Across the board I think our defence was solid for 48 minutes. I thought offensively our flow was good and guys made shots." For the Heat, Lebron James put up 31 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists but it was a quiet night for Dwyane Wade, who was three-of-13 from the fie ...
Raymond Felton Wants to Keep Playing Despite Thumb Injury New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton is suffering through a bruised left thumb, but that may not keep him out of the lineup. Per the NY Post: “The tough-as-nails point guard is nursing a badly bruised left thumb suffered in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Suns. But Felton’s friends expect him out there tomorrow night when the Knicks visit the surprising Bobcats, led by former St. John’s coach Mike Dunlap. It’s an intriguing trip for the Knicks, who face Miami on Thursday in the second night of a back-to-back before Saturday’s showdown in Chicago against another Eastern Conference title contender. How the ailing Felton and 39-year-old Jason Kidd hold up will be the key to the three-game trip as Knicks Coach Mike Woodson faces a point-guard muddle. Felton is officially listed by the Knicks as day-to-day, but logic goes out the window when Felton visits the Tobacco Road region. Felton played his first five seasons with Ch ...
Yesterday the NBA handed out monthly awards, honoring each conference’s respective head coach of the month. Lionel Hollins of the Memphis Grizzlies won the Western Conference’s, and to the surprise of some, Avery Johnson of the Brooklyn Nets took the award for the Eastern Conference. Of course, thes...
(Sports Network) - The New York Knicks extended their season but lost another player in the process. Now, New York must take on the unenviable task of trying to stave off elimination again by beating the star-studded Miami Heat, this time in South Beach. With his team on the brink Sunday, Carmelo Anthony poured in 41 points as the Knicks defeated the Heat, 89-87, in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal matchup at Madison Square Garden. Amare Stoudemire, who missed Game 3 with an injured left hand which he suffered when he punched a fire extinguisher after a loss in Game 2, returned to the lineup and scored 20 points and grabbed 10 boards to help the Knicks earn their first playoff victory in over a decade. "We needed a big game out of both of those guys to get over the hump," said Knicks head Coach Mike Woodson about Anthony and Stoudemire. "Now we got this monkey off our back and we're still playing." The Knicks had lost an NBA-record 13 straight consecutive playoff games, dating back to April ...
The tale of the Eastern Conference 7th and 8th seeds. Is Doug Collins and the 76ers not looking like geniuses right now. They wanted the Bulls all along, and never did they imagine they would get them without Rose and now possibly Noah. On the other hand, is Mike Woodson and the Knicks not looking like complete dummies. They had the audacity to want to play the Heat. Point being: In life PLAYING the “TUFF GUY” role can really get you FUP!!
THE FACTS: The Miami Heat defeated the New York Knicks 104-94 Monday to take a 2-0 lead in their first round series in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Guard Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 25 points while forward Chris Bosh added 21. Forward Lebron James finished with 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. The Heat for the second straight game broke free in the second quarter behind Wade. Miami had six players in double-figures, including Mario Chalmers (13 points), and Mike Miller and Shane Battier, who each had 11. The Knicks got 30 points from forward Carmelo Anthony, but he shot just 12-of-26 from the field. Forward Amar's Stoudemire added 18 points and seven rebounds. Stoudemire was tended to by paramedics after the game after he reportedly punched the glass enclosure around a fire extinguisher. Head Coach Mike Woodson did not comment on the situation.
