Thanks to Frank Lampard, Samuel Eto'o, Demba Ba, Ashley Cole, David Luiz and Fernando Torres for all the great moments.
What do we need Sami Khedirat for? Honestly, he is good, but with d crop of players in chelsea now, I don't think we need him, unless Remiras will have problem because I know Matic can't stay on d bench as far as Mourinho is concerned. Okey, if he comes to chelsea, what will be d hope of the Oscar! I just discovered that Jos Mourinho never like the players he met during this second stint at chelsea. Let's take a reflection, Torres, Demba Ba, Lampard, Ashley Cole, Essien, Lukaku, Juan Mata, De Brune, David Luiz etc and now Cech will soon go. Oscar will follow suit I guess. What about Mikel, on d bench. The players Jos Mourinho fashion and fancy most are his back four which are John Terry, Azpiliqueta, Cahill and Ivan Novic, this is because they(back four) have unity at d back, and guess what, if Magala had come to Chelsea, who would have been on d bench by now, I know Cahill, Azpiliqueta and Ivanovic can't be on d bench, but would he have benched d captain of chelsea for Mangala! Now the question is why di ...
5 REASONS WHY CHELSEA WILL WIN THE Premier League THIS SEASON 1) A NEAR-PERFECT TRANSFER WINDOW: Most people would agree that among all the Premier League clubs, Chelsea probably had the best transfer window. They did their business early, and addressed every area that wasn’t good enough last season. A central midfielder and a centre-forward were needed, and in came Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa. These deals were completed even before the World Cup started. Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis also came in for the outgoing Ashley Cole. Despite spending over £85 million, Chelsea’s net spending was negligible, as David Luiz and Romelu Lukaku were sold for £50 million and £28 million respectively. 2) STUNNING STARTS BY THE NEWCOMERS: A big advantage of bringing in players so early on in the transfer window was that they had time to gel in with the rest of the squad. Fabregas and Costa participated extensively in pre-season and found their feet within the Chelsea side. Consequently, their start to co ...
Despite finishing third in the Premier League last season behind Liverpool and champions Manchester City, Chelsea have been installed as favourites by bookmakers and pundits alike for the forthcoming campaign. The reasoning is relatively easy to understand. Jose Mourinho spent much of his first year back at Stamford Bridge talking about the Blues being a team in transition and lamenting the profligacy of his strikers. So when the 2013-14 campaign concluded without any silverware to add to the collection already gleaming in owner Roman Abramovich's extensive cabinet, the Portuguese moved swiftly to address perceived deficiencies. - Toe Poke: Costa scores stunner, avoids horror injury - Lythell: Chelsea taking shape Club legends Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard were allowed to leave while David Luiz, Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba were sold and Samuel Eto'o released. Arriving in SW6 came prolific striker Diego Costa, his former Atletico Madrid teammate Filipe Luis, ex-Arsenal and Barcelona midfield playmaker Cesc ...
as promised earlier, we bring you a list of the completed transfers. We begin by looking at 5 Barclays Premier League clubs. Arsenal have shown an intent to add on their squad to better their chances of improving on their FA cup win. They have acquired Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. They have however lost long serving defender Bacary Sagna alongside Lukasz Fabianski and Nicklas Bendtner. Chelsea have also begun strengthening their squad by acquiring Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Mario Pasalic. Moving out are David Luiz, Samuel Eto'o, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Thorgan Hazard and Mark Schwazer. Liverpool have brought in Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can while talismanic striker Luiz Suares has moved out alongside Luis Alberto. Manchester City have signed Fernando, Sagna and Willy Caballero as Pantilimon,Lescott and Gareth Barry move out. Machester United have brought in Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Vanja Milinkovic. Moving out are Vidic, Buttner, Macheda, Ferdinand and Giggs.
Chelsea just won't be the same anymore too since Lampard, David Luiz and Ashley Cole left .
Samuel Eto'o is gone. Henrique Hilario is gone. Ashley Cole is gone. Hutchinson is gone. David Luiz is gone. One can expect breathe-taking signing from Chelsea's Jose Mourinho in the coming weeks. I am anxious already!
Chelsea are confident that Luis is keen to join them and line up alongside current team-mate Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge next season. Manager Jose Mourinho has already bolstered his squad by signing Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona for £28.4m and a deal worth up to £35m for Costa is expected to be completed imminently. Chelsea have money to spend following the combined £52m sales of Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne in January, and by off-loading David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain for an initial £40m this summer. Brazil international Luis has been targeted by Mourinho to replace Ashley Cole, who will leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his contract expires this month.
Ok so Chelsea has lost Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, David Luiz and now maybe Hazard. And they have got Costa
Ashley Cole the best left back the Premier League has ever seen, Frank Lampard the all time cfc leading goal scorer and David Luiz, yeah...
*Ike Casillas, Pepe, Kaka, Benzema all deserve to sit on the bench *Playing Karim Benzema up front is like hunting with a old cat *Barcelona players are all playing like ladies soccer style *I can't coach CRZ because he thinks he knows all in football with a bad atittude *Ashley Cole can be good when he playing for Chealse Legends A *Demba Ba, Torres and Samuel Eto'o are Chealse solid defenders *I don't understand David Luiz's style of play *Hazard doesn't want to mark, but is the first one to call for the ball *I think Samuel Eto'os really age is 45 or above *Arsene Wenger is a master of failure ONLY ONE MAN SAID ALL THIS WORDS, JOSE MOURINO I think this madala ubulawa zi drugs
YOU DON'T BELIEVE THIS?THEN WAKE UP FROM YOUR DREAM!!! *Lampard out, Fabregas in: Is this Chelsea's line-up next season? Chelsea won nothing in Jose Mourinho's return to the club last season. They finished third in the Premier League and were knocked out of the FA and League Cups in the fifth round and crashed out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid at the semi-final stage. Mourinho lambasted the lack of firepower at his disposal, which is likely to be remedied by the arrival of £32m Spain striker Diego Costa, with Atletico manager Diego Simeone confirming he would not stand in the player's way if he wanted to leave. In the middle, long-serving Frank Lampard has decided to leave the club after 13 years and as a result the Blues have been linked with a £30m transfer for ex- Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas , something Spain-based journalist Graham Hunter believes will happen. At the back, though Ashley Cole and David Luiz have left to seek pastures new, John Terry earned himself a new one-year contr ...

I honestly feel that the next big press conference with Jose Mourinho will be a very interesting one With players like Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Mark Schwazer, Samuel Eto'o, David Luiz, Henrique Hilario and Sam Hutchinson having left the club; it comes down to all the various reasons behind it I personally would like to know if Mourinho will be bringing in players extensively in the transfer window or if he will be promoting youth? Or whether this will be a blend of youth and fresh talent?
Didier Drogba . Juan Mata. Ashley Cole. David Luiz ... and now Frank Lampard.and i,ve just realized that these were 5 players who took penalty kick at champion league final at munich and now they are all gone.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has confirmed he has left the club. Lampard joins Ashley Cole, David Luiz and Samuel Eto'o in leaving.
What has happened at this football club in the last two months is quite honestly disturbing. We have had Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Samuel Eto'o and Frank Lampard now leave the club. Although from a neutral point of view; this may seem insignificant; that is a HUGE dent to our squad size. I myself am quite sad to see Frank Lampard go! I always thought that if Ryan Giggs can stay at Man United till the age of 40; surely so can our living legend Frank Lampard A little confused and bemused at the moment. What are your thoughts? (note - this is a mature discussion; don't swear or you will be banned, Thanks!)
So far we've lost Ashley Cole, David Luiz and Frank Lampard in one window. What a tough time for us Blues huh?
I tuned into my copy of the 2012 Champions League Final. You know, the one in which we beat Bayern Munich, in their own backyard, to win the trophy for the first time in our history. But one thing struck me, namely just how much the squad has changed. Take a look for yourselves:- Starting XI v Bayern • Petr CechJose Bosingwa (gone) • Gary Cahill • David Luiz (gone) • Ashley Cole (going) • John Obi MikelFrank Lampard (going) • Juan Mata (gone) • Ryan BertrandSalomon Kalou (gone) • Didier Drogba (gone) Subs v Bayern • Ross Turnbull (gone) • Paulo Ferreira (retired) • Michael Essien (gone) • Oriol RomeuFlorent Malouda (gone) • Daniel Sturridge (gone) • Fernando Torres Gone - 9 Retired - 1 Going - 2 Futures in doubt - Bertrand, Romeu, Mikel, Now that is some turnover considering the game was a little over 2 years ago! source : www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk
Chelsea are preparing a €100million offer for Atletico Madrid trio Diego Godin, Filipe Luisand Diego Costaaccording to Spanish reports. Following a mediocre season which resulted in missing out on both the Premier Leagueand the Champions League, Chelsea are planning on making big strides next season. It is all set up for a busy summer in West London, with the departures of Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Samuel Eto’o and David Luiz just being the beginning. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to build a new era at the club, and it appears Russian owner Roman Abramovich is on board and willing to back him heavily in the transfer market. According to the Spanish press AS, the Bluesare plotting a €100million raid on recent La Ligawinners Atletico Madrid. Here are the three names the Premier League club are reportedly preparing to break the bank for: Diego Costa: Brazilian-born Spanish international Diego Costa has been in lethal form for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring 36 goals in 52 appearances through ...
SCRUTINY OF CFC'S PLANS FOR NEXT AUTUMN Olufemi PETERS With the just concluded Premier League season upon us, many English clubs have begun plans for next season by wheeling and dealing in players that could help achieve their goals for the next season, not without some players leaving though. Chelsea Football Club, subsequent to a somewhat dissapointing season after going trophyless. despite coming close in the Ucl and Epl. has been steadily but quietly going about its transfer plans. Starting with the release of legendary left back, Ashley Cole, it is evident the club has an eye on the future. Asides Cole's release, England's model of consistency, Frank Lampard has also been "released" by the Champions League semi-finalists. David Luiz as at the time of writing this piece is a PSG player after transfer negotiations between the Parisien and London based club- to a tune of $50million. There have been growing indications that the club's long serving steward, Petr Cech could be put up for sale to facili ...
Chelsea set to complete £51m triple signing Mourinho Chelsea look set to raid Atletico Madrid as they're reportedly very close to completing deals for Diego Costa, Filipe Leuis and Tiago. According to the Daily Express, the triple signing will cost Chelsea 51m but they look set to recoup a significant chunk of that once the David Luiz to Paris Saint Germain deal is completed. The Brazilian is expected to cost PSG up to 50m, which looks like good business for the Blues and should mean they avoid FFP sanctions. The report claims Chelsea are ready to trigger Luis's 19m release clause in his Atletico contract. Mourinho wants the Brazilian left-back to replace the departed Ashley Cole. Despite reports to the contrary, it's thought Luke Shaw is viewed as too expensive at Chelsea and they believe they'll get better value for money with Luis. They hope to complete everything before the World Cup, while talks between Atletico and Chelsea over Diego Costa are moving forward and close to completion. Tiago would be ...
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in luring four of Atletico Madrid's Champions League finalists to Stamford Bridge. English paper,The Telegraphsays Mourinho is confident of finalising the £32 million transfer of Atlético Madrid striker Diego Costa now that the Champions League final is out of the way, but he will still look to add more goals to his squad. Options Other than signing Costa and bringing goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois back to the club, Chelsea are interested in two more Atlético players. Left-back Filipe Luis is one of the options being looked at as a replacement for Ashley Cole, while central defender Joao Miranda is being considered to help replace David Luiz and put pressure on captain John Terry
David Luiz’s move to PSG has all but been completed and many Chelsea fans have hailed it as a good piece of business. Forty million for a player who isn’t an automatic starter and a twenty million turnover on his original purchase has been perceived as sound business sense. However, David Luiz is no ordinary footballer. He has a character and presence rare amongst modern footballers. With Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole being released, Chelsea are in need of leaders and David Luiz would have provided that leadership. His enthusiasm, joy and passion are second to none amongst the Chelsea playing staff. Obviously you don’t play players based on personality alone, but David Luiz is also an unbelievable talent. Barcelona wouldn’t come knocking if he was simply an error prone centre back as many imagine him to be. Some of his performances this season in the holding midfield role have been sublime. His performance against Manchester City, where him and Matic completely shut down the most potent attack in ...
What a season for football, David Moyes leaves Everton to join Manchester United, winning the Community Shield in his first game before being sacked with 3 games to spare after guaranteeing no European football next season, Ryan Giggs becomes caretaker manager until the end of the season. Then retires from Football to become assistant manager to Louis Van Gaal, Liverpool throw a 5 point lead with 3 games to finish second and diminish their chances of winning their first League Championship in over 20 years. West Ham do a league and cup treble over Spurs, Arsenal win their first major trophy in 9 years. Atletico defy the odds and win their first La Liga since 1997 ahead of the big two in Barcelona and Real Madrid, Ashley Cole retires from International Football and David Luiz becomes the worlds most expensive Defender!! And that is why Football is the best and most entertaining sport in the world!!!

Champions League Team News: - Atletico Madrid v Chelsea: Samuel Eto'o was absent with a knee injury as Chelsea travelled to Atletico Madrid for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg. Eden Hazard was in the squad despite a two-week absence with a calf injury, but Branislav Ivanovic is suspended, meaning David Luiz could play at right-back or Ashley Cole could return on the left. Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah are ineligible after playing for other clubs earlier in the competition. Provisional squad: Cech, Cole, Luiz, Ramires, Lampard, Torres, Oscar, Mikel, Schurrle, Van Ginkel, Hazard, Ba, Willian, Schwarzer, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Kalas, Hilario, Ake.
The unavailability of Eden Hazard for the tomorrow's game is not worrying me. I expect Jose to go with a total defensive strategy. We can either have Willian Oscar or Schurrle in the attacking three or we can sit back even more and play with Willian Oscar and Ramires in the attacking three and Mikel/Lampard and Luiz in the defensive mid. Ivanovic wont be there either. Cesar Azpilicueta might be given a shot at his original position(RB) with Ashley Cole returning to the line up or David Luiz could play as a right back. A very crucial game for Chelsea if they want to win a trophy this season!
Things i learned about my blue team yesterday: 1) We can very much play, perform and win without. Hazard. its just that when he plays he the quality of the games increases 10 fold. 2) The three striker formation can be used. Note this was one of the reasons behind Mou's success at Chelsea during his first reign. 3) Ivanovic is like a tank that can run just as fast as he can defend. 4) Azpilicueta is pure class and we might have found a replacement for the aging Ashley Cole. 5) Gary Cahill and John Terry are like brick walls. nothing but respect for their performances. 6) David Luiz is definitely growing up and is taking up responsibilities. 7) Torress can very much play. *** of of way to shut up his haters like a said before. he performs when his team needs him the most. 8) The Schurre is one *** of a player. and he is and william along with oscar hazard and salah are going to rip defensive walls apart next season. 9) Petr Cech grows everygame. wiser every game. i wonder how much he worked to make that .. ...

MOURINHO: FINE MARGINS Posted on: Fri 14 Mar 2014 The Blues will go in search of a third consecutive win at Villa Park tomorrow, but with the match preceding Tuesday's Champions League clash with Galatasaray, Jose Mourinho is keen for his side to take one game at a time. Having conducted his previous two press conferences at Stamford Bridge, today's was held in the familiar surroundings of Cobham, where the Portuguese was greeted by the assembled media. Mourinho reported tomorrow's game comes too soon for injured defenders David Luiz and Ashley Cole, but he may be able to call on the services of Fernando Torres, after the striker limped out of the warm-up ahead of last week's win against Tottenham. 'We will have no David and no Ashley,' he said when asked on the availability of the defensive pair. 'Fernando is much, much better. Maybe I'll take him tomorrow, maybe I won't take him and I'll try everything for Tuesday. It depends on today's training and conversations after the session, but yesterday he look ...

Mourinho blasts international fixtures after David Luiz picked up a knock while on international duty with Brazil: Jose Mourinho has expressed his dissatisfaction with the impact that the midweek international schedule has had on his Chelsea squad. The Premier League leaders host Tottenham on Saturday but the Portuguese manager claims that his pre-match preparations have been disrupted by the intrusion of international call-ups. Eden Hazard has been able to shake off the ankle injury he sustained while representing Belgium, but David Luiz will miss the visit of Tim Sherwood's side after suffering a knock in Brazil's 5-0 triumph over South Africa. With Ashley Cole having injured his knee in training, Mourinho was left to rue the consequences of having a squad full of players who regularly play for their country. "Hazard is good (but) we have some other problems," he said. "Ashley Cole got an injury in training yesterday (Thursday) and is out of the game. "We want always to respect the desire and pride of p ...

Mourinho Press Conference Jose Mourinho addressed the media at Stamford Bridge, rather than Cobham, ahead of tomorrow's London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, with the Blues boss stressing the importance of taking points off one of those teams competing for a place in the top four. The Portuguese covered a range of topics in front of the assembled journalists, and first was an update regarding the fitness of three players.Eden Hazard played 28 minutes of Belgium's midweek draw against Ivory Coast, but picked up a knock shortly after coming on.Mourinho, however, reported he is fit to play tomorrow, although Ashley Cole will miss the game, while there are also doubts over whether David Luiz will recover in time from the injury he sustained in Brazil's 5-0 win over South Africa.'Hazard is good, we have some other problems, we don't know if they can recover, but Hazard looks good, no problem,' said the Portuguese.' England host Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday evening, with Frank Lampard, Gary Cahill and Ashley Cole all in Roy Hodgson's squad for the game. It is the final time the Three Lions will take to the pitch before the England boss names his provisional squad in mid-May, with the final 23 set to be announced after the friendly with Peru on 30 May. All four of our Brazilians - Ramires, Oscar, David Luiz and Willian - have been selected in Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad for a friendly with South Africa in Johannesburg on Wednesday. A squad of 21 players is travelling from London to Istanbul today (Monday) ahead of Wednesday's Champions League Round of 16 first- leg match. David Luiz and John Mikel Obi are both included. They missed Saturday's win over Everton due to injury and Oscar also travels. Henrique Hilario is the third goalkeeper having been added, along with Tomas Kalas , to the Champions League squad A-List for the knockout phase. Nathan Ake is the one young player from the B-List travelling. Experience is needed in the team but ikanyanyisa kuwanda inogona kukuwadza team.Chelsea has got a lot of ageing players and most of them had become liabilities.New blood is needed at Chelsea and mix them with those ageing players. With these players: John Terry (45) Samuel Eto'o (43) Ashley Cole (38) Garry Cahil (37) Fernando Torres (38) Ramires (34) Obi Mikel (37) David Luiz (35) Frank Lampard (44) Demba Ba (39) Chelsea wont go anywhere with these grandfathers.Their position in the league is not a true reflection of how they are playing.Sometimes luck plays a very important role in soccer.I dont see Chelsea winning anything this season unless they get rid of those grandparents from their dressing room.

Ashley Cole misses out again with Cahill starting despite injury scare. Mikel comes in, with David Luiz dropping to CB.
MANCITY VS CHELSEA TACTICAL BRIEF The pattern in previous rounds of this competition has been that Jose Mourinho has rested a few of the players who have played the most. In the previous round's win against Stoke City he made five changes. In came Mark Schwarzer for Petr Cech , Ashley Cole for Cesar Azpilicueta , Frank Lampard and second-debutant Nemanja Matic for John Mikel Obi and John Terry (replaced at the back by David Luiz ), and Andre Schurrle for Ramires . This time around Terry, who has missed his first Premier League minutes of the season in the last week, is out. Gary Cahill limped away from the disappointing draw at the Hawthorns on Tuesday so his fitness is being assessed ahead of this game. Branislav Ivanovic is a possibility to play centre-back with Cole and Azpilicueta as full- backs. Manuel Pellegrini also has factors to contend with. The postponement of the home game against Sunderland meant a free week for his team, though the fixture will have to be crammed into their busy schedule at ...

Luckily, domestic rules allow for the club to use any player who still qualifies as a U21. That leaves them plenty of options to choose from, with the following six players being notable: Under 21 Mohamed Salah, Tomas Kalas, Marco Van Ginkel, Nathan Ake, Lewis Baker, Jamal Blackman Note: Out of the 25 places available on the roster 8 places are reserved for homegrown players,if the Club does not have that many HG players then these spots ( the remaining ones) on the roster are to b ...

Chelsea 1-0 Swansea City: Hazard strike enough for Mourinho’s Blues The West Londoners took the lead through the Belgian, though struggled to extend their scoreline against a stobborn Swans back-line who rarely threatened the home side Eden Hazard scored the only goal as Chelsea beat Swansea City 1-0 on Thursday to keep up the pressure on their Premier League title rivals. During a first half dominated by the hosts, the Belgium international darting infield before unleashing a powerful drive that deceived goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel in the 29th minute. Chelsea failed to build on their superiority, though, and were made to work hard for victory after the break, though successfully held on to maintain their record of having dropped just two points at Stamford Bridge this season. Jose Mourinho made five changes to the side that drew 0-0 at Arsenal on Monday night, with David Luiz, Ashley Cole and Juan Mata among those coming into the starting XI and Frank Lampard dropping to the bench Swansea also made a ra ...
What do we do going forward? Well we definitely need to spend and we need to bring in players who fit the Mourinho style of play to bring back the consistency and to re-create the old Chelsea which were world beaters. Then buy who? Sell who? Keep who? This is my take. Goalkeepers: Not really much of a problem. Schwarzer and Hilario are definitely gonna be in their last seasons and I think they will leave at the end of the season. Coutois will return and challenge Cech for the number 1 role while Blackman will continue to blossom under their guidance and the efforts of the coaching team. Out: Schwarzer (out of contract), Hilario (out of contract) In (from Loan): Thibaut Coutois Defenders: I am against renewing Ashley Cole's contract. In fact this may earn me some backlash but I would sell David Luiz to Barcelona if they are still interested. I would also offload Ivanovic if I can. If we can do the above, bring back Van Aanholt and in covering left back we will have Ryan Bertrand. In right back, I will defi ...

MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 1 STEAUA BUCHAREST 0 Posted on: Thu 12 Dec 2013 Summary A steady if unspectacular victory courtesy of Demba Ba's early goal means Chelsea finish group stage winners for the ninth time in our 12 Champions League campaigns. Opportunities for more goals were few, although Branislav Ivanovic was denied by good goalkeeping and Ba another goal by wayward finishing. Steaua, who set a new record tonight for most consecutive Champions League games without a victory, wasted one gilt-edged chance shortly after the goal but that apart did not look likely to get back into the match. Team News Jose Mourinho spoke before the game of the need to rest players but still win the game and he set out to do that by making seven changes from the defeat at Stoke. Mark Schwarzer at 41 years of age played the first Champions League game of his career and ahead of the goalkeeper, Ashley Cole returned to defence, as did David Luiz who was over injury, just like his countryman Oscar who was also back. Willian , ...

PRE-MATCH BRIEFING: SUNDERLAND V CHELSEA TACTICAL BRIEF Jose Mourinho is wary of the scheduling this week&has already said several times that Sunderland are a better side than the points they have suggest. Under former Stamford Bridge icon Gustavo Poyet,Sunderland have won their last 3games at home in league&cup. With another testing visit to Mark Hughes's Stoke to come on Saturday before the Steaua game a week today,he is certain to mix the starting 11s considerably. Ashley Cole is training&may play in 1 of the league games this week. David Luiz is still not training but could return soon to break up Sunday's goalscoring central defensive partnership of Gary Cahill&John Terry. Fellow Brazilian Oscar will also miss out tonight after injuring his ankle at the weekend. CF Samuel Eto'o has returned from the groin problem suffered vs Basel&could figure this evening. Mourinho – Man Of His Words Jose Mourinho once again, proved why he is the boss and has the final authority. The Portuguese had been criticized previously over his altitude towards his players. It could be recalled that after the loss at St James Park, He spoke to the media on how he made 11 mistakes and why his team deserved to loose. It went down the spine of every chelsea fan because, Mourinho is always a man of his words. For him to criticize your performance, then your place is at stake. It was then confirmed, after the line-ups against Schalke 04 were out as we saw various changes Starting 11: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Mikel; Schurrle, Oscar,Willian; Eto’o You have seen the lineup, the boss makes a big statement. Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and David Luiz were all dropped. As Jose used a team of hungry players to beat out the result One could have asked, What Happened to Hazard when he isn’t injured. Hazard did not report to Cobham on Monday an ...
PRE-MATCH BRIEFING: CHELSEA V Manchester City - TACTICAL BRIEF The second meanest defence in the Barclays Premier League, Chelsea's, faces top scorers Manchester City on Sunday. Both clubs are in their hottest form of the season so far. The Pensioners' attack may find opportunities against a shaky City rearguard but the defence will face a far sterner test than against Schalke. The visitors' attacking resources are among the best and most creative in Europe. There might be a case for the pace, drive and anticipation of David Luiz ahead of Gary Cahill, especially if the Brazilian has learned from his Cardiff error. He also knows how to score against Mancunians. In Germany midweek, Ryan Bertrand remained on the bench as Cesar Azpilicueta, a right-footer, was rewarded for his bright cameo against the Welsh with a start in place of injured Ashley Cole. With Cole now fit, the most senior of the full-backs is expected to return. Mourinho has the luxury of in-form strikers. With Demba Ba likely perhaps to start ...
What we learned ? – Chelsea vs Cardiff City via CFC360 The international break was finally over and it was Premier League as usual on the weekend. Chelsea were facing newly promoted Cardiff City, at home. Torres was fit but Jose decided to start with Eto’o upfront. Oscar was rested which meant that Hazard, Mata and Willian were the 3 behind the striker. Bertrand started as a LB for Chelsea in the absence of Ashley Cole. Chelsea had a shaky start as an error of judgement from David Luiz as he left the ball for Cech to gather but Mutch pounced on it and put Cardiff City one up in the tenth minute. After that it was all Chelsea as the blues piled on the pressure on the Cardiff goal and looked for opportunity to unlock their defense. Cardiff sat deep with almost all our outfield players in their half. Cardiff had a chance as Odemwingie flicked but it was brilliantly saved by Cech. Mr reliable. The breakthrough finally came in the 32nd minute in controversial fashion to say the least as Eto’o snatched th ...
CHELSEA: INTERNATIONAL ROUND UP BELGIUM: Lukaku scored twice and Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois starred in Belgium's World Cup qualifying match against Croatia. Kevin De Bruyne also started the match before being subsituted around the hour mark. CZECH REPUBLIC: Petr Cech captained the Czech's in their 4-1 win over Malta. Petr Cech did concede a goal, it wasn't his fault. Cech and the Czech face an unvertainty towards qualification. GERMANY: Germany's number 9, Andre Schurrle scored the second goal that sent Ze German's to Brazil. Schurrle scored a beauty and he continues to impress one and all. ENGLAND: Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill played for the 3 Lions. Ashley Cole did not play because of injury. SPAIN: Juan Mata was an unused substitute for the World Champions. SERBIA: Branislav Ivanovic led the Serbs in a 2-0 friendly win against Japan. BRAZIL: David Luiz captained Brazil in their friendly 2-0 win over South Korea. Luiz was involved a lot in the game and Ramires also saw action. Oscar was the star ...
Defence: For the most part, we have seen Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole start in the full back positions. Would you drop either one of those? What about Cesar Azpilicueta and Ryan Bertrand? Who do you feel as part of our strongest eleven, deserves a start? Holding Midfield: For me, this is a key area and if your own opinion is to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation, what two players would you play there? Would they both have to be defensive minded or would you carry on with one defensive and one more attack minded? If you select a 4-3-3 formation, who would be your main defensive midfielder playing in the middle, deeper than any of the others protecting the back four? What about Michael Essien? For me, one of the outstanding performers in pre season, he hasn't had a single look in so far this season. Would you bring him in? What about Mikel? People moan and complain about him but he is the best defensive minded midfielder we have! What about David Luiz? Would you continue with Rafa's policy of playing hi ...
Proof Chelsea Football Club really aren't a young team Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at home to FC Basel last night was inexcusable for many Blues supporters, but Jose Mourinho wasted little time in offering up his own explanation. The Portuguese coach said that "emotionally, this [Chelsea] is not a very mature team", suggesting that the youthful presence in the current Blues outfit could be the reason for its downfall and continuing his theme of emphasising the lack of experience possessed by his "young eggs". That doesn’t really ring true however if we compare the average age of last night’s side to the best side in Europe. Chelsea’s starting 11 against Basel was comprised of the following players, with their age denoted in brackets: Petr Cech (31), Branislav Ivanovic (29), Ashley Cole (32), David Luiz (26), Gary Cahill (27), Frank Lampard (35), Oscar (22), Marco Van Ginkel (20), Eden Hazard (22), Willian (25), and Samuel Eto’o (32). Even at a glance, it's clear Chelsea's team isn't particularly young. ...
CHELSEA NEWS! Only five blues stars are certain starters for the coming season under Jose Mourinho -Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, and Oscar. Spainish wizard, Juan Mata and Brazil defender, David Luiz are not among the five. And Fernando Torres (who is wanted at the Emirate) could also be waving farewell to the Premier League this summer. Mourinho is thought to prefer Oscar in the No.10 role supporting a main striker, believing the Brazilian poses more attacking threat than Mata. This means Mourinho wil try to bring in six players before the transfer window closes -knowing a fee within the region of £35m from Barca for David Luiz could help fund new recruits. Brazilian star Hulk of Zenit St Petersburg, Mario Gomez of Bayern Munich and AC Milan hitman El Shaarawy are all on Mourinho's wishlist -along with Manchester City's Edin Dzeko.
Check it out-so amazing Here is what each player at Chelsea is earning: Eden Hazard - £185,000 Fernando Torres - £175,000 John Terry - £175,000 Frank Lampard - £140,000 Ashley Cole - £120,000 Petr Cech - £100,000 Gary Cahill - £80,000 David Luiz - £75,000 John Obi Mikel - £75,000 Juan Mata - £67,000 Ramires - £55,000 Oscar - £40,000 Ryan Bertrand - £40,000 Marko Marin - £35,000 Cesar Azpilicueta - £30,000 Victor Moses - £30,000 Branislav Ivanovic - £28,500 Oriol Romeu - £15,000 This is an accurate payroll from an undisclosed source . What does everyone think about these figures then? Who is overpaid, who is underpaid, who is justifying their money and how much more ridiculous will wages get??? Whoa, the rumours were true, Hazard is on crazy money. I just wrote a blog on how I was happy with Hazard’s form, but I think a player at his age who is new to the club should never earn that amount of money. It’s easy to pull your hair out when you look at Torres’ wages too. A reason t ...

Chelsea: Top 10 goals of the season David Luiz, Juan Mata & Frank Lampard have all scored sensational goals for the Europa League champions this season Chelsea won the Europa League and finished third in the Premier League, scoring some memorable goals along the way. But which were the best 10? 10. Frank Lampard v Newcastle A mad game at St James' Park, which Chelsea went on to lose in the last moments of the game. With Jonas Gutierrez putting the Magpies in front after there was a shout for Fabricio Coloccini to be sent off following an injury he caused to Demba Ba, it summed up Chelsea's first-half performance. Nevertheless they responded well in the second half and, when needed, the man for any Chelsea occasion popped up again. With Chelsea on the attack that seemed to be resulting in not very much, Lampard collected Ashley Cole's pass and by his standards controlled it poorly on his chest but making up for it by taking it past Yohan Cabaye with a superb touch and lashed a powerful effort into the top ...
Benfica v Chelsea: Player ratings Petr Cech: Did brilliantly to tip over Oscar Cardozo's looping volley but could do little to stop the striker's bullet penalty. 8/10. Cesar Azpilicueta: Silly decision to leave his arm out-stretched in the box, giving the referee no option but to award Benfica their penalty. 6. Branislav Ivanovic: The least calm of Chelsea's two centre-backs, but excelled at the other end, heading in the winner expertly in injury time. 8. Gary Cahill: Recovered from a nervous start to lead Chelsea's back four admirably. Always calm under pressure and did just enough to stop Cardozo scoring in the first half. 8. Ashley Cole: Put in a crucial block to stop Eduardo Salvio after 11 minutes, but otherwise had a relatively quiet night. 7. David Luiz: Did not take to his midfield role as well as he has done in recent weeks. Passing awry early on. 6. Frank Lampard: Rattled the bar with three minutes to go and also drew a world-class save from Artur in the first half. 8. Ramires: Failed to live up ...

PROBABLE LINEUPS CHELSEA Cech Azpilicueta, Luiz, Terry, Cole Ramires, Mikel Oscar, Mata, Hazard Ba Manchester United De Gea Jones, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra Cleverley, Giggs Welbeck, Rooney, Nani Chicharito Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Ramires and Demba Ba should all return to Rafa Benitez's starting line-up after missing Chelsea's league defeat at Southampton on Saturday. The Chelsea boss could make around six changes to his side ahead of a run of five games in the next 13 days. Gary Cahill (knee) is a doubt so John Terry is likely to continue in defence alongside Luiz. With Ba cup-tied for the Blues in the Europa League, the Senegalese should be handed a start on Monday. Mata should return to the side after missing the match at St Mary's with illness. Sir Alex Ferguson is also likely to make several changes to his side after rotating the team in the weekend win at Sunderland. Phil Jones could return to the side at right-back after Rafael (groin) was forced off at the weekend. Tom Clever ...

Chelsea Player Ratings against West Brom Petr Cech – 7 – While the shot-stopper was rarely called into action, good saves in the first and last 10 minutes of the game made sure that Chelsea kept that all-important clean sheet. Ashley Cole – 6 – Nothing too special from the left-back who started the game being caught in possession a few times too many, but the England international upped his game after the break to combine well with Oscar on the left flank. David Luiz – 7 – An important part of Chelsea’s goal as he headed the ball back across the box from an Oscar cross, and successfully found Demba Ba lying in wait to knock it home. At the back, the defender was not called upon too much, but stayed alert during the Baggies’ late surge to find an equaliser. Branislav Ivanovic – 6 – An average performance from the centre-back who looked keen on going forward so that his side could get bodies further upfield and remain on the attack. Cesar Azpilicueta – 6 – The defender was able to get ...

Paulo Ferreira, Ryan Bertrand, Nathan Ake, Victor Moses and Yossi Benayoun are likely to be among those to make way, with Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard and Demba Ba pushing for recalls.
Ashley Cole returned to the side and made his 300th Chelsea appearance. David Luiz played in central defence for the first time since the home draw against Southampton last month.Cahill partnered the Brazilian and with John Terry on the bench, the returning Lampard was captain. -Shaheel
CHELSEA: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole; Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Hazard; Ba. There's no place for misfiring striker Fernando Torres, as Demba Ba is preferred in attack. John Obi Mikel starts in midfield, as does Frank Lampard. Juan Mata and Eden Hazard will be Chelsea's main sourced of creativity within the team. Gary Cahill and David Luiz are the centre-defensiv e duo, with Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole completing the back four.
In today's match likely to come in are John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Demba Ba and David Luiz, all of whom were not starters in midweek. AAK
John Terry has to make do with a place on the substitutes' bench despite being deemed fit after missing the 4-1 victory over Wigan with a knee injury. Rafael Benitez makes three changes to the team which beat the Latics, with Ryan Bertrand, Marko Marin and Juan Mata replacing Ashley Cole, David Luiz (suspended) and Oscar.
Sorry Germany but i'll watch England Vs Brazil to support Chelsea's six players : Ramires,Oscar, David Luiz, Ashley Cole, Bertrand,John Terry
HOME OR ABROAD? Apparently Frank Lampard has a few options up his sleeve because he can spend another year at Chelsea, or he could go over to Italy for 3 years, or he could park his bus in the MLS and retire. If you could spend 10 minutes with Frank Lampard, what would you suggest? Probably as fans we'd all suggest he stays in London but is this sensible for Lampard? Well if he goes over to the US, he can probably wave goodbye to any future England caps, and if he goes over to italy he could probably have a holiday. But if he stays with Chelsea for one more year, he could win trophies and then have his holiday. Why take early retirement Frank, especially when Mr. Abramovich hasn't asked for a wage cut? Stay another year with Ashley Cole and cheer everyone one up at the Bridge! You could win another CL trophy and even a PL title. Now that's gotta be worth it...

Can't believe I actually met Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, Demba Ba, Juan Mata, Edin Hazard and the one and only David Luiz ... best day ever!
After a slow start in which the Blues went behind, two goals from debutant Demba Ba plus strikes from Victor Moses , Branislav Ivanovic and Frank Lampard maintained our unbeaten run in the FA Cup third round which stretches back to 1999. It was Ba with a close-range finish who levelled the scores, with Moses putting the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time. The second half was one-sided although Ross Turnbull pulled off a smart double save. Ivanovic headed his goal soon after the restart and after the impressive Ba had stretched the lead, the Senegalese striker was denied a hat-trick by a good save. Substitute Lampard from the penalty spot went level with Kerry Dixon as Chelsea's second highest goalscorer, and at the same time joined Bobby Tambling as the club's highest FA Cup scorer. He now has 25 goals in the competition. Team News It was instantly clear from the team selection that Rafael Benitiz is taking the FA Cup seriously. Back in came Juan Mata , Eden Hazard , Ramires and Ashley Cole who was ...

Chelsea make three changes from the team that beat Leeds in the Capital One Cup with David Luiz pushed up into midfield at the expense of Oscar. Gary Cahill comes into central defence for Luiz as Ashley Cole and Eden Hazard replace Ryan Bertrand and Marko Marin respectively. Villa make only one change to the matchday squad of 18 that beat Liverpool last time out. Darren Bent is still absent as Stephen Ireland replaces Charles N'Zogbia on the bench. SSE
David Luiz wants to lead Chelsea "I was captain at Benfica at 21. I know my personality is to be a natural leader. So I know now that, at this moment, with the team's leaders of many, many years out of the team, I need to take responsibility of the team and try and help the young players,"
Didier Drogba has presented his former team-mates from Chelsea’s Champions League winning side with commemorative rings. The Ivorian icon presented John Terry, David Luiz, Ryan Bertrand, Branislav Ivanovic, Paulo Ferreira, Daniel Sturridge and Ashley Cole with rings similar to those worn by Super Bowl winners, at an event at a London hotel last night. Every member of the victorious Blues squad had been invited, but not all managed to attend for various reasons. The mood at the hotel must have been bitter sweet, considering the fact that Chelsea had just become the first Champions League holders in history to be eliminated from the competition after the group stage. And the Blues have seemed a far less potent force without imposing African legend Drogba to name in their ranks. It is no surprise that the club had hoped to bring the Shanghai Shenhua striker back to Stamford Bridge on loan just for a few months, only for Fifa to pull the plug on their plans. The rings are said to have set Drogba back to the ...

Fernando Torres Fernando Torres has been dropped to the bench for Chelsea 's crucial Champions League group-stage clash with Juventus . Eden Hazard will start as a false No.9 in the absence of the out-of-form Spaniard, with Juan Mata and Oscar tasked with providing the service for the tricky Belgian. In defence, Roberto Di Matteo shifts to a back three of Branislav Ivanovic, David Luiz and Gary Cahill, with the returning Ashley Cole andCesar Azpilicueta are expected to operate as wing-backs. Juventus, meanwhile, prefer Fabio Quagliarella to Sebastian Giovinco up front in what is otherwise a full-strength lineup. Juventus starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci; Lichtsteiner, Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah; Vucinic, Quagliarella Subs: Storari, Caceres, Pogba, Pepe, Giovinco, Giaccherini, Matri
The Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is likely to drop Fernando Torres and play Eden Hazard in a lone striking role in tonight's Champions League match with Juventus. With Daniel Sturridge apparently having suffered a setback in training, Hazard will play at centre-forward,David Luiz is set to partner Gary Cahill at centre-half, with Branislav Ivanovic starting at right-back and Ashley Cole returning at left-back, according to the Daily Mail.
West Brom maintained their impressive start to the season as they beat Chelsea 2-1 at The Hawthorns. Peter Odemwingie nodded in the winning goal early in the second half after Shane Long and Eden Hazard had also scored with close-range headers before the break. Roberto Di Matteo, on his return to West Brom, saw his side push hard for a second equaliser but they were unable to find a way past Boaz Myhill who was deputising for the injured Ben Foster in the Baggies goal. Chelsea were much changed as they had one eye on Tuesday's crunch clash with Juventus in the UEFA Champions League and left the likes of Ashley Cole, Ramires, Oscar and Juan Mata on the bench. And it showed in their sluggish start when Shane Long escaped the clutches of David Luiz to head past Petr Cech at the far post from a probing James Morrison cross. Chelsea enjoyed plenty of possession in the early stages but Long was a constant threat on the break and got the better of Gary Cahill on two occasions without finding the net. At the othe ...
When Chelsea have 65% of the game I expect them to win not lose. That said if you can't defend crosses and also can't finish when you're in front of goal you ain't going to win games , which means you can win titles. David Luiz is no Centre Half and we surely can't let Ashley Cole leave as Ryan Bertrand just ain't go enough at Left Back. Rant over, I'm off down the beach
West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea - 3pm Chelsea are missing captain John Terry due to a knee injury while Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard remain doubts; Oscar and David Luiz will have late fitness tests. West Brom striker Romelu Lukaku cannot play against his parent club, and goalkeeper Ben Foster is out with a groin strain. Norwich City v Manchester United - 5.30pm Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans are Manchester United's major doubts, as Javier Hernandez prepares to start. Norwich will again be without defender Russell Martin (back).
We really missed Ashley Cole yesternight. Ryan Bertrand & DAVID LUIZ were very poor in our defense.. RDM need to work in that back line.. David Luiz ,John Terry ,Ashley Cole best defenders in the world
RDM reports Juan Mata (hamstring) and David Luiz (ankle) are very doubtful for the game but Ashley Cole is back available.
Roberto Di Matteo has admitted Chelsea have been missing John Terry after their defensive problems deepened ahead of the Barclays Premier League game at Swansea. The European champions were all over the place at the back in Wednesday night's dramatic Capital One Cup win over Manchester United and were hardly any better in Sunday's first league defeat of the season against the same opponents. They have now conceded 11 goals in just four games since Terry began his domestic racism ban, although the Chelsea captain did play in one of them when he started their Champions League defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk. Terry serves the final instalment of his ban on Saturday, while manager Di Matteo revealed fellow defender David Luiz would almost certainly miss the Swansea game though injury. That would mean Branislav Ivanovic being pressed into centre-back service in a new-look defence that would almost certainly see right-back Cesar Azpilicueta handed his full league debut, with Ashley Cole returning from injury on the ...
CHELSEA NEWS! Chelsea welcome back Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres after they served one-match bans during their side's midweek victory over Manchester United. David Luiz will serve a one-match suspension for reaching five domestic yellow cards for the season, meaning Cesar Azpilicueta could continue at right-back, allowing Ivanovic to partner Cahill in central defence. Ashley Cole (ankle) is a doubt, while John Terry continues his four-match ban after being found guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand by the FA.
Just got this news for Chelsea fans that David Luiz will not be available for Swansea City game, after the defender has already gotten 5 yellow cards, which means he will serve one match ban. Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard are both in doubt for the clash owing to injuries, while John Terry will continue his four match ban, having missed Tottenham Hotspurs and Man United(epl), and Man United(league cup) already. So, Branislav Ivanovic will fall back to partner Gary Cahill at the defence, while Cesar Azpilicueta plays the right back role, and Ryan Betrand in for Ashley Cole.IRE O.
With JT, David Luiz and Ashley Cole unavailable for selection. We'll get to see a changed back line. With the CB pairing of Ivanovic and Cahill. And the side backs being occupied by Ryan Bertrand and Cesar Azpilicueta. Both of them had a good game against United in midweek. welkam bak ivanovic & torres.
Two goals down inside 12 minutes, the leaders fought their way off the ropes to level through Juan Mata (44) and Ramires (53) and were looking likelier winners until Branislav Ivanovic was sent off on the hour. But a second red card for Fernando Torres meant the end of any genuine attacking ambition, and substitute Javier Hernandez bundled a contentious winner (75) to haul United within a point of the leaders and give them a first league success at Stamford Bridge since 2002. Despite the result there was plenty in Chelsea's performance to reinforce their credentials as real title challengers, though they were handicapped by a haphazard start as United's £24m man Robin Van Persie made one goal and scored another. United's defence was under scrutiny before the game following another porous display against Braga in midweek, but it was a home back four missing John Terry which was exposed during the opening exchanges as Ashley Cole was repeatedly isolated and David Luiz too often in a different district to G ...
Chelsea 2-3 Manchester United: what did we learn from Sunday's eventful match at Stamford Bridge? Aside from the refereeing controversies, we again saw that Chelsea are an extremely able side – dogged by lapses that can cost games. While many will rightly cite the influence of refereeing decisions on the outcome, in truth Chelsea should never have gifted an especially average United side a two-goal cushion so early-on. Yet again, Chelsea fell asleep in the starting blocks: handing the initiative to United. Playing without the ball, Chelsea were always chasing the game in the first half hour. Both early goals were the result of poor cover on the left – and credit must be given to Ashley Cole for apologising for what was one of his worst performances in a blue shirt. As a result of Cole playing too high up-field, David Luiz was often dragged left into a position he cannot cover, and leaving two gaping holes. When the change came, however, it was like the flick of a switch. Chelsea suddenly seemed to pre ...
We defended horribly, especially in the early stages, during yesterday’s game and it isn’t the first time we’ve looked shaky there this season as David Luiz is guilty of the sublime as well as the ridiculous and Ashley Cole is either in need of a rest or a kick up the backside as he’s been woeful in...
Will Rooney or Van Persie be Man Of The Match tonight ? Will Ashley Cole or David Luiz be Flop Of The Match tonight?

The Stamford Bridge in London hosts what could eventually prove to be the most gruelling EPL match for the season as Chelsea clash with Man U. It couldn't have come at a better time! Chelsea are still riding on the impetus generated from last year's somewhat fortitous Champions League victory but at the same time, did the right thing of signing Hazard and Oscar, who, together with Juan Mata, form a deadly attacking prowess that can destroy any team on the planet. The three, complimeneted by others such as David Luiz-who is solid in defence and Ashley Cole, are the main reason behind the Blues' good start to the season. If it had not been for the laxity and lucklustre approach of chief striker, Fernando Torres, Chelsea would have scored dozens of goals more than what they have thus far. On the other hand, Man U still grapple with defensive frailties, and that makes it very interesting coming up against the harzadous trio. That could be the major determining factor on Sunday. However, for their part, Manu U ...

Chelsea Fc 1 vs 4 Atletico Madrid - In Progress — 87′ Refresh scores 87′ - Bundle, bundle, bundle. First Torres, then Lampard and Oscar. All three try to clatter their way through a series of challenges on the edge of the box but find little success. Atletico holding firm. 85′ - Felipe Luis marauds forward from left-back to receive a ball inside the box and fire across Cech. Chelsea's shot-stopper does enough to prevent the goal though, holding on at the second attempt. The game is suddenly very ragged - David Luiz is playing right wing for some reason... 84′ - Atletico get in behind theChelsea defence and although it's a two on one for a moment,Ashley Cole recovers on his flank to intercept a cross aimedfor Falcao. 82′ - Substitution Juan Mata Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea Fc) 81′ - Substitution Koke Raúl García (Atletico Madrid) 81′ - Oscar does well on the left to win the ball and turn it inside to Mata. The Spaniard links up with Hazard and receives a return through ball but his reluctan ...

Chelsea lost the Didier Drogba but we still have a rejuvenated Fernando Torres.Adding to the equation are the supremely talented Eden Hazard,Marko Marin and Oscar the Brazilian. The defence is solid with Ashley Cole, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic,Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta with David Luiz and Gary Cahill. It seems that boss Roberto Di Matteo wants to play a brand of attacking football this season, and these three signings shows an attacking intent from the Italian.the EPL 2012/2013 season belongs to C H E L S E A. watch my space!
Champions News: Chelsea back four - Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Jose Bosigwa blocked 35 shot fired towards Chelsea goal with their body. Chelsea has proved adept at shot blocking by throwing themselves at the ball. And they have done this consistently since the Roman era more than any other team in any competition
'David Luiz, Lampard and Ashley Cole held their nerve and Drogba confirmed the greatest triumph in Chelsea's long existence.' :D
Did Petr Cech get a hand on that penalty from Schweinsteiger? If so it was a great save. Ivica Olic was the other Bayern player to falter, his was a poor effort. Juan Mata missed for Chelsea, another poor effort, but hats off to Ashley Cole and David Luiz in particular for exceptional penalties. Luiz hared in off a run-up a fast bowler would be proud of. Bang.
Juan Mata missed Chelsea's first penalty but David Luiz, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole were all successful. Philipp Lahm, Mario Gomez and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer were all on target for Bayern. The momentum shifted decisively when Cech denied Ivica Olic and Bastian Schweinsteiger hit the post to leave Chelsea on the brink and present Drogba with his moment of destiny.
Petr Cech Top of the Match 207 3 7.0 Made a superb save to keep out Robben's penalty in extra-time. Slightly suspect for the Bayern goal but made some crucial stops throughout the game. Ashley Cole 112 11 7.0 So solid for much of the game - making one superb block - but got caught ball-watching for Bayern's first goal. Offered virtually nothing going forward. David Luiz 82 9 6.5 The Portuguese defender was generally strong in his reading of the game and timing of challenges, but slightly caught out for Muller's goal. José Bosingwa 58 34 5.0 Struggled when one-on-one up against Ribery but was not as exposed as he might have been. Gary Cahill 78 16 5.5 The England defender showed good anticipation but seemed to be a little flat-footed and off the pace, especially in the second half when he appeared to be carrying an injury. Ryan Bertrand 56 58 4.5 The youngster surprisingly started the game in a left-wing position but looked overwhelmed by the occasion and seemed uncomfortable on the ball. Frank Lampard 88 ...

The scores remained the same following 30minutes of extra time. The shootout saw Phillip Lahm scoring first for Bayern, before Juan Matta's shot for Chelsea was saved by Neur. David Luiz and Gary Cahill's return to training leaves Chelsea's prospects of winning the Champions League looking far brighter... With John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic suspended, Chelsea risked entering Saturday's final with full backs Ashley Cole, Ryan Bertrand, Jose Bosingwa and Paulo Ferreira their only available defenders, forcing at least two players out of position. However, the news that David Luiz and Gary Cahill came through a competitive training session without a recurrence of their hamstring injuries on Tuesday and their confidence in being fully fit to face Bayern Munich is a huge boost. Though Terry, Ivanovic and midfield absentees Raul Meireles and Ramires will be missed, Luiz and Cahill starting should ensure that everyone plays where they are most comfortable, a luxury that their hosts, with Holgar Badstuber, David Alaba and Luis Gustavo banned, aren't expected to enjoy. The lack of options offered to Roberto Di Matteo in midfield means that, assuming he sticks with his preferred 4-2-3- ...
