Chelsea To Announce 20 Million Pound Profit by DAVID on NOVEMBER 13, 2014 Chelsea are set to announce profits of almost £20m and a record turnover of around £325m when the Premier League leaders release their annual financial results. The current Premier League leaders will report a turnover of £325m for the year up to June 30, and will comfortably pass UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) test thanks to the funds brought in by the sale of Juan Mata and David Luiz, plus their share of the new £1bn television deal. Chelsea ran up losses of more than £600m during Roman Abramovich’s first 10 years of ownership, but this is a huge financial step forward for Chelsea, as it shows that they can compete with the big clubs in Europe both on and off the pitch. The key to meeting Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules for Chelsea has been the club’s recent activity in the transfer market. In 2013-14, Chelsea made a profit of 47m euros, despite adding Willian, Nemanja Matic and André Schürrle to the squad, due t ...
What do we need Sami Khedirat for? Honestly, he is good, but with d crop of players in chelsea now, I don't think we need him, unless Remiras will have problem because I know Matic can't stay on d bench as far as Mourinho is concerned. Okey, if he comes to chelsea, what will be d hope of the Oscar! I just discovered that Jos Mourinho never like the players he met during this second stint at chelsea. Let's take a reflection, Torres, Demba Ba, Lampard, Ashley Cole, Essien, Lukaku, Juan Mata, De Brune, David Luiz etc and now Cech will soon go. Oscar will follow suit I guess. What about Mikel, on d bench. The players Jos Mourinho fashion and fancy most are his back four which are John Terry, Azpiliqueta, Cahill and Ivan Novic, this is because they(back four) have unity at d back, and guess what, if Magala had come to Chelsea, who would have been on d bench by now, I know Cahill, Azpiliqueta and Ivanovic can't be on d bench, but would he have benched d captain of chelsea for Mangala! Now the question is why di ...
Thrifty Chelsea? Mou better believe it at Stamford Bridge Mark Worral for Espn The international break has provided ample time for reflection on the many positives of Chelsea's season so far, and Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been sharing his views with the media on the perceived pros and cons of football's business side. During his first season back at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho started to tweak the squad he inherited, and following a season without silverware, he continued the process in the summer. Remarkably, and for the first time in the Roman Abramovich era, Chelsea's transfer business is making sound economic sense and means they meet UEFA's financial Fair Play rules. Cynics might argue the club were fortunate in securing large fees for Juan Mata, David Luiz and Romelu Lukaku, who fetched over 100 million pounds between them, but Mourinho indicated in a recent interview the Blues were simply playing ball and balancing the books. "We are making money to be able to spend money," he said. "In every tran ...
TRUE CONFESSION; MANU, BARCA N REALMADRID ARE HUGE TEAMS# Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Financial Fair Play has helped to give rivals Manchester United an advantage in the transfer market, ESPN has reported. The 51-year-old insisted that Chelsea has now become a ‘selling club’ after allowing the likes of David Luiz, Romalu Lukaku and Juan Mata leave for big money during this calendar year. As a result of the FFP rules, the Blues have relaxed their spending somewhat in the last two years. Meanwhile, Man Utd have gone on to break the British record for the amount of money spent in a transfer window by one club, after splashing out on Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria, whose fee of £59.7m broke the British transfer record. And Mourinho believes that this has come as the result of an advantage Man Utd have gained since the FFP rules were brought into force by UEFA. He said: "When UEFA decided for financial Fair Play, they were trying to do this to make ...
£37m for Juan Mata. £25m for Kevin De Bruyne. £50m for David Luiz. £28m for Romelu Lukaku. Mourinho is a genius!
Chelsea are confident that Luis is keen to join them and line up alongside current team-mate Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge next season. Manager Jose Mourinho has already bolstered his squad by signing Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona for £28.4m and a deal worth up to £35m for Costa is expected to be completed imminently. Chelsea have money to spend following the combined £52m sales of Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne in January, and by off-loading David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain for an initial £40m this summer. Brazil international Luis has been targeted by Mourinho to replace Ashley Cole, who will leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his contract expires this month.
Chelsea have sold David Luiz and Juan Mata for £92m and got Luis, Costa and Fabregas for £70m. Great business.
Why i love Spain and Brasil?because the former and present players of Chelsea club are there like Juan Mata and Torres from Spain,David Luiz,Oscar and Ramires from Brasil. My Top 5 are Spain,Brasil,Germany,Argentina and of course England just because of Frank Lampard and for Steve Alcoran sake :)
Team-mates... now rivals: Aguero v Dzeko, Suarez v Sturridge and more in our top 10 clashes at the World Cup in Brazil. In England, Spain and Germany, they're team-mates. In Brazil, they're nothing of the sort. The World Cup never fails to deliver key battles, and 2014 will be no different. Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho went through it. One an Argentinian star, the other a Brazilian wizard, both Barcelona team-mates of five years. They're the players that know each other inside out - better than anyone else, in fact - but sentimentality will count for little come June 12. Luis Suarez (Uruguay) v Daniel Sturridge (England) - JUNE 19 Sergio Aguero (Argentina) v Edin Dzeko (Bosnia) - JUNE 15 Mario Mandzukic (Croatia) v Dante (Brazil) - JUNE 12 Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon) v David Luiz (Brazil) - JUNE 23 Luka Modric (Croatia) v Marcelo (Brazil) - JUNE 12 Robin Van Persie (Holland) v Juan Mata (Spain) - JUNE 13 Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) v Sami Khedira (Germany) - JUNE 16 Antonio Valencia (Ecuador) v Patrice Evra ( ...

Didier Drogba . Juan Mata. Ashley Cole. David Luiz ... and now Frank Lampard.and i,ve just realized that these were 5 players who took penalty kick at champion league final at munich and now they are all gone.
I tuned into my copy of the 2012 Champions League Final. You know, the one in which we beat Bayern Munich, in their own backyard, to win the trophy for the first time in our history. But one thing struck me, namely just how much the squad has changed. Take a look for yourselves:- Starting XI v Bayern • Petr CechJose Bosingwa (gone) • Gary Cahill • David Luiz (gone) • Ashley Cole (going) • John Obi MikelFrank Lampard (going) • Juan Mata (gone) • Ryan BertrandSalomon Kalou (gone) • Didier Drogba (gone) Subs v Bayern • Ross Turnbull (gone) • Paulo Ferreira (retired) • Michael Essien (gone) • Oriol RomeuFlorent Malouda (gone) • Daniel Sturridge (gone) • Fernando Torres Gone - 9 Retired - 1 Going - 2 Futures in doubt - Bertrand, Romeu, Mikel, Now that is some turnover considering the game was a little over 2 years ago! source : www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk
Shaggy hair, Brazilian flair, Geezer, Those words in unison conjure up the image of just one man -- David Luiz. The 27yrs-old has become something of an icon because of his distinctive barnet, his silky touch,&the natural way in which he bonds with fans&teammates alike. The flamboyant Luiz is a hugely popular figure among supporters of Chelsea&Brazil, while his joie de vivre has been a sizable influence in the Stamford Bridge dressing room since his arrival from Benfica in 2011. His status is set to rise further next month when the World Cup takes place in his homeland,&should he replicate his performances from last summer’s Confederations Cup,then he will be assured of a permanent place in the hearts of his countrymen. And yet his imminent departure from Chelsea has been met,for the most part, with complete understanding by the club’s followers -- a complete contrast with the initial reaction to the sale of Juan Mata to Man United in January. The disappointment that greeted the Spaniard’s switch was b ...

Chelsea announce £50m losses meaning that Mourinho has no funds to buy players in January [Times] Jesus! Are Chelsea finally out of cash?! The Times start 2014 with a harrowing article for Chelsea fans, reporting that the Blues recorded a loss of £49.4 million for the year ending June 2013 which “means that José Mourinho will not be given any significant transfer funds during the January window and may even have to sell players before he can buy next summer.” Matt Hughes, the Deputy Football Correspondent at The Times, then goes on to suggest how Chelsea could raise funds in order to allow them to enter the transfer market. Chelsea’s need for a top-class striker is obvious, but financing new signings could be contingent on offloading one or more of the squad’s biggest assets, such as Juan Mata or David Luiz, neither of whom has played regularly under Mourinho this season. The need for economy as Chelsea look to control their wage costs will also influence forthcoming contract talks with John Te ...

During a first half dominated by the hosts, the Belgium international darting infield before unleashing a powerful drive that deceived goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel in the 29th minute. Chelsea failed to build on their superiority, though, and were made to work hard for victory after the break, though successfully held on to maintain their record of having dropped just two points at Stamford Bridge this season. Jose Mourinho made five changes to the side that drew 0-0 at Arsenal on Monday night, with David Luiz, Ashley Cole and Juan Mata among those coming into the starting XI and Frank Lampard dropping to the bench Swansea also made a ra ...
PRE-MATCH BRIEFING: CHELSEA V Swansea City TACTICAL BRIEF Michael Essien returns from the suspension that ruled him out of Monday's draw at Arsenal. Jose Mourinho,a fan of the hectic Christmas period that is unique among Europe's top leagues,is likely to make several changes from that game. The 4-3-3 formation constricted&stretched the Gunners&Essien,&late sub David Luiz can compete with Mikel to anchor midfield in that system. Fernando Torres was the only CF used in north London so either Samuel Eto'o or Demba Ba may step in today. Juan Mata was rested entirely along with Ashley Cole&Kevin De Bruyne. Mourinho – Man Of His Words Jose Mourinho once again, proved why he is the boss and has the final authority. The Portuguese had been criticized previously over his altitude towards his players. It could be recalled that after the loss at St James Park, He spoke to the media on how he made 11 mistakes and why his team deserved to loose. It went down the spine of every chelsea fan because, Mourinho is always a man of his words. For him to criticize your performance, then your place is at stake. The winning run came to an end on a wet, grey day on Tyneside when after a first half in which the woodwork denied Chelsea a deserved lead, a much-improved performance by Newcastle after the break yielded goals for the first half. Yoan Gouffran, from a set-piece, and Loic Remy, in open play as Jose Mourinho's men pushed for an equaliser, did the damage, denying the Blues the chance to move to the top of the table and inflicting our second league defeat. There were two changes from the side that had beaten Man City in the league outing last Sunday. David Luiz came back in for Gary Cahill who had started the last three games and Juan Mata, a scorer against Arsenal, was preferred to Andre Schurrle. Newcastle made two changes too from their last league game, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa came into central defence and Shola Ameobi replaced Hatem Ben Arfa in attack. The first 45 minutes of this Saturday lunchtime game suggested anything but a Newcastle win and Chelsea will be asking why the possession enjoyed in first half ...
Summary: Win or lose, we’ll support the blues! Despite Chelsea’s first half dominance the blues suffered their second league defeat of the season. Goals from Frenchmen Remy and Gourffran capped off a miserable game for Mourinho’s men. Chelsea started the game with a fast tempo despite the terrible conditions. Chelsea nearly forced an opportunity with Fernando Torres chasing Williamson trying to force the centre-back into making a mistake, however a smart piece of defending allowed the defender to clear the ball up field. The 13th minute saw Chelsea hit the bar twice within the space of 10 seconds. Juan Mata who was re-introduced into the starting 11 alongside David Luiz, curled an in-swinging corner towards John Terry, the Chelsea Captain leaped the highest and saw his header crash off the bar. Seconds later after the woodwork denied Chelsea the same thing happened as Branislav Ivanovic’s deflected header hit the top of the bar. The score remained 0-0 Due to the weather both sides, are mis-placing ...

::Who do you want to see start tonight? 'The average age of the Chelsea outfield squad that won 2-0 at Swindon was 25. The Blues' likely goalie tonight, Mark Schwarzer, 41, bumps that up considerably. Since starting in that win Marco Van Ginkel has been ruled out till March. The highest appearance-maker in this competition from the current squad, Frank Lampard (33 appearances, 11 goals), will almost certainly be rested after his hectic recent schedule. There are several players who will hope to lay out their case for more minutes, not least John Mikel Obi, David Luiz, Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne, Demba Ba, Michael Essien, Cesar Azpilicueta and Ryan Bertrand.' Spurs will give winger Aaron Lennon (foot) a fitness test on Friday while striker Emmanuel Adebayor is out through illness. CHELSEA: Chelsea will be without summer signing Marco Van Ginkel, with the Dutch midfielder expected to miss the remainder of the season after damaging knee ligaments in a Capital One Cup clash with Swindon on Tuesday. Ramires, who replaced Van Ginkel, was also forced off in midweek and has been rated as 'a major doubt' to face Spurs as he nurses a hip complaint. Juan Mata, David Luiz, Fernando Torres and Willian were all handed starting berths at the County Ground, but Mourinho is likely to freshen things up again in an effort to keep everyone on their toes.
Mata's industrious performance proves he can meet Mourinho's challenge, says Holland Assistant first-team coach Steve Holland praised the performance of Juan Mata as Chelsea saw off Swindon 2-0 to reach the fourth round of the Capital One Cup. Much of the pre-match focus was on Mata after manager Jose Mourinho omitted the World-Cup winning Spaniard, along with David Luiz, from his matchday 18 for Saturday's 2-0 victory over Fulham. Mourinho insists Mata does have a future at the club but has challenged him to adapt his game and the midfielder, restored to the starting XI at the County Ground, responded in impressive fashion with an industrious performance. Having provided a defence-splitting pass for Fernando Torres minutes earlier, Mata came close to a goal himself but saw his shot parried into the path of his compatriot, who this time opened the scoring. Substitute Ramires added a second soon after as the Blues did enough against a gutsy Swindon side. 'Obviously a lot has been made of the Mata situation ...
Torres hopes Mourinho gets the message after starring against Swindon Fernando Torres hopes his performance in the 2-0 win over Swindon in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup tie will convince boss Jose Mourinho to make him the first-choice striker. The Spain international has been relegated behind summer signing Samuel Eto'o in Chelsea's past three matches, but showed enough to suggest he could be included from the start against Tottenham at the weekend. 'Hopefully I will have more opportunities to play in the Premier League,' He told Sky Sports 2. 'The season is long and we have time to play important games. 'We will all be involved. We are in the manager's plans. We have 25 players squad in the squad and it is difficult to play in this great team.' Torres was joined by the likes of Juan Mata, Michael Essien and David Luiz in the starting XI after being overlooked in recent ...

What does everyone think about these figures then? Who is overpaid, who is underpaid, who is justifying their money and how much more ridiculous will wages get??? Whoa, the rumours were true, Hazard is on crazy money. I just wrote a blog on how I was happy with Hazard’s form, but I think a player at his age who is new to the club should never earn that amount of money. It’s easy to pull your hair out when you look at Torres’ wages too. A reason t ...

Tomas Rosicky is a transfer target for Zenit. Nathan Dyer could make a possible move to Hull after reports suggested they were interested in a move. Chelsea and Jose Mourinho were last night bracing themselves for a £100m raid from Europeans biggest clubs for Juan Mata, David Luiz and Fernando Torres. David Moyes has said he is determined to make a spectacular signing with Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo all possible options. Denilson, who is available on a free, is a target for Stoke. Samir Nasri could be set for a move to spain according to several spanish newspapers. Klaas Jan Huntelaar could join Tottenham if they fail to sign their top striking target David Villa or Christian Benteke. Emanuel Frimpong and Marouane Chamakh have reportedly been told they can leave Arsenal. Joleon Lescott is another Man City star who is attracting interest abroad from the likes of Athletico Madrid and Napoli. West Brom will try and sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis.

SCHURRLE: MIXED MEMORIES 26-06-2013 When Andre Schurrle makes his home debut for the Blues, it will of course be a special moment for our newest recruit. It will not, however, be the first time the German international has been involved in a competitive game at Stamford Bridge. On 13 September 2011, Schurrle made his Champions League debut for Bayer Leverkusen in a group-stage match against Chelsea in west London. Only 20 years old at the time, he played the full 90 minutes as his side were beaten 2-0 courtesy of second-half goals from future team-mates David Luiz and Juan Mata . For obvious reasons, it's a game which stands out in his career but understandably, one he reflects on with mixed emotions. 'I remember the game at Stamford Bridge as it was my first Champions League match,' he tells the official Chelsea website. 'I remember the stadium being right in the middle of the city, and it was the game whereMichael Ballack returned to Chelsea for the first time and the supporters were brilliant with him. ...
The Mirror claim that Chelsea will receive bids totalling £100m for Juan Mata, David Luiz and Fernando Torres.. Hold up, why would those three players cost £100m? Mata would be £35m maybe £40m max. I wouldn't say that Luiz is worth more than £25m and Torres isn't worth more than £20m. I'd say for those three you would be looking to pay no more than £80m.

Chelsea Transfer News: Juan Mata, David Luiz and Fernando Torres could all leave Stamford Bridge
"Jose Mourinho will listen to offers for Chelsea’s Juan Mata as well as David Luiz and Fernando Torres. (Times)"
According to some reports, Mourinho has put both Juan Mata and David Luiz on sale. Barcelona most likely going after Luiz.
José Mourinho has set his sights on getting the best from his current Chelsea squad before delving into the transfer market – and history shows the Blues boss has a chequered record when it comes to player recruitment at Stamford Bridge. The 50-year-old, who has signed a four-year deal, inherits a Chelsea squad brimming with top-class talent, with David Luiz growing into a top Premier League player, Ramires starting to look a real force in midfield and World Cup winner Fernando Torres leading the Blues attack. Perhaps the most exciting proposition for Mourinho is his attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Oscar, who at times were spell-binding in the Premier League last season, and, unfortunately for Chelsea’s rivals, will only improve with age. The Europa League winners have already been linked with a host of big names over the past few months, including Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetić and Roma’s talismanic midfielder Daniele De Rossi. This Blues squad only nee ...

Chelsea: Top 10 goals of the season David Luiz, Juan Mata & Frank Lampard have all scored sensational goals for the Europa League champions this season Chelsea won the Europa League and finished third in the Premier League, scoring some memorable goals along the way. But which were the best 10? 10. Frank Lampard v Newcastle A mad game at St James' Park, which Chelsea went on to lose in the last moments of the game. With Jonas Gutierrez putting the Magpies in front after there was a shout for Fabricio Coloccini to be sent off following an injury he caused to Demba Ba, it summed Up Chelsea's first-half performance. Nevertheless they responded well in the second half and, when needed, the man for any Chelsea occasion popped up again. With Chelsea on the attack that seemed to be resulting in not very much, Lampard collected Ashley Cole's pass and by his standards controlled it poorly on his chest but making up for it by taking it past Yohan Cabaye with a superb touch and lashed a powerful effort into the top ...

Who is Chelsea's Duracell bunny? As Blues near end of tiring 69-game season, look at the stats... After a 69 game slog of a season which has taken Chelsea to Japan, Romania, Russia and plenty of other places, they take on Premier League rivals Manchester City twice in two days - in America. But who is Chelsea's Duracell bunny? Analyzing the statistics to find which players have pulled their weight. The obvious answers would be Juan Mata, Oscar and Fernando Torres - who have all appeared in 64 matches. This trio currently hold the record for appearances in one season. But in terms of minutes played, the player who takes the accolade is Chelsea's man of steel. Or as his team-mates know him, 'The Beast'. It's Serbian centre-back Branislav Ivanovic. It's important to say that Ivanovic is actually only 2nd in terms of minutes played (4992mins) - but the No 1, goalkeeper Petr Cech (5655), mainly spends his time standing still in his penalty area. Following Ivanovic are Juan Mata (4920) and David Luiz (4915), ev ...
Latest transfer rumours :) (Linzi) Rafael Benítez had better buy himself a new baseball cap sharpish. Forget Napoli, Rafa, because you're going to Stoke, who are eyeing up the Spaniard after parting company with Tony Pulis, everyone's favourite entertainer. Sure, Benítez has spent the past few months working with Eden Hazard and Juan Mata, but could he really turn down the chance to work with Ryan Shotton and Andy Wilkinson? If he does, though, the foolish man, Stoke will turn to Wigan's Roberto Martínez, who will hopefully spend his time trying to turn Robert Huth into a ball-playing centre-half, Glenn Whelan into a playmaker and Cameron Jerome into a False Nine. Although some might say Jerome has already mastered that art. Also on Stoke's radar are Gus Poyet and Mark Hughes. One man who's definitely not off to the Britannia Stadium is José Mourinho, who's close to sealing his move to Chelsea. His arrival at Stamford Bridge could be bad news for David Luiz, with Mourinho not convinced that the Brazil ...
DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR MATA AT AWARDS CEREMONY Juan Mata has been crowned Chelsea Player of the Year for the second successive season. It was a night to remember for the Spaniard as he also picked up the Players' Player of the Year award. The club's annual ceremony, which took place in the Great Hall at Stamford Bridge, was hosted by Ed Chamberlain and Vicky Gomersall from Sky Sports, with five separate prizes handed out. The main award was voted for by supporters on this website, with Frank Lampard, David Luiz and Eden Hazard making up the final four nominations. Mata became only the fourth player to retain the trophy, adding his name to a list containing John Hollins, Ray Wilkins and Frank Lampard, and the 25-year-old was understandably delighted. 'I feel so happy,' he said. 'It's my second season here and winning the trophy two years in a row is amazing for me. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters and all my team-mates.' He went on to pay tribute to our supporters for their backing in last ni ...

1.If a competition has the word 'Euro' in it, Fernando Torres will score in the final and win it. Torres now has 2 Euros, a World Cup, a Champions League and a Europa League 2. In club level European finals, expect a late crucial goal being headed in off a Juan Mata corner. 3. Chelsea have had 3 European finals. John Terry captained one and lost. He wasn't part of the other two but Chelsea won. Karma at play? 4. It's unthinkable there is no talk of buying the likes of Eduardo Salvio and Nico Gaitan by the cash rich clubs. BIG MATCH REPORT: Manchester United 0-1 Chelsea What a Mata! And who deserves a big credit?..Man United 0 - Chelsea 1 Chelsea took a mighty stride towards a place in next season's Champions League as Juan Mata's deflected late winner earned victory over 10-man Manchester United. The drabbest of affairs seemed certain to end in a goalless stalemate until Mata's shot flicked off Phil Jones and crept in at the far post. United thought they should have had a free-kick earlier in the move and their frustrations boiled over as Rafael was sent off in the final minute for chopping down David Luiz. The result means victory for Chelsea against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday will seal a top-four spot thanks to their superior goal difference. It was just about a deserved success, although it was not a game that will live long in the memory. Although Unitd boss Sir Alex Ferguson insisted there would be no slackening off even though the title was won a fortnight ago, it was hard not to notice a slackening in ...

The only player who support Fernando Torres from the first day he join Chelsea are David Luiz,Juan Mata,Frank Lampard and John Terry
WONDERFUL SAVE!Juan Mata thinks he's in when he controls David Luiz's brilliant lofted pass,
FA CUP QUATERS::: VENUE: OLD TRAFFORD K.O: 4:30 pm GMT Probable line up for Chelsea: Peter Cech is the No.1 and in front of him in central-defense, any two of David Luiz, Gary Cahill, John Terry, or Branislav Ivanovic are possible. At right-back, the latter is in contention to start as is Cesar Azpilicueta. At left-back, Ashely Cole is expected to start. In Benitez's 4-2-3-1, two of Frank Lampard, John Obi Mikel, Ramires or Luiz are anticipated. In the attacking midfield line, playmakers Juan Mata, Oscar, and Eden Hazard are usually the first three considered but two of them could be complimented by the more defensively stable Ramires or Ryan Bertrand in the wide areas. Victor Moses is also a more direct option out wide. Up front, Demba Ba is expected to be chosen over Fernando Torres.
Here is how we line up in Bucharest Tonight: Czech, Ivanovic, David Luiz, terry, Bertrand, Lamps, Mikel, Hazard, Benayoun, Oscar, Torres. Ba not allowed to play for us in Europa League and Ramires not with the team. Mata and Cole on the bench. COMEEE ONNN CHELSEA!!!
MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 1 AND WESTBROM ALBION 0 Posted on: Sun 03 Mar 2013 Summary A single Demba Ba goal, scored from close-range in the first half, gave Chelsea a third home league win in a row. The Blues had the chances for more goals, Oscar in particular having a frustrating afternoon in front of the target, but it was a game that only found a high gear on a few occasions. The handful of times West Brom did threaten the Chelsea goal they found Petr Cech on-form and unbeatable. There was some neat approach play at times from the home team who claimed a deserved victory. Team News Frank Lampard returned to midfield to become Chelsea's joint third highest appearance maker of all-time and played alongside Ramires. Ahead was Juan Mata making it 100 Chelsea games in less than two years for the Spanaird who operated behind the returning Ba, with Oscar and Eden Hazard the wide midfielders. David Luiz partnered Branislav Ivanovic in central defence. West Brom, without on-loan Romelu Lukaku, were able to pass Sha ...
Rafa Benitez's week-to-forget ended on a high as his Chelsea side produced a commanding display to defeat West Brom. After criticising his own fans for their protests against him, the manager watched the Blues create more than 20 chances on goal, although the home side converted just one. That came in the first half when Demba Ba slotted in after David Luiz had headed Oscar's cross into his path. Juan Mata and Oscar also went close for Chelsea, who moved back into third. Oscar, arguably the man of the match, had a header and two shots saved by Ben Foster, and a strike blocked by Jonas Olsson. Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta saw his effort charged away by Liam Ridgewell. The Baggies' best efforts came late in the game when Petr Cech saved substitute Peter Odemwingie's powerful strike then produced a better save to prevent Azpilicueta from heading into his own net.
Stats; Tony Mowbray will be without defenders Justin Hoyte and Stuart Parnaby, meaning Andre Bikey should start at right-back with Stephen McManus alongside Rhys Williams at centre-back. Josh McEachran, currently on-loan from Chelsea, is ineligible to play against his parent club. Up front Lukas Jutkiewicz (ankle) is a doubt for the game, and so Curtis Main is on standby to support Scott McDonald. Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez should continue with Petr Cech in goal ahead of second-choice keeper Ross Turnbull, despite his tendency to rotate goalkeepers in the cup. Ryan Bertrand is likely to replace Ashley Cole at left-back, though, with John Terry set to partner David Luiz at centre-back and Branislav Ivanovic to start at right-back after Benitez ruled out Gary Cahill (virus) and Cesar Azpilicueta (leg). Juan Mata is likely to be rested for the tie to give Oscar a chance whilst Fernando Torres should also return to Benitez's team. Source: Goal.com
my soft spot for Chelsea keeps growing though. Stupid David Luiz and Juan Mata.
John Terry has to make do with a place on the substitutes' bench despite being deemed fit after missing the 4-1 victory over Wigan with a knee injury. Rafael Benitez makes three changes to the team which beat the Latics, with Ryan Bertrand, Marko Marin and Juan Mata replacing Ashley Cole, David Luiz (suspended) and Oscar.
Football - Europa League Matchpack: Sparta Prague v Chelsea Facts, stats, Team News and manager quotes ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Lyon's Europa League last 32 clash. Team News: The hosts will be without Jiri Jarosik, Pavel Kaderabek and Tomas Prikryl, all of whom are injured. The absence of midfielder and skipper Jarosik was described as "cruel" by his manager, as the former Czech international played for Chelsea seven years ago. Chelsea captain John Terry has made the trip to Prague despite missing the weekend win over Wigan with a knee injury. The 19-man squad did not include David Luiz, Demba Ba, Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel. Luiz is suspended, Ba ineligible after representing Newcastle in the competition, while Moses and Mikel miss out after winning the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria last Sunday. Gary Cahill, who was withdrawn from the Wigan win after suffering cramp, is available for selection by interim boss Rafael Benitez. Steve Sidwell, Mahamadou Diarra, Kerim Frei and Kieran Richardson are also injured but AC Milan loanee Urby Emanuelson could make his debut. Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand is in line for a recall, while fellow central defender Jonny Evans is fit again after a recent hamstring injury. However, winger Ashley Young (knee) is still out. Newcastle V Chelsea Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is expected to give home debuts to Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran, while Sylvain Marveaux is fit after a foot problem. The only absentees are the injured Hatem Ben Arfa and Cheick Tiote, who is on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations. MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 2 ARSENAL 1 Posted on: Sun 20 Jan 2013 Summary Stamford Bridge is smiling once again after two first-half goals proved enough to win this London derby against an Arsenal side who came back strongly after the interval. Juan Mata continued his run of scoring in every game he has started against Arsenal, netting early on, and Frank Lampard was yet again reliable from the penalty spot to double the advantage with quarter-of-an-hour gone of a game played in light snow throughout. Chelsea continued to play well up to the break but couldn't make the most of our chances. When Arsenal increased the tempo of their play after the break, our grip on the game slackened and Theo Walcott pulled a goal back. The Gunners continued to look the better side but it was more a case of pressure on the Blues defence than clear=cut chances, and Petr Cech was only occasionally called into action as our backline stood firm to secure all three points. Team News David Luiz was unavailable with a minor injury so ...
My favourites player is Juan Mata and David Luiz!! ;-)
Fernando Torres almost plays in Juan Mata, David Luiz almost plays in Oscar, Chelsea almost have a good chance. Almost.
Can't believe I actually met Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, Demba Ba, Juan Mata, Edin Hazard and the one and only David Luiz ... best day ever!
After a slow start in which the Blues went behind, two goals from debutant Demba Ba plus strikes from Victor Moses , Branislav Ivanovic and Frank Lampard maintained our unbeaten run in the FA Cup third round which stretches back to 1999. It was Ba with a close-range finish who levelled the scores, with Moses putting the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time. The second half was one-sided although Ross Turnbull pulled off a smart double save. Ivanovic headed his goal soon after the restart and after the impressive Ba had stretched the lead, the Senegalese striker was denied a hat-trick by a good save. Substitute Lampard from the penalty spot went level with Kerry Dixon as Chelsea's second highest goalscorer, and at the same time joined Bobby Tambling as the club's highest FA Cup scorer. He now has 25 goals in the competition. Team News It was instantly clear from the team selection that Rafael Benitiz is taking the FA Cup seriously. Back in came Juan Mata , Eden Hazard , Ramires and Ashley Cole who was ...
Premier League Team of the Week: Hat-trick hero Bale stars as Chelsea lead the way again: David Luiz, Juan Mata ...
Last mach Chelsea vs.Norwich . Our Chelsea won after Juan Mata great gol . :) In last few moments on the pitch came Nathan Ake.It was him debut in Premier Leauge. the highest score for this game was David Luiz . The worst, according to experts was Fernando Torres. We lose now only four points to Manchester City, and we have one meeting to catch up so the difference could change one points. :)
David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Juan Mata are all in the Premier League team of the week.
Juan Mata on David Luiz's impressive start in midfield: "I'm not surprised. I know that he's a very, very good player, top player."
Juan Mata on David Luiz: "He's able to play in different positions, at centre-back, in midfield. He's a complete football player."
What We Learned yesterday: 1.Juan Mata is Chelsea’s most crucial and best playmaker. 2.Fernando Torres is showing consistency. 3.David Luiz belongs in the midfield. 4.Gary Cahill is Chelsea’s best CB. 5.Rafael Benitez has proven that he is the right man for the job. Do you agree? D.
MATA FIRES CHELSEA TO VICTORY Juan Mata's first-half strike was enough to secure all three points for Chelsea as they beat Norwich in a game of little quality at Carrow Road. The win moves the Blues to within four points of second-placed Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League table but it was only a fantastic effort seven minutes from half-time that separated the two sides. Mata, who scored his sixth goal in eight games with aplomb, also missed a good opportunity with the scoreline 0-0 while Norwich had decent spells of possession but were too blunted in attack to ever truly test Petr Cech. Chelsea only had two long-range efforts from David Luiz in the opening 25 minutes and both were fired high and wide by the Brazilian. The Blues were almost ahead after 30 minutes as Luiz robbed Wes Hoolahan of the ball before picking out Mata, who shot into the side-netting when well placed. The sustained spell of Chelsea pressure eventually paid off and it was Mata who opened the goalscoring in style. The Spai ...

Chelsea: Interesting statistics from 2012/13 Some assorted statistics: – With six goals each, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata are Chelsea’s joint top-scorers so far. Mata has, however, reached that mark after 4 fewer starts in the Premier League. – Mata also ties the assist category with Belgian Eden Hazard (6 each), with the two players occupying joint second on the overall list. Again though, Mata has started four fewer games. – Outside of the back-four, John Obi Mikel has the highest pass-success rate in the squad (89.9%). – Gary Cahill and Fernando Torres both win, on average, 2.6 aerial duels per game, the most amongst Rafa Benitez’s squad. – David Luiz averages more defensive clearances (5.3) per game than any of his teammates. – Luis also leads his side in intercepts per game (1.8). – Oscar is dribbled more than any Chelsea player (1.4/game). – Gary Cahill blocks more shots per game (1.7) than any player in the Premier League. – John Obi Mikel commits on average more fouls per g ...
Here's how we line-up today against Corinthians in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup... Petr Čech, Ivanovic, Cahill, David Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard (c); Victor Moses, Juan Mata, Hazard; Fernando Torres. Subs: Turnbull, Hilario, Ferreira, Azpilicueta, Bertrand, Mikel, Saville, Oscar, Marin, Piazon. Can we do it?
Chelsea marked their Club World Cup debut with a comfortable victory over Mexican side Monterrey to secure their place in Sunday's final. Juan Mata put Rafael Benitez's side ahead in the 17th minute, sweeping home from inside the area. Play media Juan Mata Juan Mata opens scoring for Chelsea Fernando Torres's deflected goal just after the break made it 2-0 before Monterrey's Darvin Chavez turned Mata's cross into his own net soon after. Aldo de Nigris curled in a consolation for Monterrey in stoppage time. Chelsea will play Brazilian side Corinthians, who beat Al Ahly of Egypt 1-0 in the other semi-final. Monterrey, meanwhile, face Al Ahly in the third place play-off. The victory was rarely in doubt for Chelsea against a Monterrey side who showed plenty of endeavour but lacked bite in the final third. One of the main positives for the European Champions was the performance of defender David Luiz, who was employed as a makeshift midfielder to fill the void left by the injured Oriol Romeu. The Brazilian was ...
MATCH REPORT: MONTERREY 1 CHELSEA 3 Posted on: Thu 13 Dec 2012 SUMMARY On Sunday Chelsea will play for the right to be called club World Champions after a comfortable semi-final win in Yokohama. The Blues dominated almost all of the match&went into an early lead through Juan Mata who joined Fernando Torres as topscorer for the season on 11goals; that was until his compatriot netted his 12th moments after the start of the 2nd half. An own-Goal.completed the scoring on a night when we used the width of the pitch well&showed some bright imagination in attack. The Mexicans found it especially tough to live with Eden Hazard. Next up to test our improving form which has registered 3 wins in a row are South American champions Corinthians who were in the stadium to watch this game. Team News Rafael Benitez opted to give David Luiz his 1st start in midfield having tried the Brazilian there for a short period at the end of the Nordsjaelland home match. Ivanovic moved to CB with Cesar Azpilicueta coming in to the si ...
Ruefulness prevailed at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with Juan Mata and David Luiz lamenting Chelsea Football Club's elimination -positives can Chelsea take from this season's campaign?
MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 6 FC NORDSJAELLAND 1 Summary A record Champions League victory, complete with some sparkling football, was not enough to see us through to this competition's knockout stages. The fact Juventus won at Shakhtar Donetsk means we finish third in Group E, and will now take part in the reformatted Europa League for the first time. It renders an impressive display at Stamford Bridge relatively meaningless, though we did for the first time score six in a Champions League fixture, with goals coming from a David Luiz penalty after both sides had already missed from the spot, two from Fernando Torres, who had not scored in a month, and one apiece from Gary Cahill (pictured below), Juan Mata and Oscar, following four goals in 20 second-half minutes after Nordsjaelland had pulled one back immediately from the kick-off. The result brings a first win for Rafael Benitez, but the night will be remembered as the one the previous season's Champions League winners bowed out for the first time at the gro ...
Up Chelsea, Chelsea go into the game with Branislav Ivanovic playing at centre-back, as John Terry still recovers from his injury alongside Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge who also miss out. Oriol Romeu drops to the bench with Ryan Bertrand and Oscar, whilst David Luiz misses out completely. They make way for Gary Cahill, Jon Obi Mikel, Juan Mata and Victor Moses. The champions of Europe go to Upton Park still looking for their first win under Rafa Benitez, though despite failing to score since the Spaniard took over from Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea are also yet to concede.
Rafael Benitez's Chelsea side travel to take on West Ham in the early kick-off on Saturday in the Premier League. West Ham United (4-4-1-1): Jussi Jaaskelainen; Winston Reid, Joey O’Brien, James Collins, Guy Demel; James Tomkins, Matt Jarvis, Mark Noble, Gary O’Neil; Kevin Nolan; Carlton Cole. Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Petr Cech; Cesar Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole; John Obi Mikel, Ramires; Juan Mata, Victor Moses, Eden Hazard; Fernando Torres. West Ham continue with James Tomkins playing in midfield as he lines up alongside Mark Noble and Kevin Nolan for the Hammers. Gary O'Neil is chosen to play on the right, with Matt Jarvis on the left. Most strikingly, there is no Andy Carroll for the home side, with Carlton Cole starting up front.(carroll is injured) Chelsea are largely as expected, with Rafael Benitez continuing with the Mikel-Ramires double-pivot in midfield. Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta both start, with Branislav Ivanovic taking the place of David Luiz, who picked u ...
Fernando Torres Fernando Torres has been dropped to the bench for Chelsea 's crucial Champions League group-stage clash with Juventus . Eden Hazard will start as a false No.9 in the absence of the out-of-form Spaniard, with Juan Mata and Oscar tasked with providing the service for the tricky Belgian. In defence, Roberto Di Matteo shifts to a back three of Branislav Ivanovic, David Luiz and Gary Cahill, with the returning Ashley Cole andCesar Azpilicueta are expected to operate as wing-backs. Juventus, meanwhile, prefer Fabio Quagliarella to Sebastian Giovinco up front in what is otherwise a full-strength lineup. Juventus starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci; Lichtsteiner, Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah; Vucinic, Quagliarella Subs: Storari, Caceres, Pogba, Pepe, Giovinco, Giaccherini, Matri
West Brom maintained their impressive start to the season as they beat Chelsea 2-1 at The Hawthorns. Peter Odemwingie nodded in the winning goal early in the second half after Shane Long and Eden Hazard had also scored with close-range headers before the break. Roberto Di Matteo, on his return to West Brom, saw his side push hard for a second equaliser but they were unable to find a way past Boaz Myhill who was deputising for the injured Ben Foster in the Baggies goal. Chelsea were much changed as they had one eye on Tuesday's crunch clash with Juventus in the UEFA Champions League and left the likes of Ashley Cole, Ramires, Oscar and Juan Mata on the bench. And it showed in their sluggish start when Shane Long escaped the clutches of David Luiz to head past Petr Cech at the far post from a probing James Morrison cross. Chelsea enjoyed plenty of possession in the early stages but Long was a constant threat on the break and got the better of Gary Cahill on two occasions without finding the net. At the othe ...
Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo appears to have one eye on his side's Champions League game against Juventus in midweek. He makes five changes with centre-backs Gary Cahill and David Luiz, midfielder Oriol Romeu, winger Victor Moses as well as striker Daniel Sturridge starting. They replace Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, Ramires, Juan Mata and Oscar.
Premiership fact! David Luiz was given a Sideshow Bob birthday cake earlier this year by Juan Mata and the Chelsea squad.

What We Learned From The Shakhtar Match : 7.11.2012 94' minute, corner to Chelsea, Juan Mata to take... "Mata's ball in towards MOSES and Chelsea have won it at the death, incredible scenes here at Stamford Bridge!". That was the final play of the night as Chelsea won 3-2 against Shakhtar. An incredible has shown us an array of things. Scorers : Fernando Torres (6') Willian (9', 47') Oscar (40') Moses (94') What We Learned : 1. David Luiz continues to be woeful. 2. Juan Mata continues sensational form. 3. That's what Champions are made of. 4. Mikel-Ramires is the best combination. 5. Torres still not at his best. 1. David Luiz continues to be woeful : Just as I say almost every match, Gary Cahill has to take over as the other centre-beck next to John Terry. Cahill is, to me, more composed and a more skilled player than Luiz. While Luiz charms us with his occasional goal and his character, we must look at Cahill as our main CB after Terry. David Luiz had another poor night and was careless in possession as ...
Chelsea 3-2 Shakhtar: Late Moses magic pulls Blues backfrom brink Substitute heads home winner with the last touch of the game after the Blues were twice pegged back by the Ukrainian champions in a thrilling encounter By Greg Stobart at Stamford Bridge Nov 7, 2012 10:40:00 PM CL - Chelsea FC v FC Shakhtar Donetsk, VictorMoses, Juan Mata and Gary Cahill Chelsea always seem to find a way in the Champions League and Victor Moses was the hero as he headed a last minute winner against Shakhtar Donetsk to leave the defending champions joint-top of Group E. The substitute rose high in the last minute of added time to head home Juan Mata’s corner after a thrilling encounter in which they twicetook the lead but made poor defensive errorsas they were pegged back by the swift attacking movement of the Ukrainian champions. Shakhtar playmaker Willian - a transfer target for Chelsea and Tottenham - twice equalised for the visitors to cancel out Fernando Torres’sixth minute goal and a wonderful 45-yard strike fro ...
It finished 1-1 between Chelsea Football Club and Swansea City after 94 minutes of play in South Wales. It was a relatively boring match with few chances created and only 2 taken. Scorers : Victor Moses (61') Pablo Hernandez (88') What We Learned : 1. Without Mata, we struggle. 2. Without Terry, we struggle. 3. Gary Cahill is better than David Luiz. 4. Cesar Azpilicueta and Oriol Romeu are not yet ready to be starters. 5. Fernando Torres' inconsistency continues. 6. Victor Moses continues to impress. 1. Without Mata, we struggle : Juan Mata was rested v Swansea and it was only the second time this season that Juan Mata had been rested (QPR away), that match we drew 0-0 and following that match came Mata's stunning form. (Keep that in mind). With Oscar, Hazard and Moses the "trio" v Swansea, we lacked something in shape, size and form of Mata. We couldn't just surge forward and create opportunities which were limited in this match. We must find an alternative to Mata's creativity if we chose to rest him, b ...
RDM reports Juan Mata (hamstring) and David Luiz (ankle) are very doubtful for the game but Ashley Cole is back available.
Cesar Azpilicueta makes his first start for at Swansea. without Juan Mata & David Luiz. Full teams to follow.
And well I think it's safe to say that Chelsea need their big guns back. Aka, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Juan Mata & David Luiz, better then
Fair Play Enough ! Points Shared and Can't afford to Lose or Draw another Match, will say that Torres Needs To Score Or Otherwise make him play with reserves,We have had Too Much Faith On Him But time to time He is Not Playing as a striker needs to play. Next Up: Chelsea Vs Shakhtar Donetsk Need To Play M.Marin and Hope Juan Mata and David Luiz be Back For The Fixture Against Liverpool also Forgot to say the Legend F. Lampard and John Terry will also Be Back. Good Luck Chelsea For The Future.
Fair game from the European Champions. Yes, we missed Juan Mata and David Luiz, but not a bad show at all. We fall to second, meaning a Manchester City win takes us to third. But we are still perfectly within range.
Team News: Swansea City V CHELSEA Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses start their first league games for Chelsea with David Luiz and Juan Mata ruled out with injury.
Chelsea has received a huge blow to its offense as it will be without star midfielder Juan Mata for the near future...
Leaders Chelsea could be without central defender David Luiz and midfielder Juan Mata for Saturday's trip to Swansea City after they picked up ankle and hamstring injuries respectively in the League Cup.
David Luiz, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Ramires. These are just too special!
So both Juan Mata and David Luiz set to miss tomorrows match at Swansea so perhaps a first league start for Cesar ( Dave ) Azpilicueta
Two goals down inside 12 minutes, the leaders fought their way off the ropes to level through Juan Mata (44) and Ramires (53) and were looking likelier winners until Branislav Ivanovic was sent off on the hour. But a second red card for Fernando Torres meant the end of any genuine attacking ambition, and substitute Javier Hernandez bundled a contentious winner (75) to haul United within a point of the leaders and give them a first league success at Stamford Bridge since 2002. Despite the result there was plenty in Chelsea's performance to reinforce their credentials as real title challengers, though they were handicapped by a haphazard start as United's £24m man Robin Van Persie made one goal and scored another. United's defence was under scrutiny before the game following another porous display against Braga in midweek, but it was a home back four missing John Terry which was exposed during the opening exchanges as Ashley Cole was repeatedly isolated and David Luiz too often in a different district to G ...

Fifa and those that nominate candidate for the ballon d or award must be crazy and stupid for not nominating any current Chelsea players for this award, players like Juan Mata, Peter Cech, Fernando Torres,David luiz for the award. Dis is totally ojoro. I hope Cristiano Ronaldo wins the award,
It’s customary nowadays in the Premium league for referees to babysit Manchester United. After taking a deserved 2-0 lead over Chelsea in the first twenty minutes at Stamford Bridge, we saw a rejuvenated Chelsea side led by young Oscar in the last fifteen minutes of the first half creating serious problem for United both from open plays and set pieces, thereby forcing De Gae to make couple of good saves from David Luiz and Fernando Torres. In the last five minutes we witnessed a great work of art from Juan Mata from a set piece right outside the eighteen yard box curling the ball at the far right post to leave his Spanish counterpart in the Manchester United goal with little options. The first half ended 1-2 in favor of Man U. At the restart Oscar and Hazard formed a creative society in the middle of the park, creating plays that exposed the Man U defense and subsequently led to the equalizer from Ramirez. Mark Clattenburg the umpire of the match realized that Chelsea was too strong for Manchester Unite ...
I hate it when Teams apportion blame on referees for their defeat. Chelsea,Man Utd just like any other team have benefited from referee's decision before. THat's what makes the game very passionate. Here are several instances Chelsea has benefited from referee decisions in matches. 1. Chelsea vs Stoke City : David Luiz should have been given his marching orders for a cynical two footed takle on a Stoke City player precisely Jon Walters. Referee Chris Foy just handed him a yellow card much to the dismay of Stoke boss Tony Pulis. 2. Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur FA cup semi final: when Chelsea leading 1-0 were awraded a freak goal. Spurs, however, were left complaining bitterly that they were the victims of an injustice that swung the destiny of this all-London confrontation decisively in Chelsea's favour when referee Martin Atkinson made a crucial intervention just after the interval. Chelsea were leading through Didier Drogba's goal when Ledley King and Benoit Assou-Ekotto blocked Juan Mata's shot in a cha ...
Man United beat 9-man Chelsea with Chicharito offside goal, Chelsea accuse ref of racial abuse. Two questionable red cards and an offside goal helped Manchester United to their first win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League since 2002. After an entertaining first half that began with a David Luiz own goal in the fourth minute, a Robin Van Persie goal to put Man United up 2-0 in the 12th minute and a brilliant Juan Mata free kick just before halftime to give Chelsea an injection of confidence, referee Mark Clattenburg made himself the star of the match after a Ramires goal equalized for Chelsea in the 53rd minute. First, Clattenburg showed Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic a straight red when Ashley Young went down as he was breaking towards goal in the 63rd minute. Just five minutes later, Clattenburg booked Fernando Torres for a second time for going down even though Jonny Evans caught Torres' shin with his boot. That got Torres sent off just as Chelsea were preparing to sub him out ...
Fact: Juan Mata made David Luiz a birthday cake and it had Sideshow Bob on it! aha
The Stamford Bridge in London hosts what could eventually prove to be the most gruelling EPL match for the season as Chelsea clash with Man U. It couldn't have come at a better time! Chelsea are still riding on the impetus generated from last year's somewhat fortitous Champions League victory but at the same time, did the right thing of signing Hazard and Oscar, who, together with Juan Mata, form a deadly attacking prowess that can destroy any team on the planet. The three, complimeneted by others such as David Luiz-who is solid in defence and Ashley Cole, are the main reason behind the Blues' good start to the season. If it had not been for the laxity and lucklustre approach of chief striker, Fernando Torres, Chelsea would have scored dozens of goals more than what they have thus far. On the other hand, Man U still grapple with defensive frailties, and that makes it very interesting coming up against the harzadous trio. That could be the major determining factor on Sunday. However, for their part, Manu U ...
Fantastic match for Juan Mata, David Luiz's hair still looks better than mine, and now, let's see what Barcelona does against Deportivo...
The "who" to be d nxt chelsea skipper is currently rocking Stamford Bridge. Peter Cech wud av been d most suitable but, for concentration, communication n co-ordination reason, I don't buy d idea of giving it to d goalie n Ivanovic seems to be somehow gentle or better put, reserved, I go for David Luiz or Juan Mata. Who do u think d cap fits? Up Chelsea!!! Kill dem all.
Juan Mata says he has no problems in sharing free kick duties between Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard or David Luiz.
Gofaone Fifa Mpho shared the following link: defender David Luiz and winger Juan Mata are ready to battle it out for set-piece duties

Double goalscorer Juan Mata felt we deserved victory in Denmark last night, even if the 4-0 scoreline eventually flattered us...
More reaction to yesterday's win, this time from goalscorers Juan Mata and David Luiz:
Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo admitted his side had been slightly fortunate to come away with a 4-0 win over Danish minnows FC Nordsjaelland in their second Champions League outing. The result left the defending Champions Level on points with forthcoming opponents Shakhtar Donetsk at the top of Group E, but the visitors had to weather several uncomfortable moments at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium. Had Petr Cech not clawed Joshua John's shot onto the post in the 73rd minute, Chelsea would have seen the advantage procured by Juan Mata's 33rd-minute opener cancelled out by their enterprising opponents. However, Cech produced what Di Matteo described as "a crucial save", and further goals from David Luiz, Mata and Ramires added a slightly misleading gloss to what had been a far from fluent performance. "We expected a difficult game and that's exactly how it turned out to be," said the Italian, who led Chelsea to a penalty shoot-out victory over Bayern Munich in last season's final. "We were a bit slow out of ...

Belarus champions BATE Borisov caused the shock of the night when they beat last season's finalists Bayern Munich 3-1 for their first ever home win in the Champions League on Tuesday. Goals by Aleksandr Pavlov, Vitali Rodionov and Renan Bressan took them top of Group F after they recorded their first victory in the competition against Lille two weeks ago having failed to win any of their 12 games from last season and 2008-09. Unlike Bayern, European Champions Chelsea had no problem as they brushed aside debutants FC Nordsjaelland 4-0 in Group E in Copenhagen with Juan Mata netting twice and David Luiz and Ramires also on the scoresheet. Barcelona enjoyed a 2-0 triumph over old rivals Benfica in Lisbon where Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas scored in Group G. However the victory was marred as defender Carles Puyol fell awkwardly and dislocated his left elbow in the later stages and Sergio Busquets was sent off in the 89th minute. Celtic got their first away victory in the competition since 1986 as Giorgios ...
Chelsea routed Norwegian outfit Nordsjaelland with Juan Mata's double, an unstoppable free-kick from David Luiz and a Ramires strike earning the Blues a 4-0 victory which kick-started the defence of their Champions League title. Frank Lampard was involved in the build-up for the first after the hosts gave away the balldeep in their own half and Mata made no mistake from 10 yards out with 33 minutes of the contest gone. Deefnder Luiz struck a stunning free-kick from 25-yards out with 11 minutes remaining and three minutes after that Mata popped up to double his tally for the night. And the holders' night was rounded off in style in the last minute by Ramires. The Blues were by no means the dominant side but will be happy with a job well done before they head to Ukraine to face Shakhtar Donetsk later this month in matchday three. More to follow... Mata of fact: The Spaniard scored two for Chelsea as the holders edged past the Norwegians
I want Obi Mikel to make way for David Luiz in holding midfield to work with Lampard. Cahill with Terry in Central defence. Oscar behind Torres (Studrrige). Hazard given free role. Then we will beat Stoke City this weekend. I will not mind playing Marko Marin instead of Juan Mata just 2moro.
My team line up today is,, Peter Czech, John Terry, Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Garry Cahill, midfielders,,, Frank Lampard, Juan Mata, Mikel Obi, Ramires, Front,, Fernando Torres, Hazard, Oscar. get it right guys?
I think Chelsea in the presence of John Terry and David Luiz and Juan Mata and Lampard and Hazard and a strong El Nino Torres our team.
*Hazard cost £32m?! He did nothing and slipped on his face trying to do a fancy *** backheel! He's a B-grade Joe Cole. Waste of money, sell him NOW!!! * Torres scored a goal OMG! He's back, he's really, really back! * Tevez and Aguero best strike partnership since Cole-Yorke and Shearer-Ferdinand! * Yaya Toure for Player of the Year! * David Luiz is the worst European Cup winner ever! Where did he learn to defend? From Gilles Grimandi?! * Juan Mata is having second season syndrome! Bench him! * Pantilimon is pants! Joe Hart is the best and English! * Balotelli caught sulking on camera! PSG are preparing a bid for him now! * RDM OUT!
David Luiz, Petr Cech, & Juan Mata will be good for cover. Actually I wanna put Drogba if he still in Chelsea...
I would like to see Juan Mata, Ramires, and David Luiz on the cover. :-)
i love juan mata, David Luiz and Eden Hazard
David Luiz will not be involved in the 2012 Olympics having not made the Brazil squad after it was reduced to 18 players. The 25-year-old was named in an initial list of 35 players at the end of last month but is not one of his nation's three over-age players involved in what is largely an Under-23 tournament. Daniel Sturridge and Ryan Bertrand are the two Chelsea players definitely part of an Olympic squad (TeamGB) with Juan Mata and Oriol Romeu in Spain's 22-man squad which is yet to be cut down to the final 18.
Di Matteo will find it hard to snub a competition that has offered a number of other recent Chelsea bosses a chance of early silverware. Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo will this season have to take a decision no manager relishes: which trophies to give up on before the season has started. The Blues are up for an unprecedented seven trophies in the 2012/13 campaign: the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, FA Community Shield, Champions League, European Super Cup and World Club Cup. If conventional logic says it is folly to fight on seven fronts at once, a look at the fixture schedule shows that to attempt to do so could be suicidal for Chelsea’s season. From the very start, Blues suffer for the success they achieved last season. On 12 August they are pitched into an FA Community Shield game at Villa Park, not their happiest of hunting grounds, against Manchester City. They are likely to be without Olympic stars including Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu, David Luiz, Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge for this matc ...
I'm very very 4 da players 4fm The Blues that have been called up 4 da national in search of OLYMPIC GOLD,Daniel Sturridge and Ryan Bertrand(GB),Juan Mata and Oriol Romeu(ESP)and David Luiz 4 Brazil, make us proud guys
When David Luiz kissed Juan Mata on the forehead.
Did Petr Cech get a hand on that penalty from Schweinsteiger? If so it was a great save. Ivica Olic was the other Bayern player to falter, his was a poor effort. Juan Mata missed for Chelsea, another poor effort, but hats off to Ashley Cole and David Luiz in particular for exceptional penalties. Luiz hared in off a run-up a fast bowler would be proud of. Bang.
Juan Mata missed Chelsea's first penalty but David Luiz, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole were all successful. Philipp Lahm, Mario Gomez and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer were all on target for Bayern. The momentum shifted decisively when Cech denied Ivica Olic and Bastian Schweinsteiger hit the post to leave Chelsea on the brink and present Drogba with his moment of destiny.

The referee ends the second half. Bayern 1-1 Chelsea. Extra time beckons. Graham Hunter, Fußball Arena München: It may actually signify nothing which will change the destiny of this trophy but there is far more physio activity going on in the huddle of Chelsea players on the ground as numerous physios work *** Frank Lampard, Juan Mata and David Luiz. Some remedial work is being done on the home team, but far less.
Why is AVB in the stands behind David Luiz & Gary Cahill? Oh, no, it's just Juan Mata.
Juan Mata - 'Lucas Piazon is like Ramires' and David Luiz' younger brother. He is quick, fast, a typical Brazilian. He'll play next season.'
''Ramires is very funny. He's a close friend with David Luiz..He speaks English a little bit, but I think he doesn't like to say so"Juan Mata
"David Luiz, Ramires, Raul Meireles, Daniel Sturridge, there is a very good group of players." Juan Mata
Enough has been said, Chelsea Football Club, do London and furthermore the world proud. Ramires, run like crazy. Fernando Torres, confidence is the key. Branislav Ivanovic, bully those strikers together with Ashley Cole. Juan Mata, use that left leg skillfully. David Luiz, if u play clear that ball. Man I do love my Team.
My current three favourite people in football. 1. Juan Mata 2. David Luiz. 3. 'King Kenny.'
