Can I go ahead and say I hope the Atlanta Hawks go to Seattle so the Grizz can move to the Eastern Conference?
Your Atlanta Hawks are about to tip off against the Utah Jazz. Aside from Georgia Tech Football, it's Atlanta's winningest team. 23-8, 1/2 game out of the NBA Eastern Conference lead. Go Hawks.
How 'bout those Atlanta Hawks? . in the Southeast Division. . in the entire Eastern Conference.
Roy Hibbert's 13-point, seven-rebound effort in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Atlanta Hawks feels like a distant memory following another disastrous outing to open up the Indiana Pacers' second-round series with the Washington Wizards. In the 102-96 Game 1 loss,...
Go Pacers today: NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs Round One, Indiana Pacers at Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta Hawks lead series 2-1, sure hoping these clowns can win a road game and not head back home facing elimination. Not feeling the confidence but go pacers today!
In the Eastern Conference, the Indiana Pacers are now down 2-1 in the series against the Atlanta Hawks.
Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, and Patrick Ewing were just a few players that were around when the Eastern Conference meant something!!! I look at today's Eastern Conference and it is a straight JOKE!!! You try to compare Lebron to Jordan??? Look at who he's playing!!! Lebron been in the Eastern Conference his entire career and just started winning championship a few years ago!!! Look at who's in the conference with Miami: Orlando (without Dwight Howard), Atlanta Hawks (without Joe Johnson or Dominique Wilkins), Charlotte Bobcats (without Larry Johnson or Alonzo Mourning) and the Washington Wizards (without C. Webb)... So again who is elite amongst those teams??? I even look at old powerhouses like the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons!!! They are not the same as they were 5-10 years ago... So again who does Lebron have to play in this weak conference??? Everyone that knows me know that I'm an anti Laker person!!! One thing I'll give Kobe over Lebron is at least Kobe were playin ...
PREDICTION: The Indiana Pacers have won the NBA Eastern Conference and home court advantage throughout the Eastern conference playoffs with the win against OKC today. Miami lost their chance against the Atlanta Hawks last night. Indiana will win their next game and even if Miami wins their next two (which I doubt they will) and end with the same record as Indiana, they will end with the tie breaker going to the Pacers. On to the playoffs!
Hawks top Heat 98-85, get East’s last playoff spot (AP) Jeff Teague scored 25 points, Lou Williams had 18 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and the Atlanta Hawks earned the Eastern Conference’s final playoff spot with a 98-85 victory over the Miami Heat on Saturday night. Atlanta’s third straight victory eliminated the New York Knicks from playoff contention. Williams scored the Hawks’ last 12 points. LeBron James finished with 27 points and Dwyane Wade, in his first game since missing nine straight with a sore left hamstring, scored 24 for Miami. The two-time defending champion Heat, who have lost three of four, gave up the ground they gained in the standings Friday by beating Indiana at home and taking a one-half game lead over the Pacers. Miami and Indiana are now tied atop the Eastern Conference with 54-26 records. The Heat’s 85 points were their third-fewest this season. James and Chris Bosh returned to the floor with 6:42 remaining and Miami trailing 81-72, but Demarre Carroll stole t ...

The NBA is going to have to do something about their playoff situation. You have Eastern Conference teams with a 34-43 record (Atlanta Hawks) currently grabbing the 8th and final spot, yet you have teams like the Memphis Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns out west possibly going home for the summer despite having a very respectable 45-32 and 46-31 record (respectively). That's not fair, and it's not good for the game IMO. The best teams should play for a championship.
New York Knicks just moved past Atlanta Hawks for 8th spot in Eastern conference
Atlanta Hawks only a game up for final playoff spot in diluted Eastern Conference - I don't do negative journalist work, so my pen is still.
The Phoenix Suns are 41-29 and currently a half game out of the Western Conference playoffs. However, they have a better record than all but two teams in the Eastern Conference. They are obviously one of the 16 best teams in the NBA, but there’s a good chance they will fail to make the playoffs. Meanwhile, there’s a very good chance the Atlanta Hawks, who are six games under .500 and not a top-16 team, will make the playoffs. If the NBA went to straight seeding, regardless of divisions and conferences, this is what the playoff bracket would look like if the season ended today; the 16 most successful teams are in, the 14 least successful teams are out.
After falling to the Orlando Magic on Friday night, the New York Knicks (21-34) are looking to win the season series with the Atlanta Hawks (25-29) as the two Eastern Conference foes clash at Philips Arena. Keep it locked here on Bleacher Report throughout the game for real-time updates,...
For all you NBA fans, very strange year shaping up, Atlanta Hawks are currently 4th in the Eastern Conference, after losing their best player, Al Horford to a torn pectoral muscle, but their record is only good for 10th in the Western Conference.

BOSTON – Celtics star Rajon Rondo tore the ACL in his right knee and will be lost for the season. It is possible that Rondo could return for the start of the 2013-'14 season, but a timetable for his return won't be clear until after his surgery. Rondo injured the knee in Friday's double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks, where he had delivered his second consecutive triple-double. He was scratched from the Celtics-Heat game on Sunday with what the team termed a "hyperextended right knee." MRI results Sunday afternoon confirmed the Celtics' worst fears. Even with Rondo in the lineup, the Celtics had lost six consecutive games and dropped to 20-23 and into the eight spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Boston could miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2006-'07 season, prior to the arrival of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in what turned out to be a championship season in 07-'08. Rondo was voted to the Eastern Conference's All-Star starting team, but commissioner David Stern will now choose ...
Shoutout to the Atlanta Hawks as they are in the Eastern Conference. Some people, including myself thought they wouldn't make the playoffs this year because of the loss of Joe Johnson but I totally forgot about Al Horford who's leading the team in points and rebounds averaging 16.6 ppg and 9.6 rpg. Plus they are the deepest team at the point guard position with Jeff Teague, Devin Harris, and Lou Williams (Combo Guard). They've surprised me this year with impressive wins over the Thunder and the Clippers. Hats off to the Hawks. -Watts

Hello Dwight Howard? just promise me next season when I tune in to watch the "Highlight Factory" and a mid-seed Eastern Conference Playoff spot that my Hawks will still be there.

My old school team the Philadelphia 76ers got it done against my Eastern Conference arch rivals Boston Celtics and it felt very good especially since our home team is passing popcorn and liquid refreshments (Atlanta Hawks). Old school is still in while home town is out:)

Al Horford scored 19 points in his first start since January, and the Atlanta Hawks held on for an 87-86 victory over the Boston Celtics in a thrilling Game 5 of the Eastern Conference playoffs Tuesday night.
ATLANTA -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he expects all of his players to be available for Tuesday's Game 5 in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics are dealing with nagging injuries to Paul Pierce (left knee), Ray Allen (right ankle), and Avery Bradley (left shoulder), but Rivers said he anticipates them all in their normal roles, with a chance to close out the Hawks at Philips Arena.
Paul Pierce was the highest power in high tops at Philips Arena during the Boston Celtics' 87-80 win over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal. But after sinking a key free throw in the fourth quarter, Pierce dropped to knee at half court, seemingly to pay homage to a...

wow i can't remember the last time the top 8 seeds in the Eastern Conference ended up with a winning record! alright it's really screwed up that the Atlanta Hawks will have home court advantage in the 1st round. what the *** was the point for the Celtics winning the division then?!

Are the Hawks and Pacers for real? Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers | Comments Led by Danny Granger, the Pacers have scored 107.8 points per 100 possessions in their last 20 games, a scoring rate that would lead the league over the full season. (Ron Hoskins/NBAE via Getty Images) The season in the Eastern Conference began with two superpowers and a bunch of other teams whose absolute playoff ceiling seemed to be hosting, and probably losing, a Game 6 against the Bulls or Heat. But Miami’s recent listless play and the endless series of nagging injuries to Derrick Rose (and to a lesser extent, Luol Deng) have thrown a monkey wrench into that assumed scenario, and the discussion of which Eastern Conference teams might break up Miami-Chicago party has focused on the surging Celtics and Knicks. It has not focused on two other teams quietly peaking at the right time: Indiana and Atlanta, the latter a conference semifinalist for three straight seasons and the other a team that has proven it can at least irritate ...
