Thank you to my friend Elizabeth Bailey for sharing this and of course thank you to the Dalai Lama. I often come across the idea in many people that forgiveness is weak or some kind of wooly liberal soft idea. Firstly, it takes a lot of strength to forgive someone. It is not a weakness. Secondly, forgiving someone does not mean releasing them of the responsibility for their actions. That responsibility stays with them regardless. They are not let off the hook at all. What forgiving does is to help the person on the receiving end of their action to start healing. You don't even have to tell a person you forgive them. It's in your own mind that counts. Its your own peace of mind that's the most important and that is what forgiving along, with other things, helps you find.

Yesterday we were sent a link of an Amnesty International advertisement about torturing and with that was a horrible shocking photo (faux) of HH the Dalai Lama, his face beaten and with blood. We quickly read through the advertisement (in french) and called the Amnesty International in London who told us that the Advertisement came from Amnesty Belgium and they gave us their phone number and also told they would call and email their media staff about the Dalai Lama photo. We called to Belgium to the Amnesty and were very kindly helped by the French speaking media staff who understood why we wanted to have HH picture taken off immediately from that advertisement of torture. Within 10 minutes we received a phone call that they had taken the photo off line and that it was no longer on their site or advertisement. We want to thank Amnesty International for their very quick action and understanding in this matter. UNFFT.

Whether one is rich or poor, educated or illiterate, religious or nonbelieving, man or woman, black, white, or brown, we are all the same. Physically, emotionally, and mentally, we are all equal. We all share basic needs for food, shelter, safety, and love. We all aspire to happiness and we all shun suffering. Each of us has hopes, worries, fears, and dreams. Each of us wants the best for our family and loved ones. We all experience pain when we suffer loss and joy when we achieve what we seek. On this fundamental level, religion, ethnicity, culture, and language make no difference. —Dalai Lama

If you feel "burnout" setting in, if you feel demoralized and exhausted, it is best, for the sake of everyone, to withdraw and restore yourself. The point is to have a long-term perspective. - The Dalai Lama
We need to be clear which emotions are harmful and which are helpful; then cultivate those that are conducive to peace of mind. Often, due to a lack of knowledge, we accept anger and hatred as natural parts of our minds. This is an example of ignorance being the source of our problems. To reduce our destructive emotions we strengthen the positive ones; such emotional hygiene can contribute to a healthier society. ― Dalai Lama

WAR, IRAQ, ENLIGHTENMENT Sometimes, it’s when all hope is seemingly lost that the greatest breakthroughs occur in life. Whatever forces us to recognize the limit to what we can do by ourselves, opens the mind to consider the possibility that there might be another way. When everything is all messed up, we’ve played all our cards, and we don’t have a clue what to do now – that often becomes a magic moment. Commonly called “bottoming out,” it’s the point when we realize that our way isn’t working – and then miraculously, things start working. Nations can bottom out, just like individuals. And the situation in Iraq is just such a moment. You know the government is running out of cards to play when they’re thinking maybe Iran can help. Or when the media’s idea of great coverage is to call and ask the people who got us into Iraq for any great ideas they might have now that it’s all exploded in our faces. To say we’re grasping for straws is an understatement. Looking at the power of IS ...

An open letter to Robert Thurman Dear Mr Thurman, I hope you don’t mind me writing, but I felt it very necessary to put right some of your false claims regarding the practice of Dorje Shugden. It is beyond the remit of this letter to address any specific religious points as they are doctrinal discussions that have no place here, however you make several incorrect statements in your article/letter/editorial piece entitled, “The Dalai Lama and the Cult of Dolgyal Shugden” which is published on the Huffington Post Religion site and was recently re-published on the Dalai Lama's official website. The first error is in the title where you refer to Dorje Shugden incorrectly as Dolgyal Shugden. As you are well aware the term ‘Dolgyal’ is offensive and racist towards Dorje Shugden followers, I can only assume that you include it in your title as a way of trying to bring the offensive term into popular use. This is sloppy both for a journalist and especially for an acclaimed professor of Buddhism and so I ...

Destroying Tibetan Buddhism in Order to Save It? By Barbara O'Brien I have hesitated to weigh in on the Shugden controversy because I practice Zen Buddhism, and the Shugden controversy involves aspects of Tibetan Buddhism that are mystifying even to other Buddhists. But the continuing demonstrations against His Holiness the Dalai Lama need to be explained, so I will do the best I can. Dorje Shugden is an iconic character from Tibetan mythology. Much of Tibetan iconography features deities and heavenly beings representing the dharma or an energy or function of enlightenment, such as compassion. In tantric Buddhist practice (which is not limited to Tibetan Buddhism), meditation, chants, and other practices that focus on these iconic characters cause the energy or function they represent to arise in the practitioner and become manifest. Thus, these beings are best understood as archetypes. The Tibetan Distinction Tibetan Buddhism, with its elaborate schema of who is a consort, reincarnation or wrathful manif ...
His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Advice Concerning Dolgyal (Shugden) Following long and careful investigations, His Holiness the Dalai Lama strongly discourages Tibetan Buddhists from propitiating the fierce spirit known as Dolgyal (Shugden). Although he once practised Dolgyal propitiation himself, His Holiness renounced the practice in 1975 after discovering the profound historical, social and religious problems associated with it. He did so with the full knowledge and support of his junior tutor, the late Kyabje Trichang Rinpoche through whom His Holiness first became associated with the practice. Even within the Geluk and Sakya schools - the Tibetan Buddhist traditions to which majority of Dolgyal practitioners belong - the propitiation of this spirit has been controversial throughout its history. Historical investigation reveals that Dolgyal practice, which has strong sectarian overtones, has a history of contributing to a climate of sectarian disharmony in various parts of Tibet, and between various Tib ...

via Kadam Bridget Heyes Today in Livorno in Italy the Dalai Lama is giving some talks. On the website for these events he talks about how we are all part of one human family and how deep down we are all the same. But this hypocrite denies Buddhists praying to Dorje Shugden membership of this human family by discriminating against them and not allowing them into his talks. Incredibly he uses the reason that if Shugden people are allowed in this would harm the student-teacher relationship which is so sacred in Buddhism. He neglects to mention that he himself is the world's most famous destroyer of this relationship...he himself rejected his own teachers a long time ago thus ensuring that he has no lineage blessings and has no qualification as a Buddhist teacher himself. Surely he is the greatest liar and cheat of modern times. How sadly those listeners to his talks are being tricked and deceived by this utterly false Dalai Lama.
Totally agree, all that needs to happen is for the Dalai Lama to lift the ban on Dorje Shugden worship. It is that simple!

If this were not so tragic, it would be hilarious. If it were in a movie, you would never believe it but this a "different administration". If you thought President Obama’s release of five top Taliban commanders in exchange for POW Bowe Bergdahl was bad, wait until you see what his Gitmo parole board plans. Desperate to empty the Guantanamo Bay prison by the end of his term, Obama quietly is giving “get out of jail free” cards for the flimsiest of excuses. One al Qaeda suspect captured in Afghanistan is considered reformed because he took up yoga and read a biography of the Dalai Lama. Another is eligible for release because of his “positive attitude.” And one longtime detainee, a former bodyguard for Osama bin Laden, is now harmless because he’s going to start a “milk and honey farm.” The Periodic Review Board already helped clear 78 of the remaining 149 prisoners for release, documents show, and has scheduled more hearings for this summer. The basic key to improve relationships with China is to drive out Tibetan refugees from India. It is my strong personal belief that Tibetans are actually a thaw in relationships between India and China. They eat up our economy, earn money from us and yet they are not faithful to India. Can we really afford the lavish expenditure on government in exile of Dalai Lama? It is high time when we take a decision that Tibet is an internal part of China and we have nothing to do with it.

“We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.” . ― 14th Dalai Lama
This post is so great and hit a few notes with me; Here are a few things I believe many of us could forgive ourselves for, things we should start working on in order to achieve inner peace and happiness. 1. Forgive yourself for not accepting yourself completely You and I both know that there are many people out there who aren’t really happy with who they are and what they are, who always criticize themselves and always compare themselves with others. We will never be happy if we continue living our lives this way, and before we can even consider changing the way we think and the way we perceive ourselves, we need to learn how to forgive ourselves for all the time we spent ignoring our own beauty and our own greatness. 2. Forgive yourself for constantly seeking approval in all the wrong places It’s never too late to start seeking for approval in the right place, it’s never too late to start getting approval from the right person, which is YOU! All the approval you will ever need is your own approval ...

A quote by Dalai Lama: "When you Talk, you are only Repeating what you Already Know... But if you Listen, you may Learn something New." G⭕⭕D 〽⭕➰N❗NG
Tārā has many stories told which explain her origin as a bodhisattva. One in particular has a lot of resonance for women interested in Buddhism and quite likely for those delving into early 21st-century feminism. In this tale there is a young princess who lives in a different world system, millions of years in the past. Her name is Yeshe Dawa, which means "Moon of Primordial Awareness". For quite a number of aeons she makes offerings to the Buddha of that world system, whose name was Tonyo Drupa. She receives special instruction from him concerning bodhicitta—the heart-mind of a bodhisattva. After doing this, some monks approach her and suggest that because of her level of attainment she should next pray to be reborn as a male to progress further. At this point she lets the monks know in no uncertain terms that from the point of view of Enlightenment it is only "weak minded worldlings" who see gender as a barrier to attaining enlightenment. She sadly notes there have been few who wish to work for the ...
"The purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticize others. How much am I doing about my anger, attachment, hatred, pride and jealousy? These are the things we must check in our daily lives." ~The Dalai Lama ~
Sometimes it takes a foreign eye to see exactly what you have. The following is a true story: I come from a totally secular Israeli home. By secular I mean atheist. We held no religious beliefs at all, and no Jewish traditions and practices were kept. Yom Kippur was ignored, and I didn't even celebrate my bar mitzvah. When I was 16 I began to search for some kind of meaning to life, although at the time I didn't call it that since I didn't realize what I was doing. I liked rebels and I started hanging out with all kinds of different people. I dressed and acted like a kind of hippie, and caused no end of embarrassment to my parents. I didn't believe in anything. I roamed around the country with all the strange characters who were my friends. I could fill a book with my adventures from then. At the age of 21, I packed my bags and set off for India to look for truth. In my quest for meaning, there was no commune or ashram that I did not visit. I got to know many gurus personally. Only someone who has spent t ...

When my father died it was such an uplifting experience. This may sound strange, as most people want to be angry or grieve at the death of a family member. I felt none of this and I had a wonderfully close relationship with my father. I owe a big part of my feelings to HH Dalai Lama. His presence alone imparts great kindness, clarity, and insight and I found myself fortunate enough to be in his company with the turning of this event. HHDL knows exactly how to reach out and comfort with a touch, a word, and laughter. At the time, watching his Tibetan monks make an elaborate sand mandala helped demonstrate the impermanence of this life. According to the monks who create it, the Kalachakra Sand Mandala, also known as the "Wheel of Time," imparts peace and healing to all beings and to the planet. Remarkable not only for its profound beauty but also for the intricate process of its construction—a delicate sifting of colored sands into elaborate patterns and symbols rich in meaning—the mandala serves as ...
On this Whitsun, Elderberries café prepared a meal for the Zen Center and a Tibetan Prince who was welcomed for a conversation. Our neighbor Michael Konig, who is housing our honeybees and collaborating with us on a Block by Block urban gardening initiative, prepared a Vista Gardenia Collard Green that was so delicious we are hoping he will create this dish on the weekends for us:) Daniel was asked by our friend Max to say a few words about the food and our collaboration and Daniel was so touched by how much they appreciated and loved what we have prepared for their day. And this day was a dream for Daniel as he had been asking to create healing meals from the first moment of our consideration of becoming co workers here in Los Angeles. Our co worker Natasha said 'Dottie it is happening, we are doing it' and yes it is true, we are really beginning to meet those who also have a common purpose towards cultivating the conditions for a more humane existence in connection with spirit and matter and the trans ...

14th Dalai Lama says .. Tibetans have to think very carefully on protesting in exile .. more the Tibetans protest in exile more the situation gets worse for Tibetans in Tibet .
As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery.. We have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness. M My Friends! - I had to print the article below. I ask you to place any partisan feelings aside for our president or party affiliation, and as CONCERNED AMERICANS, parents, grandparents please read the article. Check it for accuracy and ask yourself, what is going on in OUR America??? As a former federal inmate, I can personally attest to the ABSOLUTE DIFFICULTY any inmate, even those convicted of minor crimes, has in making parole. I read this article and it makes me sick... Terrorists who HATE America and have vowed to destroy us are being set free. Our own president admitted there is no guarantee they will NOT go back to their terrorists ways. Of course they will. They hate us. And after coming out of prison, bitter and angry, they will hate us even more. Obama supporters will criticize me for saying this because for them, it's "Obama right or wrong!" It appears nothing can disengage that loyalty to him, even at the expense of the future of our nation and the lives of its people - our soldiers, our c ...

Peace for the Middle East, and particularly between Israelis and Palestinians, who struggle to find the road of agreement, that they may willingly and courageously resume negotiations to end a conflict that has lasted all too long.  – Pope Francis in his Urbi et Orbi address.   So may the outward shows be least themselves: The world is still deceived with ornament. In law, what plea so tainted and corrupt, But, being seasoned with a gracious voice, Obscures the show of evil? In religion, What damned error, but some sober brow Will bless it and approve it with a text, Hiding the grossness with fair ornament? There is no vice so simple but assumes Some mark of virtue on his outward parts – Bassanio, The Merchant of Venice.   Pope Francis had a golden opportunity on his trip to Palestine – and missed it. Millions of his own flock and millions of other people who don’t know the truth about Palestine would have taken note if Pope Francis had to speak and let the truth out. US asks China for "Unconditional Talks" with Dalai Lama" -- News just now. China Foreign Minister Wang Yi is coming to Delhi just now. He will definitely have talks with Sushma Swaraj. What should Sushma talk about? The border question (both Ladakh & Arunachal)? The islamics killing 40 Haan Chinese with swords at Kunming railway station in Yunan province which is 100% Haan? (This is China's 26/11). Similar killing of Haan Chinese by islamics in various places in China's Xinjiang province? islamic Pakistan has a border with Xinjiang province of China--are they providing support? We are also suffering the same problem. The Haan Chinese follow Ta0-Hindu-Buddhist religion=same as us. 0ur gods are same. Bajrang Bali (Hanuman) is called Soon Mu Khong in Chinese. He is a Chinese god=same as us. CAN WE FORGE A COMMON RELiGiOUS ALLiANCE against a common enemy? Should Shushma talk about this?

French President Francois Hollande, who is in China to meet his counterpart Xi Xingping, has said his talks touched upon Beijing’s human rights record. Nearly 100 Tibetan monks have set themselves on fire since 2009, after calling for religious freedom and the return of their exiled leader the Dalai Lama. Hollande said the recent self-immolations “created some legitimate emotion,” adding: “Regarding human rights and democratic principles, they are both part of the dialogue that we are having. It should not be seen as an obligation, we should simply put this issue as it should be: as part of frank and respectful political dialogue.” Hollande is travelling with a delegation representing dozens of French businesses on a mission to boost trade amid worsening economic troubles. He is therefore taking a sizeable risk by speaking of Tibet or the country’s human rights record and must tread carefully. Chinese officials have shunned high-level meetings with their British counterparts since Prime Minist ...
"All beings want to live undisturbed in peace and happiness. Therefore, the concept of human rights is universal. It should apply to everyone who experiences pain or pleasure. "Shanti / Inner Peace" - the definition. From Wikipedia Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being "at peace" is considered by many to be healthy (homeostasis) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious. Peace of mind is generally associated with bliss and happiness. Peace of mind, serenity, and calmness are descriptions of a disposition free from the effects of stress. In some cultures, inner peace is considered a state of consciousness or enlightenment that may be cultivated by various forms of training, such as prayer, meditation, T'ai Chi Ch'uan or yoga, for example. Many spiritual practices refer to this peace as an experience of knowing oneself. Finding inner peace is often associated with traditions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, emphasizes the importance of inner peace in the world: "The question of real, las ...

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States, most likely in September, but his first foreign trip will be a lot closer to home - to the tiny Himalayan state of Bhutan.Rather than Washington, Beijing or Tokyo, the 63-year-old premier will first visit Bhutan - a landlocked kingdom sandwiched between India and Chinese Tibet that has a population of less than 1 million. PERFECT DECISION- Bhutan maybe a small Kingdom but strategically a VERY IMPORTANT place. The history of Humankind has been a HISTORY OF WAR and Buffer states between two powerful nations have played a CRUCIAL ROLE in winning or losing the war. Nehru, in his quest to become a WORLD LEADER, totally neglected to STRENGTHEN our own borders first. We paid a heavy price for it. We lost a big chunk of Kashmir within a year of independence in 1948.In 1951, we lost our hold in Tibet and since then the Dalai Lama stays here with thousands other refugees, again in 1962, we lost a large part of Ladakh, we could not consolidate our victory ov ...

This morning, Radio 4, 'Saturday Live', Jeremy Paxman was interviewed. Two statements, both amazing. First, of the 16,000 British villages in 1918, only 40 received back all the young men they had sent off to the war. Secondly, when asked who, as a group, had been the most impressive to interview, he said that 'surprisingly' it had been religious people 'because they had thought about things most.' Most impressive of all? 'Either Cardinal Hulme or the Dalai Lama' - oddly (or perhaps not) both monks.

Priyanka asks airport exemptions to be removed? According to a report in in NDTV, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has written a letter asking for the removal of special exemptions in Indian airports for her and her family. As per NDTV, the letter stated - "Since the government is now reportedly considering the removal of his name, I would like to inform you that I do not feel it will be correct for my children and me to avail of the facility of exemption of these checks while entering or exiting the airport when we are all traveling together. Request you to ensure that when we are entering or exiting boarding gates there is no disturbance to passengers... Request security detail to behave in a manner that is discreet and strictly unobtrusive,". Looking back over my life I see that the people I truly value are those whose primary concern and goal in life was not that of amassing a fortune. Somehow they have distinguished themselves and will go down in history for the contributions that came from their central and driving wish to bring about knowledge or change which would benefit mankind without ever having a thought of hanging a price tag on it. Those are notables in the various fields. Vincent Van Gough, George Washington Carver, Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, and many others. Their presence on this planet, the contributions they have made, their attitudes toward self, and their general natures should serve as positive examples of what we were intended to be if we merely rejected the deleterious influences of greed.

MY SWEET FRIEND HAS DIED Dr. Alicia Ghiragossian, world renown Armenian poet and 2 time candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature, has passed from this life into the freedom beyond. I met 'Poet Alicia' as she was affectionately known, about 10 years ago. She had read and gave the most wonderful endorsement to my book, 'Powerful Attitudes.' I visited her in her 'Armenian Castle' in Glendale, California shortly after we met. She had recently received word to attend a ceremony for the Nobel Prize. For the second time, she had been nominated for the prestigious award. She had over 60 published works and had several forwards written by the Dalai Lama who recognized her amazing work for world peace. When I was there, we celebrated her recent nomination and her birthday in July of 2004. She was known as the official laureate of Armenia. You'll sometimes walk alone... In Shigatse, the second city of Tibet, stands the Tashilumpo Monastery. First built in 1447, the Tashilumpo Monastery is one of the four monasteries of the Gelug (Yellow Hat) Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, the second highest ranking lineage in the Gelugpa tibetan buddhist hierarchy, after the Dalai Lama. Located on a hill in the center of the city, the full name of the monastery in Tibetan means "all fortune and happiness gathered here" or "heap of glory". The Tashilumpo monastery remains popular among the tibetans, as they carry on coming here on pilgrimage. It houses the tombs of Panchen Lamas, beautiful chortens decorated with gold and precious stones, as well as a Maitreya Bouddha statue 26 meters high. Tashilhumpo in its prime had over 4,000 monks and had four Tantric colleges each with its own Abbot. In 1960, however, the monastery was disbanded by the Chinese army whilst the Panchen Lama was absent, although less dama ...

"In school you get the lesson and then take the test... In life you take the test and then get the lesson." The problems we face in life invite us to go inside to recognize a bigger picture of ourselves and of life. This bigger picture brings meaning to what is unfolding. When we feel trapped in a problem, we must try to shift our perspective and ask, "What am I being invited to learn from this situation?" The answer will always revolve around a quality or value, like gratitude, freedom, compassion, love, will, humour or acceptance. The answer will also always promote union rather than separation. As soon as we find the meaning in our challenge, our resistance to it melts away. Often, awareness of the lesson is all that is needed to resolve the problem. If not, the awareness brings us courage and ways to work through it. "The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life." - Dalai Lama

Toelichting bij de protesten die zondag bij Ahoy klonken Ever since 1997, when, according to detailed Indian police investigations, pseudo- monks who infiltrated to Dharamsala from China murdered the Venerable Lobsang Gyatso, a noted lama close to the Dalai Lama, and his two young disciples, the cult of the Dolgyal-Shugden spirit has been on the attack. The well-evidenced culprits were not tried as they escaped back into Tibet and China, but the cult continued its campaign at the behest of, and with substantial funding from, the United Front department of the People's Republic of China, the agency handling relations with non-Chinese "minority nationalities." The futile effort of the cult backed by the agency seeks to alienate Tibetans from the Dalai Lama, their beloved leader and even to turn world public opinion against the acclaimed Nobel Laureate and Gandhi heir. The final aim is to disrupt the Dalai Lama's fifty-year-long nonviolent "truth and justice" campaign, to free the six million Tibetan people ...

In 1987 in Washington DC, the Dalai Lama proposed the establishment of a Zone of Peace on the Tibetan plateau. It was the first point of his Five-Point Peace Plan for Tibet. He said: I propose that the whole of Tibet, including the eastern provinces of Kham and Amdo, be transformed into a zone of 'Ahimsa', a Hindi term used to mean a state of peace and non-violence.
. In the Western world we all know about the Borgia pope or Pope Alexander 6, and how he had mistresses and his two legendary children Lucrezia and Cesare Borgia, he has two TV shows depicting his absurd life. The Dalai Lamas also have one named Tsangyang Gyatso the 6th Dalai Lama. They didn’t find Tsangyang Gyatso until he was 15-years-old because of strange circumstances. Usually they would find a reincarnated person before they were five, and raise them completely in the monastery. Tsangyang Gyatso was promoted to Dalai Lama but never became a monk, he would instead get drunk, sing, write poetry and make love to women in town. This is pretty bad, considering a Buddhist monk is not even allowed to touch a woman.

No Result in Tibet as Arab Spring As we know, the Arab Spring has spread all over the world. Some authorities in Arab have faced universal condemnation, while some Arab leaders were overthrown after the self-immolation of Mohamed bouazizi. In Tibet from 2009 till now 130 Tibetans in Tibet has self-immolated for the return of H.H Dalai Lama and freedom of Tibet but their aspirations are yet to be fulfilled. I think we should not compare the Arab Spring with Tibetan self-immolation protest against the Chinese Government. The Arab countries are independent. Their people have the right to free speech. They can write freely on politics. They are free to demonstrate. There is no media censorship. Foreign journalists are allowed to report and broadcast from inside the Arab countries. In fact, even the UN delegations can visit these countries and investigate. In Tibet there is no right to free speech. Tibetan can’t write on politics. Foreign journalists are not allowed to visit and report from inside Tibet. UN ...
His Holiness the Dalai Lama talks about the benefits of a calm mind during his teachings in Dharamsala, India, on September 8th, 2010. Tawang Monastery in Arunachal Pradesh is the largest monastery in India. It was founded near the small town of the same name in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh state of India by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1680-1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama...
"Christ does not care what other people say about Him. He does not care about what you hear other people say about Christ. Some say Jesus Christ does not exist. Others say He lived, died but did not resurrect. Others say he was John the Baptist risen from the dead, others a Prophet of the likes of-Elijah and Jeremiah or one of the Old Testament prophets, yet others say He was good and wise teacher, on same level as the Dalai Lama or Ghandi. But Jesus does not care a hoot what anybody thinks. He still comes to each and every person with the same question. . . "Who do YOU say that I am?" The one who can answer that question right has found GRACE in the sight of God. Listen to Apostle Peter’s answer, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Excerpt from the Elder- James Nyahuye Makes me think of what the Hebrew writer said, 4:6 Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter [His Rest], and they to whom it was first preached [did not enter His Rest] because of UNBELIEF. "Who do YOU say that I ...
THE INDIAN ELECTIONS - NEW YORK TIMES It is truly the greatest show on Earth, an ode to a diverse & democratic ethos, where 700 million+ of humanity vote, providing their small part in directing their ancient civilization into the future. It is no less impressive when done in a neighborhood which includes de-stabilizing & violent Pakistan, China, and Burma. Its challenges are immense, more so probably than anywhere else, particularly in development & fending off terrorism -- but considering these challenges & its neighbors, it is even more astounding that the most diverse nation on Earth, with hundreds of languages, all religions & cultures, is not only surviving, but thriving. The nation: where Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism & Sikhism were born, which is the second largest Muslim nation on Earth; where Christianity has existed for 2000 years; where the oldest Jewish synagogues & Jewish communities have resided since the Romans burnt their 2nd temple; where the Dalai Lama & the Tibetan government in exile re ...

A day of deep sadness with the passing of Shaykh Nazim al Haqqani of Cyprus. An undeniable giant of our times, he revolutionized the Naqshbandi spiritual order, with hundreds of thousands taking allegiance at his hand. An erudite scholar, loving teacher, & towering mystic, he was a Yoda to young Jedis everywhere. He was not only loved, revered and respected by every noteworthy Muslim scholar across the globe, but also by stately people, including Prince Charles, Pope Benedict and the Dalai Lama. The beacon of light that he was has been extinguished from this world, but he will burn on in our hearts forever.

HH Dalai Lama banned from entering the Norwegian parliamentary hall for the 2nd time. Ban signed by former leader of the Tibet committee.
Norway is kowtowing to China' The Oslo lawyer who led the defence of far-right terrorist Anders Breivik has slammed Norway's government for its 'capitulation' to China over the Dalai Lama. 'No one from government will meet Dalai Lama' "The moment it becomes difficult to stand up for human rights, you throw away your principles and instead kow-tow towards China," Geir Lippestad, who now chairs the left-wing think tank Agenda, told Norway's VG Newspaper. "My attitude is that it is a capitulation to China not to meet a human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner when he comes to Norway." The Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, is in Norway on 7 and 8 May to celebrate the 25th anniversary his Nobel Peace Prize award. However, Norway's government on Friday confirmed that no member of the government would meet him during his trip for fear of upsetting the delicate diplomacy over repairing the country's relationship with China.

People should stop saying "push mo yan". Seriously, It's like you're saying to yourself that you pretty much suck in conversations. Don't get me started on similar conversation killers like 'k' and the inarticulate 'i know, right?' line. Please, if you want people to take you seriously, at least have the decency to sound polite - like you're trying to strike a conversation to Russell Brand or asking Dalai Lama for some spiritual intervention; which I think, would take another 10 reincarnated 'Dalais' for you to get the chance. Whatever happened to good manners and right conduct? Push mo yan? Push kita sa kanal.

What surprises me, Madiba, mahatma Ghandi, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Dalai Lama and the Pope! Is somehow faulty human thinking! Men and women alike sacrifice their health in order to make money. After making some money, then they sacrifice the same money to recuperate their health! And then men and women become so anxious about the future that they do not enjoy the present; the result being that they do not live in the present or the future; they live as if they are never going to die and then they die having never really lived! Lol! Please let us all live this life to the fullest before leaving this life! Aspire to inspire before you expire! Be blessed and stay blessed! Happy Sunday folks!

The very purpose of our life is happiness, which is sustained by hope. We have no guarantee about the future, but we exist in the hope of something better. Hope means keeping going, thinking, ‘I can do this.’ It brings inner strength, self-confidence, the ability to do what you do honestly, truthfully and transparently. Dalai Lama
