With Nero in the house we should be worried MAURICE NEWMAN THE AUSTRALIAN JANUARY 07, 2015 NOTHING symbolises the depths to which the American democratic process has sunk than the testimony of Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, to a House of Representatives inquiry. “The (Affordable Healthcare) bill was written in a tortured way to make sure the (Congressional Budget Office) did not score the mandate as taxes,” he said. “If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies, OK? Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage ... call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever ... that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass ... I wish ... we could make it transparent, but I’d rather have the law than not.” Full marks to Professor Gruber for his candour. His subterfuge worked a treat. It conned the Supreme Court and moved House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to say, “We have to pass the bill so you can see what is in it.” Such is the nature of the Obama administration. Op ...

Senate Dems: Don't politicize Congressional Budget Office /wow, that takes some nerve. And mountains of hypocrisy.
The job of Congressional Budget Office director is shaping up to be one of Congress’ first partisan food fights:
Obamacare Lesson of the Day - The economy is picking up a bit - because of the sequester (that Obama did not want), low gas prices (from private-sector drilling or fracking on private land), and normal fiscal cycles that correct itself in a free market. Big government supporters need not worry though., Obama's spending on healthcare will still hit the deficit balance sheets around 2018-2023. And when they looked to score the costs of Obamacare, the Congressional Budget Office said the federally-funded healthcare expenses would cause the U.S. debt to rise to $23 trillion by 2023. The CBO has now revised that timeline estimate on the debt to hit $23 trillion by 2018.
Pet Peeves, I like rational debate. I do not ranting debate. There is a difference. This morning on Fox News, Alan Colmes, one of two Fox speaking personalites whom I detest. But they never are and the people on Fox seldom challenge him and every discussion with this individual since one cannot debate a listening ranting 5 year old who is shouting at you.

Non-economists issue demands for new US Congressional Budget Office director to make up numbers that suit RW ideology
Douglas Elmendorf has been the head of the Congressional Budget Office since 2009
One of the first acts of the Republican congress will be to fire Doug Elmendorf, current director of the Congressional Budget Office, because he won’t use “dynamic scoring” for his economic projections. That’s the magic math Republicans have been pushing since they thought up trickle-down economics: that cutting taxes unleashes economic growth and thereby produces additional revenue. The GOP wants to count the magic extra revenue against what’s lost when it hands out tax cuts, making it easier to push tax cuts through Congress. Incoming House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) calls it “reality-based scoring.” Another example of what we're in for when the anti-fact, anti-science crowd takes over next week. Global warming? Evolution? Widening inequality? Pregnancy from rape? Voting fraud? If you don't like the facts, make them up. Better yet, hire your own expert.

Received via e-mail from newsmax.com: 1. Top 20% of Earners Funding All of Federal Government Most American households receive more in government benefits than they pay in taxes — while only the top earners pay a significant amount to fund federal spending. That's the finding of the Congressional Budget Office's newly released annual report on "The Distribution of Household Income and Federal Taxes," which compiles data through 2011. The CBO divides U.S. households into five quintiles according to their income, and discloses how much they receive from the government and what they pay in taxes. The first quintile — the lowest 20 percent of households according to income — has an average "market income" of $15,500 a year. That includes income from labor, business, capital gains, and retirement income. This quintile receives average government transfers — payments and benefits from federal, state, and local governments including Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment insurance — of $9,100. Did you know that per the Congressional Budget Office immigration overhaul over the next 10 years would reduce the country's deficit and add an additional $450 billion in federal tax revenues? And, giving immigrants a chance to work legally in the U.S. could help boost state and local revenues by $2 billion a year. State income tax profits would increase by an estimated $1.6 billion, sales tax contributions would increase by $420 million and immigrants would pay an additional $76 million in property taxes. If the GOP is all about fiscal conservatism, wouldn't this go a long way towards the federal deficit?
"The Daily Feast" continues with a slip up in cyberspace: 1. Five videos exposing Jonathan Gruber and his diabolical plan to craft the Affordable Care Act in such a way that the numbers would be skewed to mislead the Congressional Budget Office in such a way that the bill would receive a positive scoring have surfaced this past week. 2. The main stream media is protecting the administration from embarrassment about this man's revelations, including his discussing the matter in the Oval Office with President Obama who told him to seek ways to achieve the crafting of the bill in order to get it passed (a positive scoring by the CBO was crucial for the passage of the bill that promised to lower healthcare costs for millions of Americans). 3. The rate increases in insurance premiums this year have been announced as follows: Bronze Plan = 7%, Silver Plan = 9% and Gold Plan = 18% (the deceit that Gruber perpetrated for about $400,000 in taxpayers money for his consulting fee is as scandalous as Gruber calling . ...

Dr. Jonathan Gruber, who appeared on national television along with Nancy Pelosi and all the other stooges selling Obamacare to Americans conceded that in order to gain support for a government takeover of healthcare insurance and distribution it was necessary to avoid transparency, according to officials with a public-interest group who discovered the YouTube video of that professor's comments and released it on Monday. Copied & pasted: Mark Pryor is from the government and he is here to help you. Nearly 16 million Americans on Medicare Advantage (MA) plans will pay more for their health insurance in 2015 as a result of Obamacare. Federal subsidies for MA coverage are being displaced to pay for the Affordable Care Act, resulting $160 billion worth of cuts, according to the Congressional Budget Office. “Right before we left on a trip our 2015 book came to our house and it said ‘changes,’” said Janet Trimble, a Medicare Advantage enrollee.“I always hate when I see the word ‘changes.’” The 2015 changes impact those over 65 with MAs who will either be paying higher premiums or paying premiums for the first time. Additionally, many MA plans will offer fewer choices of doctors and hospitals for enrollees.
Administration announces 7.3 million paid Obamacare enrollments, Republicans whine ByJoan McCarterFollow Issa preparing to eat some well-deserved crow. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa held yet another "oversight" hearing on Thursday, trying to find something, anything that smelled like an Obamacare scandal. Instead, he got the gut-punch of finding out that there are officially 7.3 million paid up enrollees, beating the Congressional Budget Office's prediction of 6 million. Making College Affordable "We will provide the support necessary for you to complete college and meet a new goal: by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world." - President Obama, 2009 Higher education is the single-most important investment that Americans can make in their futures, increasing their future potential earnings and lowering their risk of unemployment. Despite these benefits, the cost of attaining this education has skyrocketed over the past few decades, putting college out of reach for too many low- and middle-income families. Over the past three decades, the average tuition at a public four-year college has more than a tripled, while a typical family’s income has barely budged. As a result, more students than ever before are relying on student loans to pay for their college education. Today, 71 percent of students earning a bachelor’s degree graduate with debt, which averages $29,400. While most students are able to repay their loans, ma ...

Just food for thought You had one job, Congressional Budget Office. The government’s accountant said in a new report that it’s no longer possible to *** the overall fiscal effect of the Affordable Care Act because it’s not being implemented as it was written. When the law was enacted four years ago, a CBO estimate that it would reduce the deficit by $120 billion over the decade helped persuade Democrats to pass it. “The ACA’s financing provisions were assumed to be effective so as to get a favorable score out of CBO upon enactment, but no one is keeping track of whether they’re being enforced,” said Charles Blahous, a public trustee for Social Security and Medicare. The CBO maintains the law will reduce budget deficits based on a 2012 analysis. While some of the popular news media spend their time discussing the next president, as in Hillary Clinton, or the Benghazi massacre (Fox News), check out the following good news on President Obama's watch: "The federal government had a budget surplus of $114 billion in April, the Congressional Budget Office estimated Wednesday. That is $1 billion more than a year ago and would be the biggest April surplus since 2008. CBO estimates receipts were 2% higher in April versus the same month a year ago. Spending rose 2.5%. For the fiscal year to date, CBO estimates the deficit to be $301 billion, down $187 billion compared to the same period in 2013. The fiscal year runs from October to September."

At a Cinco de Mayo reception at the White House, President Barack Obama urged amnesty advocates to mobilize during the next two months to pressure Congress to enact immigration reform. Even though the Congressional Budget Office determined amnesty legislation would lower the wages of American workers, Obama said that he is “convinced that America’s prosperity and security depend on comprehensive, common-sense immigration reform.” “So far, the Republicans in the House have refused to allow meaningful immigration reform to move forward at all. We know there are Republicans in the House who want to do the right thing,” Obama said, according …read more Source: Breitbart
"The budget deficit for the fiscal year is expected to total $492 billion, which would be the smallest amount since 2007, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Reductions in near-term military spending and falling longer-run costs associated with the Affordable Care Act have also caused the gap between spending and revenue to narrow". - Dow Jones News Wire, 4/28/14; 3:29 PM
You may know that the main difference between generic drugs and their brand name counterpart is the price. Consumers save about $8 to $10 billion every year by purchasing generic drugs at pharmacies, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office just released its analysis of the budget proposal that President Obama presented last month. The result: it would yield the highest level of sustained taxation in the history of the country. Over the next 10 years, taxes would grow from 17.6% of gross domestic product to 18.7%. As current GDP is just under $17 trillion, that means annual taxes would be $3.1 trillion, or $9,804 for every American.

What Happens Next On The Health Law? Kaiser Health News by Julie Appleby, Mary Agnes Carey and Phil Galewitz - March 31, 2014: Just because open enrollment for people who buy their own health insurance formally closes March 31 doesn't mean debate over the health law will take a hiatus. After more than four years of strident rhetoric, evidence about how the law is actually working is starting to trickle in. Here are seven things to watch before the next enrollment period begins in November: 1) How many enrolled, really? Rightly or wrongly, this figure has become a yardstick by which some are measuring the law's success. But no one can give an accurate accounting yet. President Barack Obama announced Thursday that the administration had hit the 6 million enrollment mark -- the revised projection of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (which had initially forecast 7 million before the disastrous rollout of the online marketplaces last October). As of March 1, another 4.4 million consumers had been de ...

By NRO Staff Even with the latest Congressional Budget Office report lowering the estimated cost of Obamacare from its original predications, Charles Krauthammer said it is still a “gargantuan” figure, but just less than initially thought. Under this administration, the American national debt has still managed to racked up $7 trillion over 5 years.”This is unimaginable — almost undoable but Obama has succeeded in doing it,” he said on Tuesday’s Special Report. In order to address the issue of excessive spending, Congress and the president must work towards reforming entitlements, but he remained doubtful that it would take place with the current makeup of …read more Source: National Review
The headline that should be flashing in front of us is that today, well into the sixth year of the Obama presidency, the American economy, once a dynamic engine of growth, is still is a wheezing, struggling, underperforming clunker of an economy. We should be making a direct connection between this and the imposition of the Affordable Care Act on the American public. Amid the celebration of the seven million plus have who have signed up, let’s not forget the Congressional Budget Office report in February projecting that Obamacare will shrink the American economy by 2.5 million jobs
Extending UI Benefits Will Increase Employment By Approximately 200,000 Jobs By End Of 2014. A report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that renewing unemployment insurance would increase "full-time-equivalent employment by 0.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2014". Unemployment Expiration Will Cost Economy 310,000 Jobs. A November 7 report by the Economic Policy Institute concluded that extending unemployment insurance benefits through 2014 would support up to 310,000 jobs, and that without an extension of the jobless benefit program those jobs would be lost. The report further concluded that the actual price of extending the benefit program for another year is much less than its line-item budget due to the effect it would have in boosting economic activity and decreasing dependence on other forms of government anti-poverty relief. Jobless Benefits Are Good For Economic Growth. The Center on Budget And Policy Priorities (CBPP) argues that extending jobless benefits is important to he ...

Moral Corruption at the OECD: Using Dishonesty to Advance the Statist Agenda Daniel J. Mitchell | Apr 04, 2014 I’m frequently baffled at the stupidity of Republicans. When they took control of Congress back in 1994, for instance, they had unrestricted ability to get rid of the bureaucrats that generated bad economic analysis at both the Joint Committee on Taxation and the Congressional Budget Office. Yet notwithstanding more than a decade of congressional power, GOPers did almost nothing to neutralize the bureaucrats who produced shoddy research that helped the left push for more spending and higher taxes. Sort of like a football team allowing the opposing coach to pick the refs and design game plans for both teams. Another painful example is that Republicans never used their majority status todefund the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. This international bureaucracy is infamous for pushing policies to expand the power of government. That’s not too surprising since it ...

House Votes To Scrap Obama’s 30-Hour Workweek The House voted Thursday to strip Obamacare language that defines a full-time employee as anyone working 30 or more hours each week, a provision that some business advocates say is forcing companies to scale back the work time and paychecks of millions of Americans. The Save American Workers Act passed in the chamber with a bipartisan vote of 246-179 following two days of arguments on the House floor. “Obamacare places an unprecedented government regulation on workers, changing the definition of ‘full-time work’ from 40 hours per week to 30 hours,” House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) said on Wednesday. Seven Democrats co-sponsored the bill and were among 18 lawmakers on the left who sided with Republicans on the measure. Other Democrats, however, argued against the measure, citing Congressional Budget Office findings that reducing full-time to 30 hours provided employer-based coverage for 1 million Americans. “Essentially, w ...

Real thought I had today: mad props to the Congressional Budget Office.
After a surge of sign-ups on the last day for open enrollment, Obamacare is on track to hit the White House's original target of 7 million people signing up, a senior administration official said Tuesday. ... with that 7 million figure being the original goal set by the Congressional Budget Office. Let the Republican teeth gnashing and excuse making begin, along with a whole new set of anti-health care talking points (remember, boys, you already used up "death panels").
The numbers and the details about the Affordable Care Act are not in yet, but it appears that the 7 million predicted to enroll by tonight's deadline in the ACA will be close. The 7 million number was not a White House figure, instead a projection by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Republican detractors are already down playing this achievement, with some saying the Obama administration is "Cooking the books" about the number of uninsured enrolled and have a policy. There are the pundits who eagerly point out the many delays and extensions to allow as many citizens as possible an opportunity to get health care. I am simply mystified at anyone who would begrudge uninsured Americans the right to have good health care. Now, people in Europe, Australia and even Russia are stunned at the opposition to the ACA. Presidents, including Coolidge, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon and Clinton all tried in one way or another to give the American people what other industrialized nations and even some so-called 3rd ...
10 things you need to know today 1. The White House says six million have signed up for ObamaCare insurance The number of Americans who have enrolled in health plans under ObamaCare has risen to more than six million, President Obama announced on Thursday. That meets the most recent projection by the Congressional Budget Office, although the CBO projected last year that seven million would sign up. Nearly two million visited HealthCare.gov or contacted marketplace call centers on Wednesday in a rush to beat the March 31 open enrollment deadline. [The Washington Post] 2. Christie's lawyers say he had no knowledge of Bridgegate An internal review concluded that New Jersey Gov. Ghana’s economy is not in crisis – Prof. Quartey Head of the Economics Department at the University of Ghana, Prof. Peter Quartey, is calling for the institution of independent budget office to monitor government spending. This, he indicated, is a sure way to instill fiscal discipline on the part of government, more than ever during election year.Speaking on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM on Wednesday, Prof. Quartey said Parliament, which has oversight responsibility on the economy, has failed to live up to the task, hence the need for an office akin to the Congressional Budget Office of the US."If Parliament were to do its job then we wouldn't need this body. But otherwise, if we can create an independent body that can be efficient in ensuring that we stay within our fiscal space [discipline], then that will be a great idea," he recommended. The Economist, however, said the situation will persist if the nation's economy is left in the hands of politicians, who would always seek first, the interest of ...
The following is taken from an article written by Shaun Mullen, a TMV columnist, 3/24/14. The article was a lot longer. You can read the entire article at the TMV website. The Republican playbook has been simple: * Avoid abstract ideas and appeal to the emotions. * Constantly repeat just a few ideas by using stereotyped phrases. * Always give only one side of the argument. * Continuously criticize your opponents. * Pick out one “enemy” in particular for special vilification. Among the biggest Republican lies are these: The Affordable Care Act Will Result In The Loss of 2.3 Million Jobs. In fact, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office reported last month that the act will reduce the total number of hours worked by about 1.5 percent to 2.0 percent from 2017 to 2024, almost entirely as a result of workers being able to choose to supply less labor because of the benefits the act provides. (Then there are other hard-to-kill ACA lies, including claims the act creates death panels and pays for abortion ...

APC Advocates Public Hearing On Budget, Public Expenditure “The budgeting process must be designed based on sector plans, not mere statements of intended expenditure or line budgeting to be executed at whims of the civil service,” he said. 1034 DAYS LEFT . This week the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office finally reported the truth: Obamacare is the perfect job-killing machine. Millions of people have already been downsized from full-time to part-time work, and now we know from the CBO that an additional 2.3 million jobs will be eliminated. As I predicted from Day One, this is exactly what Obamacare was intended to do: destroy the middle class and make us all dependent on government checks to survive. Obama’s Kool-Aid-drinking supporters are so far in the tank that when the CBO courageously pointed out that Obamacare makes it less likely millions of Americans will want to work, they called it “choice.” Obama’s propagandists painted it a wonderful development. But letting middle-class wage earners and small businesses pay for all those who want to be freed from the need to work, so they can enjoy their free time and pursue their hobbies isn’t “choice.” It’s theft. IT is time to stop treading lightly and being politically ...
Though the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has already warned that proposed $10.10 federal minimum wage could cost the economy at least 500,000 jobs over the next two years, President Barack Obama and Democrats are still trying to push the increase
On the day that House Republicans hold their 50th Obamacare repeal vote, they get some inconvenient news from the Congressional Budget Office: an update of costs and savings for the law. Bottom line, costs are lower than the CBO originally estimated. Alas, what will they do? 51st is the charm, yeah, that's the ticket.
Democrat Sink: We need immigrants to clean our hotel rooms! Allen West We’ve got a little Congressional special election going on over on the west coast of Florida to fill the seat left by the passing of Florida Statesman Bill Young, Chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Republican David Jolly is running against Liberal Democrat Alex Sink. And the liberal media hypocrisy in covering politics is in full flower. Sink makes frankly bigoted comments on the subject of immigration reform, but of course the media doesn’t call her out on it. During a heated debate against Republican candidate David Jolly on Tuesday, Sink said “We have a lot of employers over on the beaches that rely upon workers, and especially in this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people to work to clean out hotel rooms or do our landscaping?” Earlier this year, according to Newsmax, Sink called a Congressional Budget Office report indicating that Obamacare would reduce workers’ hours as being ...
The following is an excerpt of an article I read by Derek Hunter that outlines the best possible steps to getting our country back on course. Very seldom do you find someone stating solutions instead of just complaints, and good solutions at that. The Stupid Party Acting Stupidly "Derek Hunter" Ideally, House Republicans would write and pass big-ideas legislation on tax reform, health care and regulatory relief to stimulate economic growth. If Republicans passed a series of unambiguously conservative, pro-growth, pro-liberty bills, they still would die in the Senate, but they’d have the Congressional Budget Office score showing the positive impact their agenda would have on the country. That would draw a clear line between Republicans and Democrats and allow a “this is what we have now, and this is what we are offering” campaign both this fall and in 2016.Of course, this would require Republicans to write such bills without loading them up with horse-trading garbage and to be able to clearly and uni ...
WHY IS THIS PERSON STILL EMPLOYED BY THE TAXPAYERS? Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday that the administration never had a 7 million enrollment target for Obamacare, backtracking on comments she made last year volunteering that figure. "First of all, 7 million was not the administration. That was a CBO, Congressional Budget Office prediction when the bill was first signed," Sebelius said in an interview with HuffPost Live. "I'm not quite sure where they even got their numbers. Their numbers are all over the board, and the vice president has looked and said it may be closer to 5 to 6." The comments appear to contradict what she told NBC News the day before the launch of the troubled healthcare site last fall when she said that "success," in her opinion, would be having 7 million Americans enrolled in the Obamacare exchanges by the end of March. "I think success looks like at least 7 million people having signed up by the end of March 2014," Sebelius told NBC's Nancy Snyde ...

Lamar Smith [R, TX-21] Bill State ENACTED:SIGNED Bill Summary 1/17/2014--Public Law.Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 - (Sec. 5) Makes appropriations for FY2014.(Sec. 6) Declares that each amount designated in this Act for Overseas Contingency Operations/Global War on Terrorism pursuant to the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 (Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Act) shall be available (or rescinded, if applicable) only if the President subsequently so designates all such amounts and transmits the designations to Congress.(Sec. 7) Declares that if, for FY2014, new budget authority provided in appropriation Acts exceeds the discretionary spending limit for any category set forth in the sequestration requirements of the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Act due to estimating differences with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), an adjustment to the discretionary spending limit in such category for FY2014 shall be made ...
From the Wall Street Journal: Senate Finance Committee Chairman, Ron Wyden, when asked by Bloomberg if tax reform should raise revenues, Wyden replied that the Congressional Budget Office had committed to him to "actually score pro-growth tax reform as generating revenue." So fact is finding its way into DC! WI has been on it since 2011.
I'll be sending this in to the Shreveport Times on 2/23/14. My guess is it'll appear this week or the next. There may be one or two more edits. I wanted to include something about corporate welfare, but I'll save that for another opinion piece.   -   On February 18, 2014, the Congressional Budget Office released a report highlighting the effects of a minimum-wage increase on employment and family income. The primary downside, which Republicans have vehemently paraded on every possible network and outlet, is a loss of 500,000 jobs, or 0.3 percent of total employment. For a report that is forty-three pages long, Republicans didn’t find any other bit of information worth mentioning. Like Dora the Explorer, we need to go exploring.   Based on the report, Republicans make it a point to hammer in the harm of increasing minimum wage, but don’t bother lifting a finger to acknowledge the overwhelming positives. They omitted the 16.5 million low-income workers who would see an increase in earnings, the 900,0 ...
Excerpt from Diane Black, Congresswoman from TN 6 Dist "Even worse, the president’s signature domestic policy achievement, Obamacare, is one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of economic recovery. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has warned us that over the next ten years Obamacare will cost our economy the equivalent of 2.5 million full-time workers. At a House Budget Committee hearing I recently had the opportunity to ask CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf what effect reduced labor force participation would have on our economy and he told me pointedly that it will be “the central factor in slowing economic growth.”"
Upcoming News from today's Sentinel: About 40 people attended an hour-long meeting with U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte Wednesday in Winchester, and minimum wage garnered the most attention. Ayotte cited a report from the Congressional Budget Office saying 500,000 jobs could be lost by raising the minimum wage. Ayotte also spoke about decreasing the federal deficit, reforming the tax code and the 2012 attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Benghazi, really? Oh, let's deflect from talking about the minimum wage. And, oh, that most of us who work couldn't make this noontime meeting.
ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW TO PONDER ... When you know Obamacare is in trouble By Jennifer Rubin ... February 19 at 3:49 pm You know Obamacare is a political disaster when: • It becomes fodder for late night TV shows; • The president’s political operation goes door to door scrounging up a few thousand sign-ups; • The White House and its spinners defend “freeing” people from work while they draw subsidies from working people; • The White House won’t give a breakdown so that we can know how many of the sign-ups are just people shifting from canceled plans; and • The president resorts to a series of unilateral fixes, raising constitutional questions. Aside from the political fallout, we don’t yet know the extent of the health-care and economic consequences, although the Congressional Budget Office tells us we will have the equivalent of 2.5 million fewer workers — a blow to claims the law would promote job-creation and economic growth. The Wall Street Journal reports: Companies worry about t ...
Congressional Budget Office sends death blow to
In the paper today A Congressional Budget Office report issued earlier this month estimate that by 2017 the workforce will be reduced by the equivalent of 2 million full-time jobs and 2.3 million by 2021--because of Obamacare. The CBO's report last May that 31 million people won't have health insurance in 2023. So how does one defend spending $1.2 trillion for a health care overhaul that disincentivizes people to work and leaves 31 million uninsured.
