26 NH to ME - Some advice: If you should ever find yourself driving from New Hampshire to Maine on Rt. 26 which goes through the Dixville Notch and the Gratham Notch after dark, on snowy slippery roads, and discover that there is no cell coverage, I have some advice. Go slow, put on Christmas music and sign along with it. You will arrive safely on Rt. 2 in Maine and you may not realize that it just took you 1 hour and 45 minutes to go 52 miles. SO VERY THANKFUL TO BE HOME SAFE AND SOUND!!!
Got an early start leaving Bar Harbor and driving West along the Rangeley Lakes Scenic Byway, with views of Saddleback Mountain along Sandy River into the resort town of Rangeley on Rangeley Lake. We continued West into New Hampshire passing Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge near Wentworth Location, N. H. stopping for lunch in Errol. We visited Dixville Notch, famous as it is the first place in the U.S. to report results in national elections. We followed the Three Rivers Scenic Drive on New Hampshire 16 South along the Androscoggin, Peabody, & Ellis rivers. We finished up celebrating Mark's Birthday ascending the Mount Washington Auto Road 6,288 ft. to the summit of Mount Washington for an experience we will never forget. Before settling in for the night in North Conway.

CHICAGO — Early on Election Day, in two tight, tucked-away rooms at Obama headquarters known as the Cave and the Alley, the campaign's data-crunching team awaited the nation's first results, from Dixville Notch, a New Hampshire hamlet that traditionally votes at midnight. Dixville Notch split 5-5. It did not seem an auspicious outcome for the president. But for the math geeks and data wizards who spent more than a year devising sophisticated models to predict which voters would back the president, Dixville Notch was a victory. Their model had gotten it right, predicting that about 50% of the village's voters were likely to support President Obama. The 29-year-old chief analytics officer, erupted in joy. The model was also projecting that Obama would be reelected. And as the night wore on, swing state after swing state came in with results that were very close to the model's prediction.

Can someone tell me Al Gore's reasoning that in 1 polling place in Dade County Florida, having to wait on line to vote is the same as bringing back Jim Crow laws? It's a big city! Lots of people voted! It wasn't Dixville Notch, NH where there are only 10 voters. Will they never stop making everything racist?
Seriously? No one else is worried about the predictive power of a 5-5 tie in Dixville Notch earlier today?

News Flash: After only 3 hours of voting, MSNBC has just called the election for Obama. Based upon the 67 voters in Dixville Notch, NH, they've projected a 79% Hugo Chavez-like landslide to the President. Yes, its early, but they feel the 67 voters, coincidentally the exact same number of Rachel Maddow's audience, combined with Chris Matthews getting another "tingly feeling up his leg", was enough proof to call it a day for their guy. Noting the 5 folks that voted for Romney, they feel it is either voter fraud, computer error or women past their reproductive years, but they are willing to let it slide given the lopsided vote.
First results from Dixville Notch and Hart's Location: Obama leads Romney 28-14. Keep the momentum and America moving
Bob Beckel, lib commentator on Fox's 'The Five' just came up with the best plan for getting through Election Day tomorrow. I like it, anyone up for a movie marathon? Call me after you vote and come on up. (the pass should be open)
