DAVID LUIZ TO BARCELONA FINALLY A DONE DEAL. (Courtois & Hazard still on the move) Stamford Bridge star set for Nou Camp switch. Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with David Luiz over a potential summer move to the Nou Camp. The Catalan club have been actively pursuing a long term replacement for Carles Puyol, who is set to leave Barcelona, and have identified the 26 year old Chelsea fan favourite as the man for the job. Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is said to have secured terms with Luiz that would see the former Benfica man sign a five year deal worth around £4.5m a year. Chelsea has agreed a £25m with Barcelona for the Brazilian international who has been something of a bit-part player this season. Luiz was a key member of the Chelsea sides that won the Champions League and Europa League titles but has started less than half of the west London club’s Premier League fixtures this term and has more frequently been used in a defensive midfield role. Chelsea signed Luiz in Ja ...

sign Borussia Dortmund defender Barcelona have solved their defensive dilemma according to AS who have revealed that the club have already agreed a deal for Mats Hummels. The Borussia Dortmund defender looks to be on his way to the Nou Camp after spending five years under Jurgen Klopp. Hummels has a market value of £23 million so it is believed that negotiations have been arranged around this figure. Questions were being raised whether the club would try and keep Carles Puyol on at the club after the initial transfer ban at the start of April which ruled them out from buying players for 14 months. However, after the club made their appeal yesterday, the ban has been suspended which will allow the club to make transfers from the 1st July. Barcelona are also believed to be in talks with Chelsea over the signing of David Luiz for a fee of around £25 million. It is also understood that the Catalan club are closing in on deals for Alex Halilovic and goalkeeper, Marc-André Ter Stegen. Klopp, who recently rul ...
[Football Barcelona are keen to bring Chelsea defender David Luiz at Camp Nou this summer as replacement for Carles Puyol.
Barcelona have been given a 14-month transfer ban for breaking rules on signing international players under 18. The Catalan club cannot buy players until the summer of 2015 after FIFA imposed a transfer ban for the next two transfer windows. The Spanish champions have also been fined 450,000 Swiss Francs. Barcelona have confirmed they will appeal to FIFA against the decision. This will have a serious effect on the ageing squad of FC Barcelona. Víctor Valdés will almost certainly leave the club, and if the rule persists, Barcelona will not able to sign Marc-Andre Ter Stegen of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Ter Stegen has said that he will leave Gladbach this summer, and it is certain he will not wait for a year to join Barcelona. Then there is Carles Puyol, who has decided to leave the club at the end of the season. Barcelona was looking at David Luiz and Mats Hummels as a replacement, but they cannot sign him if the decision remains unchanged. A great relief for Chelsea Football Club! Then Manchester City ...

Belarus champions BATE Borisov caused the shock of the night when they beat last season's finalists Bayern Munich 3-1 for their first ever home win in the Champions League on Tuesday. Goals by Aleksandr Pavlov, Vitali Rodionov and Renan Bressan took them top of Group F after they recorded their first victory in the competition against Lille two weeks ago having failed to win any of their 12 games from last season and 2008-09. Unlike Bayern, European champions Chelsea had no problem as they brushed aside debutants FC Nordsjaelland 4-0 in Group E in Copenhagen with Juan Mata netting twice and David Luiz and Ramires also on the scoresheet. Barcelona enjoyed a 2-0 triumph over old rivals Benfica in Lisbon where Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas scored in Group G. However the victory was marred as defender Carles Puyol fell awkwardly and dislocated his left elbow in the later stages and Sergio Busquets was sent off in the 89th minute. Celtic got their first away victory in the competition since 1986 as Giorgios ...
Barcelona Look to Conduct Triple Chelsea Raid According to Mundo Deportivo Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova has earmarked moves for Chelsea defenders David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic as he looks to beef up his defensive options this summer. The Nou Camp side have had to play players out of position over the past couple of seasons as the likes of Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique have struggled with injuries and with Eric Abidal not certain to make a comeback following a liver transplant it seems sensible for Vilanova to plan for a defensive signing or two. Other targets named by this source include Matts Hummels and Thiago Silva but moves to bring either of the Blues pair could prove easier to secure. Roman Abramovich will surely fight off advances for any of his top performers as the Chelsea owner looks to continue to flex his financial muscles having already snapped up Marko Marin and Eden Hazard for a combined fee in the region of £38m. Chelsea brought in Gary Cahill to help beef up their central defensive o ...
OME GOOD NEWS, A BIT OF BAD NEWS FOR GOONERS? A little Arsenal round-up now, and the first thing to note is that Arsene Wenger seems to think the Olivier Giroud deal is nearly done. Details on that one here. Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror reports that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is all set for a new contract at the club, a deal which will apparently TREBLE (their capitals, not ours) his £15,000-a-week wages. However, the paper also carries a photo of Thomas Vermaelen and Carles Puyol in a restaurant in Ibiza. But what does this mean? Well, probably nothing, but the paper does claim the Belgian defender is on 'Barcelona's short-list', along with Vincent Kompany and David Luiz.
