Jenny Morris and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, is delighted to announce ART OF MUSIC LIVE, an extension of the Art of Music series where artists choose an Australian song to inspire an artwork.   ART OF MUSIC LIVE brings these paintings to life with Tim Finn, Suze Demarchi, Josh Pyke, Dragon, Ian Moss, Iva Davies, Katie Noonan, Dave Mason (The Reels), Reg Mombassa & Pete O’Doherty (Mental as Anything) and Gondwana Children’s Choir singing the songs that inspired the artworks.   These unique, live performances are being specially created for this concert in an intimate setting at The Studio at the Sydney Opera House on Monday, 24 June, 2013.   From the overwhelming success of the inaugural event in 2006, Art of Music has become one of the most anticipated events on the calendar and is a biennial event which combines the mediums of visual art and music. This Day In Music: January 21st 1965, Over 3,000 screaming fans met The Rolling Stones and Roy Orbison at Sydney Airport when they arrived for a 16 date tour of Australia and New Zealand. 1966, George Harrison married Patti Boyd at Leatherhead Register Office in Surrey with Paul Mccartney as Best man. George had first met Patti on the set of The Beatles movie 'A Hard Day's Night'. 1968, Jimi Hendrix recorded his version of the Bob Dylan song 'All Along the Watchtower' at Olympic Studios in London. Rolling Stone Brian Jones and Dave Mason from Traffic both played on the session. The track was released in the US as a single in 1968, peaking at No.20. 1972, Pink Floyd appeared at The Guildhall, Portsmouth, England.
