Singing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” on stage to start Three Dog Night’s most famous song still gives Cory Wells a jolt and jump after more than 40 years.
Today, in the history of Rock and Roll, February 5th: 1942: Three Dog Night vocalist (along with Danny Hutton and Chuck Negron), Cory Wells, is born in Buffalo, NY. 1943: Al Kooper, producer, songwriter, keyboardist and founder of Blood, Sweat & Tears is born. 1944: J.R. Cobb (Atlanta Rhythm Section) is born. The guitarist-songwriter hails from Birmingham, AL. 1957: Bill Haley arrives in London for his first British tour, the first by any American rock star. 5,000 screaming fans greet him at the Heathrow Airport. 1962: Then-Beatles drummer Pete Best is ill so the group calls on Ringo Starr (Best’s eventual replacement) to fill in for a show in Southport. It’s Ringo’s first appearance with The Beatles and probably not a gig Best should have missed. 1964: Bassist Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses/Velvet Revolver) is born with the moniker Michael Andrew McKagan. 1967: The British tabloid News of the World, owned by Rupert Murdoch, publishes an article called "Pop Stars and Drugs -- Facts that Will Shock You. ...
I never noticed before but Geddy Lee looks a lot like Cory Wells only with hair, and a guitar.
DYK: Three Dog Night has had three US songs, each of which featured a different lead singer: "Mama Told Me Not to Come" (Cory Wells on lead), which was also their only Top 10 hit in the UK; "Joy to the World" (Chuck Negron on lead); and "Black and White" (Danny Hutton on lead).
Chuck "Three Dog Night" Negron grew up in the Bronx in the 1950s, pursuing his talents in basketball -- for which he was recruited by colleges nationwide -- and singing, which he explored with his doo *** group the Rondells. After playing basketball for Santa Maria, CA's Hancock College and California State University in Los Angeles, Negron was ready to pursue his musical career. He remained in Los Angeles, eventually connecting with fellow singers Cory Wells and Danny Hutton and forming Three Dog Night in 1968. They met with massive success, scoring 18 consecutive Top 20 singles, including number ones like "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World," and "Black and White." With success came the trappings of the rock & roll lifestyle, which for Negron focused on drugs: by the time Three Dog Night split in 1977, he had a 2,000-dollar-a-day habit. Remaining in the grip of addiction for almost two decades, Negron wasted away to 126 pounds and attempted 36 rehab programs unsuccessfully. His stay at the Cri ...

Hudl Film award of the week goes to Cory Wells this week with 2hr 18min in the last 7 days
TDN is still going strong with Danny Hutton and Cory Wells, but it's just not complete without Chuck Negron. This legendary tune is a classic example why.
Chuck Negron is best known as one of the three founding members of the classic rock band, Three Dog Night. Along with Cory Wells and Danny Hutton, Three Dog Night pioneered a rotating lead singer lineup. For a decade (mid 1960s-mid 1970s), Three Dog Night dominated the radio charts with eighteen con...
Wow, too many people to tag and too much too post about...let's give this a shot... A big thank you to Dean Tejas Smith and Mole Lake for allowing us the opportunity to put on a great and fun show once again at Mole Lake. Although 90% of the crowd is 12 or under, still surprisingly loud and fun. Also I won $5. Another very big thank you to Nathan Gust and Michael Wayne Rutherford for giving me a place to crash at, a memorable time at Denny's, and being the ring leaders of another GREAT NOW That's What I Call Wrestling show. Plus after-party, something that deserves a whole 'nother status. Another thank you set to Mark Priebe, Corey Wells, Cory Wells, Kas Rutherford, Devan Strouf, Joe Kippy Kielpikowski, David Froehlich, Brock Burkholder, Jonathan "Smash", Thomas Walton, Snake Eyez, Aries Toretto, Garrick Whats-His-Name, Pete B. Beautiful, the guy that bled alot, JP, Echo, and anyone who I forgot that I was involved with in their match. I love reffing for this group of guys. I truly do. Also for catchi ...
Read Three Dog Nightmare. Danny Hutton and Cory Wells aren't the nice people you think they are. Chuck Negron is no longer with them and they should call themselves Two Dog Night. Read where Danny and Cory don't even travel together when touring. They aren't the same. It's a long sad story. If you go to their website you will find they rewrote the history of Three Dog Night and left Chuck Negron out of it all. You can go on youtube and listen to what they sounded like then and now. They suck now.
Some very good maxes to finish the school year! Great work guys! Added 3 new members to the 1,000lb club. Hunter Anderson, Cory Wells and Shawn Black. Good to see hard work pay-off!
Often I am heard to say I cannot believe Cory Wells and Danny Hutton of Three Dog Night are 70 years old.cont
You guys might like this, but lead singer Cory Wells of Three Dog Night is a Bills fan too, I met him in 92. ;)

Well, I'VE NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN but I'm very honored and pleased to announce that by special invitation I will be performing and playing keyboards with the band Three Dog Night that's this Saturday Night in Coconut Creek, FL (near Ft. Lauderdale. Concert time 7:00 EST - The Seminole Pavilion Theatre. I'm filling in for their regular keyboard player who has been with the band for 42 years ...and is out on leave. So you might say "I'm A DOG for a NIGHT". For those who don't know this band has almost sold as many records as "The Beatles" and just completed a Album with both the London Symphony and the Tennessee Symphony. If you are in the area, please come by and say hello plus you'll see one *** of a concert (The Original Singers - Danny Hutton and Cory Wells all intact and singing Great!). FYI - I don't think I've ever played a show (or been a band member) where every song I played was a Million Selling Record - Saturday night at least for me will be a Three Dog Night TO REMEMBER. Saw this Supergroup in 1974 when I first graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Police Academy. Went with a close friend George Dugash, Patrolman from Forrest Acres City Police Department, Columbia South Carolina. He had been my roommate at the Academy for 8 weeks and was a good friend. This group was great, when they did the Show Must Go On, Chuck Negron, Danny Hutton and Cory Wells. Chuck Negron sang the lead, Danny Hutton came out in face paint like a clown and when they started the Show Must Go On, the keyboardist dressed as a sparkling wizards outfit with peaked hat rose in the air and started spinning end over end in the air. Amazing concert.
Beatle Bob's Top Rock & Roll TV's Historic Moments: The Enemy's on The Beverly Hillbillies CBS hit a ratings gusher with this rustic sitcom and The Beverly Hillbillies frequently topped the Nielsens during its nine-season run (1962-1971). It also spun off another long-running backwoods sit-com Petticoat Junction (which, in turn, spun off Green Acres), but a 1993 feature film based on the original series was a disaster. The Enemy's story of The Enemy's begins in Buffalo, New York in the mid-1960s, when vocalist Cory Wells joined a band called The Vibratos after leaving the U.S. Air Force. With the encouragement of the group’s manager, Wells headed to Los Angeles along with Vibratos guitar player Mike Lustan and drummer Dave Treiger. The trio recruited bass player Cal Titus and renamed themselves Cory Wells & The Enemy's. The music scene that The Enemy's entered into in Los Angeles in 1965/66 was thriving, with up-and-coming bands like The Byrds, The Buffalo Springfield, The Doors, Love (band),The Rising ...
