Alright so I was going to make this big critiquing status about Big Hero 6, but i'll just keep it short and simple. Round up: Very good film (As i expected it to be). Directed by John Lasseter ( a long time director of Pixar) It didn't feel like i was watching a Disney film. A lot of aspects some children could't understand but the plot was basic with a few twists and turns here. I already predicted the main twist but even then i had to whisper an 'OMG' when it was true. It's based off the Marvel Comic book so there is an absolutely hilarious cameo. (STAY FOR THE CREDITS) Very funny too! it's packed FULL OF FEELS ( I cried twice because.just omg...just go watch it.. ;w;) and i just...absolutely fell in love with all of the characters. I think Hiro has to be my favorite. He's sooo adorable. This is by far, my favorite film to be produced the brand spankin new 'Walt Disney Animation Studios.' without a doubt. In fact, if anyone wants to go see it, i'll go with you. I really want to see it again. I see mysel ...
Big Hero 6 may not be groundbreaking for a Marvel film, but newsflash: it's a Disney Animation film - and this is their high point.

Big Hero 6 was a blast! The whole family enjoyed it! Animation outshines Frozen in sheer spectacle
It's a straight up Disney movie though, not done by Pixar. Which shows just how much Disney's upped their animation quality!
That recent Toy Story 4 announcement...with that my excitement from this studio has almost entirely diminished. Pixar's glorious days are gone IMO. They're now settling for sequels and mediocrity. It's depressing, since they were THE animation studio of the 2000's. I saw the Inside Out trailer yesterday, it felt very underwhelming. Granted it's just a trailer, but none of the Pixar trailers in the past have felt like that either. Luckily the spirit of the old Pixar lives on through Disney Animation...Tangled, Frozen, Wreck-it-Ralph, Big Hero 6. But in terms of Pixar themselves...gone, it appears.

"Zorro Days" will continue into tomorrow. 1981: Disney's Wonderful World series airs "Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life" on NBC-TV. For the first time in forever, Disney Animation has won Best Animated Feature. Congrats to Frozen!!!
What they said ANIMATION : It may seem surprising, but Disney Animation has never won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature -- a failing that was remedied on Monday morning when it won for critical and box office hit Frozen. That is partly because the Oscar category was only created in 2002 and since then Disney has failed to win -- although Pixar, which it bought in 2006, has won seven times in 11 years. It is a record which is all the more surprising since Walt Disney himself won no fewer than 22 Oscars over his long career, for shorts and documentaries, plus a few honorary Academy Awards. But Frozen -- loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen -- has finally succeeded in ending the Disney drought, with a film which has taken nearly $1 billion at the box office, beating Disney Animation's previous record held by The Lion King since 1994. The film's success marks the culmination of a revival driven by fierce competition and the studio's purchase of rival Pixar, bringing boss John Lasseter in ...

Weekend Box Office Report: Non-Stop and Son of God ruled the box office over Oscar weekend. The Liam Neeson action movie took first place with $28.9 million, while Son of God was an impressive runner-up. Meanwhile, Disney Animation's Frozen became the 18th movie ever to earn over $1 billion worldwide. More importantly, it's only the fifth movie ever to hit that milestone that's not a sequel or prequel. With an opening in Japan on the way, Frozen will likely end its run in the Top 10 all-time. Playing at 3,090 locations, Non-Stop led the way with $28.9 million. That's a significant step up from recent Neeson movies Unknown ($21.9 million) and The Grey ($19.7 million). It's also on par with similar movies like Olympus Has Fallen ($30.4 million) and Inside Man ($29 million). Following Lone Survivor and Ride Along, this is the third movie from Universal Pictures to open in the top spot this year. Even more impressive is the fact that all three of these movies are completely original (i.e. not sequels or reboo ...

I always loved this movie, but on review I think it might actually be my favorite ever. It combines so many things I love; Old Hollywood, animation, 40's LA, and film noir. It is a technical and artistic masterpiece. Bob Hoskins should have won an Oscar for his performance. Look up some of the behind the scenes stuff and see the work he (and the entire production team) put in to making Roger and the others believable scene partners. Also, Disney animation studios were shut down before this movie, and were opened back up to help deal with the work load. After the success of Roger Rabbit, Disney began making feature length animated films again, creating what is considered the Golden Age of Disney Animation. So if you like anything from the Little Mermaid up to now, you owe a thanks to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also, as a side note, Jessica Rabbit is a fantastic character. She gets a bad wrap for her extreme proportions and over-sexualization, but that's part of the point. She was likely drawn ...
Frozen is a movie wherein a Disney Princess builds her own Fortress of Solitude, has at least two Arrested Development references, makes a powerful case for how cool a solo Iceman movie could be, has a male love interest that does not force himself on the female lead, and the villain is typically handsome and charming rather than being ugly by default. The music is also fantastic, making it the first CG Disney film to feature memorable music. Remember when Pixar was ruling all over the place and Disney Animation was an embarrassment in comparison? Disney has had three incredible CG features in a row now, each arguably better than the last. I can't wait to see what they pull out next.

Weekend Report: 'Frozen' Beats 'Fire,' 'Furnace' Melts On a weekend in which most of the country was facing unusually frigid temperatures, Disney Animation's Frozen held well enough to take first place away from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Meanwhile, the lone newcomer Out of the Furnace was a major disappointment. Frozen fell 53 percent to $31.6 million, which is the highest post-Thanksgiving gross ever ahead of Toy Story 2 ($27.8 million). In comparison, Tangled fell 56 percent to $21.6 million on the same weekend in 2010. Frozen has now earned $134.3 million, and it remains on track for a total around $250 million. After hanging on well through the Thanksgiving holiday, Catching Fire plummeted 65 percent to $26.2 million this weekend. That's not a particularly good hold; for example, the last two Twilight movies held a bit better coming off Thanksgiving weekend. To date, Catching Fire has earned $335.9 million, and is still on pace to wind up north of $400 million. At 2,101 locations, Out of the Fu ...

Disney Animation confirms Big Hero 6 will be their first movie, sets release for Nov. 7, 2014:
Exclusive: Disney Animation announces first Marvel movie, 'Big Hero 6':
One of my favorite movies of all time! The animation style is simple, beautiful and technically brilliant. This movie discovered some unknown talent like Glen Keane, Ron Clemens, John Musker, Howard Ashman, and Alan Menken, who are legends today. Had this movie not been produced in a parking lot on the brink of studio bankruptcy, it would have had a budget for more special effects like shadows and water ripples, which would have set a standard for animation years ahead of its time. The only effect they could splurge on were bubbles, all 8 million of them (yup, some guy sat there and animated over 8 million bubbles). This movie not only won Academy Awards and made stars of the above names, but it pretty much saved the Disney Animation studio from definite bankruptcy and revived it into its Second Golden Age under Jeffrey Katzenberg. There's your Disney trivia for the day =)
Jason Bateman will be voicing in a Disney Animation feature to be directed by 'Tangled' director Byron Howard.
It seems the guys at Disney Animation are learning a few things about keeping secrets from their colleagues at Pixar, as it’s been revealed that Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) is developing a new movie for them, but no details have been released telling us what it’s about.

Saw Wreck-it Ralph with kids. Was good. Not Pixar-good but evidence that John Lasseter is turning things around at Disney Animation.
"Wreck-It Ralph" review - Honestly, ever since Disney/Pixar merged, and Pixar's John Lasseter took over Disney Animation in general.they have NOT done a bad movie yet, and this was probably one of the best non-Pixar movies since the merger. There's a TON of old-school and current school video game references that are great in here. The voice-cast was definitely great, as Alan Tudyk channeling the late Ed Wynn (the Mad Hatter from Disney's original Alice in Wonderland) just nailed Wynn's voice for King Candy. Plus the extras on the blu-ray (with the Gamer's Guide to Wreck-It Ralph hosted by Chris Hardwick) were great. Another big plus was that Disney went out and got most of the original voice actors for the gaming characters in the game. VERY recommended, as it was a tremendous movie.
Disney Animation is currently not developing any hand drawn feature films. That makes me a little sad. I love hand drawn films. But as times change, children today expect a certain aesthetic which right now is the Pixar aesthetic. Makes me a little sad inside. Most of my favorite films are hand drawn animated features and I hope the art form does not go away.
Wreck-it Ralph is not a Pixar film. It's Disney Animation. Same company, different studios. What's third now?
Creeping photos from Disney Animation and Pixar Studios on Instagram. The day after Oscar photos are the best. Sigh. I want to go to there.
WRECK-IT RALPH (2012) Director: Rich Moore Writers: Rich Moore; Phil Johnston; Jennifer Lee; Jim Reardon Cast: John C. Reilly; Sarah Silverman; Jane Lynch; Jack McBrayer; Alan Tudyk; Ed O'Neill; Dennis Haysbert; Adam Carolla; Horatio Sanz Wreck-It Ralph is not only the best animated film of the year, it's the best video game movie ever made. Filled with wit, heart and nods to games ranging from Q*Bert to Gears of War, it is a movie for gamers by gamers, but the story and execution are so brilliant you don't need to be a game fan to enjoy it. It's no wonder that many people have mistaken Wreck-It Ralph for a Pixar effort. Disney Animation has done an amazing job making sure solid storytelling is at the foundation of this film. Sure, there are nods to Street Fighter and Sonic and Mario Kart aplenty, but everything is tethered to a simple but fulfilling narrative, and that makes all the difference. In the world of Wreck-It Ralph, characters in video games have a life outside of their games; when the lights i ...

Go see Wreck-It Ralph. You don't have to be a game fan. The story is wonderful, and the big reveal is PERFECT. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat over a freaking video game movie. For those who are nitpicking because it's Disney Animation instead of Pixar, the words "Executive Producer: John Lasseter" are all you need to know.
