Colin Kaepernick & Matt Ryan
Colin Rand Kaepernick (born November 3, 1987) is an American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. Matthew Thomas Matt Ryan (born May 17, 1985), nicknamed Matty Ice, is the starting American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. /5
Colin Kaepernick Matt Ryan Aaron Rodgers Tom Brady Joe Flacco Russell Wilson Peyton Manning Eli Manning Tony Romo Super Bowl Drew Brees Cam Newton Andrew Luck Atlanta Falcons Alex Smith San Francisco Ben Roethlisberger Matt Schaub Jay Cutler Frank Gore
With no team, Colin Kaepernick's jersey is still a top seller. It's 17th - above Russell Wilson & Matt Ryan.
Matt Ryan was the NFL's most accurate QB under pressure last season, completing 59% of his passes. Colin Kaepernick was the worst…

One week removed from a league-low scoring output, 2nd-place merk gang (5-2, 634.36) takes on 3rd-place Certified (4-3, 608.78). Recent projections have this one as a possible thrashing, with Certified favored to win by 37.14 points, the largest margin in the league. Certified starts the Denver Broncos DEF (6.00 projected points) and Demaryius Thomas (21.50 projected points) tonight, while merk gang is going with Nick Novak (8.00 projected points). Every other matchup in the league also gets underway tonight. Certified has a considerable advantage at the QB position, where Matt Ryan is projected to outscore Colin Kaepernick, 20.24 - 0.00. Certified has two players (Andre Ellington and Matt Ryan) facing a top-10 defense while two more (Demaryius Thomas and Alfred Morris) face a bottom-10-ranked defense. merk gang has three starters (Fred Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, and Zach Ertz) going up against a top-10 defense and two (Ben Tate and DeMarco Murray) against a defense ranked in the bottom 10. Certified picked ...
Colin Kaepernick, Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are the only NFC Quarterbacks to throw for at least 200 yards in every game…
I actually found someone today who would rather build a team around Colin Kaepernick than Matt Ryan because of their playoff records.
so between AJ Green, Knowshon Moreno, Toby Gerhart, Colin Kaepernick and Matt Ryan, last night was an disaster
Colin Kaepernick's 125.5 passer rating was second-best in kickoff weekend, behind Matt Ryan (128.8)
Matthew Stafford had the 3rd highest QB rating of the 1st week at 125.3. Colin Kaepernick (125.5) & Matt Ryan (128.8) the only 2 to top him
The devil is in the details with NFL contracts since they aren't fully guaranteed like MLB and NBA contracts. Colin Kaepernick's recent six-year contract extension worth a maximum of $126 million is a perfect illustration of this principle. On the surface it appeared as if the San Francisco 49ers made a huge financial commitment to their QB because of the overall value of the deal and the $61 million in guarantees. But Kaepernick's contract doesn't provide him the same level of security as comparable quarterback deals. Only $12,973,766 is fully guaranteed at signing. Jay Cutler, Tony Romo and Matt Ryan have $38 million, $40 million and $42 million fully guaranteed at signing in their contracts, which is essentially triple Kaepernick's amount. Kaepernick's deal helped shed light on how NFL contracts are generally structured because of the scrutiny it received. Average salary and total compensation are misleading because of the lack of security with NFL contracts. The most important metrics are compensation ...
Colin Kaepernick got a 126 mil / 6 yr deal with 60 mil up front, with the 49ers. Many people are saying that its a "gamble" and "he got overpaid'' but here are his stats. CK, his first two season his gone to the playoffs both times, went 4-2 and has won all four games on the road, lost one Super Bowl on the very last play, and came within inches of possibly going to another. So you look at players like, Jay Culter, Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, all who's contracts are in the 110+ million range and you see why he got that kind of a deal. San Fran see a bright future with him, not a bad move at all by them.
Well, looks like Colin Kaepernick has just officially joined the ranks of Joe Flacco & Matt Ryan as the most overpaid/overrated QBs in the NFL. 6 years and $110 million ($61 million guaranteed) for a player who is yet to win a ring! I am not arguing that Kaepernick is not a quality QB, I simply don't think that he deserves "Aaron Rodgers money." I'm worried as to what financial precedent this will establish for the NFL QB market. When will the bubble burst?
Leave it to a Raiders fan (Terrence Banks) to say Colin Kaepernick doesn't deserve a $61 million guaranteed because he didn't get to the Super Bowl last year. Colin Kaepernick & Russell Wilson were the 2 lowest paid starting quarterback in the NFL last year an Kaep been to two straight NFC championship games, a Super Bowl appearance, 21-8 as a starter, most rushing yards in a playoff game, has beaten Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers (Twice) in the playoffs (both $100 million QBs) and is under the age of 26. If you ask me this new contract is a year late. Next some cowboys fan gonna tell me Romo better than Kaepernick.
How much is Tom Condon seeking for his client, Alex Smith? He has already landed Peyton Manning $18 Million a year, Drew Brees $18.4 Million a year, Tony Romo $17 Million a year, Matt Ryan $16.5 Million a year and will be negotiating hefty deals for Eli Manning and Matt Stafford, soon. Not long after Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco and Jay Cutler all with big deals and with other QBs working behind the scenes on extensions(Colin Kaepernick & Ben Roethlisberger) and others who will be needing dealt with over the next 12 months(Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III) just how much can we pay Smith? Any extension, as discussed in depth; will already cost us the services of Tamba Hali. A huge extension, more then likely chops Brandon Flowers or Dwayne Bowe off, also. SO, serious questions. Are we at a place where we can even make this deal? Will Alex stick with his QB brethren and increase the average pay for QBs or will he cut us a deal?
I wonder who will win a Super Bowl first Andrew Luck, Colin Kaepernick, Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan or Cam Newton.
What is worst, watching the Super Bowl from the couch? (Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan or that other guy from New Orleans) Or playing in the Super Bowl and getting beat 43-8 while looking like Tony Romo?
Colin Kaepernick has more playoff wins than Romo and Matt Ryan combined...FACT
Welp Jaws does his QB rankings pre season and I will do mine 3/4 of the way through. 1. Peyton Manning (obvious) 2. Tom Brady (Timmy Terrific) 3. Aaron Rodgers (tough call over Breesy but gotta do it) 4. Drew Brees (major separation from these 4 on down) 5. Tony Romo (gut check time) 6. Ben Roethlisberger (the rings won't carry you too much further) 7. Matt Ryan (tough year, but body of work) 8. Eli Manning (rings is all you can say) 9. Phillip Rivers (big bounce back year, last two an anomaly) 10. Russell Wilson (want to put him higher but I can't) 11. Matt Stafford (still turns it over too much to be higher) 12. Cam Newton ( a lot left to prove, but great start to career) 13. Andrew Luck (a lot of talent, just hasn't quite put it all together) 14. Robert Griffin III (one of the best seasons from a rookie you'll ever see unhealthy) 15. Joe Flacco (one great great run lol) 16. Colin Kaepernick (real stud, but a lot of good QBs in the league, still a lot to prove) 17. Jay Cutler (highest I can put him, he ...
?...My QBs are Colin Kaepernick & Alex Smith-I have a trade offer to get Matt Ryan for Marshawn Lynch...
So... Alex Smith has more wins then Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Ben Rothisberger, and Colin Kaepernick combined.
Kaepernick has another horrible fantasy game, worried? Shouldn't be not many Quarterback have been able to rip apart the Rams this season. Week 1: Carson Palmer: 17 points Week 2: Matt Ryan: 22 points Week 3: Tony Romo: 20 points Week 4: Colin Kaepernick: 13 points This game was all about Frank Gore running wild, as we expected, and then Kaepernick didn't get to throw the ball much in the 4th quarter so we can't panic yet, we just the fact that they didn't need to throw. CPB
"Brian Hoyer outscore the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Robert Griffin III, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, Michael Vick, Andy Dalton and Eli Manning. Heck, Jake Locker and Geno Smith did that, too."
Elite. The word is defined by Merriam Webster’s dictionaryas meaning “The choice part” or “The best of a class”. So why is it that whensports are involved there is so much conversation that the word starts to loseit’s meaning? There are several factors that can influence arguments includingteam and player biases and lack of knowledge on the subject among other things. With all that said statistics don’t lie and is the case with Eli Manning, theytell the whole truth. You can spell Elite without Eli. First let’s take a pool of players whom most consider elite. We’ll make the pool 10 players, all of whom are still in the league. With those10 players we will provide 3 widely considered elite quarterbacks in Tom Brady,Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers. The next set we’ll consider 3 QB’s thatthere is argument about whether they are or are not elite. They are Drew Brees,Ben Roethlisberger, and Matt Ryan. And the last tier of 3 we’ll throw in someunproven talent in RG3, Colin Kaepernick, and ...
What's the better keeper? Matt Ryan and giving up my 8th round pick or Colin Kaepernick and giving up my 16th round pick?
use that aggression, primarily, on the following: Roddy White, Matt Ryan, Steve Smith, Cam Newton, Colin…
I am here to release two more QBs into my ranking! I previously had ranked my top 5, being: 1) Aaron Rodgers 2) Drew Brees 3) Peyton Manning 4) Tom Brady 5) Cam Newton I am have no changes among my top 5 to this point. With that said, here are my and QBs for the 2013 Fantasy Season. 6) Matt Ryan - Ryan was the fantasy QB last year, and has been among the points leaders at the QB position for some time now. Ryan has been improved every year as a fantasy QB, and there is no reason to expect that trend to slow down this year. He is in an offense that is full of returning starts in Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez, and will feature a big upgrade at the RB position in Steven Jackson. There is no doubt in my mind that Ryan will be among the leaders at the QB position on 2013. I would be happy to get Ryan around the 5th round this year. 7) Colin Kaepernick - After Matt Ryan, there seems to be a small drop off in what you are getting at the QB position, largely because of the uncertainty that looms in t ...
ESPN Video: ESPN fantasy analysts debate whether they would rather have Matt Ryan's steadiness or Colin Kaepernick's explosiveness in fantasy this season.
Colin Kaepernick has thrown 218 passes in his career but he's ranked ahead of Brady, Stafford and Matt Ryan?
Joe Flacco overpaid? Aaron Rogers, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning probably disagree and it will get interesting.
2012 QBR winners - in order: - Peyton Manning - Tom Brady - Colin Kaepernick - Matt Ryan - Aaron Rodgers - Robert Griffin III - Alex Smith 2 of the top 7 QB's in the whole NFL played on the same team. Crazy.
So the debate goes on regarding whether or not Joe Flacco is an "elite" QB. Well, here's a list of QBs I would take ahead of him (in no particular order). RG3, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, and Russell Wilson. So I have him as the 13th best QB in the league at best. If that makes him elite, then yes, he's elite.
So!as of last night , who's better , Colin Kaepernick or Matt Ryan ?
Nobody has a higher QB rating in the last 10 games than Colin Kaepernick. Not Russell Wilson, not Tom Brady, not Matt Ryan.
Conference Championship performance: I WENT 2-0! WOO! What I learned in the Conference Championship weekend - Matt Ryan finishes his fourth playoff season with one postseason victory. You wanna know who else has one postseason win? Tony Romo, Tim Tebow, Tommy Maddox (as a starting quarterback; he won his ring on the bench), Jake Plummer, Alex Smith (again, refer to Tommy Maddox), among a few others that I'm sure I'm forgetting. - You wanna know who has MORE playoff wins as a QB than Matt Ryan? Chris Chandler, Trent Dilfer, Mark Sanchez, Brad Johnson, and Jake Delhomme. - In all due seriousness, Falcons/Niners was a solid game. Julio Jones caught two great touchdown passes for the Falcons, and despite a slow start, Colin Kaepernick was able to find his game (though not in the same condition as it was in the Packers game) and lead his team when it mattered most. And with that, my preseason NFC pick makes it to the Superbowl, though to be fair, when I made that pick, Alex Smith was still head qu ...
wow! Was I surprised last night. I thought the 49ers were in trouble when they were down 17-0. They fought back brilliantly and pulled this one off. They shut down Atlanta completely in the 2nd half. Hats off to Jim Harbaugh. Can this guy coach or what? Colin Kaepernick played superbly. Was impressed with SF's D in the second half. Wasn't a fan of the play calling of Matt Ryan in that last drive. That 4th and 4 throw was atrocious. They did have a great season. They won a playoff game, so that monkey is off their backs, but they came up a little short. I hope Tony Gonzalez doesn't retire. He looks like he has some gas left in his tank, but if he does he will retire as probably the best Tight End in NFL history. Some will argue that but thats my opinion. In the AFC title game, I was a little stunned. I thought New England was on a mission. I thought this was their year. Things looked good in the 1st half but I don't know what the *** happened in the second half. Baltimore played great. The Pats came up e . ...
The San Francisco 49ers are going to the Super Bowl, which a lot of people think "validates" Jim Harbaugh's decision to go to Colin Kaepernick. That's a silly argument. It would have been the right decision whether the Falcons scored a touchdown on their final possession or not. It was obvious that Harbaugh's decision was right weeks ago. -Greg Rosenthal Huh? Really, in those games that the Niners were either CLOSE or LOST (except for the Giants, Seahawks Game 2, & Vikings), they shot themselves in the foot. Kaepernik overthrew his guys so many times. If not, then they would have been blowouts. The Niners could be 13-3 in the regular season. Nope, Greg, if it weren't for the Crabtree fumble and the missed Akers field goal kick (10 points where the Niners shot themselves in the foot), then the score would have been 38 - 24. Everyone would be saying..."We knew this was going to happen. The Falcons had a easy schedule...Matt Ryan in overrated...da dee da dee dah." Once again, the Defense stepped up to ...
One more posting and I'll let it go . it occurred to me as I sit here and read about this year's playoffs to date that there is a new breed of QB and team approach. We are now in an era of Joe Wilson-Seattle; Cam Newton-Carolina; Joe Flacco-Baltimore; RGIII-Redskins; Colin Kaepernick-49ers; Andrew Luck-Colts; Matt Ryan-Falcons . the 'new' guys. Is it the beginning of the end for another era ...??... Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Tony Romo (ha), even Aaron Rogers . It will be very interesting to see where teams go and how they draft in April. OK...I'm done
Colin Kaepernick has beaten Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan in first nine starts. Huge fan of this kid, in both reality and fantasy.
I know I didn't feel this way when it was Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers but but I'm not a fan of young QBs that haven't "earned their stripes" going to the Super Bowl. I know 49er fans will strongly disagree and I get that. But, I was pulling for Matt Ryan over Colin Kaepernick. That and the attitude.
ATLANTA (AP) -- Frank Gore's 9-yard run midway through the fourth quarter gave San Francisco a 28-24 lead over the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday's NFC championship game. The 49ers, who trailed 17-0 in the first half, took their first lead of the game on a short 38-yard drive set up by Ted Ginn Jr.'s 20-yard punt return. Gore had a 5-yard touchdown run to cap an 82-yard drive to open the second half. The high-scoring pace of the first half continued as the 49ers were impressive to open the second half. Colin Kaepernick had passes of 21 and 17 yards to Randy Moss in the drive. The 17-yarder moved the 49ers to the Falcons 5, setting up Gore's scoring run. Matt Ryan threw three touchdown passes in the first half, including a 10-yard toss to Tony Gonzalez with 25 seconds remaining in the half. The score answered San Francisco's two straight touchdowns as Atlanta led 24-14 at halftime. Ryan also threw touchdown passes of 20 and 46 yards to Julio Jones. Ryan was hurt by two third-quarter turnovers. His pass for Rodd ...
A Running QB has Just took his team to the Super Bowl!! Now let's see if 49ers can actually win it all. The 49ers had to get past Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan to get to the Super Bowl. I'm very happy for Jim Harbaugh/Colin Kaepernick! Good Call, Jim. -Moses
In this playoffs, Fins passed on Matt Ryan & Joe Flacco in '08. Andy Dalton & Colin Kaepernick in '11. Russel Wilson in '12. 1/2 the QBs
Colin Kaepernick took care of Aaron Rogers and Packers last week. Now it's Matt Ryan and Atlanta Falcons' turn. Lets watch and support Niners beating Falcons @ Ruchi Indian Cuisine while enjoying nice and yummy flavors of lunch buffet and draft beer (Fat tire or Coors light). Go Kaepernick and Niners !
Colin Kaepernick is going to make Matt Ryan look like Ryan Leaf
NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TIME! Here we go with my predictions: Much like every expert on every sports station, I'm taking the 49ers to put a pretty good beating on the Atlanta Falcons. I don't say this is a die-hard 49er fan, but all the logic points that way. Atlanta's defense is mediocre, their running game is mediocre, and their passing game is only good when Ryan can sit in the pocket. The 49ers have the best run-defense in the league with a top 3 pass rush. Matt Ryan will not be throwing comfortably. On the offensive side, the Falcons have struggled all year with mobile quarterbacks. Cam Newton torched them, and they gave up a 28 point lead to Russel Wilson and they now face Colin Kaepernick who's bigger, stronger, and faster than Wilson. In the AFC it's going to be a really close hard-hitting matchup. Logic tells me that the Patriots are going to win a close 3-7 point game, but I want the Baltimore Ravens to pull this off so we can have the Harbowl!
Chicago Sun-Times sports columnist Rick Morrissey's article on the Chicago Bears new coach wrote "The first thing he needs to do is stop treating Cutler as though he's something special. He isn't. If Gabe Carimi could protect Cutler the way Lovie Smith did, the Bears wouldn't have offensive-line problems. Cutler is a quarterback who should feel lucky he has a chance to prove more than what he has proved so far in Chicago. If they watched the playoffs last weekend, they have to know Cutler isn't in the same league as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Colin Kaepernick or even Joe Flacco. The Bears have invested a lot of money in Cutler, and I'm sure they're thinking that, at this point, they can't find anyone better. But he hasn't improved as a quarterback here. I'm worried that in hiring Trestman, Emery is giving in to the idea that the coach has to have a special relationship with Cutler; i.e., that he has to be sensitive to every one of Cutler's mood swings. That's the ...
The San Francisco 49ers think they have the dream answer with a new Mike Vick style Quarterback in Colin Kaepernick…. Instead the Atlanta Falcons now have our own Joe Montana style legend rising up with Matt Ryan aka “Matty Ice”! So Niners fans welcome to the Georgia Dome tomorrow, and please expect ICE!
49ers at FalconsLIVE Jan 20, 2013 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM 210 minutes KTXL 8 21 watching San Francisco at Atlanta. Last weekend, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick blasted Green Bay out of the playoffs, rushing for 181 yards and 2 TDs, and throwing for two more. Matt Ryan tossed 3 TD passes and rallied the Falcons to a last-minute win over Seattle.
Off the camera, Warren Sapp said that he liked the Alex Smith sandwich over the Eli Manning...so I'm sure he'll like the Colin Kaepernick* sandwich over the Matt Ryan* sandwich. There is not a Colin Kaepernick sandwich nor a Matt Ryan one.
On this beautiful day in Baltimore, I'm going to do some NFL weekend predictions. AFC Championship: Ravens 27, Patriots 17. Close game with a late score by Baltimore putting the game away. Bold Prediction: Big game for Paul Kruger. NFC Championship: 49ers 31, Falcons 13. Blowout of a game with Colin Kaepernick showing why he's considered a "wild card" in the San Fran offense. Bold Prediction: Falcons QB Matt Ryan throws 3 ints and the Falcons lose a fumble, and the game.
Last week, we saw what could have been, the greatest set of games in NFL Playoff History. Ravens would devastate Broncos fan with a huge win at Mile High. San Fransisco defeated the Packers thanks in part to Colin Kaepernick's legendary performance. The Falcons outlasted the Seahawks in what I thought was a miracle for that team. Finally Patriots defeated the Texans in a brawl for supremacy. Now that we have the divisional winners, it's time fo the Conference Championships with Super Bowl Implications of the line. Here are my picks and why I believe them to be true. 49ers vs Falcons at GeorgiaDome What can you say, the Falcons really shocked the world, after blowing several games, they defeated the team that in my mind was going to advance to the Super Bowl, the Seahawks. This week though, they take on a difficult challenge in the 49ers who defeated the Packers, which is no easy challenge. For this game though, I believe it will come down to Matt Ryan's ability in the clutch. So far in his young career ...
So tired of hearing all these bandwagon, all of a sudden 49ers fans. Especially in the media! All year they have scrutinized Colin Kaepernick, but as soon as he runs well against a banged up Packers defense, he's like God's gift in football. I call BS!!! He's been a different QB on the road. Matt Ryan is 34-6 at home all-time, only behind Tom Brady... being the underdogs just makes a win taste better...
This is my prediction for the AFC/ NFC Championship games: San Francisco over Atlanta 37-23 -Colin Kaepernick runs for over 100yds and 2 scores. He throws 25 of 37 for 314yds with 2TD passes and 0 interceptions. -Frank Gore rushes 22 times for 114yds and 1TD. -Matt Ryan throws 27 of 48 for 272yds with 2TD and 3INT. -Tony Gonzalez gets 10 receptions for 120yds. -The interceptions Matt Ryan throws will prove costly as the 49ers takes advantage of the turnovers. -The defense of the 49ers might start off well until the 4th Quarter where the Falcons tried to comeback with 10 points scored but was still too much for the Falcons to handle. Baltimore over New England 41-33 -Joe Flacco starts the game with a 40 yard hail & mary for a TD. -Joe Flacco ends the day with 27 of 41 for 350yds with 3TDs and 1INT. -Anquan Boldin catches a decisive TD and ends the day with 8 receptions for 137yds and 1TD. -Torrey Smith catches 5 passes for 90yds but was held without a score. -Ray Rice rushes 20 times for 90yds and 1 score. ...
"The Quest for 6" The 49ers have secured their second straight NFC championship position with a hard fought victory over the Greenbay Packers. The final score came to 45 to 31 49ers favor, with Colin Kaepernick throwing 17/31 for 263 yards and 2 passing TDs to Michael Crabtree and 2 rushing TDs for 181 rushing yards. Michael Crabtree not only caught the 2 TD passes but also caught 9 passes for 119 yards. Kaepernick was not the only one to rush, as Frank Gore rushed 119 yards for 1 TD. . Who's got it better than us? Well apparently the Atlanta Falcons do, as we'll be playing them in the NFC championship in 4 days. The Atlanta Falcons have had a good season, having a record of 13-3-0 to the 49ers 11-4-1. The 49ers key to winning this one is ( In my opinion ) is stopping the Falcon's passing game. Matt Ryan has thrown 4,719 passing yards this season. His rating is currently 99.1 However, he has been sacked 28 times, meaning their offensive line doesn't have what it takes against a good defense, and the 49ers ...
I know this is super nerdy but I wanted to do it. My Top 10 QB's of 2012. I am fully aware that most of you will disagree with me but that's cool. I'll still be your friend. 1. Peyton Manning - See's the field better than anybody. A coach/player 2.Tom Brady - I give Peyton the edge only because he is the OC an QB. 3. Aaron Rogers - Better pure passer than anybody but still makes mistakes. 4. Drew Brees - So so good but slowing down a tiny bit. 5. Russel Wilson - Brains/arm/feet and only a rookie! 6. Matt Ryan - Really talented but I want to see him do better under pressure. 7. Andrew Luck - No QB was asked to do more than this guy all year. 8. Robert Griffin III - Best hybrid QB but needs to know when to slow down. 9. Colin Kaepernick - He is gonna be really good. Arm still a little shaky. 10. Tony Romo - I don't care what anybody says. He covers up for all the crap the cowboys get wrong. If the cowboys had a lesser QB they would absolutely terrible. 1-4 you could put into any order really. I thin ...
One game is a rematch. The other might feel like one — at least to one of the teams. For the second straight year in the AFC, the New England Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. In the NFC, it will be San Francisco traveling to Atlanta, with the Falcons defense trying to stop a versatile, running quarterback for the second straight week. "Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick are mobile quarterbacks who throw the ball at extremely accurate levels," Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud said. "We can use this game as a cheat sheet to prepare for next week." On Sunday, the Falcons barely got past Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks, who overcame a 20-point deficit to take a one-point lead, but gave it up after Matt Ryan drove Atlanta into field goal range and Matt Bryant made a 49-yard kick with 8 seconds left. Atlanta is the only team not making a repeat appearance in the NFL's final four. Last year, it was the Giants playing, and beating, the 49ers for the NFC title. On S ...
Okay, this was brought up last night at work. Why? I don't know. I was asked if I could name 10 QBs that I think are better than Jay Cutler. I came up with 12. Here is how is worked out: Better than Cutler: Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger, Robert Griffin III, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Drew Bress, Josh Freeman, Andrew Luck, Matt Schaub, and Peyton Manning. About the same: Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Philip Rivers Cutler is better than: Christian Ponder, Brandon Weeden, Nick Foles, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Tannehill, Mark Sanchez, Jake Locker, Chad Henne, Kevin Kolb, Matt Cassel, Carson Palmer and Sam Bradford Again, this is just my opinion. Let the debate begin.
I'm sure Tom Brady is smiling right now knowing his road to the Super Bowl now consists of beating Joe Flacco and either Matt Ryan or Colin Kaepernick. Rodgers and Manning being knocked out gives the Patriots a huge edge going forward at the QB position.
Ray Lewis gets to play another game, spoiling an AFC Finals featuring two of the best QBs of this generation. Tom Brady showed the Texans how to win and close in the Playoffs. Matt Ryan finally wins a Playoff game, albeit a close one against the Seahawks. Niners ride second-year QB Colin Kaepernick to a win over Aaron Rodgers' Packers. Now it'll be another clash of icons as Brady looks to get past the inspired play of Baltimore, and on the other side, it'll be a clash of the new generation, with Keapernick and Ryan's team squaring off for the right to play in the Superbowl. NFL Conference Finals coming up! *** that these will be shown next Monday :/
It looks like it's going to be an interesting mix of quarterbacks playing on championship weekend this year. There will be: Tom Brady (the legend/future hall of famer), Matt Ryan (fringe of greatness/ looking to become elite), Joe Flacco (classic game manager), and Colin Kaepernick (young gun/ budding superstar).
"“Who wins more Super Bowls at the end of their career, Joe Flacco or Matt Ryan?” Colin Kaepernick."Jamarcus Russell
So the last rookie QB standing is the one who was drafted in the third round, with the 75th pick overall. Say what? I was laughed out the barber shop preseason when I said Russell Wilson would have the last laugh. And look at the postseason company he is keeping: The future Hall of Fame trio of Manning, the Patriots’ Tom Brady and Packers’ Aaron Rodgers; the Ravens’ Joe Flacco and Falcons’ Matt Ryan, first-round picks in 2008; as well as the Texans’ Matt Schaub and 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick, who entered the league as third- and second-round picks in 2004 and 2011. It's safe to say, NO ONE IS LAUGHING NOW!! Well.maybe I am just a little bit, LOL!
I'm going to give you two options in the NFC for each game in which each team will win, and you guys will choose which one you think will happen. Ok? Ok. Packers at 49ers: 49ers win: The stingy Niners defense gives Rodgers fits and sacks him a lot. Colin Kaepernick plays solid football rushing and passing picking up first downs, playing Alex Smith-esque football (except better) until a late big play ices the win for the Niners- SF- 20, GB-10 Packers win: The Packers force at least 3 Kaepernick turnovers, followed by an entire offseason of people questioning the Kaepernick decision, while Aaron Rodgers dominates on offense- GB- 31, SF-17 Falcons vs. Seahawks: Falcons W: Matt Ryan plays good football, racking up a bunch of yards and less than 2 turnovers while the Seattle cornerbacks shout on the sidelines, effectively making the Falcons fly under the radar with their win. Russel Wilson does not have a great game- ATL- 27, SEA- 17 Seattle W: Russel Wilson continues the dominance, the Falcons fold, and Marsh ...
I'm tired of this read option in the nfl. All that means is you don't have a quarterback that can throw the ball. It also means you have to rely off or play fakes and college plays to win. Look what happen to RG3. He got dominated, Joe Webb same thing. Well see with Kaepernick. (we all know it's the Niner D is what is the only thing legit). Anyway ale your pick. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck( who had 5 rushing touchdowns) Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan or RGIII, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, soon to be Geno Smith, Alex Smith?
Seattle over Atlanta...Matt Ryan threw 5 INTs n a game this year, im still stuck there... GB over San Fran...Colin Kaepernick's time has come to an end... Broncos over Ravens...no brainer, its Peyton... Patriots over Texans...simple bc Matt Schaub *** ..
Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady, Joe Flacco, Matt Schaub, Peyton Manning. These are the QB's still in the playoffs. Huge stage for RW3 to prove he belongs
NFC playoff quarterbacks: Matt Ryan, Colin Kaepernick, Aaron Rodgers, Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Christian Ponder. If GB slips up against SF, then this is Matt Ryan's to lose. Yes, I just picked the Atlanta Falcons to win the Super Bowl.
Hey Saints. RG3, Cam Newton, Matt Cassel, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning and Cam Newton again would all just like to say suck it this season! That game puts 2012 Saints as the official worst defense in NFL History. I'm a "hater", I know!
You make the call... Matt Ryan at Carolina or Colin Kaepernick vs Miami?
