These musical giants are both gone now. (L-R) Rich Havens and Gerry Genuario. How many musicians can say they performed with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Jackson, Liberace, Liza Minelli, Ann-Margret, Debbie Reynolds, Dean Martin, Pete Fountain, Mitzi Gaynor, Johnny Mathis, Don Rickles, the Carpenters, Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick and literally hundreds(!) more!?! Both these men though largely unknown, worked playing drums for the aforementioned during their impressive careers. I was greatly blessed to be part of this era and scene for 12 years and to have studied with these gentlemen /artists. May they rest in peace.

I must have seen this on Stage before, but maybe not. But tonight I saw "THE UNSKINKABLE MOLLY BROWN", at the Candlelight Playhouse, in Johnstown, just this side of Fort Collins, and can not remember ever seeing this Meredith Willson Show before. That was like going to the Shopping Center, and forgetting where you parked. I have had the story of Molly Brown under my skin, since Debbie Reynolds rocked the World, in the Blockbuster Movie. A World I grew closer to, when Lee Whiteway, the Headmaster at the Starkey Institute lived behind the Molly Brown Mansion on Pennsylvania, invited me to a dinner party there, when I told Lee I was the Ghost of Molly Brown. Lee bought MY STORY, Hook, Line, and Sinker, and had a dinner party where I met the late Linda Goto, who was chairing that year's Opera Colorado Ball, Dame Beryl Windsor and Jocelan Martell, Daughter's of the British Empire, and the late Sam and Carry Arnold, owner's of the legendary Fort Restaurant in Morrison. Especially interesting at that part ...

Debbie Reynolds has told me that I'm "okay"... but could use some work. I have been told that my 120 pound frame when dancing as a professional was fat. (I could go on and on) If I let any of that phase me. I wouldn't be as happy as I am today and confident about what I am... and what I am not. I'm charged daily about one thing or another. from all walks. and it really just doesn't matter to me. All I care about are that those attending my shows have a great time. those who attend my classes have fun... those that participate in my events and photoshoots find something new within. and somehow grow in their own little way. If I get to see that growth and development. and be scrutinized for making it available... fine by me. These woman that I work with are beyond worth it... and always will be."

Ken and I just returned from The Turner Classic Cruise for 2013. It didn't matter where we cruised to, because some of my favorite classic movie stars were on board. I am such a Debbie Reynolds fan when I heard she was going, I said count me in! We also got to see and get up close and personal with Arlene Dahl, Sally Ann Howe, and.last but not least...Mickey Rooney. We visited the Cayman Islands and Cozumel. Next year they will host another cruise with all different stars, so I'm getting excited. It's a great trip. Join us!

I'm back from the the Turner Classic Movie Celebrity cruise. I met Ben Mankiewicz, Alex Trebek, Robert Osborne, and Debbie Reynolds, who actually told me that I'm pretty. Of course she is pretty too! While on my trip, I got to climb one of the ancient Mayan pyramids. Also, I went diving on a shipwreck which resulted in me having to get a tetanus shot because I cut myself on it! Next time I'm wearing a wetsuit. But regardless I had a great time!

Well, back from my B-Day present Jan. 21st till the 26th exclusive film geek only TCM Classic Movie Cruise to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Miami, etc... aboard the monsterous 12 story Greek ocean liner "The Constellation." Tons of all you can comfortably consume great food, drinks, popcorn, service, conversations, screen time, even a right on que sudden survivable swinging twilight storm at sea during a jazz blast'n top deck open air pool side party with Mickey Rooney, Debbie Reynolds, Arlene Dahl, Rich Little, Alex Trebek and other notables on hand. The main 4 level theatre was plush, comphy, with food & drink service to your crystal topped table velvet lined seat, annnd HUGE. The ONLY Theatre in Austin larger & more fancy is our 1916 built Paramount on Congress Avenue in the shadow of the Texas Capital. I didn't disembark at any of our ports of call, just TO much happen'n happenings on board with just TO many cool people in cool clothes in attendance to tear myself away from. Example: 2 hours of never before ...

Just got back from a great Turner Classic Movie cruise. We were on the same deck level with Mickey Rooney, and Debbie Reynolds. Fun week and lots of old movies.

Our stateroom on the Turner Classic Movies was comfortable and the veranda was a definite asset. Our vessel, the Celebrity Constellation, accommodates 2,000 passengers and 1,000 employees. Next to us at the pier in Cozumel was a 6,000-passenger vessel with a crew of 3,000. All 2,000 of our passengers were part of the TCM cruise, and the entire ship was decorated in a classic movies theme. There were several movie theaters onboard with classic movies playing, and interviews with the celebrity guests--Debbie Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, Arlene Dahl, Norman LLoyd, Alex Trabec--who graciouslu mingled with attendees,

~ Funny thing happened in my classroom today. I set up a new DVD player for the documentaries and movies I show in my history class. We are studying the Westward Expansion, so I am showing "How The West Was Won." Has Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Debbie Reynolds, and it won three Academy Awards. The new remote has lots of buttons. I was trying to turn up the volume. As I pressed all the buttons - no kidding! Jimmy Stewart and every one on the big screen started speaking FRENCH! We had a good laugh!

One of my biggest passions is photographing old tobacco barns because tobacco is such a big part of the heritage of the state of North Carolina. It is really sad to see so many great treasures from our past falling into a state of disrepair or being dismantled to sell the lumber.
