By GLENN MINNIS XN Sports Even through all his self-inflicted setbacks and in the face of his NFL mortality, Michael Vick knows his worth. "I revolutionized the game," Vick told ESPN in no uncertain terms of his unmatched mobility. "I was the guy who started it all. I changed the way it was played in the NFL." Granted, Vick's level of modesty may need as much retooling as the offense he and Rex Ryan are painstakingly seeking to craft in New York, but the 11-year vet does speak the truth. Take your pick of Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III, and even Johnny Manziel and know that more than likely none of them would be without the evolution of one Michael Dwayne Vick. "The things I've done, I've pretty much surpassed myself and expectations," added Vick, with no apparent disrespect meant to the likes of Fran Tarkenton, Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair, and Steve Young. But in the end, the truth is the truth, no matter how brutal it may be. And being the all-time leading rusher f ...

HISTORY OF THE MADDEN CURSE Is the cover good news for Richard Sherman? The Seahawks corner also topped Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery in the first round of voting (73 percent-27 percent) and Saints tight end Jimmy Graham in the quarterfinals (75-35), before crushing 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the semifinals (65-35). Kaepernick probably didn't care about losing though because he's going to be the first player ever with tattoos in a Madden game. My rankings of the young QB's in the League: You can tell I like guys who can go through their progressions and have a more solid grasp of fundamentals over guys who are uber athletic, for the most part. Kaepernick is a big question for me because he hasn't shown me that he can dissect an NFL defense at all. The only 3 that I would want QBing my team, as of today, are the first 3. I'm excited to see how Bridgewater fairs under heavy fire. He has the mind. I'm wondering if he has the arm. 1.Andrew Luck 2.Russell Wilson 3.Nick Foles 4.Colin Kaepernick 5.Andy Dalton 6.Mike Glennon 7.Teddy Bridgewater 8.Robert Griffin III 9.Cam Newton 10.Ryan Tannehill 11.EJ Manuel 12.Johnny Manziel 13.Jake Locker 14.Blake Bortles 15.Geno Smith

How much is Tom Condon seeking for his client, Alex Smith? He has already landed Peyton Manning $18 Million a year, Drew Brees $18.4 Million a year, Tony Romo $17 Million a year, Matt Ryan $16.5 Million a year and will be negotiating hefty deals for Eli Manning and Matt Stafford, soon. Not long after Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco and Jay Cutler all with big deals and with other QBs working behind the scenes on extensions(Colin Kaepernick & Ben Roethlisberger) and others who will be needing dealt with over the next 12 months(Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III) just how much can we pay Smith? Any extension, as discussed in depth; will already cost us the services of Tamba Hali. A huge extension, more then likely chops Brandon Flowers or Dwayne Bowe off, also. SO, serious questions. Are we at a place where we can even make this deal? Will Alex stick with his QB brethren and increase the average pay for QBs or will he cut us a deal?

If San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, and South Carolina's DE Jadeveon Clowney raced each other in the 40-yard dash, who would win? Watch the video below and see for yourself, the results may surprise you.
Every NFL team that made the playoffs this year has a great quarterback. Peyton Manning is a great quarterback, Oliver Luck, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Colin Kaepernick, and all of the rest of them are all great quarterbacks. But the team that won the Super Bowl won because they had the best DEFENSE in the NFL. Therefore, I conclude that, while there are great (or potentially great) quarterbacks available in this years draft, if the Houston Texans do not get Jadeveon Clowney in this years draft and pair him up wit J. J. Watt, that will be the biggest mistake the have made since David Carr and Dom Capers!
For those of you that still listen to and read draft projections, save yourself some time. As QB Blaine Gabbert was traded to the 49ers for a 6th round pick yesterday, I am hilariously reminded of when the self-proclaimed "Draft Expert" Todd Mcshay said that Gabbert would without a doubt be the best quarterback in his draft class. That quarterback class included Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton, and Andy Dalton... All of which have started in playoff games... while the Jaguars are still picking in the top 5 perennially. People, stop listening to draft projections. Todd Mcshay and Mel Kiper know very little about football. When will the rest of America realize the point I've been trying to make for the past 7 years?

I grade how good are these QB's by "tiers" or "categories". For Example, I give a QB a 6 if they are elite, 5 if they are very good, 4 if they are good, 3 if they are average, 2 if they are below average, and 1 if they are bad. Here is my opinion on top QB's. What is your ratings based on these QB's? 6- Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees 5- Ben Rothliesberger, Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, Nick Foles, Matt Ryan 4- Ryan Tannehill, Alex Smith, Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson 3- Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III, Matthew Stafford, Mike Glennon, Colin Kaepernick, Carson Palmer 2- Bills QB's (Manuel, Lewis), Titans QB's (Locker, Fitzpatrick), Rams QB's (Bradford, Clemens), Raiders QB's (Pryor, McGloin) 1- Geno Smith, Chad Henne, Browns QB's (Weeden, Campbell), Vikings QB's (Ponder, Cassel, Freeman) I would put Kirk Cousins, Matt Flynn, Josh Mccown, Michael Vick, and Brian Hoyer somewhere in this system but they have not played enough games to earn a spec ...

Michael Sam has become the first openly *** NFL prospect. Congrats to him. Deion Sanders said that he is not the 1st *** player in the NFL. He is the only one to come out in the open. I remember some ppl at ESPN was saying RGIII, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, and/or Colin Kaepernick would win a SB before Russell Wilson. I wonder what thery're thinking right now?
Russell Wilson winning this Super Bowl only in his 2nd year puts a lot of pressure on Andrew Luck, RGIII, Colin Kaepernick, and especially Cam Newton
Congrats you won a before RG3, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Nick Foles and Colin Kaepernick. Humble calf drink the most milk.
There will be more focus on Peyton losing than Seattle winning and as usual, he will shoulder the entire burden bc he is friggin' awesome. On the flip side, if the future of football is classy Russell Wilson rather than icky Colin Kaepernick or cheater Cam Newton, that's pretty great.
Love the way Russel Wilson plays and CARRIES himself! Compare that to other young QBs like RG Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick!
With all due respect for Colin Kaepernick, RGIII, Cam Newton et al, but Russell Wilson is proof of the old saying "It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man."
What is worst, watching the Super Bowl from the couch? (Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan or that other guy from New Orleans) Or playing in the Super Bowl and getting beat 43-8 while looking like Tony Romo?

HERE YA GO: Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III, Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick have all completed more passes than Foles has attempted, yet Foles has thrown for more touchdowns than each of those quarterbacks.-BIG MIKE-
All I have heard this season is how Colin Kaepernick would be a one year wonder. First of all yeah how they did my cousin Alex Smith was wrong. Yeah his numbers are down and just because he didn't rattle off the long runs and all the "Kaepernicking" isn't going on he is automatically a bum right? Well chew on this. Colin Kaepernick was a Senior Bowl standout in 2011 and his Nevada Wolfpack were the first team to give the BCS red headed step child, Boise State their first lose in four years and stealing the WAC Title out of their hands. In the same year he was drafted in the second round which many thought the move was a steal for the 49ers. In that same draft five quarterbacks were picked in front of him (In chronological order: Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder, and Andy Dalton. Ben Roethlisberger (the rings won't carry you too much further) 7. Matt Ryan (tough year, but body of work) 8. Eli Manning (rings is all you can say) 9. Phillip Rivers (big bounce back year, last two an anomaly) 10. Russell Wilson (want to put him higher but I can't) 11. Matt Stafford (still turns it over too much to be higher) 12. Cam Newton ( a lot left to prove, but great start to career) 13. Andrew Luck (a lot of talent, just hasn't quite put it all together) 14. Robert Griffin III (one of the best seasons from a rookie you'll ever see unhealthy) 15. Joe Flacco (one great great run lol) 16. as a 49ers fan I'd rather have Cam Newton than Colin Kaepernick.
Did you know that Russell Wilson has been sacked more times, but has a better passer rating than Tom Brady, Andy Dalton, Alex Smith, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer, Andrew Luck, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Colin Kaepernick, RG3, Jay Cutler and Matt Stafford? :)
The 49ers fell to the Saints, losing by only a field goal. The Carolina Panthers defense in many ways is like that of the 49ers'. Applying pressure with an aggressive 4 man rush and disguised blitzing schemes can create problems for Saints. Panthers are a stingy defense and playing very well up front and back. Carolina Panthers offense owns a much more balanced offense and does a great job mixing up the plays. Cam Newton, DeAngelo Williams, Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart combine for an intimidating back field that should be respected. Mixing in the option could give the Saints defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan a major headache. Cam Newton is going through his progressions, making his reads from sideline to sideline. Newton should be able find more targets than Colin Kaepernick did against Ryan's defense. The Saints are now 8-2 ahead of the Carolina Panthers, who'll have a a chance to showcase themselves Monday night against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. BlackPANTHER...
"Foles, who has only 136 passing attempts on the season - about half as many as guys like Russell Wilson (257), Aaron Rodgers (251), and Jay Cutler (265) - but has amassed 16 touchdowns, with 10 coming in the last two games. That's more than Rodgers (15), Andrew Luck (14), Tom Brady (13), Cam Newton (13), Colin Kaepernick (9), Joe Flacco (12), Eli Manning (11), and Robert Griffin III (12), just to name a few." Whatever your thoughts on him are, give the *** kid the rest of the season to win himself a job.
5. Times Change, Things Change and Back to the Norm Undoubtedly, the landscape of quarterback play has changed dramatically in the National Football League. Gone are the days of a gunslinger that hangs out in the pocket all day and chucks the ball down field. Today’s league features guys who not only can throw it, but also use their legs to make plays and dazzle fans. Today’s game out in the Bay Area showcases two guys who fit the mold of dazzling and quick on their feet. Panthers QB Cam Newton and 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick square off for the first time in their careers. Newton and the Panthers are on a four game winning streak, scoring 30 or more points in each of those games. Newton is the focal point of defenses on a weekly basis and especially when he is out of the pocket, ranking sixth among QBs in rushing with 251 yards. Kaepernick and the 49ers are on a five game winning streak, also scoring 30 points or more in each of those wins, including 42 in their win over Jacksonville two weeks ago. The ...

I just have to say that Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless are the biggest *** on TV. They continue to not give Cam Newton his props, even though he has met their expectations, which is to just win! They said that he should not be included in the discussion of best young quarterback, with the likes of Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson. Cam set the bar for most of the young quarterbacks on that list. Cam has the highest QBR in football. He has 4 wins. He is the only football player in history to throw for over 50 touchdowns and run for 25 within 3 seasons. I could go on, but I won't. The Panthers need to make the playoffs and then watch these two goofballs jump on the bandwagon! Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless can kick rocks!
Another one. All things equal. Same coaches and team. Who do you pick. Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, or Colin Kaepernick?
I don't like how quickly people turn on QB's in the league. It's so up and down and I'm tired of it. For example: QB's who are currently "Bad": Eli Manning, Big Ben, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Schaub, Cam Newton, RGIII (Who was considered God last year) QB's who are currently "Good": Phillip Rivers, Ryan Tannehill, Alex Smith (Who is nothing but a game manager) Sorry, I'm just tired of the back and forth. Quit judging QB's off of one season.
...and Cam Newton, and Matthew Stafford, and Michael Vick (but he got injured), and Matt Schaub, and Colin Kaepernick, and Tom Brady...
Terrelle Pryor at half already has more Fantasy points (17) than Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady
Colin Kaepernick, you are killing me slowly and without mercy. You were so promising. You went to the Super Bowl and now you hand me 4 points for the week Four points? If I were your pimp I'd.o! Save me Peyton Manning! Or Cam Newton! Or any OTHER QB with points over 10. Shoot, I'd even take.Jay Cutler...Geno (ugh) Smith or eeep... Eli Manning. Yes, I'm spiraling out of control.

Ouch... that's all that needs to be said.   Week 3 Performance: 6-10 Overall Record: 27-21 Correct Picks: Miami, Denver, Dallas, New England, New Orleans, Seattle Fantasy Football: Despite benching Cam Newton and Cincinnati, I somehow win my week by 6 points, mainly thanks to wide receivers Calvin Johnson and Cecil Shorts and running back Joique Bell, so right now I sit at 1-2. Suicide League: I took the Broncos in Week 3, so I'm still in.  Cleveland eliminated nearly 20 people last week though.  I might go with the Chiefs this week.   What I learned in Week 3... - The Panthers have finally woke up.  Now let's hope that they don't go back to sleep during their bye week. - Colin Kaepernick has officially become Colin Krapernick.  Something tells me things are only going to get worse for the Niners, especially since being in the same division as the Seahawks. - "I didn't know we got two bye weeks this season" said Russell Wilson after playing Jacksonville - Detroit finally gets the win in Washington a ...
So, since the biggest argument against Cam Newton being considered "one of the top young quarterbacks in the league" with this "anointed" group of RG3, Andrew Luck, Colin Kaepernick, and Russell Wilson has been that he doesn't win enough, can he take Kaepernick and RG3's spots now that they aren't winning?
Mark Swisha Nicacio this the nfl power rankings 1(2) Seattle 2-0-0 The Seahawks have allowed a league-low 10 points this season against offenses led by Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick. Hosting the Jaguars Sunday might get ugly. 2(3) Denver 2-0-0 Denver's plus-40 point differential is tops in the league after convincing wins against the Ravens and Giants. The way the Broncos have played, hosting the Raiders Monday night doesn't seem scary. 3(1) San Francisco 1-1-0 Colin Kaepernick was 4-for-9 with two interceptions targeting Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis on Sunday. Boldin's first catch didn't come until 9:45 in the fourth quarter. 4(6) Houston 2-0-0 Ben Tate has picked up the pace. Tate had his sixth-career 100-yard game Sunday, and the Texans' 5.2 yards per rush average ranks second, even without Arian Foster in peak form. 5(7) Green Bay 1-1-0 Packers wide receivers have had 37 catches without a drop this season. Green Bay receivers had 21 drops last year, fourth most in the league. 6(4) Atlanta 1-1-0 Ju ...
Who is a better QB Russell Wilson, RGIII, Cam Newton, or Colin Kaepernick.
I am getting tired of hearing about the “read option” fetish every NFL fan or commentator currently seems to exhibit. I realize it is a short sample size but there are 8 undefeated teams in the NFL right now. Check out what seven of those eight teams have in common at the quarterback position, a traditional NFL quarterback. Meanwhile Geno Smith, Terrell Pryor, Michael Vick, RG III, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick are a combined 6-9. Just like the run n’ shoot or the wildcat defenses are well on their way to figuring out the read option and now real quarterbacks can get back to doing what they do best in the NFL, winning not running.
The Kansas City Chiefs might challenge the Seattle Seahawks for best defense There is no question that the Seattle Seahawks have the best defense in football through two weeks after holding Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick to a combined ten total points. Their secondary is the best in the league and unless they suffer some injuries they seem like a shoe-in for first overall defense in the NFL. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t have challengers. The Kansas City Chiefs, a defense that fielded five Pro Bowlers last year, looks stronger than ever. After allowing no points against Jacksonville in the opener, they held the Dallas Cowboys and Tony Romo to just 16. The biggest and most telling surprise of all is the rise of Dontari Poe, who has shed his draft bust label by collecting 3.5 sacks through two games, two of them on Romo. If this keeps up, Kansas City could become a dangerous team down the stretch.
The ridiculousness of Week 1 is at an end. To be honest, we have no idea who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. If the season was over last week. Colin Kaepernick and Peyton Manning would be co-MVPs, Eagles would make the playoffs, Steelers are done, and the Jets would win 8 games. See? Well, the MVPs might not be outlandish. A bit rocky...went 10-6. Thanks, Bucs and Browns. Enough talk! Time for Week 2: Turner's RED ZONE Picks! 1-0 (Pats) Browns @ Ravens: Ah, Old vs New. but it shall be close thanks to Ray Horton's 3-4 Browns D BUT it's at Baltimore and they are angry. RAVENS. Panthers @ Bills: Cam Newton is the equivalent of Superman IV, EJ Manuel showed that he looks good in a cape, R. Wilson will pass it on to the FSU grad. BILLS. Titans @ Texans: Back to Houston and great memories of Astrodome, Bum Philipps. However, Texans now own Houston. Same with this game. WATT and TEXANS. Dolphins @ Colts: Andrew Luck proved that he's a true leader winning a hard fought game even though sacked 4 tim ...

Better franchise qb to build around? Cam Newton or Colin Kaepernick?-RISEUP!
Who would you rather have: Colin Kaepernick or Cam Newton?- David
Ok Tebow isn't a "bust" I guess just used wrong. Anyway. Which would you choose among these duel threat QB's A.Cam Newton B.RG 3 C.Colin Kaepernick. My choice is Cam. Dude is a freak of nature, and more durable than RG3. -Nathan
Phillip Rivers as a "middle class" quarterback -- Ann By Tom Krasovic The NFL's collective bargaining agreement isn't a friend to Philip Rivers and other quarterbacks of his ilk. Teams that can win with a young quarterback, I wrote on April 1, will reap gigantic value under this CBA. Here's an excerpt: "Because the NFL labor pact reached in 2011 slashed the salaries that players can make in their first several seasons, teams that acquired worthy quarterbacks from the classes of 2011-12 are able to better reward other players. It's only one reason, but a compelling one, to be bullish on the Colts (Andrew Luck), Seahawks (Russell Wilson), 49ers (Colin Kaepernick), Dolphins (Ryan Tanehill), Redskins (Robert Griffin III) and Panthers (Cam Newton)." Rivers this year will consume 13.9 percent of San Diego's salary cap. While the number should dip in 2014, the lowered salary floor for incoming passers raises questions about how the industry will value the veterans with big salaries, especially in a "flat cap" e ...
Andy Dalton, Alex Smith, Cam Newton, RGIII, Sam Bradford and Colin Kaepernick. Sorry for bringing logic to this discussion.
Daryl Washington first three games back vs Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson.
I believe in Colin Kaepernick but what if he has a down year like Cam Newton had last year? How would they address paying him?
Being a QB in this draft has to be rough. Wilson, Luck, and Griffin set the bar super high. Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, & Colin Kaepernick too.
Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, RG III and Russell Wilson are everything we wanted Michael Vick to be ...
Fun Fact: Tom Brady, Jacob Tyler, Colin Kaepernick, Max Martin, Aaron Rodgers, Tim Tebow, and Cam Newton are the only active QB to get 1 INT
RG3, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick... Super athletic qbs are taking over
Which QB will have the better season Cam Newton or Colin Kaepernick of the 2011 draft/Russell Wilson or RG3 of the 2012 draft
If one of these 3 are available for the Jets (9), we'll be ok... Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia Concerns over Jones' spinal stenosis threaten his stock, potentially leading to a draft slot that fails to match his freakish talent and production. However, the fact that he was the most dominant defender in college football's top conference should keep Jones near the top of most draft boards. Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama Milliner silenced critics who questioned his top-end speed with a blazing 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the combine. Although his back-pedal still needs some work, the game tape suggests Milliner is a top-notch cover man with a polished overall game. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia Smith is a classic pocket passer, but a strong combine performance in Indianapolis also showcased his underrated athleticism. With times and measurements comparable to Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick, scouts certainly will take a closer look at Smith to see if he has the capacity to execute some of the popular movement-based ...
Nice, nice. I think Colin Kaepernick, RG3, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and Andrew Luck will be there one day, though.
Tuesday Tribune: The NFL started the day, with 2011 Totally Certified NFL packs selling well. 2011 Totally certified NFL packs have 1 "hit" per pack {either an autograph or a relic}, the main 2 rookie stars that are found in these packs are Cam Newton {QB- Carolina Panthers} and Colin Kaepernick {QB- San Francisco}. The NHL got plenty of "ice time", as Montreal Canadiens- Patrick Roy/ Gut Lafleur/ Henri Richard/ Guy Carbonneau/ Larry Robinson were top selling hockey stars. Other NHL star cards of major interest today were Hall of Famers- Mark Messier and Ray Bourque. Fresh NFL 2012 boxes and 2013 baseball boxes arrive later this week. j
Watch out white quarterbacks you guys are starting to become dinosaurs in the NFL, thanks to Michael Vick, Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin, Russell Wilson, and my favorite Cam Newton.
Watching the NFL Combine & I am throwing my hat into the ring, giving my 2 cents worth on on the Bill's QB / draft situation...I KNOW am going against the grain here.. I think the Bills need to draft defense first, foremost, & often. Free agency, trades, the works... I think we could have been 10 and 6, have been competitive in most games for whatever it's worth if we weren't a sieve.. LB's and DB's this year please thank you! Please do not reach for a QB over a more talented defensive player! There does not seem to be a franchise QB out there. I'd love to see a new QB here.. I wish there was an RG-III, Cam Newton or Colin Kaepernick available who can run and throw, they are exciting & seem to be the future.. But there's not one out there or so the experts say .. Personally, I think if a QB's skill set includes good feet, quick release, decent accuracy and pocket intelligence, he does not have to be a great runner and I bet he will stay healthier. Michael Vick is always hurt, and RG- III may not be read . ...
Apparently I look like Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick -__-
"He was been working on his throwing fundamentals in San Diego with quarterback guru George Whitfield, whose recent clients includes Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Col...
If your fantasy football draft were tomorrow, would you draft Cam Newton, RGIII or Colin Kaepernick as your first QB?
Not by a huge margin, but Cam Newton out of Auburn would have been my No. 1 QB in this class. Colin Kaepernick would have been too.

Ice Cube aint the only five percenter, he got company because I'm joining him with my vote of which quarterback would you want for the next ten years? Cam Newton is still my choice along with rest of the 5%'ers! I'm not sheepish ESPN fed brainwashed fan with 50% voting for Andrew Luck, or new flavor of the month literally with Colin Kaepernick, AP Offense Rookie of the Year in RG3, or Seattle Sensationalist Russell Wilson. People forget Cam Newton made Gene Chizik large! LOL!
50% of the nation wants Andrew Luck to be their QB for the next 10 years over RGIII, Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton and Russell Wilson? lol no
Russell Wilson..a list of QB's he's beaten in the regular season...Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick and RG3...and still he didnt win ROY Award...
Michael Vick, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick. They all had the big NFL buzz and did nothing with it. Vick and Cam didn't have a great team around them. Tebow was all hype. And Kaep didn't take us to the Superbowl. He didn't have any more TDs than smith had in the post season last year and he had a whole extra game to do it. One man loses his job cause another has a higher ceiling. It's lookin about the same right now.
You know one thing though, Colin Kaepernick is better than RG3, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Sam Bradford, and many other QBs
Can't beat the refs and ravens. After an ugly pass from 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to receiver Randy Moss floated into the hands of Ravens safety Ed Reed for the first interception ever thrown by a 49ers quarterback in any Super Bowl, chippiness that had been building all game erupted into a melee. Along the way, Ravens cornerback Cary Williams made contact with an official, via a two-handed shove. After the officials sorted it out, Williams was neither flagged nor ejected. Instead, referee Jerome Boger called offsetting unnecessary roughness fouls on 49ers tackle Joe Staley and Ravens cornerback Corey Graham. Coincidentally, it was Boger who failed to eject Panthers quarterback Cam Newton after Newton made contact with Boger during a regular-season game. At the time, former NFL official and officiating supervisor Jim Daopoulos walked me through the relevant portions of the rule book and case book. There is no discretion; contact with an official should always result in an ejection. So the Raven . ...
Just read an article on how Colin Kaepernick is the most dangerous QB in football. Have people forgot that QB's like RGIII, Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Eli and Payton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck and *** even Cam Newton are in the league? Kaep is a good player, but before we crown this dude let's not forget that SF was a fumble away form the SB last season. Some of the QB's I mentioned took non-playoff teams to the playoffs and Wilson was 30 seconds away from the championship game.
It's crazy to think how players come straight into the NFL and produce results. Just goes to show how important picks are. Sitting here thinking, in just 2 yrs alone, the NFL has seen the likes of Anderew Luck, RGIII, Russel Wilson, JJ Watt, Colin Kaepernick, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Von Miller, Bruce Carter, Aldon Smith, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Demarco Murray, Torrey Smith, and Mikel Leshoure just to name a few. Wow
Greeny brought up a good question this morning: You're building an NFL franchise, which of the following QBs under the age of 25 would you build around? Andrew Luck, RG III, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, or Colin Kaepernick?
I thought some Cowboys fans were HILARIOUS, dillusional and psychotic. But this one 49ers fan has them all a long shot. How dare someone say Colin Kaepernick is better than Cam Newton, Russell Wilson and RG3. Blasphemy!
The last few years, especially this year, we've seen a huge evolution of the Quarter Back. This new breed includes young stars such as Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III, and Russell Wilson. These guys are all strong runners, and on top of that, top notch (spelling?) throwers. All have had success running the Zone Read Option, and in Kaepernick's and Griffin's cases, the Pistol Formation. Do you think that this new breed of Quarter Back will last? Or is this just a gimmick offense/QB that won't last? -The Rock
Packers scouts looking for speed on the pass rush and containment of read-option QB's like Russel Wilson, Cam Newton, RGIII and the cover of Sports Illustrated, league MVP? 49ers' Colin Kaepernick. 2013 is on it's way. The Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh Bowl is in just 10 days. Packer Maniacs
Deal or no deal... Tony Romo for Colin Kaepernick and two 1st round draft picks... Deal or no deal??? -LG
With the success of quarterbacks in the NFL like Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson and Cam Newton, why wouldn't someone take a look at former Mizzou quarterback Brad Smith as their next quarterback? Dude can run, throw and is extremely smart.
Assuming all players are HEALTHY for the start of next season, rate from 1st (you want the most) to 5th (who you lest want) to be your fantasy quarterback. these are your options Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, RG3, Colin Kaepernick, or Russel Wilson Mine are 1. Newton 2. Luck 3. RG3 4. Kaepernick 5. Wilson Your order?-marc
Now that the first quarterback from the 2011 draft class has reached the Super Bowl.Question: If you were the Carolina Panthers two seasons ago and you were drafting 1st overall would you still take Cam Newton, or would you take Colin Kaepernick, or even Andy Dalton? And to all Vikings fans, Colin Kaepernick was taken with the 36th overall pick, and Andy Dalton was taken one pick earlier as the 35th how do you feel now about your team taking Christian Ponder 23 and 24 picks earlier in round 1?
If Todd Mcshay and Mel Kiper knew what Colin Kaepernick could do he would've been the quarterback picked right after Cam Newton
Who do you take if you can choose between Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, & Russell Wilson?
Cam Newton's Mom just left me for Colin Kaepernick.
QB's that are immobile are soon to be an endangered species thanks to Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, & RGIII
NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TIME! Here we go with my predictions: Much like every expert on every sports station, I'm taking the 49ers to put a pretty good beating on the Atlanta Falcons. I don't say this is a die-hard 49er fan, but all the logic points that way. Atlanta's defense is mediocre, their running game is mediocre, and their passing game is only good when Ryan can sit in the pocket. The 49ers have the best run-defense in the league with a top 3 pass rush. Matt Ryan will not be throwing comfortably. On the offensive side, the Falcons have struggled all year with mobile quarterbacks. Cam Newton torched them, and they gave up a 28 point lead to Russel Wilson and they now face Colin Kaepernick who's bigger, stronger, and faster than Wilson. In the AFC it's going to be a really close hard-hitting matchup. Logic tells me that the Patriots are going to win a close 3-7 point game, but I want the Baltimore Ravens to pull this off so we can have the Harbowl!
My thoughts, the NFL, government and more: Colin Kaepernick is the hot ticket in the NFL, his speed, size hard throwing motion. Ever stop to think Russel Wilson, Robert Griffin third, Cam Newton, now Colin(nothing personal against these guys). Tim Tebow excellent athlete, won tons in college, drafted in the first round, got the Broncos further than Manning. Everyone says he has a long bad throwing motion, Colin’s motion in long, ala Tebow. Robert third has a gimmick college offense. Did Tim get a fair chance, I can’t be certain but I think I know why. He openly believes in values and God (not saying the others don’t but Tim is open about it…in a world that doesn’t want values that is why he isn’t a hot commodity). People planning gun rallies in offense of Obama, I’m not a fan of Obama but what is the problem about background and mental checks on people who want guns? Stop selling assault weapons (again what’s the harm?) Everyone got so worked up about the Aurora tragedy and school ...
Falcons CB Dunta Robinson says 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is most like Panthers QB Cam Newton, "only faster."
Has the apparent excitement in NFL that use their legs, changed the way the game will be played? Do you like this style? (Johnny Fooball, Cam Newton, RG 3, Braxton Miller, Dennard Robinson, Colin Kaepernick)
Okay, this was brought up last night at work. Why? I don't know. I was asked if I could name 10 QBs that I think are better than Jay Cutler. I came up with 12. Here is how is worked out: Better than Cutler: Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger, Robert Griffin III, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Drew Bress, Josh Freeman, Andrew Luck, Matt Schaub, and Peyton Manning. About the same: Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Philip Rivers Cutler is better than: Christian Ponder, Brandon Weeden, Nick Foles, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Tannehill, Mark Sanchez, Jake Locker, Chad Henne, Kevin Kolb, Matt Cassel, Carson Palmer and Sam Bradford Again, this is just my opinion. Let the debate begin.
I'm tired of this read option in the nfl. All that means is you don't have a quarterback that can throw the ball. It also means you have to rely off or play fakes and college plays to win. Look what happen to RG3. He got dominated, Joe Webb same thing. Well see with Kaepernick. (we all know it's the Niner D is what is the only thing legit). Anyway ale your pick. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck( who had 5 rushing touchdowns) Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan or RGIII, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, soon to be Geno Smith, Alex Smith?
Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick Are FBS QBs With 20 TDs Rushing, Passing ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M has become the fourth FBS quarterback with 20 touchdowns passing and 20 touchdowns rushing in the same season. Manziel got his school-record 20th rushing touchdown on the Aggies' opening drive of the Cotton Bowl on Friday night against Oklahoma, when he tiptoed 23 yards down the sideline. He added a 5-yard TD run before halftime. The first freshman to win the Heisman, Manziel also has 24 passing TDs. The other 20-20 quarterbacks were Auburn's Cam Newton and Florida's Tim Tebow, who like Manziel are Heisman winners from the SEC, and Nevada's Colin Kaepernick. Three other A&M players had 19 rushing TDs in a season, the last Jorvorskie Lane in 2006.
Hey Saints. RG3, Cam Newton, Matt Cassel, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning and Cam Newton again would all just like to say suck it this season! That game puts 2012 Saints as the official worst defense in NFL History. I'm a "hater", I know!
There has been a huge youth movement in the past couple NFL seasons. Here are the current starting QBs with 3 seasons or less in NFL experience (not including this season), thier age will be in parenthesis Robert Griffin III (22) Russell Wilson (24) Andy Dalton (25) Cam Newton (23) Josh Freeman (24) currently in his 4th season Sam Bradford (25) Matt Stafford (24) currently in his 4th season Christian Ponder (24) Nick Foles (23) Blaine Gabbert (23) he was starting until getting hurt Jake Locker (24) Ryan Tannehill (24) Andrew Luck (23) Brandon Weeden (29) Mark Sanchez (26) currently in his 4th season, was starter until getting benched the previous week Greg McElroy (24) new Jets starter Colin Kaepernick (25) Ryan Lindley (23)
Terrelle Pryor says, don't compare him to Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton or Robert Griffin III just yet. "I haven't proved anything."
Which young, mobile QB has the best chance of becoming an elite QB: Colin Kaepernick, RGIII, or Cam Newton??- David
The Texas Elite Football Academy is eight weekends of off-season training similar to what Brian Urlacher, Jay Ratliff, Michael Brockers, Cam Newton, Champ Bailey, Colin Kaepernick, Jared Allen and many other pros have experienced at CES Performance - the home of TEFA.
I think I'll watch MNF. Cam Newton is nice to look at but I have got to stop paying attention to him and Colin Kaepernick, who are young enough to be my sons.
My team has Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, and Russell Wilson. I can't get enough of the option!
Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Brandon Weedon, Ryan Tannehill, and now Colin Kaepernick--10 QB's in their 1st or 2nd year that all look promising--at least more than the Jags sophomore, Blaine Gabbert. At least Nick Foles looked terrible for the Eagles, or it would be 11.
