If you have someone buried there, you can send a little something to Corinth Baptist Church, PO Box 232, Ben Hur, VA 24218. Designate that the $ goes for mowing the cemetery. My dear aunt passed away and I will miss her. Obituary for Lola Dolinger MARION, VIRGINIA: LOLA MAE OSBORNE WILES DOLINGER, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in hospice care in Ocala, Florida. Day of prayer set for tomorrow at Corinth Baptist Church in Darden
For those of you who aren't aware, this coming Saturday (March 1) from 7am to 7pm, the doors of Corinth Baptist Church will be open in hopes that people from the community and surrounding towns, congregations of any sorts, will come to Hollys church and pray for her. The more the better! If you are a part of a church and could load up a church bus and come, that would be very appreciated. As a community, we are desperate and the Bobo family is beyond desperate. We need to do whatever we can to bring Holly home. Please share this status. Thank you!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they have executed several search warrants in the case of Holly Bobo, a missing nursing student who disappeared from her family's home in Parsons in April of 2011. On Friday morning, the TBI said they executed the warrants simultaneously at various locations. No other details, including locations, were released; however, sources said the TBI is searching a property off exit 126 on I-40 toward Parsons. The TBI would not say what prompted the search warrants or what agents hoped to find almost three years after Bobo disappeared. "To say we have a suspect in this case would be premature. We have been working leads on this case which led to the search warrant executions," TBI Executive Officer Illana T. Tate said in an email statement. Holly Bobo was last seen at her family's home in Decatur County on April 13, 2011, when her brother Clint told authorities he saw a man in hunting clothes leading the 20-year-old into the woods around the family ** ...

‘Getting Back to the Basic’ I think a lot of churches now-a-days have become a social gathering instead of a place to worship God. Folks sit on the pews and have too many choices to make now...Who are we going to go out and eat with after church?..Where are we going to eat?..Applebee’s, Longhorn, Red Lobster, Ryan’s, or will it be Mexican, Chinese or Italian? Am I going to drive, or who’s SUV are we taking? That’s the kinda choices that are made most too often during the service now...I remember growing up and sitting on a pew at little bitty Corinth Baptist Church when I was eleven years old, and I only had one choice to make, is it gonna be Heaven, or is it gonna be *** I chose Heaven, and I thank God for my salvation. I could care less if I’m not the most popular person when I go to church now, or even if anyone knows that I’m there. God knows that I’m there, and he knows I’m there for the right reason, and that is to worship HIM...I guess I’m just ‘Old school’ when it comes . ...

Looking forward to the Beth Greer's Women's Conference at Corinth Baptist Church Friday night with the girls from SCBC! Just one joke... An unbeliever sneered, "So many things in the world are made wrong. Look at that little acorn on that big tree and that big pumpkin on that little vine! People talk about an all-wise God at the head of this universe. Now if I had been doing it, I would have put that acorn on the vine, and the pumpkin on the oak." Just then an acorn fell and hit him on the head... Kay P

Shout out to First Corinth Baptist Church in Harlem. Rev. Willie was hot today. John 9:1-7 "Illuminating Interruptions" There were so many great points in this sermon, but to name a few: 1. No longer live under the toxic myths of others 2. Explore new courage on your journey to go to foreign places that God is sending you, even if it is uncomfortable 3. God can open your eyes to new possibilities despite the boxes people try and put you in because of your past 4. Beware of people who are always looking for the 'why' of your situation versus the 'how' of your transformation 5. Tell people look at me I am "a crash course in God's possibilities (I'm having a mini shout right now just typing this one!) 6. Rebuke toxic theological thinking that is steeped in tradition, myths, superstitions, empire paid preachers and people's own misery (misery loves company) 7. You don't have the switch on my transformation or purpose, the when, how or when. I don't apologize if it's inconvenient for you! 8. Don't hi ...

Preaching this morning at Corinth Baptist Church, "Persecution", part 2 "Round 2 with the Establishment", Acts 5:12-42. Do professional boxers quit boxing after the first round? Unless they are knocked out, they go back for some more in round two. We know the church may be battered and bruised, but will never be knocked out. Why? Jesus is the cornerstone! Gamaliel's advice to the council was indeed that of wisdom: "But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest haply you be found even to fight against God". (vs 39) TONIGHT...OUTSIDE THE WALLS AT 5:00PM. Bfast 9am, SS at 9:30am, Worship at 10:30am.
222 PRAYER WARRIORS 2/22/2014 Michael Bell, Corinth Baptist Church: We are praying for Todd and his family tonight, this young man (in his 40’s) had 2 strokes last night. Prayers continue for Alf Campbell and family; and for special people who swing on broken tree limbs. Tonight, I am praying that people will remember to respect cemeteries. I know I was raised in a much different time, than most people my age…my teachings began when I was 5 and my Dad died. First of all, you never ran or stepped on a grave site; you were quite, you did not yell, even if you saw a snake! You never touched or removed anything from a grave…it was ok, if you were replacing flowers blown over or pulling a weed from the grave markers as long as you were respectful. You NEVER interrupted anyone visiting the resting site of a loved one…you never, ever ask “who are you taking to”! If you have children, maybe you should share this, you never know when you will be glad you did! Praise: Nancy Tomah continues to men ...

Preaching this morning at Corinth Baptist Church, "Persecution", Part 1, The Establishment, Acts 4:1-12. After being used of God to heal a lame man, Peter began to preach. He didn't try to lead a revolt against the government or protest the high rate of slavery under Roman rule. He just preached Jesus! In the midst of his sermon, he and John are arrested and led away. (vs 3) Why were the religious leaders (the establishment) so threatened at the message? Bfast 9am, SS 9:30am, Worship 10:30am.

Hi, Could you post this? we just tried to catch a female pitbull mix out on Mike Padgett Highway, between Fielding Springs church and Corinth Baptist Church. She was a dark brindle, and wearing a (possibly pink) collar. She looks to have recently had puppies, and I think she's been hit by a car, as her right rear leg was dangling. We tried to get her to come to us, but she was too scared and took off as soon as we got out of the car; even the offering of people food wouldn't sway her. We ended up calling animal control, because we didn't want her to be out there, possibly getting hit by another car. If she's your dog, animal control may have some trouble catching her, but her owners might have better luck. She needs medical attention soon.
Just a couple of very important reminders for this week. 1. Don't forget to bring your shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child this Sunday to our service. We will be having our annual Holiday Meal after our service on Sunday morning. The Hospitality Committee wants to remind you to bring side dishes and desserts since the church will provide the meat and the drinks. 3. The Annual Thanksgiving Service with Corinth Baptist, Duke Memorial Baptist, and Maple Springs Baptist will be held on Sunday at 6:30pm at Corinth Baptist Church. (www.corinthnc.org) We hope you will be able to attend! 4. We will be having a VERY special guest with us on Sunday. ACTS Paul in Corinth 18 After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. 2 And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them, 3 and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks. 5 When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus. 6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” 7 And he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. His house was next door to the synagogue. 8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corint ...
8 Reasons why The Gospel of The Kingdom Needs to be Studied, Understood, Believed and Lived Out by Saints in this and all generations. As hinted in the prologue yesterday, many ministers have allowed themselves to react wrongly to the heresies paraded as ‘Kingdom messages’ out of North America and the Caribbean basin! It is wrong to throw away the Baby with the dirty bath water. To turn away from studying, understanding, believing the gospel of the Kingdom because some people have corrupted it with anti-Christ slants is to display the worst form of moral Ostrich life! That any one puts his or her head in the sand cannot wish away the greatest news ever delivered on planet earth by Divinity and faithful messengers of various generations. On the other hand, the presence of a counterfeit is sure proof that there is a genuine or original gospel. If it pleases the King, we will one day share again what He has repeatedly told us about the fakes and counterfeit versions of the Kingdom. Now let us get on wit ...
Acts 18- Be a Godly Influence Daily Nugget: The early church was blessed, but we have one thing that they did not. They were missing the completed Bible, as we have it today. We take the Scriptures for granted, but then, because they did not have the completed Bible, there were many Christians that did not know all that God had done and was doing. One such man was Apollos (vs. 24). He knew the Old Testament very well, but only knew of the teachings of John the Baptist (vs. 25). It is possible that Apollos may not have known about the crucifixion of Christ, His resurrection, Pentecost, and the workings of the Holy Ghost. However, this man took what he did know and spoke about the things of God boldly and diligently. Soon, two other disciples, Aquila and Priscilla heard the zealous preacher, and discerned that much of the happenings after Christ’s resurrection were unknown to Apollos. They took the preacher aside and explained what the man of God had not learned. Perhaps their updates to events helped ...

SPEAKING IN TONGUE There are many instances of speaking in tongues in the New Testament church. Contrary to what many believe, the church of the 21st century does speak in tongues by the power of the Holy Ghost. Tongue speaking is not a sign of hysteria, confusion, or demonic possession when it is the Holy Ghost speaking. It is by tongues that God communicates: to show His power to the unbelieve...r, to relate His message and to edify the believers. Other Tongues (Another Language) Other tongues is an actual language "Other" than the language of the believer. When a believer is filled or moved by the Holy Ghost, he/she will "Speak" as the "Holy Ghost" gives the power to speak. It is the Holy Ghost that testifies the unbeliever has been approved of God to be a son. Note that God confused the languages of the whole earth because they united for evil; therefore people of different languages are referred to as "tongues," kindred, and nations (Genesis 11:9). This is the tongues of men. Romans 8:15 For ye have ...
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121 KJV

Best Intentions 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 The Voice (VOICE) 12 So let even the most confident believers remember their examples and be very careful not to fall as some of them did. One of the strengths of the Jewish people is their corporate identity that comes from belonging to a unique, suffering people deeply loved by God. The tendency for the new, non-Jewish believers may be to create a new identity among themselves because they lack the sense of belonging shared by Israel’s descendants. A new day is dawning, a day when all may come to God regardless of ethnicity, locale, or social class. Believers in Corinth are not part of a new movement; they are a fresh expression of the historic movement of God. The twenty-first century church needs to hear this truth today as much as the church in Corinth did two millennia ago. The world has changed drastically since the times of Abraham, David, John the Baptist, and even Martin Luther. In the midst of radical economic and technological advances, some within the ...
Is it right To Judge, To Expose Error, & To Call Names? Many today believe that it is wrong to expose error and to name names. Liberals have always seemed to believe this, but in recent times it has been widely adopted by evangelicals and charismatics. Now we are seeing the same fatal error being declared by those who profess to be Bible believing fundamentalists. Those who are faithful in exposing error according to the Bible are now being widely denounced, and are accused of being unloving and unkind. I. It Is Right To Practice Biblical Judgment One of the most misused verses in the Bible is, "Judge not, that ye be not judged" (Matt. 7: 1). Every Scripture verse should be read in its context, if we are to properly understand the true meaning. In vs. 2-5 of this same chapter it is evident that v. 1 is referring to hypocritical judgment. A brother who has a beam in his own eye should not be judging the brother who may have a mote in his eye. The lesson is plain, you cannot judge another for his s ...
Looking forward to preaching the Word at Corinth Baptist Church today!
The Seven Keys to Fellowship As you stand as a Christian there will be times when you will find out if what you say and teach is a great deal of hot air or if you have the energy of your convictions. It could be as simple as finding a wallet on the ground or having to face the death of a loved one, loss of a job, or having an illness. Now what determines if you stand or fold up like a cheap camera? How will you overcome these times? Now an interesting question arises what if you don’t live up to the primary will of God? You now must face not living your life to the maximum. If you take the wallet, if you get discouraged by the fact that you lost the job, death of someone you love is complex situation and it has happened to all that they chose the wrong path, illness hits all sooner or later because none of us walk perfectly. Recently I suffered from an outbreak of cellulitis. It is not a life threatening disease unless left untreated for a long time. Now I had a choice to make, was I going to let it ...
Service today at Corinth missionary Baptist church was awesome and so spirit filled!!!
s181g13 Sunday 14 7/7/2013 'it will be more tolerable for Sodom' Luke 10.12 I find it significant that when Jesus makes reference to Sodom and Gomorrah, he minimises their culpability and suggests that the rejection by the orthodox and the devout of that generation to the good news would incur greater condemnation. This is in stark contrast to how Sodom has been viewed as much now as it was then. It was the byword for the place of depravity. The 'King's Cross' of the ancient world, a place where no self respecting devout person would be seen. But Jesus uses that very notoriety and turns it on its head. So Matthew recalls Jesus saying: 'Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town (1) and: 'And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades. For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you tha ...

VBS good job Sis. Signora Jackson from The Corinth missionary Baptist Church Family with our pastor Bishop William Davenport
This is a very sad day for the morality, or lack there of, in our country. It's not just indicative of one of our judges ruling in their own favor, but of many refusing to repent of their sin. One Day, they will stand before God to give an account of their lives and the rejection of God's word.
Two Kinds Of Church As we perceived, the Church that have been mentioned in the Bible are of two kinds. Although the Bible has no specification regarding the names of the two, but simply called both as Church, so to classify them for our understanding, we named the two as the Universal and Local Church. The Universal Church as we called, is the one mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 16:18 where He spoke to Peter saying, "thou art Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My Church (Singular); and the gates of *** shall not prevail against it." An only Church, that is composed of all Genuine Believers or Christians saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. We also called this an Invisible Church because we cannot see any gathering of it for worship while here on earth. However, It was already in existence since the day of the apostles until today adding members day by day and only God knows who they are for He can see the heart of a man. The gathering for worship of this Church would be after life here on ea . ...
It is time for Christians to reclaim the rainbow and reject it as a symbol of *** pride. In Genesis 9:13, the rainbow was God's covenantal token between Himself and the people of the earth that He would no longer judge them by a global flood. Thus, the rainbow is a sign of God's faithfulness and mercy towards the inhabitants of the world. It is not a logo to color sodomy.
Hello yall. What I am getting ready to say will probably make a lot of my friends not want to be my friends anymore. But I am going to say it any way. Alot of yall are wrong. And I am talking to Christians. In this first of 3 post we are going to be dealing with what is known in pentecostal and charismatic circles as " the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tounges". Most of your modern day pentecostals and charismatics believe that when you receive the Holy Spirit you will speak with unknown tounges or with other tounges. They base this on Acts chapters 2, 8, and 10. Well let us first look at Acts chapter 2. When the Holy Spirit was first poured out on men the disciples spoke with other tounges. And this is true but to whom was Peter and the eleven speaking to? Jews who lived in different countries and spoke different languages. They had all gathered at Jerusalem for the feast of Pentecost. Because the Jews seek after a sign THE LORD GOD gave them a sign. Notice when you r ...

• IS THE CHURCH LOCAL OR UNIVERSAL? One of the common doctrines within Christianity is the doctrine of the "universal church". Supposedly. the universal church is the worldwide "body of Christ" which is made up of all believers, which means (according to this doctrine) that all believers are part of "the church/ body of Christ". Although this belief is popular, the question for believers who want to be faithful to the Bible should be, does the Bible support this teaching? All that matters is what the Bible teaches. BIBLICAL USAGE OF CHURCH The first reference to "church" in the New Testament is found in Matthew 16:18, Christ said "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church". In light of the universal church teaching, is Christ talking about all believers all over the world when He says "church"? or is He talking about His first local assembly? The Greek word behind "church" is "Ekklesia", which means congregation or assembly. The word Ekklesia is translated as "assembly" in Acts 19:32 whe ...

What Does The Bible Say About Being *** David Riggs This Article was taken from the website of David Riggs. Bro. Riggs has passed away , but the Church at Oak Ridge still maintains his website which contains a wealth of information. I encourage everyone to visit it. all the sins mentioned in the Bible, perhaps none is more disgusting to God than that of homosexuality. God destroyed two cities in the plains of Jordan, called Sodom and Gomorrah, because their wickedness was exceedingly great (Genesis 13:10-13). Our English word, "sodomy" is a derivative of the word "Sodom," for the cities were full of the sins of sodomy. To gain a full understanding, the reader is urged to read Genesis 19:1-25. These cities were filled with homosexuality. Note the language of Genesis 19:4-5, "Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring th ...
(Alcorn County, MS) Members of a Mid-South church are standing by their minister even though he’s charged with sexual battery against a 7-year-old girl. Pastor Timothy Nall was arrested in early June after a grand jury indicted him. The decision to keep the Pastor in his current position is getting mixed reaction. In a church video, Pastor Timothy Nall began his Father’s Day sermon at Farmington Baptist Church near Corinth, with these words, “With all the things that have happened I can’t in all honesty do justice to the dads of the church, today.” Pastor Nall has been pastor Farmington Baptist nine years and is out on bond for the alleged sexual battery of a seven-year old girl. According to the Alcorn County Grand Jury Indictment, Timothy Nall, “Did wilfully, unlawfully and feloniously engage in sexual penetration…by inserting his finger.” The indictment states the sexual battery happened between August 2012 and April 2013. We are told members of Nall’s congregation voted during the Fa ...
What Is The Church Of Christ? Tom Wacaster Paul wrote these interesting words in Romans 16:16-17, "Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ salute you. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them." The reader should take note that Paul warns against those who would cause "division" and "occasions of stumbling." Religious division is denounced in the Scriptures on a number of occasions, either directly (as here) or indirectly (2 John 9, Gal. 1:6-9). Our Lord prayed for unity the night before He went to the cross (John 17:20-21). Paul wrote on unity in Ephesians 4:4-6 ASV: "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all." Of particular interest is the reference to "one body." Since the body is the church (Eph. 1:22-23 ...
Church Discipline What thought entered your head when you read the above title? Did you immediately think; “withdrawal of fellowship?” If so, why? For the most part church discipline is not only a forgotten command, but, when taught is misunderstood, and therefore, resisted. What is the purpose of correction in the physical family? Do not parents discipline their children because they love them and want their behavior to change? The discipline of children is for the purpose of creating a healthy home environment and to bring the family closer together. It is true that in some rare, extreme instances, a teenage child may be so rebellious that they must be removed from the home for the protection of the family as a whole. But everyone agrees that removal from the home is the last course of action used only when all other efforts have failed. Regardless of the action, discipline is unpleasant for everyone involved. What is the purpose of discipline in the spiritual family? It is to correct the brother or ...
Bro Chad Gary Grayson rocked the house at Corinth Baptist Church tonight!!
Sweet and sappy? Or biblical truth and tough love? What does America need from the Church?
::JUDGE NOT..:: We make judgement calls on a daily basis, from what and what not to wear, to what and what not to eat or watch on TV. We look at people and make silent or audible judgements about them based on their look, lifestyle, and/or conversation. The only time "judge not" comes into play when it's a NEGATIVE judgement call. But in order to give a POSITIVE statement, doesn't a judgement have to be made as well? So, why aren't those judgements condemned as well? How many of you after receiving a compliment said "judge not?" After the preacher got done and you encouraged them by saying "beautiful, and timely message" did they ask angrily "why you judgin me?" You see, my friends, if its a GOOD judgement call, it's acceptable. But if its a negative one? Get ready to have the judgement scriptures misused, misunderstood, and misapplied. Now, in order to respond to this post, guess what you have to do? boom. My name? GjAnderson. My mind? Narrow. Like the road I travel on.
Going to pick my niece up Sunday in OK. to come stay awhile with me. I'm looking forward to being able to spend the time with her. Also, going to surprise my aunt and uncle with all our old church family by being in church. I have am going to talk to my old pastor about some things weighing on my heart right now. He always guides me right. I can't wait to be back in our old family church. We miss it so much...
Faith and Works “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” (James 2:17, NIV) Nominal Christianity is a term that describes people who claim to Christians, but whose lives lack any evidence of that faith. It highlights the difficulty we have determining whether other people are really in the faith or not. Regardless of your doctrinal persuasion, you have to deal with people who have been sprinkled, immersed, prayed the prayer, walked the aisle, been confirmed, or any other ritual, but afterwards cannot be distinguished from people who have openly rejected Jesus. In the Bible, we learn there are two possible realities of this situation. The first one is positive and hopeful—that the person is a believer, but is acting like a lost person. Paul describes this situation this way--“Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food ...

(6/24/13) REAL CHRISTIANITY IN ACTION (Part Several months ago (It may have been more than a year), I went to Corinth Baptist Church, just outside of Bowdon. I had visited the church several times and I noticed there were just white so-called Christians there. There was not a black Christian ever seen. So one Sunday as I approached the back of the church to go out the front doors, I said to the preacher, “I notice that you have no black members in your church. Do you have something against blacks coming here, because I have a few black friends that I would like to invite to church?” Before he could answer, one of his members, an elderly white woman spoke up and said, “We don’t mind if they come, as long as they don’t cause trouble.” It was quite obvious that the ole Southern attitude was prevalent in the church. Yet, the church prays for God to send revival; I guess that means they want Him to send it without black people. Hypocrites!

Yes this world is really bad, but I must say I have seen some pretty awesome support in the last 24 hours for my family! God is good!
Love, not holiness, is God's essence and primary characteristic. Holiness without love would be monstrous - more like Godzilla than God. But love with holiness, means perfect love. Perfect love doesn't need to live in a contained antiseptic sanitized environment to function. It can lift prostitutes, heal lepers, accept tax gatherers, and forgive a nest of pharisaical snakes while hanging on a cross. God is not removed from us because He is holy. He is among us because He is holy! He loves us. We are removed from Him because we don't know who we are or who He is.
Youth service tonight at first assembly of Corinth. Mr Darin English will be speaking. He's one of my favorites. We would love to have you join us.

Ps. 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (The blessing and ongoing favor of God are our rear guard as we walk in the presence of the Lord in our lives. The sheep knew the shepherd had their back and was watching over them all the way to good pasture land or the place of complete protection. The believer has the assurance God has saved us not because of who we are in our own right but who He is and our salvation in Christ. So He protects us from anything and blesses us along the way because He is following us as we go to the place of eternal blessing. The greatest assurance for the believer is we will dwell in God’s house (His dwelling place forever in heaven and in His presence eternally. All can have this assurance if we trust Jesus the Good Shepherd as our Saviour and follow Him.)

Are Preachers In The Church Today Over Or Under Educated? Bill Goring The gospel has not lost its power. Literary degrees might help your vocabulary, but they will never take the place of diligent study in the Book of God. We are told to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). We can never gain enough education in the Bible. “The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:19). In apostolic sermons no appeal was ever made to modern theological thought. Men of God simply proclaimed God’s Word. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The apostles never claimed an emotional experience as the basis for salvation. They presented God as having revealed His will to man (1 Corinthians 2:6-13). This revealed will was placed into written form, “by which, when you read, you may understand” (Ephesians 3:4).We Must Be Educated In God’s Wo ...

Carnal Churches! One of the signs of carnality in a church is the focus on some preacher or teacher as the embodiment of biblical revelation. From I’m Glad God is Not a Typical Baptist Preacher by Ken Reamy Jesus Christ is the embodiment of biblical revelation! Jesus is the word of God manifest in the flesh (John 1:14) and the word of God (John 1:1). He alone deserves our attention. His ministers only exist to propagate His word at His pleasure. To elevate the ministers above the function they perform at the Lord’s will is to reveal church-splitting, fellowship-breaking, division that are heatedly condemned by Apostle Paul. In 1 Cor. 1:11 Paul says “For It hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren….that there are contentions among you.” How were these contentions manifested? “Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of paul; and I am of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.” 1 Cor. 1:12 Not a one of them in the bunch thought of himself as carnal by having his favorite prea ...
Invite a friend! Holy Yoga is offered on Sundays at the Hickory YMCA at 1:45pm, on Mondays at 5:30 at Viewmont Baptist Church and at 7pm on Mondays at Corinth! The YMCA requires membership but the churches are open to all!
I've heard of a communion being "open" as in all believers whether a church member or not. But I've never heard of it being open to anyone, no matter the spiritual state.
Just got my newspaper, Abilene Reporter, always late. In fact this one is dated 24 Jun 1953. An article caught my eye. It said on Saturday 20 June Francis Smith, daughter of Mr and Mrs C W Smith and Jimmy Barron, son of Mr and Mrs E A Barron were married at 3 pm at Corinth Baptist Church by the Rev Elbert G Peak. There were many disagreements on doctrine but the Early Church Fathers were unanimous against remarriage. The doctrine of no remarriage was very plain to them. Here are later quotes . by: Sharon Henry ^. Synod of Elvira (300 CE) issued Canon 9: "A faithful woman who has left an adulterous husband and is marrying another who is faithful, let her be prohibited from marrying; if she has married, let her not receive communion until the man she has left shall have departed this life, unless illness should make this an imperative necessity." 7 ^ The Synod of Arles (314 CE) instructs those young men who had dismissed their wives on grounds of adultery to not remarry. 7 ^. The Second Council of Mileve (416), the Council of Hereford (673), and the Council of Friuli (791 CE) made similar statements. 7 ^.. Pope Innocent I (401 to 417 CE) wrote: "Your diligence has asked concerning those, also, who, by means of a deed of separation, have contracted another marriage. It is manifest that they are adulterers on both sid ...

She was a friend to many and loved by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Robert Howard; parents, Edgebert and Zola Sharp Hill; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Apples of Gold for June 19: Forget your identity! What matters is your relationship to Christ. Not who you are, but who He is; not what you are to Him, but what He is to you. Forget yourself. Stop trying to establish your identity, and turn your eyes upon Him alone. "Who I am in Christ" is another psychological term that comes from currently popular selfisms. It is not found in the Bible. You are nothing. He is everything. "He must increase, but I must decrease," said John the Baptist. John was not suffering from an identity crisis. This idea comes from humanistic psychology, and not from the Bible, and it is tragic that Christians would fall for it. "And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith." Philippians 3:9
Who doesn't think that the anti-christ will be likened unto Judas, the Betrayer ??? What is the background of Judas ??? What are his roots ??? Will a descendant of his family become the anti-christ, in these last days, or will it be 'him' raised up again ??? (Theories run rampant these days) ! John 17:12 -- While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” 1 Corinthians 4:20. Paul the Apostle said he did not go to Corinth with words of men’s wisdom, but in demonstration of power and spirit (1 Corinthians 2:1-4). Why so? “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” 1 Corinthians 2:5. Christianity is about power to live a right life and power to overcome demons. We are rightly informed that the gospel is power unto salvation to them that believe (Romans 1:16). This means the power is only activated through faith when we believe. It is key to believe. When it comes to power there is nothing like God will pity you, that is the reason why the New Testament does not promise us that God will fight for us, but it says he has given us power to become sons of God so that we do the fighting. We are like angels on earth. We are commanders and angels do the fighting. So we “gotta” (must) fight the enemy violently and ruthlessly. Matthew 11:12 “And from the days of J ...

"I Will Build My Church" The above is a quotation from Jesus (Mt. 16:18). The statement shows ownership, i.e. the church belongs to Jesus. The church he spoke of is the saved (Acts 2:41, 47). The church is the "bride" of Christ (Rev 21:9). Christ is "head of the church" and "savior of the body" (Eph 5:23), which is the church (Col 1:24). It is also the "house of God" (1 Ti 3:15). Since the church belongs to Jesus, and it is his bride, it should be named after him rather than some man. John the Baptist did not build the church. He preached of another that was greater than he and introduced Jesus (Mt 3:11). Martin Luther didn't build the church. He insisted that men not name the church after him, but after Christ; yet it was done in spite of his pleas. Jesus' statement indicates that he built one church. We have seen that the body and the church are the same. So when we read that there is "one body" (1 Cor 12:13, 20) we understand that there is one church. Jesus prayed that his disciples might be one so tha ...
It's unfortunate that in some church traditions communion is always prefaced by Paul's corrective in 1 Corinthians rather than the gospel narratives. Yes, if communion has gotten out of line we need to be introspective & repent. But if it hasn't gone haywire like it did in Corinth, it would be nice to approach it as the joyful act of worship it is meant to be, rather than a solemn followup to a spiritual spanking.
I must say that I am proud of my child! Blake Mynatt attended Vacation Bible School all last week at New Beverly Baptist Church, he learned alot & had alot of fun in the process. This week is has also chosen to attend another vbs at New Corinth Baptist Church!

The Bible and Pedophilia By: Ed Hogan Posted: Wednesday, April 2, 2008 12:00 am Section: Columns on Church and Theology Email Print I have been pondering this issue of sexual predators in the church. Much of the conversation has revolved around larger denominational structures, rather than local churches. I think that has happened for at least two reasons. Pedophilia was for the most part perceived as a Catholic issue. It was too convenient to ignore the imagery of non-married clergy and altar boys. Huge court cases and enormous financial settlements only served to reinforce our prejudices. It has now become apparent that issue is an iceberg in the Baptist ocean as well. The Baptist Convention response has been abysmal at best. My own beloved Baptist General Convention of Texas has responded, but in ways which are insufficient. We have hidden behind the skirt of autonomy and cried foul to those who accuse us of not caring enough. It makes sense that the groups that have raised these concerns go after the ...

Had a great service this morning at Corinth Baptist Church heaven came down got tree new members. Good to see some of our members that have been out sick back with us in church this morning. Praise God.
Some "nuggets" from our Pastor. Well, praise The Lord everybody! Stop what you're doing right now and just give him some honor. I am certainly missing the opportunity to minister this morning to the great people of The EDGE Worship Center. I wanted to share a brief devotion/teaching this morning with you through this status if you don't mind. I was praying this morning and The Lord began to impress upon my heart to share with you about the importance of being in one mind and one accord. That scripture, in Acts, when broken down and studied in the ancient texts, actually indicates that being in one accord is sharing the same thought process. One of the greatest enemies of constant spiritual outpouring in our churches is due to the fact that there are too many different "trains of thought" among each fellowship. When we look at the different churches established by the Apostles, each one had a specific assignment, a call, a duty to the people which required each fellowship to be of a certain thought process ...
Many who currently claim to be prophets and apostles are no such thing. But they do manage by various means to suck people into their vortices and play them like instruments. I don't like it.
Come to church with us today at Corinth baptist church we'd love to have you (:

English Eucharistic Service (Raza D'Qurbana Qadisha b'leeshana englisnaya); Every Sunday commencing at 2:00pm at Mar Gewargis Church, Ceres. "Your living Body, O my Lord, which we have eaten and your precious Blood which we have drunk. Let it not be unto us, O my Lord, condemnation, but for the absolution of transgressions and the forgiveness of sins..." Let us pray; Peace be with us.
At the end of his letter to the Corinthians, Paul makes some personal requests and gives some final comments concerning those who would later minister to the church at Corinth. He then presents the qualities that a Godly leader should possess while leading the church. Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. (1 Corinthians 16:13-14) God calls leaders for the purpose of guiding the church according to His will. The great preacher and teacher R. G. Lee of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis said, "I gave the people leadership as I believed I got it from God, and they gave me fellowship. I used to say about my Bellevue people, I have to be careful what I ask them to do. If I ask them to jump in the river, I'll hear water splash. If I ask them to walk in the fire, I'll smell clothes burning." 1 What then are the qualities of a great leader of God? I. Be Alert. Be on your guard. ( v.13)

Ok so I want to find a great church in Walker County and have no idea where to start. I was raised southern baptist but I really enjoyed being in the Church of God. A Childrens church is very important as well. Anyone have any suggestions?
Tomorrow morning at 10 am. Corinth Baptist Church. Be there. Gonna be a great morning!
Who is the Bride of Christ? The apostle Paul NEVER referred to the Body of Christ as the Bride of Christ, Sheep, Holy Nation or Priests, this doctrine has come about because of mixing the truth given to John & Paul whose apostleship were different in calling & ministry. When reading scripture, Israel is always referred to as Sheep Holy Nation & Priests. There is NO such thing in scripture as Replacement Theology, the Church, the Body of Christ did NOT replace Israel, Israel is a Chosen Nation unto God and will Always be one. Replacement Theology came about from them that call themselves British Israelites, there is no such human animal, Biblical Israelites and Jews are one and the same people. Scripture says, the Lord came to the (lost) Sheep of the house of Israel, the word lost does NOT literally mean lost, and couldn't be found, lost means scatted, the Lord knows where every one is. Israel as a Nation had Priests & Kings. Israel failed to be a Holy Nation, Israel will be a Holy Nation in the future. In ...

Our big Uncle is Eighty years old.3rd of March,2013. RELIGIOUS BRIEF ON PROFESSOR OLU MAKINDE Professor Olu Makinde’s undying interest in the Nigerian Baptist Convention Missionary Work is varied and growing. This could be traced possibly to his birth in a trusted Baptist Denominational Family and at youth, to his Baptistic upbringing. His father, Emmanuel Alabi Makinde was a semi-literate Baptist who served honestly and conscientiously as the Financial and Public Relations Secretary of his Olorin & Akeke House at the First Baptist Church Igbajo till he breathed his last in 1972. He served like a Lay Reader of the Anglican Church. Similarly, his mother Grace Ajayi Makinde was the Honorary Treasurer of the Women Missionary Union (WMU) in the same Church for 17yeras. Consequently, Oluwadayisi had no choice but to take to the precepts of his parents when he was growing up and at the primary school, College and University he attended. Even before his baptism by immersion at the Okeerun stream in 1946, Rev. ...

HOMOSEXUALITY: A Church Accepts It By Lewis Willis When I was a boy, our small-town Baptist church was as strong as garlic on moral questions. They op-posed divorce and remarriage for any cause. They opposed drunkenness. They opposed lying, cheating and stealing. It would have been insulting to those people to have even asked what they thought of homosexuality. Everybody would have known they were against it. With this background knowledge of the Baptist church, I found it absolutely shocking to read in the Beacon Journal (3-3-92) that a Raleigh, North Carolina Baptist church was giving its approval to *** nuptials." By a nearly two-thirds majority, this Southern Baptist church "defied its parent church by voting to bless a *** union." The preacher said, "We're taking a stand toward a responsible expression of sexuality. . . It's a stand of support toward persons who want to commit to a long-term monogamous relation-ship." Therefore, two homosexual men will be "blessed" at a future service. There are sev ...

Greetings WORLD/ Pastors/ Prophets / Apostles/ Evangelist / Teachers / Man and Woman of God/ Sisters and Brothers in Christ. I have a simple question, i need your understanding and revelation. please help me out to explain.WHAT IS A CHURCH or MINISTRY?
And when they heard it, lifted their voices together with one united mind to God... ~ Acts 4:24 The church in Acts had great spiritual power because they had the same vision, the same goal, & they were all pressing toward the same mark. They prayed in agreement (Acts 4:24), lived in harmony (Acts 2:44), cared for one another (Acts 2:46), met each other's needs (Acts 4:34), & lived a life a faith (Acts 4:31). The early church as described in Acts lived in unity & peace. But when the church began to split into various factions with different opinions, the power of the church lessened. People who were unable to stay in agreement due to pride & other relayed problems caused the church to divide into many different groups. The believers in the church of Corinth were people just like us, people in relationship with one another, arguing over trivial things that they should have left alone. We see in 1 Corinthians 1:12: " What I mean is this, that each one of you [either] says, I belong to Paul, or I belong to Ap ...
is wondering where John the Baptist's (greatest of the prophets before Christ) gathered assembly for fellowship? What kind of salary did he get? Just grasshoppers and honey? Where is that kind of zeal and passion today in America? America is the way it is from all of you fake *** Pastors making meat of God's flock, while you live much more comfortable and richer than 95% of the world. You lead Pastors should be the examples on getting out in your communities, public squares and transient places to light up this dark world with the Truth. Put practice into your own sermons and stop hiding in your nice buildings. Unless, every lost soul that gets converted is God's choice and you can just wait for Him to bring them in miraculously, then I guess you would be fine. Wonder what would have happened to John if he just took a cushy salary to sit back on in a Jewish synagogue and didn't get out to the wilderness? Instead, he followed God and got his head chopped off. Get it yet? Where is all the suffering for Chri ...

[From First Baptist Church's Lent Devotional Guide] Romans 1:1-15 Around 57 AD in Corinth, Greece, Paul sat down to write the letter to the “beloved at Rome.” The faith of those making up the church in Rome was known worldwide and Paul was led to write them concerning their faith and his thanksgiving for them. At this point in time, Paul had not been in Rome, so he began by dictating to his secretary, Teritius, an introduction of himself. He described himself as a servant of Jesus, a “called” apostle and one that was “separated to” the gospel of God. Jesus had introduced himself to Paul on the road to Damascus as the one that Paul was persecuting, and at that moment Paul knew that he needed Jesus so he asked, “What would you have me to do?” In doing so, Paul accepted Jesus’ call and became dedicated to preaching the word of God. The decision was God’s to call Paul. Only when God does the choosing of a servant can God use that person for the divine will, honor, and glory. Paul never cea ...
