Legendary Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has said that Cristiano Ronaldo deserved to win the 2014 Ballon d’Or.
As Wayne Rooney celebrates a decade with the club, the striker claims that Roy Keane was the best passer he played with over this successful period. Rooney has been fortunate to play in the same Manchester United team as some of the greats of the modern era, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes among them, yet it was his understanding with Keane that he deemed most fruitful. “With Roy, I knew he was a great footballer but until I played with him didn’t realise how great. His passing was probably the best I’ve played with, in terms of getting it in to the forwards’ feet. “I had associated him with someone who got round the pitch, making tackles, but it was his passing that blew me away.” [Source: The Times]
3 best Premier League footballers of all time in order, hard to admit it but:. Thierry Henry. Paul Scholes. Cristiano Ronaldo.
Time with Wayne Rooney today. On England, the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo and those comments from Paul Scholes
Rio: The best I played with Rio Ferdinand, who has ended his illustrious Manchester United career, talks about the best players he played alongside during his 12 years at the club... Paul Scholes was a genius. When we got back into training after our summer holidays, it took most players a couple of weeks to get their touch back and realise where they were on the pitch. Scholesy just got straight back into the groove, kicking the ball exactly where he wanted it. He'd pick people out 40 or 50 yards away and hit them with a long ball nine times out of 10. He was ridiculous and was always one of the best, if not the best, player in training every day. He was probably the complete footballer. Cristiano Ronaldo was just a joke. If you were to ask a computer to generate the prototype for a player, it’d be him. He’s physically the perfect specimen – quick, strong, the right build, and he had a work ethic. People don’t realise he didn’t just become the best player in the world through talent alone. When ...

David Moyse: When you think of Manchester United you think of Champions, you think of past players like: Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, George Best, Bryan Robson, Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Andy Cole, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo!!! You need players who are worthy of wearing the Manchester United shirt not the likes of: Anderson, Nani,Young, Welbeck, Cleverley, Valencia and Kagawa!!! Get rid and get buying in January!
“Paul Scholes is the best player I’ve played with and he helped me a lot when I was young. He’s amazing.” Cristiano Ronaldo.
Over the course of the last few years, and especially when Carlos Queiroz was Sir Alex’s assistant, Ferguson has been tinkering with several tactical systems, mainly 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 and 4-3-3. All of them have been proven to be useful under certain circumstances, but the most fruitful system for Manchester United still is the British standard 4-4-2, including two wide players. Throughout the winning Premier League 2006/07 season, United played the most exciting football that we’ve witnessed for a decade. With Edwin Van Der Sar in goal, and a solid defense made of Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidić, Patrice Evra, the midfielders Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were able of provide with plenty of fine passes and crosses to Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha, who consolidated a terrific attacking partnership. The likes of Ronaldo (by then plying his trade as a pure winger) and Giggs turned out to be crucial in that successful season. Both tormented opponent defenses by ru ...
Which potential United target can fill the boots Paul Scholes left behind? This is still the big unanswered question for many fans - take a look at the potential candidates to add to Moyes' midfield Who gets your vote to fill the gap in Midfield for United that Paul Scholes has now left behind? Players such as Everton's Belgian master Marouane Fellaini and Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder have long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford. Recently Barcelona ace Cesc Fabregas and Feyenorrd's Kevin Strootman have joined the mix for a potential place in the United midfield. And of course there is Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite United players player of the season Carrick, the youth of Tom Cleverley, pace of Shinji Kagawa and plenty of choice on the wing, it is thought the midfield is still short of a creative midfielder. Marouane Fellaini Age: 25 Born: Etterbeek, Belgium Current club: Everton Previous club: Standard Liege Scores goals for Everton, is good in the air and tall. Would add another dimension t ...
It is all change at Old Trafford. Manchester United will begin next season without the services of Paul Scholes, arguably the finest British footballer of his generation, and Sir Alex Ferguson, inarguably the finest manager. Many fans are not old enough to recall a time before Ferguson, and David Moyes will have his work cut out if he wishes to emulate the near-constant level of success seen under his predecessor. With Manchester City and Chelsea likely to pose a far greater threat under new new managers, reinforcements will be essential for United. Although Ferguson has experimented with Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney in the middle of the pitch, a bona-fide central midfielder is still the No. 1 priority. Particularly given it seems increasingly likely that Rooney will not be around for much longer. United have forward men of genuine quality, a fine goalkeeper and, with the exception of left-back, real strength in depth at the back. Assuming the money is unavailable to lure Cristiano Ronaldo or recruit Garet ...
Ain't no fan of Man Utd or Sir Alex, but got to give credit where credit is due. So, here's wot I think is his best starting XI over the past two and a half decades. Hard to beat this team, even after I've left out some other really good players. (GK) Peter Schmeichel (LB) Denis Irwin (CB) Jaap Stam (CB) Rio Ferdinand (RB) Gary Neville (LW) Ryan Giggs (CM) Paul Scholes (CM) Roy Keane (RW) Cristiano Ronaldo (FW) Ruud Van Nistelrooy (FW) Eric Cantona

"I missed my penalty and it felt like the worst day of my life. Now it's the happiest day of my life." Cristiano Ronaldo Forty years after their first European Cup triumph, half a century on from the Munich air crash and on the night of Ryan Giggs's club-record 759th appearance, Manchester United FC's evening, as they contested the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League final, was so nearly spoiled. After an epic domestic campaign which saw United sneak out on top of perennial Premier League rivals Chelsea FC, this first all-English showpiece delivered its own brand of engaging encounter at a rain-soaked Luzhniki Stadium.United were first to show their hand 26 minutes in, Cristiano Ronaldo dropping off Michael Essien and leaping majestically to head Wes Brown's cross low into the corner for his 42nd club goal of the season.Buoyed by the effervescent Owen Hargreaves and calmed by the composed Paul Scholes, United's goal was first threatened when Rio Ferdinand inadvertently headed that way. Edwin Van Der Sar to the r ...
OUR LEGENDS ALL HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN THEIR HEART FOR Manchester United “I am not a man of many words but I can honestly say that playing football is all I have ever wanted to do and to have had such a long and successful career at Manchester United has been a real honour.” - Paul Scholes “I’ve always said I wouldn’t want to play for another English club… I’m honoured by the offers I had from the Premiership teams, but I didn’t want to play there unless it was Manchester United.” - David Beckham “I spent six years at United and I owe them everything that I am today. I made history at United and won many trophies. It was a pleasure to play at Old Trafford.” - Cristiano Ronaldo “I signed a contract at 16 which promised me £20.75 a week, so I didn’t come into this for money. I came here because I loved playing football and I loved United.” - Gary Neville “When I think football, I think Manchester United. I still support United and always will. I will die with them in my heart ...

Cristiano Ronaldo telling a story about ex team mate Paul Scholes. Class this!
Got this off EuroSport. Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected claims that Paul Scholes has decided to retire at the end of the season. It was reported on Friday morning that 38-year-old midfielder Scholes has told friends he will be quitting the game for a second time next summer. However Ferguson believes the former England international, who was persuaded to come out of a short-lived retirement at the start of the year, would have let him know of any such plans. Ferguson said: "I would be surprised if Paul had spoken to someone without speaking to me - and he hasn't - so we can dismiss that." There have also been suggestions this could be 39-year-old Ryan Giggs' final season in the game, and that Rio Ferdinand's United future is uncertain. Yet Ferguson said: "Ryan could play for another year or two. Rio has been terrific. The speculation comes from our policy of only giving older players one-year contracts." Ferguson was happy to joke about the prospect of facing Cristiano Ronaldo in the Ch ...

I want that Sir Alex can read this message to know how 99% of Manchester United fans feel now. In 2009, we sold Cristiano Ronaldo by 94 Milion Euro but we had not bought any Worldclass player to replace him. The result was that From that season we got just a "carling Cup" and 2 community Shield and 1 English Premier League. 2OO9/2O1O was a very bad season for us!! 2O1O/2O11 was special in the EPL , but we were bad in the Final of the UCL. This year was the deception for all United Fans !! we made a very bad season from 2OO5.Another Time we didn't bounght a worldClass players , and especially in the miedfield. So that we can't replace Paul Scholes. Now it's Time to raise Again.. and buy new players to fight in the EPL and in the UEFA CL because many teams in England & Europe are more strong than the last years. All Manchester United Fans want to see brillant names at Old Trafford, Like Shingi Kagawa, Eden Hazard, Gerrard Piqué, Modiric...and the List is long. Please, please and PLease Sir Alex respect Uni ...
