Lol ... Remember him? Shaquille O'Neal - former LA Lakers player who starred in select movies too - Steel (1997), Kazaam (1996), Blue Chips (1994). Shaquille O'Neal is regarded as one of the most dominant athletes and arguably the most gregarious personality in sports history. He wrote an autobiography (Shaq Talks Back), preserves an online presence for his fan base and produced a number of albums (Biological Didn't Bother, Shaq-Fu: Da Return, etc.), and starred in select movies (Steel (1997), Kazaam (1996), Blue Chips (1994)). He has played for 4 NBA teams: the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Miami Heat, the Phoenix Suns, and currently the Cleveland Cavaliers. O'Neal graduated from Louisiana State University and is the only current NBA player with an MBA (Master of Business Administration). Shaq is also one of the few NBA players in history to reach the NBA Finals with three different teams. His charisma on and off the court helped create a worldwide reputation as "Godfather of the NBA." As a ...

After this year's Sixers team of youth and player development finishes the current lottery-bound season, they will enter the offseason with around $41 Million to go all HINKIE on Free Agency '14. Of course 'The Decision 2.0' looms, and the question remains...Where will Lebron James play next season?? My prediction is he stays lush in Miami, unless the Heat fail to win a 3rd championship, in which case they will try and resign Lebron as he tests Free Agency, and/or work on moving Chris Bosh. Which leaves the next question...Who can REALLY sign Lebron in 2014?? Good for us the Sixers are leading the pack.. 2014 Projected Cap Room 1) Sixers ($41 million) 2) Charlotte Bobcats ($34 million) 3) Cleveland Cavaliers ($32 million) 4) Dallas Mavericks ($37 million) 5) Detroit Pistons ($23 million) 6) Los Angeles Lakers ($30 million) 7} Orlando Magic ($36 million) 8) Phoenix Suns ($34 million) 9)Sacramento Kings ($32 million) 10) Utah Jazz ($55 million) So other than Miami, that leaves Lebron with a real possibility ...

San Antonio's victory ensured they stayed ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference as the latter also won, knocking off the Golden State Warriors 113-101. Portland trailed by a point with a quarter to play at Golden State's Oracle Arena but destroyed the Warriors in the final term with 32 points to 17. Good morning, y'all! Today is the debut of the NBA regular season. There are 30 teams reaching for that one prestigious goal: the NBA championship! Out of 30 teams, 12 of the teams have African American head coaches. They are Jason Kidd of the Brooklyn Nets, Mike Brown of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets, Maurice Cheeks of the Detroit Pistons, Mark Jackson of the Golden State Warriors, Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, Larry Drew of the Milwaukee Bucks, Monty Williams of the New Orleans Pelicans, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks, Jacque Vaughn of the Orlando Magic, Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors, and Tyrone Corbin of the Utah Jazz. Only Doc Rivers has a ring when he won the title in 2008 when he coached the Boston Celtics while Jason Kidd is the only coach who won a title as a player when he did it in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. Brian Shaw finally got a head coaching job that was long overdue. Since he was in the shadow of legendary coach Phil Jackson, he should b ...

Which of these teams that didn't make the playoffs last year make it this year? Free Agency News: - Eric Maynor has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Washington Wizards. - The Miami Heat have opened negotiations with Chris "Birdman" Andersen. - The New York Knicks have inquired about Francisco Garcia and Matt Barnes. Haven't reached out Chris Copeland since Free Agency began. Lakers, Pelicans, Mavericks and Pacers are all interested in him. - The Indiana Pacers have hired Nate Mcmillan as an assistant coach. - Grizzlies, Bucks, Nuggets, Mavericks, and Knicks are all interested in free agent guard Tony Allen. - Beno Udrih is less than likely to comeback with the Orlando Magic. Wizards and Celtics have shown interest for the free agent guard. - Despite rumors, the Cleveland Cavaliers have not reached out to Greg Oden. Heat, Spurs, Celtics and Grizzlies are all interested in the former pick. - Magic's draft pick Victor Oladipo will be getting a major run at the point guard position in the summer league.
FIRST ROUND = 1. Cleveland Cavaliers: PF Anthony Bennett, UNLV The draft's first stunner came ... on the draft's first pick. No one expected Bennett to go first. But he's a great fit for the Cavaliers, if he can get his weight down. Though Bennett is a power forward, he should fit well next to Tristan Thompson because they're both athletic and slightly undersized. Together they will rebound well. Bennett has as much upside as anyone in this class, though his weight and defense are concerns. Still, if he was going to be the target, the Cavaliers might have tried to trade down. Grade: B- 2. Orlando Magic: SG Victor Oladipo, Indiana The Magic reportedly were targeting a shooting guard for most of the draft process. Oladipo isn't as skilled as Ben McLemore, but he has unending energy and plays tough defense. He's the kind of player who could be an asset for a rebuilding team, as long as he's not expected to be its best player on offense. This pick echoes last year's No. 2, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. With Nerlens ...

My predictions about each of the lottery picks. Cleveland Cavaliers - Anthony Bennet. Many people are questioning if this was the right choice for Cleveland to make, due to there being a no clear Number 1 overall pick I think anyone in the top 7 could've gone Number 1, so it was not a bad pick by ny means. Bennet is a power forward, being 6'9 he is very undersized, and also the fact that Cleveland have Tristan Thompson will mean that he will most likely be playing Small Forward. The reason why Bennet went Number 1 was because of the fact he could fill the position that the Cavs needed desperately, he can shoot the mid range and 3 Point ball very effectively and he is extremely athletic. Stats, PPG - 16.4 RPG - 7.5 APG - 2.3 SPG - 1.1 BPG - 1.9 Orlando Magic - Victor Oladipo Victor Oladipo is my eraly pick for rookie of the year, why? its simple he does evrything you could ask for from 1 guy on a basketball court, he playts terrific defense, he is extrememlyy quick, very athletic, he can score in a variaty ...
2013 NBA Draft 1st round recap: With the 1st pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select Larry Johnson, er, Anthony Bennett. The Orlando Magic pick Victor Oladipo. Nerlens Noel goes from being reunited with Anthony Davis to being traded for Jrue Holiday. Burke goes from picked by the team that Kevin Love plays for to being traded for a player that played against him in the 2013 NCAA Mens' National Championship (Gorgui Dieng) with a Kevin Love look-alike (Luke Hancock). The Boston Celtics drafted Trinidad James (Lucas Nogueira) and then traded him to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks also drafted the German version of Rajon Rando (Dennis Schröder) along with Shane Larkin (who was later traded to the Dallas Mavericks). The New York Knicks selected Tim Hardaway, Jr. with their draft pick. Thanks a lot Pat Riley, P.J. Brown, and Charlie Ward. Miami Heat: 3 NBA championships New York Knicks: 2 NBA championships Houston Rockets: 2 NBA championships
It sounds like the Orlando Magic really like Nerlens Noel. If the Cleveland Cavaliers select Alex Len at No. 1, Orlando may go with Noel. If Nerlens Noel is gone, Orlando will likely select Ben McLemore or Victor Oladipo. Many people are assuming Oladipo, but I'm not so sure. There are still questions about Oladipo, and teams are intrigued by McLemore's upside. I've been told Oladipo could slip all the way to PHX. -MPlay
My Mock Draft: Let me know what you think! I will do analysis's for the first 5 teams and the Bulls pick. Cleveland Cavaliers: Alex Len. They need a center bad. Alex Len is much offensively progressed but can still rebound and block just like Noel. Len has more upside and has a bigger body to battle down low with other big in the league. Orlando Magic: Nerlens Noel. They need defense. Multiple reports have had them say that Noel will not get past the spot and i believe that. He has a good ceiling to be a great player in this league especially if he works on his offensive game. Charlotte Bobcats: Otto Porter. Charlotte needs a SF. Porter is the only great player in this draft in that position so they have no other choice. Washington Wizards: Victor Olidipo. The Wizards need a strong defensive minded player that can give them a offensive boost night in and night out. Victor Olidipo is exactly that. He also has a great work ethic and has a solid floor with a potentially very high ceiling. Phoenix Suns: Ben M ...

New York, Jan. 7, 2013 – The New York KnicksCarmelo Anthony and the Houston RocketsJames Harden today were named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 31 through Sunday, Jan. 6. Anthony, who topped the league in scoring at 36.0 ppg, led New York to a 2-1 week, including a home victory over the San Antonio Spurs. He bookended the week with a pair of 40-point performances against the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 1 and the Orlando Magic on Dec. 5. His 45 points against the Blazers tied this season’s single-game high (accomplished three times, twice by Anthony and once by Harden). The Lakers, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Cavaliers, while the Magic would receive Anderson Varejao and multiple draft picks.
On Wednesday, July 18, ESPN's Ric Bucher reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have been working with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic about a trade for Dwight Howard. Hours later, RealGM's Jarrod Rudolph added that Howard is now willing to re-sign with the Lakers after the 2012-2013 sea...
Prior to the news, Howard leaked that he would only consider re-signing with the Brooklyn Nets (his favored destination) and the Dallas Mavericks. However, the Dallas Mavericks had little of value to offer the Orlando Magic in terms of a trade partner aside from the ability to swallow their unwanted contracts. The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, were unable to broker an elaborate trade that would have involved two other teams (Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers). The Cavaliers have once again moved into position to facilitate a potential trade between the Lakers and Magic. In the proposed transaction, talented but headstrong center Andrew Bynum would be sent to Cleveland, scrappy veteran power forward Anderson Varejao would be dealt to Orlando along with a number of draft picks, and Howard would be on his way to Los Angeles. It is important to note what incentive the Orlando Magic franchise has to agree to this deal. Is Varejao and draft picks along with cap relief the best package Orlando can pull fo ...

Dig Deeper From Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inside Basketball By Nicole Musselman Boykin, Dallas, TX I grew up in a basketball family, the daughter and sister of two NBA coaches. My brother, Eric Musselman, has been an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies. He has been the head coach for the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings. My father, Bill Musselman, was a coach in the NCAA, the ABA, the CBA and the NBA. He was head coach for Ashland College, The University of Minnesota, San Diego Sails, Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2000 my father was an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers when he suffered a stroke and was later diagnosed with bone cancer. Days before my father died, at age fifty-nine, he could not walk. His eyes had circles underneath them the color of darkened grapes. His voice was raspy and low. His weight had plunged. His kidneys no longer worked. He had cancer. The last day we saw him we arri ...
