So Dale Steyn blocked me because I asked him why the ball didn't reverse today. Guess the truth hurts. And the answer is now clear too!
"you will find people wondering how it was possible that Dale Steyn managed to find reverse swing from the 20th over of the Pakistan first innings while Pakistan's bowlers barely found any for the 163.1 overs they were in the field." Firdose Moonda in Dubai ESPN Cricinfo

26-10-13 Sports News DUBAI: Asad Shafiq and captain Misbah-ul-Haq frustrated South Africa's bid for victory with half centuries and guided Pakistan to 198-4 at lunch on the fourth day of the second cricket Test on Saturday.Shafiq, who successfully reversed an lbw decision on TV referral when on 36, was unbeaten on 67 with seven fours and a six.Misbah was batting on a solid 60 with three fours and a six as both shared a 128-run for the fifth wicket stand to keep South Africa at bay.Pakistan, which won the first Test by seven wickets, still needed 220 runs to avoid an innings defeat and stop the Proteas from leveling the two-match series.South Africa plundered 517 in its first innings for a monumental 418-run lead after Pakistan was dismissed for just 99.On a day when Faf du Plessis escaped with a fine of 50 percent of his match fee for ball tampering, South Africa struggled to get the breakthrough with Misbah and Shafiq showing lot of patience and grit.Captain Graeme Smith took the second new ball just bef ...

Bit late, but that ball-tampering was low from Faf & Vern. You have Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir & Vern himself in the line-up!
Dale Steyn is the Sachin Tendulkar of bowling..
In UAE, Dale Steyn is trying his best bowling at 140+, swinging the ball a little to get a wicket but Misbah Ul Haq is just coming on the front foot and is block him every ball calmly to frustrate him. And Pakistan fans still hate him :/

Dale Steyn is a master...too young to have seen Malcolm Marshall play but at least in my time Steyn is the best fast bowler i have seen...his skill and expertise at being able to make himself potent on slow and low subcontinental wickets is exceptional in much the same way as Marshall did in the 1980s...
67 test matches 340 wickets. Dale Steyn you beast!
Pakistan v South Africa, 2nd Test, Dubai, 3rd day South Africa in control, but hit by ball-tampering penalty Pakistan 99 and 132 for 4 trail South Africa 517 (Smith 234, de Villiers 164, Ajmal 6-151) by 286 runs South Africa's march towards a result that will draw the series and prolong their seven-year unbeaten record away from home continued unabated, but the gloss on their seemingly impeccable performance was lost when the on-field umpires penalised them for tampering with the ball. Graeme Smith's team ended the third day needing six wickets to complete an emphatic victory - probably by an innings considering Pakistan were still trailing by 286 with two days remaining - but the likelihood of a meeting with the Match Referee loomed large as the sun set in Dubai. The incident occurred two overs after tea, before the start of the 31st over, following television visuals of one player rubbing the ball allegedly on the zipper of his trouser pocket. The umpires Ian Gould and Rod Tucker called Graeme Smith ove ...
South Africa penalised for ball-tampering In control Proteas fined five runs for meddling with the ball South Africa were docked five penalty runs for ball-tampering on the third day of the second Test against Pakistan in Dubai on Friday. Television replays showed South African fielder Faf du Plessis rubbing the ball on his trousers, which had a zip on them, in an apparent attempt to tamper with the ball. Umpires Rod Tucker of Australia and England's Ian Gould called South African captain Graeme Smith, changed the ball and added five runs to Pakistan's score. Pakistan were struggling at 62 for three with Dale Steyn about to start the 31st over when the umpires took notice of the ball and took the decision. Under International Cricket Council (ICC) rule 42.1 on tampering, if an umpire spots a change in the condition of the ball but doesn't know who is the culprit, he will issue a first and final warning to the captain and the ball will be changed. In case the ball is tampered with again, the bowling team w ...

THE Castle Lager Proteas took four of the 10 second innings wickets they needed to complete victory over Pakistan by stumps on day three of the second Test match at Dubai on Friday. At the close Pakistan had reached 132/4 and needed a massive target of a further 286 runs to make the Proteas bat again. Nevertheless it was Pakistan’s best day of the series to date. They finally won a session when they took the last six Proteas first innings wickets for 57 runs in the morning session although it was slightly tarnished by the fact that they lost both their opening batsmen for just two runs to Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander off the 11 balls that were bowled before the delayed lunch interval. Saeed Ajmal, as always, was the bowling star of the show for Pakistan, finishing with 6/151 from his mammoth effort of 55.5 overs. It is the second time he has taken six wickets in an innings against the Proteas this year. Graeme Smith and AB de Villiers extended their record fifth wicket partnership to 338 ...

Graeme Smith gets a great applause from his teammates as he walks towards the dressing room. South Africa will feel happy about their performance today. First their bowlers, with chief destructors being Imran Tahir and Dale Steyn, bowled the hosts for just 99. Then the batsmen, led by skipper Smith with a fine fifty, have done well to take a slender lead. Having said that, the ball is spinning big and the Pakistani bowlers will get a lot of purchase out of this surface which is already carrying quite a few rough patches. South Africa cannot be complacent while the Pakistani bowlers will have to keep things tight in the first session tomorrow to stay in this game. As I said earlier, Pakistan had bounced back after being bowled out for 99 at this very ground in 2012 to beat England by 71 runs. So it is going to be a cracking Day 2 of this Test match tomorrow. Join us back for all that unfolds from 10:00 AM Local Time

bowler Dale Steyn is doubtful for South Africa's must-win second Test against Pakistan after sustaining a hamstring injury. Steyn picked up the problem during practice on Sunday, and did not participate in the team's workout on Monday. Pakistan ended South Africa's 15-match unbeaten run with a seven-wicket victory in the first Test in Abu Dhabi. The second and final match begins on Wednesday in Dubai.
South Africa tour of UAE 2013-14 Donald leaves SA team on UAE tour : South Africa's bowlers will have to find their rhythm without bowling coach Allan Donald, who has returned home from the tour of the UAE. Donald, who was appointed bowling coach in June 2011, left the camp on an "extended leave of absence" due to personal reasons, and team manager Mohammad Moosajee said they are "not sure when he will return." Vincent Barnes, the former bowling coach who is now in charge of Cricket South Africa's high-performance programme and is also a national selector, will take over. Barnes worked with the national team for a lengthy period under Mickey Arthur and was Corrie van Zyl's assistant before Gary Kirsten took over. He was credited with playing a big role in the development of the current attack, having overseen Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander's formative years in international cricket. His approach is slightly different to Donald's, whose emphasis is on aggression, but head coach Russell Domin ...

26 September: only one game today……it felt so weird no to have 2 games! All Crew A’s matches are double-headers except for today and the semi or final. We really work hard but we have a great crew – not one person have complained once. Love you Crew A! So we slept late (what’s new!), actually we got up at 06:00 and had brekkie (an ice cold bottle of Vanilla Ensure), went back to sleep – woke up at about 10:00, had a banana – went on the internet – slept again until 14:00, made lunch (whole wheat sarmie with cheese and tomato) – went on the internet and took a shower at 15:00, ready for the bus at 16:00. Off to the stadium we went for mom’s beloved Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. Now mom had a bit of a problem because she adores Dhawan (Sunrisers’ Captain) as well as Cameron White, Dale Steyn is not too bad and she likes Darren Sammy as well and Irfant Sharma is top of her Hyderabad list BUT they were playing CSK: Stephen Fleming – need I say more…..actually I do: mr C ...

The player draft of the second Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) season is scheduled for July 14 in Colombo and is expected to contain several international players, including a strong South African contingent, according to the league's chief executive officer, Ajith Jayasekara. The league is scheduled between August 10 and September 7. "We have the entire South African squad with the exception of Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis lined up to take part," Jayasekara said. "Pakistan has also shown their intention to send their present lot of cricketers but the participation of most of their key players depends on whether their tour to Zimbabwe takes place." South Africa are due to tour Sri Lanka from July 20 to August 6 for five ODIs and three T20s and there is a possibility that members of the visiting team will stay back to participate in the league. "With the exception of England and India, players from all the other Test-playing nations have shown interest in participating in the league," Jayasekara said. "Ev ...
Morkel, de Kock return to SA ODI squad (Submitted by Sports Journalist) Morne Morkel, who limped out of the Champions Trophy with a quad strain, has been named in South Africa's squad to tour Sri Lanka later this month. The group will be under the control of newly-appointed head coach Russell Domingo and will play five ODIs and three T20s but no Tests because of a request by the SLC to postpone the longer format. While Domingo has one pace ace back, he will be without another. Dale Steyn, has been left out of the squad as he still needs about three weeks of recovery after a side-strain and groin injury dented his participation in the Champions Trophy. Steyn played only one of South Africa's four games and will be rested to ensure he is fully fit for the upcoming summer which includes a trip to the UAE and incoming tours by India and Australia. The rest of the fifty-over squad had a familiar look about it with only one change to the 15 who were at the Champions Trophy. Wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock has be ...
Star South African fast bowler Dale Steyn was excluded from two national squads Thursday for an 18-day tour of Sri Lanka. The Proteas play five one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches between July 20 and August 6 in capital city Colombo, Kandy and Hambantota. "We are resting Steyn as we have a very important and crowded Test season ahead," Cricket South Africa selection convener Andrew Hudson told reporters in Johannesburg. "We want to be absolutely certain that Dale, as the leader of our attack, is properly rested and fit. "Graeme Smith could not be considered because of his long-term recovery process following surgery." Steyn helped South Africa reach the ICC Champions Trophy semi-finals in England last month, while a recurring ankle injury sidelined star batsman Smith. The tour marks the debut of new Proteas coach Russell Domingo and he will be in charge of 16-strong ODI and T20 squads with 12 cricketers included in both. Hashim Amla, Colin Ingram, Alviro Petersen and Robin Peterson play only ...

Proteas fans fickle, players doing well By Dr. Ali Bacher Johannesburg – I have been somewhat surprised and disappointed at the fickleness of our cricket supporters after our semi-final exit from the Champions Trophy a few weeks ago. Memories can be so short. We are the No 1 Test team in the world, having beaten both England and Australia away from home in 2012 and then clobbered both Pakistan and New Zealand at home during the 2012/13 season. The facts that relate to our loss against England in the semi-final are that our team were without four of our best world-class players – Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis (South Africa’s finest ever all-rounder), Morné Morkel, and probably South Africa’s best fast bowler of all time, Dale Steyn. I ask you if India were without MS Dhoni, R Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma, would they have won the final? I also read we remain a team of chokers. Choking is when two teams approach the finish neck and neck, and one team falters through lack of big match tempera ...
If you are asked to make a Gentleman's XI based on the most decent and well behaved cricketers on and off the field then which 3 will you select as your opening fast bowlers and frontline spinner for Test Cricket? Admin's pick:- Brett Lee, Dale Steyn and Anil Kumble B)
He is the man who played for India for the past 23 years, and saved India's modesty and status in cricket till now. He glorified Indian Cricket. He made bowlers cry whom you love like Shoaib Akhtar, Dale Steyn, Shane Bond, Shane Warne, and the world's top class bowlers. He has been an iconic personality for over billion people. He has been the most successful cricketer ever in chasing, and has scored 11157 runs in chasing and has been accepted as the most successful match winner in the Cricketing world, and he runs like Ussain Bolt on the pitch at the age of 40. He has outstanding achievments, but I dont know why the *** the Indians hate him, and the australians, english, and the africans *** it that Tendulkar was not born in their country, so that they may possess such a dynamic batsman. Why do the Indians hate SIR Sachin Tendulkar? Admin: KAP 5

England Ease Through To Champions Trophy Final England 179-3 (Trott 82no) beat South Africa 175 (Anderson 2-14) by 7 wickets ICC Champions Trophy, 1st Semi-Final, The Oval England booked their place in the ICC Champions Trophy final by demolishing an outclassed South Africa at The Oval. James Anderson did the early damage, with James Tredwell and then Stuart Broad taking over as South Africa were bowled out for 175. Jonathan Trott then led England’s successful run chase and finished unbeaten on 82 as they won with 75 balls to spare. The day began badly for South Africa on three different fronts. The first piece of bad luck was the news that Dale Steyn was ruled out of this crucial fixture with a groin injury, while the second was the loss of an important toss. James Anderson and Steven Finn - playing in place of Tim Bresnan, who is on paternity leave - then proved true the adage that trouble comes in threes by utilising the early swing with the new balls to dismiss an opener apiece in their first overs. ...

Early seam movement & swing predicted for the pitch. Looks a great track for Dale Steyn to bowl on. He's in for Phangiso. Windies have won the toss and will bowl first. OK boys! Get them! Pure Protea, 100% South African!
West Indies have won the toss and chose to field first. it will be a 36 Overs Match Devon Smith is playing and Dale Steyn come back in South Africa's line up
South Africa After a straightforward loss against India in their opening match of the tournament, South Africa did well to bounce back and beat Pakistan by a huge margin of 67 runs just last week. The mainstay of the team is their exceptional batting. Right from the openers till number seven in their unit, all batsmen have been in a brilliant form and if they win the toss, one can expect a barrage of runs. Hashim Amla has been destructive hitting a solid 81 that helped him earn the Man of the match award in the previousmatch. The other batsmen Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, David Miller, Ryan McLaren all have been in decent form contributing useful runs tothe total. Although there have been middle-order collapses that have pegged back their batting at times, one cannot deny that South Africa commands one of the best batting units in the tournament and they would be expected to put up a fighting total when they take on West Indies. Having no Dale Steyn or Morne Morkel in the side, on paper, mak ...
Birmingham: Hashim Amla hailed South Africa's rising stars after a team missing injured strike bowlers Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel returned to winning ways at the Champions Trophy. Scorecard | Schedule | Stats | Points Table | Teams and Squads Man-of-the-match Amla laid the foundation for a 67-run victory over Pakistan in a day/night clash at Edgbaston on Monday. (Also read: South Africa vs Pakistan match report) The opener's typically stylish 81 off 97 balls was the centrepiece of South Africa's 234 for nine made after skipper AB de Villiers won the toss. (Related: De Villiers relishes win vs Pakistan) Amla's excellence is no surprise but what caught the eye was when Chris Morris, called up after Morkel suffered a tournament-ending leg injury in the Proteas' opening loss to India, marked his one-day international debut with a new-ball burst of two wickets for 10 runs in 19 balls. Left-arm paceman Lonwabo Tsotsobe chipped in with two for 23 and Ryan McLaren, a right-arm seamer like Morris, wrapped up the ...
BREAKING NEWS FROM ICC CHAMP TROPHY **DANGERMAN DALE STYEN PASS THE MATCH FITNESS TEST South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn has been passed fit for Friday's winner-takes-all Champions Trophy Group B clash against West Indies in Cardiff. A side strain kept Steyn out of South Africa's opening two matches of the tournament, but he bowled at full intensity in the nets on Thursday, a statement from Cricket South Africa said. The winner of Friday's match will join India in the semifinals of the competition from the pool. Steyn's return would boost a depleted South Africa bowling line-up already missing Morne Morkel, though just who would make way is unclear. Captain AB de Villiers suggested the decision would be based around whether the team persevere with their two frontline spinners, Robin Peterson and Aaron Phangiso. Chris Morris would be the likely casualty if South Africa decided to go that route, otherwise Phangiso would make way.
SA v WI, Champions Trophy, Group B, Cardiff Rain threat looms over crucial tie The Preview by Firdose Moonda at Cardiff June 13, 2013 Match Facts Friday, June 14, 2013, Cardiff Start time 10.30am (9.30 GMT) Dale Steyn has been declared fit and is available for the match © ICC Enlarge Related Links News : A question of self-belief for West Indies Matches: South Africa v West Indies at Cardiff Series/Tournaments: ICC Champions Trophy Teams: South Africa | West Indies Big Picture A glance at Cardiff's pregnant skies is enough to set the tone for the knockout clash between South Africa and West Indies and it is not a positive one. What should be a fascinating clash between a team that dominates outside of major tournaments and a team trying to recreate their glory days may not even happen. If it does, it is likely to be interrupted by rain. Should the wet weather have the final say, South Africa will progress by virtue of a better net run-rate but they will not want to go into the real knockouts in such fort ...
It has been an epic day at Sport24HQ, with a mixed bag of results for South Africa's sporting stars (and starlets). It started with Francois Botha being knocked out in the second round in his bout with New Zealand's Joseph Parker. A war of words seemed to ensue between Dwayne Bravo and the Proteas ahead of tomorrow's ICC Champions Trophy clash, but the Proteas will be going to bed a bit happier with the news that Dale Steyn is fit and available for selection. Three South Africans found themselves sharing the early US Open lead before Phil Mickelson grabbed Merion by the horns. And finally, the Baby Boks ensured that they stayed alive in their defence of their IRB Junior World Championship crown. What was your biggest highlight of today?
"I'll go with the West Indies. South Africa will benefit from Dale Steyn, but the Windies will have the edge." Waqar Younis
Dale Steyn is fit for the Proteas tomorrow. Can our batsmen handle him? What do you think?
Good to hear Dale Steyn is fit and available for selection for the Proteas' Champions Trophy match against West Indies
I would turn Sunil Narine, Dale Steyn & Chris Gayle into Indians & make them a part of Indian cricket team ;)

Will the real Tsotsobe stand up By: Antoinette Muller A week is a long time in cricket, or so they say. Lonwabo Tsotsobe and South Africa didn’t even need a week to pull their fingers out and come back from a rather dodgy spell of bowling against India in their opening ICC Champions Trophy fixture on June 6. Against Pakistan on Monday, the South Africans looked a completely different side to the one which lost against India. Barring a few absurd run outs and the batsmen, aside from Hashim Amla, not quite managing to dig in their heels, the team looked a far more complete unit. The bowlers all performed out of their skins, rookie Chris Morris had a dream debut and Ryan McLaren continued to play as if his life depended on it. Tsotsobe, though, was particularly impressive. Not entirely because of his figures, but in the way he improved his tactics and how mature he was in leading the attack. With both Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel ruled out through injury it was up to him to assume responsibility and become ...
South Africa's hopes of reaching the Champions Trophy semi-finals received a boost with the news that pace spearhead Dale Steyn is likely to be fit for their virtual quarter-final against West Indies on June 14. Given their poor record in knockout matches, South Africa will look to the experience of their best bowler to help them win. IR
Editorial -2 Pakistan makes unceremonious exit In the absence of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, the relatively weak South African bowling attack rattled Pakistan, once again exposing the limitation of the players’ technique, temperament, capability and maturity to deal with the swing, the seam and the bounce that English pitches offer. Even the two batters Captain Misbahul Haq and Nasir Jamshed, who managed to score some runs in the two lost matches, never looked like match-winners at the international level. Against the lowly rated West Indies, Pakistan bowling made a match out of it but its batting failed to click against the pace of KAJ Roach. Then again in a crucial match against South Africa, Pakistan batsmen failed to cope with pace of a debutant Chris Morris and the spin of JP Duminy and Robin Peterson. Pakistan opener Imran Farhat, who has been in the side for the reasons best known to the headless Pakistan Cricket Board, was cleaned bowled through the gate like a naïve club cricketer. Even worst ...
Hashim Amla, the Man of the Match in the triumph over Pakistan, paid generous tribute to the South African bowlers here at Edgbaston on Monday. It was valid praise after an inexperienced Proteas bowling unit defended a total of 234/9 with relative ease to keep South Africa’s hopes the Champions Trophy alive. South Africa handed a one-day international debut to fast bowler Chris Morris, while left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso was recalled for only his second cap in the absence of the injured Dale Steyn and Morné Morkel. The Highveld Lions pair did not disappoint, especially Morris, who bowled with impressive pace to claim the first two Pakistani wickets, which immediately halted the run chase. “Yeah, we all know the capabilities of Chris and Phangi,” Amla said. “They have been with the team, Chris with the T20 team, and Phangi has been with us for a while. I think everybody knew of their skills and fortunately today they managed to prove it. The environment in the team is really conducive for them c ...

lot of players I am missing in this CT13.either they are out of this tournament for injury/lack of fitness/personal reason or brainless team management has opted not to pick them/has forced them to retire from ODI... Sachin Tendulkar, Mike Hussey, Kevin Pietersen, Jacques Kallis, Criag Kieswetter, Zaheer Khan, Graeme Smith, Albie Morkel, Vernon Philander, Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi, Shivnarayan Chanderpaul, Gautam Gambhir, Ryan Harris, Harbhajan Singh, Umar Gul, David Hussey, Morne Morkel, Aaron Finch, Umar Akmal, Welegedara, Trent Boult.the list goes longer with Dale Steyn, Greme Swann, Darren Sammy.
this pitch would make Dale Steyn look like Ashish Nehra
I'm sure South Africa will win the trophy :) Don't get your hopes up ok? Dale Steyn, AB De Villiers and Hashim Amla
South Africa seek redemption after loss. South Africa face a tough task to put their Champions Trophy campaign back on track after being laid low by injuries and a demoralising defeat to India. The Proteas hopes of winning the tournament slipped when they crashed by 26 runs against Mahendra Singh Dhoni's world champions in a high-scoring opener in Cardiff on Thursday (June 6). AB de Villiers men must now defeat Pakistan in Birmingham on Monday to keep their hopes alive of taking one of the two semi-final spots from group B, which also features the West Indies. Victory will depend largely on how quickly their two strike fast bowlers, the fearsome Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, recover from injuries. Steyn did not play against India due to a side strain suffered during a warm-up match against Pakistan earlier this week, while Morkel limped of with a leg injury while bowling his seventh over on Thursday. Neither of the key bowlers is a certain starter against Pakistan, who already enjoy a psychological edge fo ...

Kemar Roach is like Dale Steyn for us atm :/
Mohammed Hafeez has serious issues with facing quality fast bowling. Dale Steyn had him tied in knots and now Kemar Roach.
Idea for a poll: Would you rather see Dale Steyn play 16 IPL games or 4-5 ODIs?
coz watching Sachin play dale steyn is priceless
Kemar Roach removes farhat.. 1 dwn for the pakistanis.
can the cricket gods please make this one to be a draw for Dale Steyn to come back and bowl us back ontrack.
of seeing Dale Steyn bowling at more than 150 kph & surprising batsman
Morne Morkel ruled out of Dale Steyn too missing the first game. Smith and Kallis already out. God save South Africa.
Big Blow - After Dale Steyn's injury, Morne Morkel ruled out of Big 4 of SA gone. Tougher for them now.
they love to experience the thrill in pain...no pain no gain...keep.away Dale Steyn.

After Proteas struggled with Indian Batsmen. Is there any Bowlers who are left who can be a good boost for SA..? proteas
With both Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel injured, surely the Proteas should send an SOS to Vernon Philander??
Do you think the Proteas have what is takes to go all the way to the final in the ICC Champions Trophy following their loss to India?
The dashing left-hander (Dhawan) who scored his maiden ODI century, said the absence of Dale Steyn did not make the South African attack any weaker...Lolz..:D

ICC Champions Trophy Prospectus Group B Teams & their stats: A]South Africa STRENGTHS - Solid all-round side with an attack spearheaded by the menace of Dale Steyn and bounce of Morne Morkel. Always field brilliantly and determined to erase their reputation as chokers in big tournaments. WEAKNESSES - The absences of Graeme Smith (injury) and Jacques Kallis (personal reasons) weaken the specialist batting. KEY PLAYER - AB de Villiers carries a heavy burden as captain, wicketkeeper and brilliant attacking batsmen. If he fires in all three roles, South Africa will be the side to beat. SQUAD - AB de Villiers (captain), Farhaan Behardien, Faf du Plessis, Rory Kleinveldt, David Miller, Alviro Petersen, Aaron Phangiso, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Colin Ingram, Ryan McLaren, Morne Morkel, Robin Peterson, Dale Steyn. B]INDIA STRENGTHS - Strong batting throughout completed by captain MS Dhoni, the best finisher in world cricket. Won the last World Cup in a country where one-day cricket is king. WEAKNE ...
Well, India were good yesterday. They might have seen off Dale Steyn's overs! Life is all about ifs and buts :)
What is there to disagree. Dale Steyn is just a name. Feared Morkel left bowling of getting bad economy
Dale Steyn's replacement - Kleinveldt -went for 10-0-81-0. What are the chances that Steyn would have ended with these figures?
Statistical analysis of India-South Africa match. -South Africa have now lost seven of the 11 ODIs they have played in England since 2007. They have won only two of these games with two games ending without a result. Their win-loss ratio of 0.28 is the worst for visiting teams in England. -India's score of 331 for 7 was their second highest in ODIs against South Africa, their highest being 401 for 3 at Gwalior in 2010, when Sachin Tendulkar scored the first 200 in ODIs. -This was also the highest ODI score at Cardiff. The previous highest at this ground was 304 for 6, also by India. -This was India's highest total against South Africa in matches played outside India. -Lonwabo Tsotsobe's 2 for 83 in this match was the third most expensive spell by a South African bowler against India, after Wayne Parnell's 2 for 95 and Dale Steyn's 0 for 89 in the same Gwalior match. -This was only the tenth time in ODIs that two or more bowlers from the same team went for 80 or more runs in their spells. South Africa have ...
''Proteas just miss morkel and steyn to keep runs 30 to 40 less than they scored''Shaun ***
Champions Trophy India Beat South Africa - observations and my thoughts. Firstly hats off to Team india and Dhawan specifically for a fantastic performance and great start. Got chance to watch the highlights and it was amazing. Beating South Africa any time is always morale booster. Now lets come to observations Before even match started there was a report about injury to Dale steyn and he may not play (no fevicol thoughts here but hard to resist) South African bowlers all tried to bowl short repeatedly, had one success but doesn't explain the strategy Dhawan is a delight to watch, got the height and body movement in all the shorts, reminds one of Ganguly in stepping up to bowlers and the cover drives. But Ganguly is more stylish Helmets are best protection to batsman today's game, i almost Kohli hit in face by a steep raising ball. Even with helmet he could have got hit, it happened to M Pringle a SA player long back on J Srinath's ball.
Yes :) I am a huge fan of Dale Steyn. Sad to see him not play and he would have destroyed the Indian top order
Today. In IndVsSa, If Dale Steyn was there, then he should've created great impact in bowling. Everyone knows we're lucky.
If i had just lost dale steyn, and i had not real spinner and no Kallis, i wouldn't want to bowl 1st
without AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn South African don't have a cricket team start choosing players on there performance
Cricket: There is little doubt that the modern age of Test Cricket has seen the game become so in favour of the batsmen. You see this not only through the observati

The Indians had an advantage of winning an they used it. Well South Africa tried with 5 of the best players out of the match due to injuries & they still managed to give the Indians a hard time. If Dale Steyn & Vernon Philanda were in this match then this game was gonna be a walk in the park. Disappointed but still Loving my Boys though.
South African skipper says Dale Steyn looks doubtful and may not be risked in ...
why india won the match ? 1. No dale steyn 2. Morkel couldn't complete his spell 3. India's fielding :P
Without Dale Steyn Proteas were a bit clumsy today!
Thanks Dale Steyn for letting India to have winning start in Champions Trophy... But i am very eagerly waiting for those deadly outswingers...
South Africa Don't missed Dale Steyn today, they really missed Asish Nehra more than steyn..
The result may have been affected if Dale Steyn was playing, nevertheless India always seemed to be in for the win
Yeah, it was. RTDale Steyn not playing. That light breeze you just felt was Suresh Raina's massive sigh of relief.
so am I :/ i must admit though Dale Steyn is an amazing bowler, I didnt even watch the match so i dont knw how eveyone played
We want the same team here in Zim on the 26th of July. We teach you one or two things. Come on India. Give us that tour!
South Afrika Dint missed Dale Steyn today, besides they really missed Asish Nehra !!! :D :P -®[v]™-
there are stains in the Proteas Camp because there was no Dale Steyn in Cardiff at Wales that's why we lost in our opening match against India
Dale Steyn is doing an excellent job for the national side, he is ranked the no.1 test bowler in the world at the moment
It was one of those days for India when it doesn't matter which end the fielders throw you are bound to get a run out... Such wins are only way BCCI can claim to have cleaned their system though I hope they have not wasted money in fixing this when the world knows that they were playing against chokers!!!
A magnificent hundred from Shikhar Dhawan was the highlight as India started its Champions Trophy campaign with a 26-run victory over South Africa, one of the pre-tournament favourites. The new-look opening partnership of Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave India a 127-run start, and a couple of late cameos boosted it to a score that proved beyond South Africa despite the best efforts of Robin Peterson, AB de Villiers and Ryan McLaren. Even without Dale Steyn in the opposition ranks, India started circumspectly after being asked to bat in slightly overcast conditions. The first five overs produced just 15, and it was only when Rohit smashed Lonwabo Tsotsobe over deep cover for six that the sizeable contingent of Indian fans started to make themselves heard. They were rarely quiet thereafter. South Africa’s tactics seemed to be based on the short ball, but aside from Morne Morkel, who bowled a tidy four-over spell for just eight runs, it lacked the personnel to execute the plan. Rohit brutalised short deliverie ...
Offtopic: Gutted for SA. Clearly missed Dale Steyn. Bowling was shockingly weak today. Credit where its due, Good going India!
Well played Shikhar Dhawan, excellent knock from the young man. India certainly could have won the match by a lot more runs and by a very good net run rate had they broke the last wicket partnership between Morne & Mc Laren a bit earlier. Anyways can't change the typical Indian bowler mentality of struggling to pack the tail enders early. Luckily for India the ever lethal Dale Steyn was not in the playing XI for the proteas. Now we shall hope that the Men in Blue continue winning consistently. 4 more consecutive wins and they will emerge as the champions, as simple as that.
If Dale Steyn had played for SA today we would have lost this match
India would have failed had Dale Steyn been there
He...he...he.Dale steyn suks Nehera rocks.
Great win for India...never expected them to beat South Africa...brilliant fielding by the team...only wish now is to beat Pakisan...one thought that is bothering me is that everybody is talking about fixing in India but Dale Steyn was abslutley fit in IPL and refused to bowl today...can someone tell me why ?
This is looking like the Sunrisers' Bowling attack without Dale steyn.
South Africa lost first match against india,i am sad yaar
Where are u Dale Steyn basidla kabuhlungu so ku cricket.
Dale Steyn was the only difference in today's Match.
In the absence of dale steyn our kids got a win against southafrica with a short margin
I doubt India would have posted that total had Dale Steyn been available.
