The only Kentucky county to be abolished Posted by Dave Tabler | February 8, 2013 In early 1904, with the growth of the western end of Carter County, KY, residents there sought to form a new county. They broke away, along with some citizens of Rowan and Elliott counties, to form Beckham County, named for then-Governor John CW Beckham, who signed the legislative act on February 9. GC Brooks, appointed County Judge, established formal offices, with the county seat in Olive Hill. It wasn’t long, though, before legal questions over the formation led to the county being dissolved by state action. Eighty days long, to be exact. On April 29, 1904, the Court of Appeals ruled that the new county failed to meet constitutional standards of size and population. Beckham is the only county in Kentucky to be abolished. INVALID, THE COURT OF APPEALS DECIDES, THE ACT CREATING BECKHAM COUNTY VIOLATES THE CONSTITUTION Mt Sterling [KY] Advocate May 11, 1904 Wednesday “The legislative act creating the county of Beckham wa ...
Every since John Klaus was elected Pct. 3 County Commissioner he has yet to do his job on West McDonald Lane. Granted there are only three or four residents on this part of the road, but to totally ignore the bar ditches, grass and trees overgrowing the road, is totally a dereliction of duty. Since the "bar" or drainage ditches along the side of the road have nearly filled in, there is no drainage and when during some heavy rains I have lost my driveway twice since the water flows over the road and washes out my drive. Once last year the county mowed the sides of the road but set the mower so high you could not tell it had been mowed after a week. The operators also run over the phone pedestals and road signs when they mow. Must have some real nitwits working for him.probably relatives. I have sent Klaus emails with photos and never got a response. I suspect he doesn't know how to operate a computer. I contacted the County Judge, but really folks this person should check on the roads in his district ...

Press conference in Vilonia this morning. David Hogue spoke with the news media. Search and Rescue is underway. Officials are asking all civilian volunteers not to come to the area at this time. They say there will be a time when they will be needed, but at this time the professionals are on scene conducting search and rescue efforts. Anyone wanting to enter the area will be asked for ID and a valid reason for being there. He confirmed there are 10 known deaths in Faulkner County at this time. He remains hopeful this will be all, but says he is also being realistic, and the number could rise. County Judge's office's are coordinating the efforts. Area Sheriff's and deputies, search dogs, Fire Department personnel, Entergy and National Guard personnel are some of the agencies on scene doing searches. Hogue reported at least 60 homes in Mayflower destroyed or damaged and many more than that in Vilonia. Donations are being accepted at some area churches and schools. Governor Beebe has declared Faulkner, White ...

I spoke with a supervisor at the highway department office in Russellville and obtained the specs for posting signs on highway right of way. I will have to send a letter requesting a permit, make a map and supply measurements as to where exactly the sign is to be located. This way, we don't look one day and the signs have been taken away. I also spoke with the County Judge and was told that the County Road Department would instal any crime watch signs that needed to go on county roads and would install on city streets as long as the mayor and city counsel approved doing so. Now, we wait for the signs and material to appear. If anyone has any comments or questions, please feel free to post them to the page or even send me a private message. I only ask that if you post to this page, please keep it within the subject of crime watch. No rabbit hunting stories or politics please. LOL
As Executive Director of the Livingston-Polk County Chamber of Commerce, local business owner and long-time resident, I know what it takes to do business in Polk County. As County Judge, I would aggressively promote Polk County at the State and Federal level to secure funding for infrastructure, education, and tourism. I would focus on partnership opportunities with other entities such DETCOG, the City and Port of Houston, and the surrounding Counties. The success we have had at the Chamber is largely due to the partnerships and working relationships that we developed over the last few years. As a mother, teacher and business woman, I understand the importance of education. The creation of the new Commerce/College Center in Livingston is one of the accomplishments I am most proud to be associated with. When children don’t get a good education, it directly impacts our community through low wages, poor training, and job performance. Truancy issues should be managed by the school district and precinct wher ...

I would like to congratulate Allison Harbison on her win as County Judge, beginning January 1, 2015. The re-count produced additional ballots, which placed Allison in the lead by 3 votes. When Allison takes office in January, the people of Shelby County can be assured that the dedication Allison has, as County Clerk will continue into her position as County Judge. In 2009, Judge Tomlin asked me to come see him. It was at that time, when Judge Tomlin asked me, if I would consider the position of County Judge. With much prayer and discussion with my wife, God put it upon my heart to seek this position. Not knowing how long my journey, as County Judge would last, I knew I was following Gods direction. While I continue my position as County Judge, thru the end of my term, I will do the job I was called to do. And part of that is to ensure the people of Shelby County that I, Rick Campbell, will continue to pursue opportunities that will benefit all of our county, treat everyone fairly and, strive for what ...

The question presented in this appeal is whether the Madison County Judge/Executive, Treasurer, and Planning and Development Administrative Official violated the Open Records Act in the disposition of Charles W. Riddell’s August 14, 2001 records request. For the reasons that follow, we find that although these officials provided Mr. Riddell with information they deemed responsive to his request, in the form of a letter prepared by Planning and Development Administrative Official Duane S. Curry and dated August 24, 2001, they did not fully discharge their duty under the Open Records Act by affording him access to records confirming the accuracy of the information provided or, alternatively, advancing any argument in support of the decision to deny him access to these records.

I posted this last night on Highland Lakes Government but it bears repeating here. Congratulations to Evan Stubbs, Linda Miller Bayless, Donna Holland Wilcox, plus James Oakley and George Russell (runoff). Many other fine folks also won but this is the hotly contested slate that won across the board. These wins and especially Evan's 65-35 win sends a clear message to the Mills/Rogers/Gallaher group and the others acting in concert with them (you know who you are) that you and your tactics are not welcome in these counties. A good political fight is fine but the politics of personal destruction and outright lying will not be tolerated. If you share this thought then share this message. My name is Gil Jones and I approved this political ranting. :-) (Since posting this last night I learned that Todd Gallaher who was running for County Judge in Brazoria lost big time.}

Lake Highlands serial rapist sentenced to 85 years in prison DALLAS — A Dallas County judge sentenced the man convicted of three 2013 rapes in Lake Highlands to 85 years in prison Friday for the assaults. Cesar Benitez took the stand during his sentencing, responding to questions and talking for about 40 minutes. He wore headphones and used a translator so he could hear everything that was said translated into Spanish. He blamed the devil and steroids for his actions. "I don’t have justification, but there are moments when evil seizes one," a court translator read a statement from Benitez to the court. "The evil came upon me. I just don’t know the answer… I did a big error, and I know." Sentencing lasted just seven hours. It began with victims and witnesses taking the stand. Victims, who were not named, explained how their lives were forever changed by the attacks. Cesar Benitez was arrested after an anonymous tip and pleaded guilty to the attacks, which occurred in February and March 2013. He adm ...

COMMUNITY MEETING (BAYLISS/AUGSBURG). Candidates have been invited to supper with the folks at the Bayliss center on HWY 333, 6 p.m. this Saturday. I added it to my schedule and hope to see many olds and new friends. Contact Russ Warhurst at Nebo2 for more information. Last night, in Clinton, I was privileged to participate in a large community "helping" activity. My guess is that more than 120 people came out to learn and discuss long term recovery projects in Van Buren County. Formed as a county aid following the massive tornado and ice storms of the past six years, a local committee was hosted at Friendship Baptist Church. The ministerial alliance is doing fine work in rebuilding/rehabilitating damaged and destroyed homes and ministering to broken lives. The VB County Judge, several JPs, Sheriff, pastors, helping agents and interested residents enjoyed a chili supper and information session. Additional support is needed--financial and helping hands for over 20 agencies. For more information, conta ...
Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Our State Representative, Drew Springer, called me before Christmas. He is working with our Lt Governor to put new state agency jobs in the rural areas instead of Austin. Drew said: "Sandy, what if I could bring 20 new state agency jobs to Dickens County? Would that be a good start?" As your County Judge, I will work to both protect and promote our rich heritage and agribusiness, as well as new opportunities for economic development.
Think about what has taken place in Bowie County. A sitting County Judge has asked for the Texas Attorney General, Texas Comptroller, and the United States Department of Justice to INVESTIGATE a former county judge, who is running for the same office, for alleged ILLEGAL financial activity while in office. This is the biggest story to hit a long time!

MESSAGE FROM SCOTT COUNTY JUDGE: JAMES FORBES...There are lots of people coming around wanting to do clean-up in our county. If they approach you about cleaning up your brush and trees make sure they give you a price before they start the job. We have had some clean-up crews who are not wanting to give an up-front price; they are wanting to wait until the job is done. The judge is asking that Anyone who wants to do clean-up, to come into the office and register with the County Judge. This means that they will be getting a registry # and the Scott County Judge's Office will take their name and some other info. They will receive a card from the office with a # on it that states: THIS IS NOT A PERMIT FROM THE COUNTY. This is a registry # to VERIFY that they have been to see the judge. These individuals are not employed by the county. This is a private party and the County is not liable for any work being done by these individuals. Putting them on this list and giving them a # will help the County Judge know, ...
bymmb"Now, we've learned that Gilberto Hinojosa, fearing that neither Port Commissioner Martin Arambula nor former Cameron County Chair Sylvia Garza-Perez could actually defeat Carlos Cascos, has sweet-talked current Cameron County Clerk Joe Rivera into running for County Judge. Rivera, employed by Cameron County for over three decades, is thought to have a sufficient war chest to make him a formidable candidate. Many readers may remember our report from a year ago of Rivera coercing his employees to sell raffle tickets to his campaign event at the court house on county time and his expensive self-ordered $2,500 portrait to immortalize himself on the walls of a county satellite judicial building. These and other issues may resurface if Rivera defeats Arambula and Garza-Perez in the primary."
DId you know about the mighty move of God in Penns Grove, read this: The Tabernacle, Penns Grove, NJ In the period of 1915-1917 there was a great influx of men to the area due to the employment needs of the Powder Works in Carneys Point. With the increased population came an increase in public drunkenness. To counter this problem several area ministers decided to join forces and put public law to use – specifically a state law which forbade granting a liquor license within one mile of a Camp Meeting. Led by Rev. Edward Mount of St Paul’s Church and Rev. Fred Peters of the Baptist Church an association was formed and monies were raised to construct a building on E. Harmony St in Penns Grove. The Tabernacle was built in March 1916 and evangelistic meetings were held there. When the April term of court was opened the County Judge was obligated to refuse the issuance of liquor licenses thus rendering Penns Grove a “dry” town eight years before Prohibition was enacted on a national level. The Tabern .. ...

This is most likely my last big oil/gas "vent." My life means more to me than banging my head on a wall. To recap, my County government can't (or won't) control this industry. My County Judge says she can't do anything about the noise levels. This is correct as the way it works here is that issue belongs to the local Sheriff. Also, no County ordinances governing noise levels. The Sheriff can't do any thing, same reason, and they can't cite a business (particularly if it makes $$ on a grand scale). Here is where my complaints have gone, unsuccessfully I might add: 1. County Judge - Sorry, can't help you. (This game goes on for over a year) 2. County Sheriff's Dept. Have done reports for complaints RE: noise - sorry, can't help you. (Also after a year of complaints and two sheriffs) 2. Texas State Rep.s/Senator - Talked to a staffer in the Senator's office. Sorry, can't help you (first contact, followed by e-mail some time later). 3. U. S. Senator - Written response back to me. You guessed i ...
The history of the Midway Cemetery is the history of the Midway community itself. There are several dates of significance to the community. We can date the official beginning of the community back to the summer of 1878 when B. G. Selman and wife Mary A. Selman conveyed an acre tract to the County Judge of Smith County for use as a school. The school was named Midway. The family of Jesse Madison Taylor and his wife, Mary E. Prichard Taylor settled in the area before long. Seemingly, they purchased a farm from W. S. Herndon after 1880 and before 1883. Mr. Herndon was partner in the law firm of Herndon and Robertson in Tyler, and they obtained most of the Don Thomas Quevado Seven League Grant (31,000 acres) in southwestern Smith County prior to the Civil War. The investors spent the next 50 to 60 years selling it off, piece by piece. In 1884, Jesse Russell Taylor, the young son of Jesse and Mary Taylor, died. They chose to bury him on the highest point in a knoll on the northwest corner of their farm. ...
El Paso's County Judge said there could be minor changes to the way employees in domestic partner relationships apply for county health benefits.

If, Hardin County Built a County Government complex for the County Judge and Fiscal Court, County Clerk's Office, County PVA Office, County Sheriff Office, Planning and Development where should it be located Downtown or Ring Road next to HWY 1600 ?
Please attend and watch as our new County Judge, Alan Dodson, conducts his first Quorum Court meeting tonight at...
Interesting…It was noted by the County Judge in Commissioners’ Court this morning that there was a significant decrease (from approximately 425 inmates to 300 inmates) in the jail population due to the transfer of several inmates to Texas Department of Criminal Justice to serve their prison sentences. These are inmates whose cases have been completed for some time but have been in our jail (at a cost to McLennan County) awaiting to be transported by TDC to prison. Wait…I thought the jail overcrowding was solely due to the DA’s unreasonable plea offers? As I stated before, simply not true.

Congratulations to our County Judge Preston Scroggin who was appointed by Governor Mike Beebe to be the newest Director of the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission. A special meeting of the Quorum Court has been called for Jan 31st, and the court will be asked to declare a vacancy. The Quorum Court also has the responsibility of voting to appoint a new County Judge to fill the remainder of Judge Scroggin's term.
From 1-16-2013 exhausted, early start and late finish, but I could not help but reflect today. Twenty four years ago I was hoplessly addicted, on unsupervised probation, lost and blaming everyone and everything for my situation. Isolated in a self imposed prison. Today I had just left a meeting with two people from State Judicial Services, The Chief District Judge, two other District Judges, the County Judge, Chief of Police, UnderSheriff, Assitant District Attorney, Chief Probation Officer, two Probation Supervisors, Public Defender and myself. How does that happen? For me, Only through the grace of God, The Twelve Steps and the love of many others. I am humbled and feeling grateful today.
I attended the "meet and greet" reception for General Mark Welsh last night. I was very pleased at the attendance and unified message in support of the 188th of the elected officials of Sebastian County. 10 of the the 13 JP's attended, all other county elected officials, except for the County Judge who was ill, many of the District, Circuit and Chancery judges attended. Sebastian County elected officials made their presence known and our message was strong. I personally talked with both of Arkansas's Senators, two US House of Representative members, General Welsh and a host of Fort Smith business and civic leaders. Everyone I spoke with understands the importance of the 188th and the jobs that it creates. Thank you General Welsh for coming to our town and I hope your visit brings good news to our area.
From our 2012 year in review: “Jan. 17 — Midway City Council members had what could only be termed a chilly reception when they learned that Woodford County Fiscal Court had chosen, apparently months ago, to halt snow cleanup within Midway’s city limits. During the council’s Tuesday meeting, Mayor Tom Bozarth said he had first heard of that news last week from Fiscal Court Magistrate Larry Craig (Dist. 1), whose district includes Midway. Bozarth then wrote to County Judge-executive John Coyle to ask why and how the county had made that decision. Coyle provided a statement showing the county road department’s costs in Midway for fuel, work time, and road salt, and wants the city to pick up the tab, the mayor said.”

I have found an old highway bridge that was built in 1922 when my dad's oldest brother was County Judge. The placque on it has his name along with other officials of the state and county. I have permission to take it off the old bridge. Hope to possibly get it today or tomorrow. We will have to use a special saw to saw it out but we have that available, now!
It we made an assessment of the disparitiy of numbers between Afro American males incacerated against other cultures the numbers are staggering and steadily rising. The Black church, corporately, has stood idly by "gazing" at our demise. Will not even secure their own tax surplus Grant Funding to assist their communities to nuture economic growth or enrichment. Here in Eiudora Arkansas they have over thirty black churches in a community of less than 3,000 citizens. None of them will use their own tax dollars to assist this community and enjoy tax fee status. Citizen and local County Judge the Honorable Judge Mack Ball Jr orchestrated the new J. Austin White Cultural Center with grant funding and additional fiancial assistence. Their money want touch it. Put me in jail. Only thing booming here is day care centers. C. B. King recently expanded and York Williams built a brand new state of the art building. Wagging their heads and basing whole sermons on the disparities of the black community to utilize "sca ...

Dutch has deep roots in Jefferson County and all of us who live or own property have been blessed by his election. Now you have one last vote, City Treasuer.Greg Gustek has done this job before (12) years and we need him to be a steward of City funds. Get on the phone, call your neighbors, your church members, co-workers, and tell them to vote early. Greg Gustek loves the city of Pine Bluff and will do the best job.

OK, here we go: my ballot choices from Saturday night. Any questions, just holla. President/Vice President: Barack Obama & Joe Biden. U.S. Senate: Bill Nelson. State Attorney: Roderick Vereen (my one write-in for the year). County Judge: Greer Davis Wallace. Retention of Supreme Court justices: YES to all. Retention of Third District Court of Appeals judges: YES to all. Constitutional amendments: a big fat NO to all--every *** one of them. School Board bond issue: YES. County Commission term limits: NO (not when the current crew is exempt). Charter amendments: YES except for the procurement one--don't know enough. Crandon Park referendum: YES. Animal services (non-binding): YES. (Need I spell it out?) Contracts with state sponsors of terrorism: NO. (This commission has enough on its hands without taking on foreign policy as well.)
Could someone please inform me about the Colorado Supreme Court Justice, Nathan B. Coats, all the court of Appeals from Colorado Judges, and the County Judge of Eagle? I don't know the politics or pt of view from any of these Judges. I am looking at the mail in ballot for early voting, and don't know why any of these candidates should retain their office.
Folks... I received two calls from the Express-News this morning asking about the poll figures that show we are winning the Pre-K battle. We feel very comfortable with the our figures from our poll which show a 60-40 lead. We have also been to many community and neighborhood meetings where the overwhelming sentiment has been against the Pre-K tax. But, at many of these same meetings, the mayor's office has not even shown up to explain their own program. Apparently there is concern in the Mayor's office, and also with their ally the Express-News. They cannot believe the polls are correct and they are trying to cast doubt on it. (Like the main stream media and Obama?) They have tried to push Pre-K on us in an "Obamacare style" manner, and it's not working. My response is simple to doubters... if we're wrong, we will look silly; if we are right, the Mayor and County Judge need to start hearing us. Furthermore, Judge Nelson Wolff is also worried because his "Downtown Trolley-folly" is in danger now. There is ...

Seriously, all my East Texas friends need to be alert to falling trees and limbs. In the last few weeks I have had $2800 damage to a fence and storage building from a tree that fell in the back yard, and more recently, $6000 worth of damage to the car from a large limb that fell on it while parked at one of Leslie's friends houses. The one that fell in the yard barely missed a man who was mowing - could have been fatal. We are bound to see lots of trees falling after the severe drought and now all this rain. Be aware! _ this post came from Lonnie Hunt, previous County Judge of Houston County, Texas. We have a lot of dead trees in our area - we all need to take heed of his words.
Pine Bluff, Pine Bluff!!! As I travel throughout the city talking to black people many are expressing support for Debe Hollingsworth. It is shameful that the relationship with black leadership is such that a white woman can pop-up with signs and a check book and take a majority black city. The slave mentality is still alive and well in Pine Bluff. While "negroes" are arguing and attacking each other the white woman is gaining ground and "negoes" will walk away with nothing. when will we wake up to the real art and science of grassroot politics and quit being trick by those with a check book. We are taught in Islam to study history. This is how Dutch King won the County Judge seat against 2 black men in a county that's 50/50. He pulled out the check book at the last minute and the rest is history.

I have finally had time to look at all election results and I must say I am ashamed of you. We have 319,206 registered voters in Volusia County, but in some races only 27 percent voted. What does 27 percent mean? 37,000 people from all around the county decided the winner of that race. These are races that will make a difference in our lives. County Council Chair, District County Councilman, Clerk of the Court, etc. Some of the primaries are no longer winner take all. So if you didn't vote, the person we needed to be in the runoff, didn't make it. Some races were decided in the primary-County Judge races and School Board races. This primary had some interesting people who have interesting lives. Some who made the runoff and some did not. If you didn't vote on Tuesday, don't complain about who wins in November.
Went before County Commissioners Court this morning and it went great . Twisted Boots Bullriding once again has the support all 3 major entities in our Community . Carlos Cascos, Cameron County Judge posted: Since I have been County Judge, I have never supported nor received a salary increase, nor has any member of the Commissioner's Court. I believe when one runs for public office, they are or should be aware of the responsibilities & the salary of the position they are seeking. Although a vast majority of County employees have not received raises in 4 years, I am cognizant of the unemployment rate & the economic conditions. I have not, nor will I support raises for elected officials higher than those given the employees & I will not support raising taxes to provide raises to anyone. I frequently hear about the lack of raises for county employees, the reality is that these employees have gainful employment & have not seen any reduction in benefits. I will continue to be fiscally responsible & base my decisions on what I believe is to the benefit of all taxpayers.
Remember we have an election coming up.I am not impressed with our choices for County Judge so I intend to write in a vote for James P.Tarquin as Judge. He is a friend of mine who has experience as a prosecuter and as a defense attorney. He believes in rehabilatation and has seen a change in me in these past few years. Please help me get an impartial person to fill this vacancy in our Court and write in James P. Tarquin as County Court Judge.
Don't forget, early voting is going on now! Please vote for Chuck Fletcher for Public Defender and Ruth Ann Hepler for County Judge. Both are, by far, the best and most experienced candidates in their races.
County Judge: Jail Annex Should be a Source of Revenue Robin Y. Richardson ryrichardson As county officials work on the 2013 fiscal budget, former Harrison County Judge Richard Anderson is asking them to consider housing out-of-county inmates at the new jail annex in order to generate needed revenue. “Revenue has gone down about $400,000, $500,000 a year,” Anderson said, pointing out the decline in tax revenues as a result of the recent Central Appraisal District valuations. The total estimated revenue from last year was $6.3 million; this year it is $5.9 million. “They’re looking at ways to generate revenue,” Anderson said of the commissioners’ court. “They should look at housing out-of-county inmates at that facility. “I’m urging them to do so,” he said. “Revenues that you take in from other counties, means that you tax your people less.” Anderson said the long-term plan of the annex was to construct it in a way to have room to grow. “We now have a 200-bed facility and it is ha ...
The courthouse will no longer belong to the people of Navarro County - it will forever fall under the jurisdiction of the state. With one vote, we lost our beloved courthouse. In case you did not know: Navarro County Commissioners voted 3 to 2 to accept another mathching grant from the State of Texas - this one to restore the courthouse. Soon the Navarro County Courthouse will no longer belong to the citizens of this county - we will have to get the state's approval to renovate anything. Thanks to the vote to accept a renovation grant from the state. PS we have no money to match it with. Say hi to even more taxes! HM DAVENPORT, County Judge, voted FIRST and YES before the other commissioners - what do you see wrong with the tie-breaker's action? HM ridiculed Butch Warren before the public about funds and also said he did not want the voters to decide this issue. Wasn't HM a DEM before he flipped parties to run as a conservative Republican? *** MARTIN said the commissioners had not performed their DUE ...

It is very rare that I give public endorsements to political figures, I usually keep this as a more personal privelage. However having had the opportunity to spend time talking with Ivonne I am moved to encourage everyone of my followers to support Ivonne Cuesta for County Judge, Group 27
Open letter: Message to the Black Community From: Justice Hubert Bass, Quorum Court of Crittenden County Greetings, I was totally prepared for the Quorum Court meeting on March 20, 2012 and I expected those white racist *** *** to do what they did; they're predictable you know. Now Woody Wheeless wants to head their racist "jim crow" system here in Crittenden County as County Judge and maybe they need Ann Stone to get it for him. We all should say *** NO to that idea. I expected their sambo *** Sam Malone & Lorenzo Parker to do what they did, them sambo *** are predictable too. Let's be clear about this, the *** whites called out their big guns; as they have many at their disposal: Judges, District Attorney & deputy DAs, law enforcement, bankers, a make believe newspaper, their PET negroes & other politicians. And the white power boys went to work on our only black judge in our district, destroying his Orders and attempting to destroy his image before his own people. I'm not mad at ...

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RULE OF LAW IN AMERICA? What really pisses me off is the Fact that the U. S. Justice Department, the Attorney General, and the FBI; along with every State Attorney General in this Nation; and every County Judge, Sheriff, County Recorder and every Police Chief in this Nation knows that these “Pick-A-Pay”, Securitized Mortgage Bonds registered with MERS are All Fraudulent and were designed to Discriminate and Exploit Black and Latino borrowers! Even though these banks know that they are violating numerous State and Federal Laws they continue to Foreclose on Black, Latino and other people of Color while the Authorities Stand Idly by and allow them to continue to enrich their coffers with these Fraudulent, Outrageous and Unconscionable Schemes.
This was a response to Mirian Spencer (I saved it for a reason) on another wall. I feel no need to apologize for political satire. For using a very descriptive word "cunning" to describe a political faction that is in fact extremely "cunning". Just happens that in writing the satirical piece the County Judge's name is "Veronica" and in that moment of creative writing, I replaced the first 3 letters of "cunning" with the last three of her name that produced the noun "VeroniCUNs" appropriately. All in the spirit of making a satirical statement on the state of politics in El Paso. O'Rourke and the phonetic spelling of his "nickname Beto" was poking fun at him because I have yet to see a documented explanation of how he got that nickname and it absolutely amazes me how politically expedient it is for him. Have you noticed Mir, I have not referenced him like that since the election out of respect for the office.
