After this year's Sixers team of youth and player development finishes the current lottery-bound season, they will enter the offseason with around $41 Million to go all HINKIE on Free Agency '14. Of course 'The Decision 2.0' looms, and the question remains...Where will Lebron James play next season?? My prediction is he stays lush in Miami, unless the Heat fail to win a 3rd championship, in which case they will try and resign Lebron as he tests Free Agency, and/or work on moving Chris Bosh. Which leaves the next question...Who can REALLY sign Lebron in 2014?? Good for us the Sixers are leading the pack.. 2014 Projected Cap Room 1) Sixers ($41 million) 2) Charlotte Bobcats ($34 million) 3) Cleveland Cavaliers ($32 million) 4) Dallas Mavericks ($37 million) 5) Detroit Pistons ($23 million) 6) Los Angeles Lakers ($30 million) 7} Orlando Magic ($36 million) 8) Phoenix Suns ($34 million) 9)Sacramento Kings ($32 million) 10) Utah Jazz ($55 million) So other than Miami, that leaves Lebron with a real possibility ...
Bynum to meet with the Mavs DALLAS -- According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Philadelphia 76ers free agent center Andrew Bynum has a face-to-face meeting scheduled this week with the Dallas Mavericks. Bynum, according to the report, also has face-to-face meetings with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. After losing out on Dwight Howard last week, the Mavs have made Bynum an important piece they would like to add to their free agent puzzle this summer. Bynum, though, is in a buyer-beware situation since he didn't play at all this past season for the Sixers and underwent arthroscopic surgery on both of his knees in March. In his last season with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2011-'12 campaign, Bynum averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in 60 games. He also was the Western Conference starter in the 2012 All-Star game. Read more here:
Lakers fans send not so subtle message burning their Dwight Howard jerseys. Much like Cleveland Cavaliers fans back in 2010, Los Angeles Lakers fans have taken it upon themselves to share their anger with Dwight Howard in the form of burning jerseys.
Thursday / June 06 / 2013 Crunching the Numbers: A Finals Preview jericho ilagan The cast is finally complete. After 47 days of grueling playoff battle, two teams bested their opponents to set up the 2013 NBA Finals. Dwight Howard arrived at Staples Center expecting to sit out another game to rest his injured shoulder. He ended up helping the Los Angeles Lakers out of their longest losing streak in nearly six years, which made that shoulder feel a whole lot better. Howard had 22 points and 14 rebounds in his return from a three-game absence, and the Lakers snapped their six-game losing streak with a 113-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night. "When we play like this, we win, and we win big," Howard said. "We've just got to continue to learn from games like that, and hopefully we can just string together some wins." Kobe Bryant scored 23 points for the Lakers, who finally earned their first victory of 2013 while ending their longest skid since February 2007. Howard went 9 for 11 despite his torn labrum while leading Los Angeles to a comfortable victory over the lowly Cavaliers, who beat the Lakers last month. Steve Nash said the win was "mandatory" for the Lakers, and they played with an appropriate ef ...

-NBA PM: Timberwolves Still After Gasol, Varejao It’s one of the worst-kept secrets in the NBA that the Minnesota Timberwolves would love to have Pau Gasol in their lineup. They had multiple conversations with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, and Gasol’s apparent struggles this season have not dissuaded the Timberwolves in the slightest. Head coach Rick Adelman sees Gasol as the ideal big man to run his Princeton offense, and the team has multiple pieces to send out in an effort to make a deal happen, starting with forward Derrick Williams. For their part, the Lakers are preaching patience after a knee-jerk reaction saw them fire head coach Mike Brown at the beginning of the season. As a result, while the Timberwolves still see Gasol as the best-case scenario for them, they have also had at least preliminary discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers about center Anderson Varejao, whom the Cavs would prefer to keep but are considering trading because he is more interested in competing with a playoff ...

The Purple and Gold have improved their offense when Mike D'Antoni was given the head coaching stint, but has yet to find an answer for their defensive woes. Los Angeles Lakers (9-12) vs Cleveland Cavaliers (4-17). Replay at 8pm.
** DECEMBER 11, 2012 -- PLAY 002 ** Los Angeles Lakers @ Cleveland Cavaliers - PICK: LAKERS - 6.5 The Lakers have struggled to get their act together under the new coach Mike D'Antoni. The offense has improved but the defense has continued to struggle through-out the year. Tonight they play in Cleveland where the Cavaliers are just 2-6 at home. This game will be played hard by the Lakers as they know they must continue improving their defense to be a contender against the higher ranked NBA teams. Lakers have averaged shooting 45.7% FG & 38.8% 3 pointers, while the Cavaliers are below at 41.2% FG and 34.2% 3 pointers. The Cavaliers rank 22nd in points per game and 23rd in points allowed per game. The Lakers offense should be able to capitalize on that and cover in tonight's game. Take the Lakers.
Cleveland Cavaliers PG Kyrie Irving is expected to return for their game tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Lakers. It is not confirmed yet, but the Cavaliers need Irving back, badly.
Cavaliers guard Irving cleared to practice Dec 10 2012 2:01PM Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving has been cleared to practice after missing 10 games with a broken finger. Irving is practicing Monday and the Cavs expect him to play Tuesday night, when Cleveland hosts the Los Angeles Lakers. Irving had been expected to miss four weeks with the injury. The Cavs went just 2-9 without Irving, the NBA's reigning rookie of the year. Cleveland has also been missing rookie Dion Waiters, their second leading scorer. Report: Howard Ready To Join Lakers Dwight Howard has long coveted the Brooklyn Nets as his next landing spot, but after a summer filled with daily rumors of four-team trade proposals, the six-time All-Star has moved on from his Big Apple infatuation and is locked in on joining the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell RealGM. The Lakers, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Cavaliers, while the Magic would receive Anderson Varejao and multiple draft picks. Howard has always been impressed with the Lakers’ winning tradition and intrigued with the off-court opportunities that come with playing in Los Angeles. Questions about Howard’s role with the team, however, became an early concern for the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Howard has since moved on from those concerns and is confident he will be an integral part of a team that will have a chance to compete immediately for a championship, ac ...
Dwight Howard seems like he's come to terms with his restricted mobility and is welcoming a move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Andrew Bynum must do the same with the team that's being suggested he will move to, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On Wednesday, July 18, ESPN's Ric Bucher reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have been working with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic about a trade for Dwight Howard. Hours later, RealGM's Jarrod Rudolph added that Howard is now willing to re-sign with the Lakers after the 2012-2013 sea...
The Los Angeles Lakers are still working on a deal with the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers that would get them Dwight Howard. As the "Dwightmare" continues, new reports are circulating that the Cleveland Cavaliers have entered as a facilitator in a potential trade that would send Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers.
If the Dwight Howard saga does come to an end eventually, it could very well be that Howard ends up in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, and Andrew Bynum in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform. It would be unusual, yes, but it would work for both teams. The Los Angeles Lakers, who are already title contenders...
