The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have 13 former players competing for the Stanley Cup as the puck drops in Game 1 between the Kings and New York Rangers. Manchester has forwards Dustin Brown, Kyle Clifford, Dwight King, Trevor Lewis, Jordan Nolan, Tanner Pearson, and Tyler Toffoli, defensemen Alec Martinez, Jake Muzzin, and Slava Voynov, and goaltenders Martin Jones and Jonathan Quick competing for the Kings in the series. Forward Brian Boyle is the lone former Monarchs player to suit up for the Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final.
I can't wait for Sunday's game. Worth losing sleep over that's for sure. See everyone at Cherry's. Los Angeles – The moment was there to crush the Chicago Blackhawks along with their quest to solidify themselves as hockey's newest dynasty. Oh that word can be thrown around too often, but three Stanley Cups in five years would, at the very least, make for a compelling conversation. But to win the third they still have to get by the Los Angeles Kings, their equal in these playoffs, and Friday night the Kings had the defending champs on the ropes in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. The scoreboard showed the Kings up 3-2 with under nine minutes to play, and really all the momentum was in their favor. They'd scored twice in the third to retake the lead, sending the sellout crowd into a tizzy and Dustin Brown on a mission to drill anyone in his way. The Kings could taste the Stanley Cup Final, where the New York Rangers await, while the Blackhawks, well, time was simply running out on them. Lose and i ...

TONITE @ 7PM BLACKHAWKS at KINGS (Best-of-7 series tied 1-1) Big story: The Los Angeles Kings now have the home-ice advantage, but the Chicago Blackhawks could take it right back by winning one or both of the next two games at Staples Center. The question is how the defending Stanley Cup champions will respond in Game 3 after watching the Kings score six straight goals in the final 22 minutes of Game 2 to earn a split of the first two games in Chicago. "They're the defending Stanley Cup champions, we're well aware of how good a team they are and also how they're going to be able to battle adversity," Kings captain Dustin Brown said after practice Friday. "We try and put ourselves in their situation. If we had six unanswered goals against us, how would we come out and want to play in Game 3? I think we're well aware of how hard Game 3 is going to be."
Dear Ducks fans, Every complaint you've ever had about Dustin Brown just got blown out of the water. Your golden boy Corey Perry just knowingly played with a broken stick, then missed his BS penalty shot. That's what you get for cheating. Enjoy life behind the Orange curtain, I hear they have plenty of great golf. Regards, The Los Angeles Kings. GO KINGS GO!

I believe Dustin Brown will carry the Los Angeles Kings to the Promised Land much like what Wayne Gretzky did 19 years ago.

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues Hockey Club for an outstanding season - one that we die-hard life-long suffering Blues fans never expected. Yes, it's bitter-sweet to lose in the the 2nd round of Lord Stanley's Cup playoffs ... but, like the Chicago Cubs, we keep out eternal hope! Congratulations also to Dustin Brown and Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings :) Good luck!!!
Dustin Brown is literally the face of the Los Angeles Kings, scarred and bruised by his physical style and hungry to end decades of team failure.
The Vancouver Canucks lost 2-1 in overtime tonight to be eliminated in 5 games by the Los Angeles Kings from the Stanley Cup playoffs. That's pretty much disgraceful for a team that just won its second straight President's trophy (most points in the regular season). They lost 4 games to 1 to the eighth place team in the west. They only won one playoff game. They were just about swept out like dust balls. Where they do not have performance issues is in goal. Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider were their best players in the playoffs. And both goalies had remarkably good seasons. But it seems likely that one of them has to go. It had better be Luongo cuz remarkable as Luongo is, Schneider is quite clearly better. If they keep Luongo and trade Schneider, they have reconciled themselves to goaltending that just has not gotten the playoff job done over the years. Though they finished eighth, the LA Kings deserve some credit. Their captain Dustin Brown showed himself as a superstar in the first two games. And the ...
The Vancouver Canucks played much better tonight against the Los Angeles Kings but, once again, they lost, going down 1-0 in the game and 3-0 in the best of seven series. And, once again, it was the Kings's captain, Dustin Brown, who was primarily to blame for the Canuck loss. Brown scored the only goal of the game and also layed a bone crunching legal hit on Henrik Sedin, the Canuck's captain, that almost put iron-man Hank Sedin out of the game. It would have been the first time in about 550 that he didn't finish a game--but he came back. God knows how, though; it was a devastating hit. Brown also had a couple of scoring opportunities that required brilliant saves from Cory Schneider, the Canuck's backup goaltender who played very well, as usual. Schneider and the Canucks, who outshot the Kings 41-20, played their best game of the series. But Brown, who in the previous game scored two short-handed goals, once again performed like a bad assed superstar on a Kings team with no lack of them such as Mike Ric ...
