4/18/2014 'Kevin Edson' Bomb Hoax, unattended mental illness with an agenda or Patsy at the wrong place at the wrong time, you decide. Kevin Edison is supposedly responsible for the bags left at the finish line that sent Boylston Street, into lock down. The background of Edison from media is disturbing, along with his past, with that being said many things are not right. Reasons to doubt the main story: 1. The media reported along with several others, two bags were found on Boylston st, now we're at one. The story helps fit the suspect video of one bag on his back. Note: The second backpack was reported to be Mainstream's media bag full of equipment, so apparently the suspect planted the bag right next to a media outlet setup. Anything smell rotten yet? 2. The Library was delayed from opening an hr before the original lock down of Boylston and Copley Square. 3. We know Andrew Murphy was coordinating with DHS during The Memorial of The Boston Maratathon. 4. Reporters were not allowed to show live video s . ...

2014 Boston Marathon Is a Good-News Story The Wired Word In the News Some 32,500 runners competed in this year's edition of the Boston Marathon on Monday, one of the largest fields in the history of the race, which has been held annually for 118 years. This was not simply another running of the event, however, due to the two bombs exploded last year near the finish line by two terrorists, killing three spectators and injuring 260 more, some severely. That made this year's race not only a reclamation of the event, but also a declaration of resilience, pride and determination. "There is a different energy this year," Jeff Morris told a Boston Globe reporter. Morris has attended the Boston Marathon as a spectator for many years. "This year they all have something different to run for," Morris said. "You can feel it." The Globe reported that "elite athletes and weekend plodders together renew[ed] a determined pursuit of the finish line in Copley Square, amid greater-than-ever security." Participants and spect ...

For years, state and local officials have conducted a "tabletop exercise" before the Boston Marathon, a meeting that allows them to study a map of the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boston's Copley Square and plan for emergencies that could arise during the race.

Patriots Day - 1975 The newly-formed Hingham Militia helped kick off the Bicentennial in the pre-dawn hours at the battles of Lexington and Concord, then left for Boston and the Patriots Day parade from Copley Square to the State House. They were led by Captain Tony Macmillan (on his wooden leg) - shown in a Boston Globe photo in front of the Boston Public Library. Brian McSweeney marched that day and followed Tony as Captain for many years.

Yesterday there was a tribute in Copley Square. It must have been televised there were so many station trucks there. I couldn't stay because I was on my way to work, but I couldn't leave because Boylston Street was blocked. Wandering around blocks of barricades brought back last year's memories; my heart goes out to all the families whose lives were changed forever that day: and also to Boston, our fair city, and all the people in it. Peace.
So the jack *** throwing backpacks around the finish line last night is a "performance artist", which is English for talentless. I have an idea for his next performance: he is put in a cage in Copley Square, smeared with hot tar and then covered with feathers. Do it on Patriots Day and call it a homage to our Revolutionary War era ancestors.
It's feeling like last year all over again. While Some of my Team mates and I were at a service in Old South Church in Copley Square, Some person walked down Boylston Street in a black veil screaming "Boston Strong" and then left 2 unattended bookbags. I don't like this. Two years ago, if you did a Google image search for Boston, you would see pictures of skylines, the Red Sox, maybe a map or two. When the Boston Marathon was bombed, the search results changed. Blood on the street, smoke in Copley Square, mug shots of Tsarnaev. This was, of course, a graphic reflection of what would happen if you searched for Boston at that point. A few months later, and things went to the way they were before. Awful things are happening in Venezuela right now. The people were protesting, but the government cracked down, and now there's a revolution. People are being beaten and killed. So much blood and fire. The government there is cutting off the flow of information as much as they can, trying not to let the rest of the world see. I did a Google image search for Venezuela, and I saw this: of maps and flags. Not even people are shown. None of the violence, none of the destruction, none of the current events. That tells me that we aren't posting about this, not reportin ...

Happy Birthday New Old South Church! Today in OSC History: On December 15, 1875, Old South Church’s third and newest house of worship in Copley Square was dedicated in an evening service. Rev. Jacob Manning preached “Religious Culture” based on John 4:24 – “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” According to the Boston Daily Globe, Dec. 16, 1875: “Of the edifice itself it may be said that nothing more ornate in church architecture exists in Boston. Its tower is one of the loftiest in the city; and the building, with its beautiful stained glass windows and surrounded by its gilded dome, is one of the finest houses of worship in the land."

A tragic event happened in the supposed celebration of the 2013 Boston Marathon just today (april 16, 2013).. The terrorist attack, near the marathon's finish line, triggered widespread screaming and chaos, shattered windows and barricades and sent smoke billowing into the air at Copley Square. Crowds were in the area watching the runners take part in the world's oldest annual marathon. It was also Patriot's Day, commemorating the opening battle of the Revolutionary War. Within seconds, the festive occasion turned into devastation. LET US ALL PRAY FOR THE VICTIMS OF THIS DEVASTATING EVENT.. pray for the souls of those who died. pray for the quick recovery of those injured and pray for peace in humanity.
Dear Friend, Because of the cold weather in Boston, we are going to cancel the demonstration that was scheduled for Saturday, December 14, at 1 p.m. at Copley Square in Boston.
We'll be meeting in the Little Building lobby, and walking to Boylston. It takes about 15-20 minutes, give or take how many times we stop. Then we'll be cozy in the Copley Square T station! Look festive, wear gloves!
Introduction to Things Change Time is constant. Yet, it can pass in a flash, or seem endless. A span of forty years is geologically infinitesimal but, in human terms, it is generational. In a city, it can be transformative. In the wider society, the past forty years have brought incredible changes in culture and technology. Cousin Eddie films your same sex marriage on his smartphone and catches your new mother-in-law, in the bushes, puffing a medi-blunt with your ex. Eddie immediately posts the video online. Embarrassing? Maybe. But conceivable. Not in 1972. This book contains photographs of Boston forty years ago and the same situations recreated from similar angles today. The black and white photographs were taken by me with a 35 mm Minolta SR-1 camera when I was twenty-something and living in Boston in the early seventies. The color pictures were taken by my twenty-something daughter, Alanna, while living in Boston and using the camera in her Apple iPhone 4s. The iPhone camera has few adjustable settin ...

I remember we ran into Mel once at an anti-war rally in Copley Square soon after 9-11. He took us on a walk through Tent City and we learned how long it takes to make things happen. You and Sila Assad got an important lesson that day. For sure.
Beautiful view of Copley Square from the Hancock Tower.
A beautiful, chilly day here in Boston on my lunch break. @ Copley Square
So catch me in Copley Square Saturday dressed as a giant rabbit.
A random guy I've never met just stopped me in the middle of Copley Square to ask if I was at the Connemara Gaels banquet on Saturday...I guess it's kind if memorable when you're literally the only non-Irish person in a room of like 500 people, lol.

And I am singing Rejoice Greatly for the first time in ages. Reminds me of the old days back at Trinity Church, Copley Square! Orchestra and soloists and choir all sound festive; I really do like Messiah, for its holiday associations and its Baroque enthusiasms.
today is a perfect day for hot toddies in Copley square.
Trinity Church in Copley Square, Boston USA reflected in the windows of the John Hancock Office Building
Spent the weekend creating the music for the New Years countdown for the big Zebbler Studios projection show in Boston's Copley Square... My imagination is filled with all the vibes from previous NYE countdowns- the feeling of hope for the future, and that feeling of the community coming together to celebrate in one voice as we hurdle through the portal in to 2014. In the end, the goal is to make that moment really enjoyable for a vast variety of people. Often in my music, I feel focused on personally expressing myself and making it the way I like it... but for this big task, I'm trying to approach the canvas with a clear mind and cinematically capture the New Years spirit - the universally emotive moment of reflection and joy. Anyone that happens to be in Boston's Copley Square for the 10 minutes leading up to the countdown, prepare yourself for a spectacle! I'm really trying to make the best musical component possible -- and you can bet that this will be the only time it will ever be played, so I hope . ...
I have this brainstorm for a pay it forward Christmas and it is this: a group of friends collect new woolen caps, gloves, scarves and heavy socks and put them in a few laundry baskets. Then we take them to an area where a lot of homeless people hang out during the day. In Boston, the homeless hang out at the public library at Copley Square. Where do your homeless go during the day? Wouldn't it fun to giftwrap them? Mark them man or woman?
Treat yourself to some Next time you're looking to grab a meal on the go, try JOOS! You can find it at Blue Grass Cafe in the Hancock Building, right in Copley Square. "Glow" is one of my favorites, and "Antioxidant" is perfect for right now! XO *DivAmber

In 1990 Nelson Mandela visited Boston, staying the night at a hotel in Copley Square. I stood on the portico of Trinity Church and looking over a sea of people glimpsed Mandela leaving the hotel on Trinity Place to get into a car for an upcoming rally.
I saw Mandela one afternoon in Boston when he visited the city-he was walking towards Copley Square with some people when I happened to drive by. I honked and waved at him and he gave me a big smile and waved back. Nice moment for me.
There's a plaque remembering this author in Copley Square

In all my years in Boston I have been to many Christmas tree lightings but never a lighting of the Menorah and fell upon this Chanukah celebration in Copley square! I particularly liked that Governor Patrick and Ed Markey are in the boom lift to light it!

Band that was given to me (with remarkable intuition by the deeply wise Nancy Gilmore: Little Feat. Actually, LF is one of my favorite bands; I saw them twice in one week in '74 at Paul's Mall, an old Boston nightclub on Boylston Street in Copley Square, and I and my date wound up dancing on the tables (seriously). It was the Feats Don't Fail Me Now tour. They are still missed – and active, I hear. Hard to pick a favorite song, but "Fat Man in the Bathtub," "Dixie Chicken," "Sailin' Shoes" and "All That You Dream" imprint well. "Like" and I'll send you a band name.
headed to Boston in a couple weeks and need a great/fun restaurant for a Saturday night. We're staying in Copley Square - any suggestions would be appreciated.

Boston: Beginnings and Comparisons Friday last week I lectured on the history of the streets of Boston, and I took aim at one particular building, architect H. H. Richardson’s Trinity Church (1877) on Copley Square. Trinity Church was the second building on a schedule of 10. The inspiration to cover these buildings came from a PBS program last summer, “!0 Buildings That Changed America,” where the one-hour television show spent about six minutes per building. In my take on the same buildings, we spend 60 minutes on each building. Already having discussed Thomas Jefferson’s Capitol (1788) in Richmond, the first building on the chronological schedule, and having just finished Trinity Church, our next lecture will be on Louis Sullivan’s Wainwright Building (1891) in St. Louis. Following Sullivan’s Wainwright will be Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House in Chicago (1910), Albert Kahn’s Highland Park Ford Plant (1910) in Detroit, Victor Gruen’s Southdale Center (1956) in Edina, Mies van der Rohe ...

Big plans in Boston for International Nelson Mandela Day, July 18th. Day of service. Evening event at Old South Church in Copley Square.
I love you, Boston. You are a beautiful city with stories around every corner and a strong backbone. I walked into Copley Square yesterday and cried. It was all i could do. I hear speeches everyday about the Bombings, and i crie, cant people be decent for once? 4-15-13... They picked the wrong city to mess with, they are in deep dirty water... never forgotten,
Walking in Boston last week came upon the winner of the Boston Marathon, Lelisa Desisa from Ethiopia etching his name into the concrete at Copley Square. Very touching mementos are displayed on the square to honor the people who were impacted by this event. Deeply moving.
