On Tuesday, November 11, 2014 (also known as Veterans Day), Franchisee Doc Wilhelm and his team at IHOP in Warrenton, Virginia created a "Table of Honor" to remember fallen veterans from each of the four military branches. They also placed a flyer on every table, providing guests with information about the Table: Table of Honor Honored guests, as you entered the dining area, you may have noticed a table centered in our dining area, raised to call your attention to its purpose -- it is reserved to honor our missing loved ones and comrades in arms. Set for five, the empty places represent Americans still missing from each of the five services -- Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard. This Honors Table symbolizes that they are with us here, in spirit. Some of our honored guests today were very young when they were sent into combat; however, all Americans should never forget the brave men and women who answered our nation's call to serve and served the cause of freedom in a special way. US Navy Secretary To Visit Marshalls MAJURO, Marshall Islands (Marianas Variety, Jan. 27, 2014) — The United States secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, will visit Majuro later this week, the highest-ranking Defense Department official to visit Majuro in several years. He is scheduled to meet Marshall Islands President Christopher Loeak on Thursday and tour the nation’s sea patrol surveillance headquarters before departing for Kwajalein where he will stay overnight at the U.S. Army’s Reagan Test Site. From his Washington, D.C. base, Mabus oversees the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. Although neither have a presence in the Marshall Islands, the Navy operates the annual Pacific partnership mission that brings health services, civil construction teams, and donations to multiple Pacific islands — including the Marshall Islands, which was part of the Navy’s tour in 2013. Sea Cadets are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with the Sea Cadet Corps insignia. The objectives of the Sea Cadet program are to introduce youth to naval life, to develop in them a sense of pride, patriotism, courage, and self-reliance, and to maintain an environment free of drugs and gangs. Sea Cadet Units Cadets meet or "drill" at their local unit weekly or monthly through out the year. A unit is structured along military lines and is headed by a Commanding Officer. Units may drill on military bases, at reserve centers, local schools, or community centers. Sea Cadet units are organized as either divisions, squadrons, or battalions. Divisions closely reflect the surface Navy, while squadrons are geared toward the field of naval aviat ...
This was written by some friends of mine. Aloha Van Family & Friends, Today I received the below message from a very close retired Marine friend -- (thanks David). His comments are intellectually astute, & his questions are more than sensibly momentous, particularly at this specific troubled point in our problematic time. I concur with his worldly concerns & historical facts; & even more so for seeking 'ESSENTIAL' answers to his inquiries to all LEFT leaning men & women. I would add in a broader sense that the U.S. military should NEVER again become involved in ANY military combat action(s) where the Executive or Legislative branches, et al, direct military strategy to the generals &/or admirals of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy. The Congress & the President should provide ONLY the authority to plan, prepare, & then decisively take action(s) WITHOUT interference or ROE's! 'IF', (GOD FORBID), WE (the U.S.A.) are ever forced to enter into another war, 'conflict', or 'police actio .. ...

Coast Guard Guadalcanal hero laid to rest LAKEWOOD, WA – Retired U.S. Coast Guard Cmdr. Ray Evans, 92, was laid to rest June 5, with full military honors. Evans was the final Coast Guard survivor of a dramatic rescue of a group of Marines pinned down by machine gun fire during the Guadalcanal Campaign, September 1942 where he earned the Navy Cross. Among those who attended the memorial service was his wife of more than 70 years Dorothy, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Coast Guard Vice-Commandant Vice Adm. John Currier. Members of the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor performed a three-volley salute at the funeral signifying the bond Evans and the Marine Corps have shared since the darkest days of World War II. Evans joined the Coast Guard alongside Medal of Honor recipient Douglas Munro in September 1939. “(I) Came out of high school and looked for a job all summer in 1939 and it was a very poor time for jobs and went to the Coast Guard and they said they had not ta ...
From "American Minute" for May 19th: Army Day, Navy Day and Air Force Day were combined in 1949 to be Armed Forces Day, celebrated the 3RD SATURDAY IN MAY. Army Day formerly was the date the US entered World War I. Navy Day was President Theodore Roosevelt's birthday. Air Force Day was the day the War Department established a division of aeronautics. President Richard Nixon remarked on Armed Forces Day, MAY 19, 1973, at Norfolk Naval Base: “Men and women who wear the uniform of our country are supposed to salute the Commander in Chief...but on this day, I, as your Commander in Chief, salute you, each and every American who serves in our Army, our Navy, our Air Force, our Marine Corps, and our Coast Guard. Your courage, your steadfastness are the backbone of America's influence for peace around the world... If someone posts, or tags me, that I served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps or the Coast Guard when I did not, I will not falsely state that I did because that's lying. There's too much lying or falsehoods out there already by our own government (Federal, state and local), by other people claiming to be something they're not, and my own experience has taught me the hard way that falsehoods are eventually exposed anyway! And I know too many people who know me personally! Therefore, I don't need falsehoods to impress people! Those days are long gone! The only One I try to please is the LORD, Who already sees what's inside of my heart and soul! Enuff said!!

One day the tower received a call from an aircraft asking, "What time is it?" The tower responded, "Who is calling?" The aircraft replied, "What difference does it make?" The tower replied, "It makes a lot of difference... If it is a commercial flight, it is 3 o'clock. If it is an Army aircraft, it is 1500 hours. If it is a Navy or Coast Guard aircraft, it is 6 bells. The number of Army suicides in July was twice the number of troops killed in Afghanistan this month, and if soldiers continue to take their lives at the current rate, the Army will lose about 200 active-duty troops in 2012, a figure significantly higher than any year in the past decade. Suicide rates in other Military Services aren't looking much better with both Marine Corps and Coast Guard suicide rates already above those reported in 2011. Read more at

Got mail from the Navy and the Marine Corps. Still waiting on mail from the Airforce, Army ,and Coast Guard.
So i almost lost my life today, but i owe still being alive to the Marine Corps for the constant training and being able to keep a cool head in crazy situations. I took my brother and some friends from work out off the coast fishing in my boat (SLAB), after only being out there for a few hours we started heavily taking on water. there was so much water in the boat it wouldnt start so we called 911/Coast Guard. We were scooping water out w/ buckets and anything we could find, after gettting the water under control a friend miraculously got the boat started. we flagged down another boat who tried to tow us but the rope kept slipping but we were able to have him escort us into the channel. from there we were able to move under our own power back to the dock were we put in.

Saturday, November 5, 2011 Occupy Wall Street Defense Force Mission Statement Once again, the struggle is on a high tide with the rise of the Occupy Wall Street movement. From experience, from a revolutionary perspective, as one with 45 years experience as a national organizer for the Black Panther Party, I see a weakness in the Occupy movement in that the protesters are not able to defend themselves and their First Amendment rights. I advocate that we take the Occupy movement struggle to a higher level and pick up arms in self defense. We must exercise our Second Amendment rights to in order to protect our First Amendment rights. Realizing that all will not choose this strong stance, I make a plea to U.S. Veterans of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, to participate in the Civil Defense Force. I issue an invitation to those veterans to join me in the fight for freedom at home, not abroad, for your families, your loved ones, and the American people's Constitutional ...
