Deval Patrick & Julian Castro
Deval Laurdine Patrick (born July 31, 1956) is the 71st and current Governor of Massachusetts. Julián Castro (born September 16, 1974) is an American politician and the current Mayor of San Antonio, Texas. /5

I'm so angry that Hilary and Bernie are it. Calling/ paging Julian Castro, Deval Patrick! Who else?
Hilary gotta pick Julian Castro or Deval Patrick for VP
Julian Castro or Deval Patrick would be my choices, but I'm not the voice of anything really
Also, I'm really liking Deval Patrick from MA, Martin O'Malley or MAYBE Julian Castro to be Hillary's VP.
Yes! Deval Patrick and Julian Castro come to mind.
Way too early list of Democrat front runners for 2016: Deval Patrick, Martin O'Malley, Julian Castro. I don't see Hilary running.
Chris Matthews is right Where are Deval Patrick, Julian Castro, Jim Webb? We need elected officials fighting 4 O
Julian Castro, Deval Patrick, Bill Clinton, Kal Penn, and Michelle and Barack Obama gave wonderfully passionate and moving speeches at the convention this week. I hope we get Obama for 4 more years.
Because its the party of Deval Patrick and Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden and Julian Castro and Corey Booker..and Gabby Giffords!
Who did you think gave the best speech at the DNC in Charlotte? My list (in order) POTUS, FLOTUS, Biden, President Clinton, Deval Patrick, Julian Castro, Emanuel Cleaver, John Lewis, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, John Kerry, Sandra Fluke, Tammy Duckworth, Jennifer Granholm.
I'm really distressed that the DN Convention is over. I was glued to my TV all week. What amazing speakers. John Kerry blew me away...too bad he didn't have that conviction for himself when he ran. Michelle, Julian Castro, Deval Patrick, and many more. I'm stunned the Dems finally got it right - right message and great orchestration of the entire event.
A pretty interesting Democratic National Convention. Great speeches from Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton, a preview of coming stars like Julian Castro and Deval Patrick, a real fire and brimstone speech from Jennifer Granholm, and even Hard Scrapple Joe stayed out of trouble last night! The emotional point came when Gabby Giffords led the delegates in the "Pledge of Allegiance"! And Barack closed the convention with a muted, yet optimistic speech about what lies ahead. Will be interesting if he gets a bigger bounce out of the convension than Romney/Ryan did!
And we'll be leaving the furniture to Deval Patrick or Julian Castro.
Future of the Democratic party? I like it: Deval Patrick, Corey Booker, Julian Castro, Martin O'Malley, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, and Michelle Obama (whatever she decides to do), Anthony Villalagrossa, and Joe Biden
Call him what you want--Slick Willie, Bubba, The Big Dog, the King. He brought it last night and articulated the best case for a second term for Obama. And the people who spoke before him were no slouches-Elizabeth Warren, Lilly Ledbetter, Tammy Duckworth, Cory Booker, Deval Patrick, and Julian Castro. Others I left out I'm sure.
great speeches by Julian Castro & Deval Patrick - articulate rising stars in their party - & compelling appeal by Michelle Obama
And yes, it was ladies' night (mostly) last nite at the Democratic Nat'l Convention. Excellent speech by Michelle Obama; real, down-to-earth and heartfelt--she takes 1st place. 2nd place goes to the mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro, and 3rd place to the current Masachusetts governor, Deval Patrick (could be flipped)Pretty hard, to me, not to agree with most of what they said. Looking forward to tonight's speeches, esp by one William Jefferson Clinton. On the down side, though (just heard this): the President's planned outdoor speech on Thurs is gonna be moved inside bec of weather. I wonder if the Republicans were praying for rain...hmm.
Was major impressed with the Democratic Convention last night. Michelle knocked it out of the park and Julian Castro and Deval Patrick (new to me) were both fabulous. Go minorities!! Tonight we have Bill Clinton, the first black president according to Al Sharpton. Eat your hearts out, Rebuplicans!
There are so many compelling speakers, some don't get Prime Time. I hope, one day, to see Julian Castro or Deval Patrick on a national ticket. Patrick said if perfectly: "The question is: What do we believe? We believe in an economy that grows opportunity out to the middle class and the marginalized, not just up to the well connected. We believe that freedom means keeping government out of our most private affairs, including out of a woman’s decision whether to keep an unwanted pregnancy and everybody’s decision about whom to marry. We believe that we owe the next generation a better country than we found and that every American has a stake in that. We believe that in times like these we should turn to each other, not on each other. We believe that government has a role to play, not in solving every problem in everybody’s life but in helping people help themselves to the American dream. That’s what Democrats believe."
Great Speech tonight by FLOTUS. Julian Castro's speech really spoke to so many immigrant Americans who could relate even though he sort of converted Rubio's line about his dad standing in the back of the room so he could stand in front. Gov. Deval Patrick's passionate remarks (albeit with some Fact check errors) struck the right balance and tenor. Glee's Amber Riley and R&B crooner Ledisi tore up their renditions of the National Anthem. It was great that there was a lot of stress on hard work. Nice to see diversity in the audience. The crowd was much hyped which I guess was/is the purpose of the convention to energize the base. Good balance between negative slams and bolstering of own party's record. Speakers said candidate's name often and with conviction. Great closing prayer which as a Catholic I could relate to and appreciate. Nice to see a *** speaker who called on other *** & progressives to respect those who favor traditional marriage and their rights to favor it over "marriage equality." Overal ...
Day 1 -- Democratic National Convention Sep. 4, 2012 It was a rousing evening, and as Michael Steele put it, “The Democrats finally found their mojo!” That’s some praise coming from Steele, a former RNC chairman. The speakers came out swinging promoting the Affordable Care Act, which many actually called Obamacare. Stacy Linh – the mother of small girl with heart defect – made a strong case for the Affordable Care Act, how it helped with her daughter’s medical costs. The top three speakers were Michelle Obama, Deval Patrick – Governor of Massachusetts; and keynote speaker Julian Castro – Mayor of San Antonio, Texas. The speeches flowed extremely well, and had electric moments. Michelle walked out to the tune of “Signed Sealed Delivered” by Stevie Wonder. She connected well emotionally with the audience in a tangible way. She did a good job of linking her relationship with her husband’s policies in a very believable way. Deval Patrick – Massachusetts governor – gave a great speech ...
Great speeches at the Democratic National Convention tonight - my favorites were Deval Patrick, Julian Castro, and especially Michelle Obama. And such a diverse crowd - far more representative of the diversity of our great country than the crowd at the RNC last week. FOUR MORE YEARS!
Having seen the first night of the RNC and the first night of the DNC, the DNC just completely owns it. Artur Davis was impressive for the Repubs, but Deval Patrick, Julian Castro, Ted Strickland and Michelle Obama were all inspirational.
In 2004, Becky and I were on vacation in Cape May, NJ, and we watched Barack Obama deliver the keynote speech at the Democratic Convention. We were so moved, that we both said that he needed to run for President someday. Tonight, I can't decide if I want Deval Patrick or Julian Castro to succeed President Obama in 2016. I'm leaning toward Castro, simply because there is a significant number of people who couldn't handle it if a man with the last name Castro succeeded a man whose middle name is Hussein.
Great speeches by Tammy Duckworth, Julian Castro, and Deval Patrick -- especially Deval Patrick. And with Lilly Ledbetter, the ghost of Molly Ivins walks, eh? Castro's line really sums up the entire legacy of the Dem Party since FDR: opportunity is a relay, not a sprint, not a marathon. Today's GOP seems to want those with the batons to just keep on running.
So proud to be a Democrat right now. These guys, and gals, are highly intelligent and gave such wonderful speeches. Watches the entire might so far. Thought Corey Booker was great. Then Wendy Duckworth, then the absolutely incredible Deval Patrick. Wow!!! And then the wonderful Michael O'Malley having to follow Mr. Patrick. But he was awesome, too... 'this a shame he had to follow Patrick, though. And now Julian Castro is speaking. Such intelligence in this party. It is so awesome that we as a Democratic party have such diversity in our party.
