AUSTRALIA has claimed a dramatic 2-1 series victory over South Africa after the third Test at Newlands descended into acrimony. South Africa was dismissed with just 4.3 overs remaining when Ryan Harris bowled Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel in the space of three deliveries to give Australia a 245-run victory, sending the Australians into wild celebrations.
Indeed, the month of the revolutionaries has began! As we welcome the month on a sad footing, we also acknowledge all revolutionaries born in March key amongst others is of course the Pan Africanist Marxist Walter Rodney. I will reveal identity of others as the month progress! On gentlemen's game: This Warner character is proving to be a problem and dangerous and with the unconfirmed reports of Dale Steyn's harmstring injury the situation is getting worse. We need someone to handle this terrorist and his big mouth. In Test team we trust. And all the best to the under 21 Proteas team as they get seek to end the 'choking era'. On the beautiful game: We are passionately waiting to witness and support the glamour boys as the continue with their journey of conquering the continent. In comrade Baxter we trust.
On a scale of Ishant Sharma and Dale Steyn they would be somewhere closse to Ryan Haarris!

South Africa: 8.5 - J P Duminy - 123 & 18 not out, 1/24 & 1/33 - He got the player of the match award and had one of his best matches in a very long time.  The first innings century was a bit easy, having come at the back of Elgar and especially De Villiers' efforts to build the innings, but he still had to capitalise, and he did it big time.  He also chipped in with 2 vital wickets, especially good as there was no regular spin bowler. 8 - A B De Villiers - 116 & 29, 3 catches - He scored big runs when South Africa needed it most, and guided J P Duminy to his own century, in spite of poor form and an overall bad record, which ultimately put the game beyond Australia.  At 5/200 there was a chance of a collapse but thanks to him South Africa got to 423 and safety. 7.5 - Dean Elgar - 83 & 16, 0/1 & 1/24 - He scored runs when it mattered at the top of the order, especially difficult as he isn't usually an opener, and also chipped in with a wicket at the end. 7 - Dale Steyn - 1/55 & 4/55 - Not the best ...

Cricket: Pressure on captains Smith, Clarke in decider Wed, Feb 26, 2014 06:39 IST Captains Graeme Smith and Michael Clarke will be under greater than usual pressure when South Africa and Australia clash in the series-deciding third Test from Saturday. Apart from the normal challenge of trying to win a showdown at Newlands between two of cricket's top teams, both skippers will be seeking to end a run of poor personal form with the bat. And both will be facing bowlers who have been a nemesis during their careers. Smith has had scores of 10, 4, 9 and 14 in the first two Tests, while Clarke has made 23, 17 not out, 19 and 1. Smith has been out three times to left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, who has now dismissed him eight times in 10 Tests. No bowler has claimed his wicket more often in Tests, although Chris Martin of New Zealand also got him out eight times in 11 matches. Clarke has fallen twice to Dale Steyn, taking his number of dismissals against South Africa's fast bowling kingpin to nine in 13 T ...

Players stand up to the Big Three- Mumbai's Azad Maidan early in the morning, surprisingly empty apart from eight men lying under a tree, in deep slumber. On closer inspection, we notice they are Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, Saeed Ajmal, Ross Taylor, Dale Steyn, Mitchell Johnson and Kumar Sangakkara. The crack of leather on willow wakes them up. Kohli: "What the f***! Where am I?" Pietersen (looking around): "Oh no! I hope this is not one of those nightmares where I am one in a galaxy of stars." Gayle (groggily): "Boy! These new-age parties can really get out of hand." Sangakkara: "What is this place? It reminds me of a more idyllic time, when corruption was a bad word and you could still invest in good faith." From a nearby net, four men walk towards them: Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis. Kallis: "That's right, I'm always an afterthought." Tendulkar: "Ugh! Someone please bring him up to the front of the queue." Ponting: "Hey! We had a gentlemen's agreement o ...

That awkward moment when Mitchell Johnson seems more entertaining (and destructive) than Dale Steyn!
Day 2 recap! Australia started the day 4/297 and posted a further 100 to finish on 397. Steve Smith went first quickly after his 100. His partner for most of day 1, Shaun Marsh continued on to make 148 before Philander got his first Australian wicket. Robin Peterson got our Ashes hero Brad Haddin for a duck and got Mitchell Johnson later on in the day for 33. Dale Steyn cleared the tail out getting Siddle for 2 and Ryan Harris for 19. Nathan Lyon went 4 not out. Steyn- 4/78(29), Peterson- 2/49(15), McLaren- 2/72(20) South Africa then went into bat. Graeme Smith (10) and Alviro Petersen (2) didn't last long, facing the terror of Mitchell Johnson. Johnson claimed Faf Du Plessis as his third victim getting him for 3 from a catch by skipper Michael Clarke. Hashim Amla was broken by Peter Siddle for 17 getting him LBW. Nathan Lyon then got his first sending JP Duminy back to the pavilion for 25 with a good catch from Mitchell Johnson! Johnno then got back in the action knocking Ryan McLaren over for 8. AB De V ...

Jacques Kallis is R10 million man at IPL auction:: 13 February, 2014 Kallis, who recently retired from Proteas duty, was snapped up by the Kolkota Knightriders at a whopping R10-million on the first day of the seventh Indian Premier League auction in Bangalore yesterday. Faf Du Plessis, whose stock has risen in the longer version of the game, was snared by former champions the Chennai Super Kings for R8.7- million, while rising star Quinton De Kock (R6.4- million to Delhi Daredevils) won’t have to beg for pocket money. Morne Morkel (R5.1-million to KKR) was the only other South Africans who fetched more than R5-million. The hammer also came down on former Super King Albie Morkel (R4.4- million to Royal Challengers Bangalore) and JP Duminy (R4-million to DD). Australia in South Africa 2013-14 Phillip Hughes plays the long game : At the start of his mid-life novel Big Sur, Jack Kerouac wrestled with the perception created by the runaway success of On the Road. "All over America high school and college kids are thinking Jack Kerouac is 26 years old and on the road hitch-hiking, while there I am, almost 40 years old, bored and jaded..." Phillip Hughes' first visit to South Africa in 2009 created a similar difficulty. Those transcendent days five years ago had him clattering Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and co to all parts of Johannesburg and Durban, earning breathless raves like this one from Angus Fraser: "It is an unfair comparison to make at his stage of career but I feel he is a bit like Brian Lara." It was unfair. It still is. All over Australia and South Africa cricket followers think Hughes is 20 years old, fearless and outside leg stump cutting, when he is actually past 25, wizened and cautious about a future far less certain than it seemed when he posted his ...
Five cricketers who could replace Kevin Pietersen as an England crowd pleaser Arguably the biggest loser from Kevin Pietersen’s sacking – aside from the man himself, of course – is the England fan. For almost nine years, crowds have been wowed by the maverick the ECB failed to tame, through an array of stunningly executed shots, each forming part of knocks of class and even greater worth. From his debut knock at The Oval against the greatest attack of all time, to his treatment of Dale Steyn at Headingley in 2012, Pietersen had the ability to hit England out of precarious positions through great determination, without diminishing his mass appeal. Here are five players of the next generation who could fill the showbiz void that KP has left… Ben Stokes The likeliest heir to KP’s mantle of entertainer - the most watchable thing about Stokes is his hunger for the fight. Watching him square up to Mitchell Johnson in the Adelaide Test was thrilling, not least because it gave us a chance to *** how ...

What is Piers Morgan thinking, if he faces Dale Steyn that will definitely finish him off
After the termination of Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad surprised many with their success in their first season, finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League. To make things even better Shikhar Dhawan, a player who was a middling batsman when they bought him, has emerged as a bonafide star after a run-filled 2013. With franchises desperate for a player the team can be identified by, Dhawan is set to be retained for big money. The other Indian who has delivered for them is legspinner Amit Mishra, who has built up a terrific IPL record, but he is unlikely to be among those the franchise holds on to. They also have Ishant Sharma and Parthiv Patel in their ranks, but neither has done well enough to merit retention. Sunrisers' other high-profile players are foreigners. Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White haven't been roaring successes and are set to go into the auction, and though Dale Steyn delivered some high-quality spells, non-cricketing reasons suggest he too is likely to join th ...

Cheteshwar Pujara moves to career-best fifth in ICC Test rankings, Virat Kohli remains static at No. 11! In the all-rounder's ranking, Ashwin continued to rule the roost at the top. South Africa's AB De Villiers leads the Test batsmen table with 912 points followed by Shivnarine Chanderpaul(876) of West Indies and Ross Taylor (871) from New Zealand. Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha fell one spot to ninth position in the bowlers' table, led by South Africa's Vernon Philander. Ojha lost his place to Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson, who had a sensational Ashes series gained three points to jump to 8th in the bowling list. Johnson's teammate Ryan Harris, jumped to a career-best third. Philander was followed by his teammate Dale Steyn.

South Africa VS INDIA SERIES The South African firepower restore order in the 2nd Test with some professional *** clinical individual performances to win the game by 10 wickets in Durban. Team unity, adamant attitude and the will to stay the best kept the hosts striding for a victory against the Indians after they amassed 500 runs in the 1st innings and taking a lead of 166 runs, seeing themselves in a winning position thereafter. The class of Jacques Kallis, who was playing his last Test match went on to score his 45th century (115 runs), well supported by the batting line-up who contributed with valuable scores to lift SA's chances for a series win. Implicit tactics from the South African captain to use his spinners to their potential after analyzing the behavior of the wicket and exploiting the rough patches in it. Credit to the fast bowlers who rattled the Indian batting line-up with some fiery bouncers and pure consistency to dismiss them for 223 runs in the 3rd innings. Dale Steyn remained the pick ...
DURBAN: South Africa defeated India by ten wickets in the final session of the final day in the second Test here at the Kingsmead on Monday to stretch the top-ranked Test team´s unbeaten run to 14 series. Chasing an easy target of 59, openers Graeme Smith (27) and Alviro Petersen (31) made the required runs from 11.4 overs in 48 minutes without being separated to give South Africa a ten-wicket victory and also a 1-0 series win. Earlier, South Africa bowled out India for 223 in their second inning before lunch on the final day to close in on the win for veteran allrounder Jacques Kallis, who announced on Christmas Day that the game would be his last Test. Only Ajinkya Rahane resisted South Africa´s bowlers before he was the last man out for 96, just four short of his first Test hundred. For South Africa, left-arm spinner Robin Peterson captured four wickets for 74 while pace bowlers Vernon Philander and Dale Steyn claimed three each for 43 and 47, respectively
Venon Philander, Dale Steyn & Robin Peterson. You just gotta love Cricket!!!.
Dale Steyn is the Man of the Match for his 9/147. No surprises there. Steyn:'I'm pretty stoked. On day 2, Jacques asked us to not let the game fizzle out to a draw. He asked the bowlers to step up. Guys take great catches, the personnel work hard back. My achievements are nothing without their inputs. I have been working on coming wide of the crease. Pujara's a good batter. I saw Allan Donald jumping up and down after that wicket.'
[Sport] DURBAN: Dale Steyn struck straight away on the final day and spinner Robin Peterson took four wickets as South Afr.
South Africa win to give Kallis perfect send-off South Africa overpowered India by ten wickets in Jacques Kallis' final Test to give one of the greatest of Test careers the perfect end. Kallis will retire satisfied at having been an integral part of a South Africa side who are the undisputed No. 1 in Tests, having lost just one of their previous 25 series stretching back to 2006. It was a wonderful summer day to sign off. A 40% chance of rain was expected to be one of India's allies on a day that was the biggest challenge for their young batting line-up. Instead, they were greeted by clear blue skies and pleasant sunshine. And their chances worsened dramatically within 15 minutes of the start of play, as Dale Steyn removed their two best batsmen, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, in a fierce spell of fast bowling. India managed to clear the deficit just before lunch, but South Africa had mopped up five wickets in the first session to put themselves on the verge of a series victory. Though it was the fift ...
Robin Peterson claimed 4/74 while Dale Steyn claimed his 350th test wicket great performance by our bowlers!
Jacques Kallis takes the team off the field to a stading ovation. This has been a clinical performance from South Africa today. They needed to take quick wickets and their spearhead, Dale Steyn, was right on the money straightway. The Indian batsmen too helped their cause with some really poor shot selection. Robin Peterson bagged four wickets while Steyn and Philander picked up three each. Despite Rahane's fine knock, India could only manage a 57-run lead. This should be a fitting farwell for King Kallis. Join us back for the South African reply in a short while.

South Africa 395/7 at lunch, day 4 Durban, Dec 29(DIM News): South Africa took a 61-run first innings lead and were 395 for seven at lunch on day four of the second cricket Test against India at the Kingsmead here Sunday. Both overnight batsmen Jacques Kallis (115) and Dale Steyn (44) were the only wickets to fall in the morning session. Faf Du Plessis and Robin Peterson -- both having scored five runs apiece -- were at the crease. Daily India Mail News(DIM News)

Rohit Sharma has proved that he's better than Hashim Amla! Must admire the way he shouldered arms to Dale Steyn.
Negatives from these months of cricket: 1. Awful awful new hairstyle that Ajmal has adopted. Somewhere in between Salman Khan and a khassi bakra. 2. Muhammad Irfan got jaded with bowling too much and injured. 3. Hammad Azam still hasn't been given a chance. 4. Despite all these years, Umar Akmal's batting position problems only worsening. 5. Redundancy of Dale Steyn jokes. 6. Afridi consolidating his position in the team for a lifetime. 7. Sohail Tanvir given way too many chances. 8. Another unsung hero in Rehman wasted. Played brilliantly today. 9. Dav Whatmore almost done with his tenure as coach. 10. Too many breaches of discipline by the team. A brawl between two players outside the dressing room. Shehzad and Dilshan.
Good morng all. Cricket update to those loving to follow the game. I can testify tht the weather is really great for a good game of cricket. Not a single piece of evidence rain for today. India 1st innings tumbled, thanks to Dale Steyn. South Africa raced to 82 without loss in their reply during a marathon three-hour final session with openers Graeme Smith (35 not out) and Alviro Petersen (46 not out) to resume on Saturday as the Proteas aim to build a big lead. Key is that they must bat whole of today and possibly up to lunch tomorrow, at the same rate to put up a seriously challenging score for Tendulkar's countrymen. Will be off to Kingsmead, downtown Dubs shortly. Talk to u folks!

DURBAN: Dale Steyn ended a bowling drought with a six-wicket haul as South Africa fought back on the second day of the second and final Test against India at Kingsmead on Friday.Steyn took six for 100
THE Castle Lager Proteas had by far their best day of the Sunfoil Test series against India at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Friday when they turned the tables on their opponents and took the momentum out of the second day’s play.   The Proteas finished the day on 82 without loss in only 20 overs in their first innings after they had taken nine wickets for 153 runs on a rain-shortened day to dismiss India for 334.   India started the day well on top at 181/1 but Dale Steyn changed the whole course of the game when he took three wickets in 10 balls without conceding a run to change the total from 198/1 to 199/4.   It was a day-changing moment as Steyn ended the stand of 157 for the second wicket between Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara and, although resistance was provided by in-form Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane who added 66 for the fifth wicket and Rahane and MS Dhoni who put on 55 for the sixth, the Proteas remained in control.   The last four wickets fell for just 14 runs for India to be all out ...
In the contest between Virat Kohli and Dale Steyn, the South African girls win over and over.
Murali Vijay was expecting an easy century I guess. Guess he is learning it the hard way. What was Rohit Sharma thinking. Fiery over by Dale Steyn.
Dale Steyn wicketless :O Steyn took the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan in the first innings of the first Test Match in his 5 th over there after he bowled 67 overs so far . :O :O
Dale Steyn has gone 61 overs of Test bowling without taking a wicket.
When Murali Vijay gets going against the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, you realize it is not going to be easy for Indian Pace battery on that pitch!

South Africa fast bowler Vernon Philander has achieved the coveted number-one ranking on the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers after a stellar performance against India in the Johannesburg Test, which ended in a thrilling draw on Sunday. Philander had entered the Test trailing team-mate Dale Steyn by four ratings points. While Philander recorded figures of four for 61 and three for 68, Steyn managed just one wicket. The contrasting performances resulted in Philander gaining 13 ratings points and Steyn conceding 13 ratings points. This swing means Philander now leads Steyn by 22 ratings points and the 28-year-old from Bellville will now start the Durban Test as the number-one ranked bowler in the world for the first time in his career. Reacting to the news that he is the new number-one ranked Test bowler, Philander said: “I am happy with my position as the No.1 ranked Test bowler. It is an honour to have been bowling alongside a champion like Dale. “It’s been a great couple of years for o ...

Castle Lager Proteas seamer, Vernon Philander, has expressed his delight after becoming the fastest South African to take 100 wickets on Friday. Philander took 19 matches passing the previous record held by Dale Steyn who took 20 matches, with India’s Shikhar Dhawan becoming his 100th victim. “ It’s a great feeling to eventually get there,” Philander said. “ I had been reminded even in the UAE about how far I was from 100 wickets. For me its another game, I prepare for each match exactly the same so hopefully I can get few more sticks for South Africa in the future.” Philander made his debut for the Proteas in October 2011, and shot to the international scene after picking up eight wickets in his maiden Test.  He has racked up the wickets since then, and also went on to become the joint second-fastest to 50 wickets, taking only seven Tests. His impressive achievement was marred by a disappointing performance by the Proteas on Friday, with India piling up a 320-run lead with eight wickets ...
piers who do you think is the best strike bowler,Dale Steyn,Mitch Johnson or Jimmy Anderson?
India did well in second half of the batting powerplay to pick up some wickets and the hosts lost momentum for a while before David Miller, with a cameo, propelled them past 300 with his 6th ODI fifty. Ishant was India's best bowler. He bagged 4 wickets and got to 100 ODI wickets, quicker than legends like Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dale Steyn. Shami Ahmed grabbed a few in the final overs but couldn't stop the Proteas from going past 300. This is the 10th time India have conceded 300 or more in ODIs this year . It is going to be an uphill task for the Indian batsmen but the wicket looks very good to bat on. WIll they show some character and get a consolation win or will South Africa complete a 3-0 whitewash. Join us back for the Indian reply to find out more. Letter to indian team Dear Men in Blue: I know the past few days have been terrible for you. The fans were circumspect about this tour even before you boarded the flight to South Africa; and when their fears came true, the nails and teeth have come out to rip you apart. If the defeats have hurt you badly, the mindless sarcasm has not done you any better. Of course, there is a reason to feel dejected. There is, however, no reason to feel demoralised. Over the years, the South African fast bowling unit has turned into a relentless, unstoppable behemoth that has been crushing every opposition, especially at home. Over the past two years they have managed to bowl out Sri Lanka for 43, New Zealand for 45, and Pakistan for 49 — all in the longest version of the sport. There is, thus, nothing to be ashamed of the result. There is nothing disgraceful in not being able to stand against Dale Steyn. Steyn is one of the greatest fast bowlers the world has seen in the last 25 years, and at times he becomes almost un ...

South Africa beats India by 134 runs in 2nd ODI DURBAN — Centuries from Quinton De Kock and Hashim Amla set up a resounding 134-run victory over India in the second one-day international as South African cricket paid tribute to former President Nelson Mandela in style. De Kock scored his second ton in as many matches as the Proteas posted 280-6, before South Africa's seamers secured an unassailable 2-0 series lead when they bowled out the pace-shy Indian batting lineup for just 146. The marked contrast in fortunes was summed up in the fact the Indian innings lasted 35.1 overs - the same length as the South African opening stand between De Kock (106) and Amla (100) that brought 194 runs. Lonwabo Tsotsobe claimed figures of 4-25 in the Indian innings, while Dale Steyn took 3-17.
While India's bowling performance was a lot better during the second ODI, their batting woes continued as they suffered their second loss on the trot to lose the ODI series against South Africa. Put in to bat, the hosts were given a superb start by Quinton De Kock (106) and Hashim Amla (100) before they lost quick wickets in the death overs to end up with a total of 280/6. In reply, the visitors struggled against the pacers yet again and were skittled out for just 146. Lonwabo Tsotsobe was the star performer with the ball, picking up 4/25 while Dale Steyn (3/17) and Morne Morkel (2/34) also did a good job. Steyn provided the opening breakthrough when Shikhar Dhawan (0), attempting a mighty drive, failed to keep it down and JP Duminy at point latched on to the catch. Virat Kohli too fell for a duck, nicking Tsotsobe to the keeper before the left-arm seamer cut-short Rohit Sharma's (19) stay - the right-hander could not execute a pull shot properly and found Amla at mid-wicket. Ajinkya Rahane did not stay f ...

Match Facts 2nd Momentum ODI Time: 8:00 GMT/ 13:30 IST Venue: Kingsmead, Durban Pace, bounce and poor bowling cost india the first ODI, a circumspect India will now take on a rejuvenated South African side at the Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday and try to draw level before going to the final ODI in Centurion THE REAL SCENARIO A dismal bowling performance and an extremely disciplined all round play by the opposition led to the defeat of the might of Indians in the first ODI, can they bounce back? INDIA Well it seems very difficult from here as form issues engulf the middle order and the vulnerability of the top order against the rising deliveries have compounded the worries of the Indian camp Although, Virat Kohli showed glimpses of his ability to counter high quality fast bowling and Captain Dhoni seemed at his aggressive best, the rest of the Indian order were found searching for answers against the masterclass of Dale Steyn and steep bounce of Morne Morkel accompanied with prodigious movement off the pitc ...
There is no need to speculate any more. We have some evidence now of the difficulties India’s new batting unit will face in South Africa. And while it is both unfair and unwise to write them off after just one outing, this first viewing shows that they have quite a bit of work to do if they are to get through the tour unscathed. Brimming with talent but short on experience in foreign conditions, the cream of India’s fledgling batting brigade now has first-hand experience of the difference between playing in subcontinent conditions and combatting high class pace bowling on surfaces that provide sharp bounce. They had been warned. How the likes of Shikar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli faced up stood up against Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and the legion of South Africa’s fast men would be the chief determining factor in the outcome of this eagerly awaited series. Now that the first skirmishes have taken place, India’s top order should totally appreciate the hardships that lie ahead. Rohit Sharma, ...
Dale Steyn's Fast bowling spell yesterday still buzzing me... Never seen good fast bowling since Chaminda Vaas and Glen McGrath retired. :)
Dear South Africa please take 2 bowlers Ishant Sharma and Ashish Nehra and instead give us just 1 Dale Steyn. . -Sincerely Indians .
Quinton De Kock hit a brilliant 135 as Cricket South Africa recorded a huge 141 victory over Indian Cricket Team . South Africa posted 358/4 in its 50 overs, including half- centuries from Amla, De Villiers & Duminy as India's seamers struggled in friendly conditions. India lost wickets regularly throughout its chase, with only MS Dhoni making a dent in the score book in a typical knock of 61. Dale Steyn and Ryan McLaren took 3 wickets each with the visitors all out for 217.
Bowlers hammered, batsmen fail pace test: A splendid ton by Quinton De Kock with quickfire fifties from AB De Villiers and JP Duminy coupled with some hostile fast bowling by Dale Steyn and co. handed South Africa a massive 141-run victory in the first ODI in Johannesburg.
Tales of dinner with Ragini Kashyap: One fine evening while having dinner with miss kashyap and watching India vs South Africa, where Dale Steyn is tearing apart Rohit Sharma, Morkel squaring up Kohli, and everyone is all praise over the bowling, Miss Kashyap suddenly comments: "Chi. Koi pink dress pehenke cricket khelta hai kiya." I mean are you serious? I wish you completed your basic education Miss Kashyap. :P

Allan Donald is not impressed with Dale Steyn's bowling. 11 balls and not a single one has hit the bat.
the expression on Rohit Sharma's face on the 5th ball of 1st over of Dale Steyn was like sayin k "ni bai ni.. Mohammad Hafeez sacha hai". akher and now Lonwabo Tsotsobe is also swinging the ball.
South Africa What a brilliant display of batting...! Hashim Amla, Quinton De Kock, AB DeVilliers, JP Duminy Shami Ahmed has an Good Bowling figure alongside Ravichandran Ashwin. Lets see if Indian Cricket Team can chase down the mammoth 359 runs against the likes of Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis and company.

Kallis, Steyn fit for Wanderers By Michael Sherman Johannesburg – Proteas' coach Russell Domingo is confident Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis will be ready to play in the first One Day International (ODI) cricket match against India at the Wanderers on Thursday. The pair missed the last ODI against Pakistan on Saturday, but the coach said they would make a welcome return for the start of the Indian tour at the Bullring. “I think it was precautionary that Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis didn't play the last game,” Domingo said in Johannesburg on Tuesday. “They did have some slight niggles, but we'll see how they go in practice and we'll be fine.” Although Kallis played in the two ODIs the Proteas lost against Pakistan, his presence in the team would be a boost, Domingo said. “It's great to have Jacques back. He's three players in one. It's great that he's playing again. “It does pose some selection challenges. It's not easy selecting a side where the guys in the past have done well individually. ...

Sunil Gavaskar trolling Rohit Sharma on commentary -African fast bowler Dale Steyn, which was summarized beautifully in a song by the evergreen Sunil Gavaskar.
Very rarely does the fast and furious Dale Steyn not take wickets with the new ball. Careful, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli, he's waiting for you to come to South Africa. The action begins in Johannesburg on December 5th.
Misbah should'nt had dropped Hafeez & Afridi because Hafeez was definitly gonna perform on a flat batting surface, in the absence of Dale Steyn. And Afridi could be a handful in the leg-break bowling. . For the moment, it seems as if they have lost the chance to White-Wash South Africans. Now let's see how big total they put on the Scoreboard. But one thing is for sure, South Africans stand very good chances in winning this match in the absence of Hafeez, Afridi, and Junaid Khan.
Dhawan exudes confidence ahead of RSA tour Mumbai, November 29 Shikhar Dhawan has been in the form of his life in 2013. A majestic century on Test debut against Australia in Mohali followed by a number of splendid ODI performances and the southpaw has taken the cricketing world by storm. As India embark on the high-profile tour of South Africa, the Indian opener is confident about his own performances as well as his team's chances in the Rainbow Nation. A number of South African players - the likes of AB De Villiers, Morne Morkel, JP Duminy, David Miller, Jacques Kallis and Dale Steyn to name a few - play for various franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and having locked horns with them over various editions, Dhawan believes that the Indian team members are well prepared to take them on in their own backyard. "I feel that all players in our side have benefited from the IPL, because we got a chance to play against international bowlers. The nervousness when facing international bowlers is no longe ...

Azhar Mahmood says Mohammad Hafeez has psychological issues not technical against Dale Steyn
Doesn't mattet who you are, you gotta feel very bad for South Africa today. :( :( They richely deserved the victory but still lost by just ONE run! :'( Well Played South Africa, specially Dale Steyn , AB De Villiers and Hashim Amla. You won are hearts CHAMPS!!!
The 'boys' in the Indian Cricket Team now have to become 'men' within two or three weeks as they tour South Africa. The pitches there would definitely be prepared to suit Dale Steyn, Mornie Morkel, Kleinveldt and the likes especially in the Tests.. Several young Indian batsmen too have been found wanting outside the sub-continent. From being 'flat-track bullies in our batsmen-friendly wickets, they have to quickly mature into 'fast-track players'. Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli have struggled against the bouncing ball. These batsmen have been found wanting in footwork and have consequently been opened up. Perhaps Pujara and Rohit Sharma may be able to survive because of application and technique. Murali Vijay will be his usual hero-to-zero-to-hero self.. The lack of solid back-foot play and the inherent inadequacies while coping with lifting deliveries have impacted the other attributes of their batsmanship as well. The short-pitched-full-length mix, with swing, has sent these batsmen packing. The good news ...
Dale Steyn hitting his straps rather nicely ahead of the India series. Feeling sorry for Murali Vijay.
Smith’s nemesis Zaheer returns 26 November By Stuart Hess Johannesburg: India’s first Test squad of the post-Sachin Tendulkar era features a host of batting talent for whom South Africa will be a major examination of temperament and technique. This generation of cricketers, particularly batsmen inspired by Tendulkar get the chance to take up the baton for Indian cricket for the first time since his retirement, and for the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the two Tests against the Proteas represent the opportunity to usher in a new era. That trio will form the heart of India’s batting line-up for the two Tests, and their battles – albeit brief ones because of the schedule for the tour being curtailed – with Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander and Morné Morkel will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the matches at the Wanderers and Kingsmead. Ajinkya Rahane, who has played just one Test, is the front-runner to fill the No 6 spot, although with India having a two-day warm-u ...

South Africa sparked another Pakistan batting collapse to win the second Twenty20 international by six runs in Dubai on Friday, taking the two-match series 2-0. It was another batting failure for Pakistan, who, chasing 151, were cruising along nicely at 101-3 in the 14th over before being restricted to 144-9 in their 20 overs. Paceman Wayne Parnell took 3-25 while leg-spinner Imran Tahir claimed 2-21 and spearhead Dale Steyn finished with 2-20 to rock Pakistan who lost seven wickets in the space of 43 runs. Sohaib Maqsood top-scored with 37 while Shahid Afridi (14) tried valiantly but failed in the end. Pakistan lost Ahmed Shehzad (21) and Mohammad Hafeez (nought) in quick succession but Maqsood carried on in style, hitting two boundaries and a six off 26 balls before Pakistan lost three wickets at 112. Tahir bowled Shoaib Malik (15)and Abdul Razzaq (nought) off successive deliveries while Quinton De Kock held a smart catch off Parnell to dismiss Maqsood as Pakistan slump from 112-4 to 112-7. South Africa ...
Players like Shahid Afridi and Sohail Tanvir even after playing more than 400 matches for Pakistan still don't understand a simple dynamic of the series of respecting Dale Steyn's wicket taking ability. You could have hit other bowlers out of the park if you respect him and let his overs go without any damage. A simple thing Pakistan failed to understand in all the chases.
A fine batting performance by Faf Du Plessis and Hashim Amla coupled with some excellent bowling from Wayne Parnell, Dale Steyn and Imran...
Dale Steyn bowled it full, Shahid Afridi hit it cleanly, the boundary was in sight but there was something in the way

Story Of Dale Steyn (Must Read) ♥ Dale Steyn made his Test debut in 2004 when England toured South Africa but had a lukewarm debut by the standards he has gone on to set. He picked up only eight wickets in his first three Tests and was dropped immediately after. He came back into the side in 2006 for the home series against New Zealand and started well by getting his first five wicket haul. He moved along steadily after that but with the competition growing heavily he found himself out of reckoning in early 2007. The reasons that counted against him included a claim that he lacked the fiery instinct required for a fast bowler. He came back as a completely transformed man when he got another chance later in the year when South Africa toured Pakistan. He picked up nine wickets in two games and got another five-fer. He raised the bar further with two ten wicket hauls against the touring Kiwis soon after and has not looked back since then. Records tumbled as he became the fastest South African to reach 100 ...

So Dale Steyn blocked me because I asked him why the ball didn't reverse today. Guess the truth hurts. And the answer is now clear too!

Dale Steyn is a master...too young to have seen Malcolm Marshall play but at least in my time Steyn is the best fast bowler i have seen...his skill and expertise at being able to make himself potent on slow and low subcontinental wickets is exceptional in much the same way as Marshall did in the 1980s...

Pakistan v South Africa, 2nd Test, Dubai, 3rd day South Africa in control, but hit by ball-tampering penalty Pakistan 99 and 132 for 4 trail South Africa 517 (Smith 234, De Villiers 164, Ajmal 6-151) by 286 runs South Africa's march towards a result that will draw the series and prolong their seven-year unbeaten record away from home continued unabated, but the gloss on their seemingly impeccable performance was lost when the on-field umpires penalised them for tampering with the ball. Graeme Smith's team ended the third day needing six wickets to complete an emphatic victory - probably by an innings considering Pakistan were still trailing by 286 with two days remaining - but the likelihood of a meeting with the Match Referee loomed large as the sun set in Dubai. The incident occurred two overs after tea, before the start of the 31st over, following television visuals of one player rubbing the ball allegedly on the zipper of his trouser pocket. The umpires Ian Gould and Rod Tucker called Graeme Smith ove ...

Graeme Smith gets a great applause from his teammates as he walks towards the dressing room. South Africa will feel happy about their performance today. First their bowlers, with chief destructors being Imran Tahir and Dale Steyn, bowled the hosts for just 99. Then the batsmen, led by skipper Smith with a fine fifty, have done well to take a slender lead. Having said that, the ball is spinning big and the Pakistani bowlers will get a lot of purchase out of this surface which is already carrying quite a few rough patches. South Africa cannot be complacent while the Pakistani bowlers will have to keep things tight in the first session tomorrow to stay in this game. As I said earlier, Pakistan had bounced back after being bowled out for 99 at this very ground in 2012 to beat England by 71 runs. So it is going to be a cracking Day 2 of this Test match tomorrow. South Africa tour of UAE 2013-14 Donald leaves SA team on UAE tour : South Africa's bowlers will have to find their rhythm without bowling coach Allan Donald, who has returned home from the tour of the UAE. Donald, who was appointed bowling coach in June 2011, left the camp on an "extended leave of absence" due to personal reasons, and team manager Mohammad Moosajee said they are "not sure when he will return." Vincent Barnes, the former bowling coach who is now in charge of Cricket South Africa's high-performance programme and is also a national selector, will take over. Barnes worked with the national team for a lengthy period under Mickey Arthur and was Corrie van Zyl's assistant before Gary Kirsten took over. Now mom had a bit of a problem because she adores Dhawan (Sunrisers’ Captain) as well as Cameron White, Dale Steyn is not too bad and she likes Darren Sammy as well and Irfant Sharma is top of her Hyderabad list BUT they were playing CSK: Stephen Fleming – need I say more…..actually I do: mr C ...
