Five days into the 2013-14 NBA regular season, two players continue to dominate to the point that the record books have taken notice. Surprisingly, it’s not Lebron James and Kevin Durant, or even Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, for that matter. It’s Anthony Davis and Michael Carter-Williams. Davis, a second-year power forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, has been dominating on both ends of the floor. Carter-Williams, a rookie point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, has been doing the same, but in a very different way. Whether you saw it coming or not, both of these individuals have been dominant. November 2 was no exception. Anthony Davis Strikes Again Seriously, I’m not favoring Anthony Davis. He just keeps popping up with historic stat lines. Davis dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers by posting 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, six blocks and six steals in 37 minutes. He was 9-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line en route to a 105-85 Pelicans win over the Charlotte Bob ...
My surprise "sleeper" NBA team this season are the Cleveland Cavaliers. I think they could pull off a 50 win season this year, to the shock of most people. Mike Brown returns as the head coach, Brown was fired the season after Lebron James left for Miami. Considering he coached the Cavs to 55+ wins a season with LeBron and only LeBron on his team, I think he's a decent coach. On the Lakers, he was over his head. But Cleveland is the perfect team for him. Kyrie Irving is a superstar. He is going to cement himself as a Top 5 PG this season and could get some MVP votes as well, as long as he stays healthy. He's no doubt the best player that Cleveland has had since LeBron. Andrew Bynum will actually play this season, unlike the disaster of his season in Philadelphia. When Bynum plays healthy, he is the 2nd best center in the NBA behind Dwight Howard. Anderson Varejao was playing the best basketball of his career before he got injured last season. Led the NBA is rebounds at the halfway point. They also signed ...
Bynum to meet with the Mavs DALLAS -- According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Philadelphia 76ers Free Agent center Andrew Bynum has a face-to-face meeting scheduled this week with the Dallas Mavericks. Bynum, according to the report, also has face-to-face meetings with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. After losing out on Dwight Howard last week, the Mavs have made Bynum an important piece they would like to add to their Free Agent puzzle this summer. Bynum, though, is in a buyer-beware situation since he didn't play at all this past season for the Sixers and underwent arthroscopic surgery on both of his knees in March. In his last season with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2011-'12 campaign, Bynum averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in 60 games. He also was the Western Conference starter in the 2012 All-Star game. Read more here:
...4 years ago. -Lebron James was on the Cleveland Cavaliers -Dwyane Wade was carrying a Heat team on his back -Chris Bosh was on the Toronto Raptors -Carmelo Anthony was on the Denver Nuggets -Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire were on the Phoenix Suns -Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer were on the Utah Jazz -Chris Paul was on the New Orleans Hornets -Dwight Howard was on the Orlando Magic and people actually liked him -Pau Gasol was getting the respect he deserved -Kobe was still Kobe -Ron Artest was still Ron Artest -Allen Iverson and Shaq were still playing -Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan were still coaching -The Charlotte Bobcats were a playoff team It's crazy how so much has changed in such a little time.
Lakers fans send not so subtle message burning their Dwight Howard jerseys. Much like Cleveland Cavaliers fans back in 2010, Los Angeles Lakers fans have taken it upon themselves to share their anger with Dwight Howard in the form of burning jerseys.
NBA News: The Los Angeles Clippers agreed to sign Darren Collison to a two-year contract. Jarrett Jack has signed a 4 year $25 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Dallas Mavericks agreed to a three-year, $9 million deal with Devin Harris. Earl Watson has agreed to a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Portland Trail Blazers have reached an agreement with Dorell Wright on a two-year deal. Francisco Garcia has agreed to a two-year, $2.6 million contract with the Houston Rockets. He was previously waived by Houston at the start of free agency to make cap space for Dwight Howard. -SD
If Houston Rockets manage to acquire Dwight Howard and Josh Smith before the free agency ends on July 10,the coming NBA season will be very interesting to watch. Teams to watchout for: Brooklyn Nets,Houston Rockets,Golden State Warriors,New Orleans Pelicans,Cleveland Cavaliers,Portland Trailblazers and Charlotte Bobcats.
The grades for this NBA are: A: This year's NBA Finals between The Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs were excellent. The series went seven games and both teams put on an excellent show to close out the NBA season. B: This year's NBA Draft was pretty good and it was filled with surprises. Everybody thought that the Cleveland Cavaliers will pick Nerlens Noel as their number one pick. Instead, they picked Anthony Bennett as their number one pick. Also, it is the last year of David Stern being the commissioner for the NBA. After the NBA Draft, Hakeem Olajuwon came in to congratulate his retirement, which is a nice sendoff. C: The Dwight Howard sweepstakes. Couple of weeks ago, I was interest to see which team is Dwight Howard going to play for next season. Either the Lakers, Hawks, Warriors, Mavericks or the Rockets. Right now, I wish he would make up his *** mind and pick a team so everybody would move on with their lives. I think Dwight Howard would sign with the Rockets. D: There have been a record 12 . ...
I'm not the biggest NBA fan, however, I am glad to see Lebron James and the Miami Heat fall to the San Antonio Spurs in game one of the 2013 Finals. I highly doubt that San Antonio is able to sweep the series like they did in their last NBA Finals Championship in 2007 when they played LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Being a Cavs fan since I was a toddler, I've "witnessed" LeBron's play, his strengths and his weaknesses. Though his game is nearly flawless, it seems that he is again carrying his team through the playoffs much like he did while he was in Cleveland. Remember, LeBron left Cleveland to go to Miami because he didn't have the supporting cast to win a championship. When playing the Indiana Pacers in this year's Eastern Conference Finals, Miami struggled with the bigs of Indiana. Now, against Greg Popovich's defensive mindsetted San Antonio Spurs team, great point guard play from Tony Parker an inside presence with Tim Duncan, LeBron and Miami have revealed their weaknesses. As mentioned, I've ...
Cleveland Cavaliers fans I got a fun question: Would you trade Dion Waiters, Tyler Zeller, Tristan Thompson and three 1st round picks to the Lakers for Dwight Howard with him signing a 6 year extension?
what a difference to have Dwight Howard in the middle, setting the tone on both offense and defense. We have to make him the focus, like we used to with Shaquille O' Neal, right? That spreads the ball around, gets everyone involved, and let's face it, you could put Kobe on Mars or Pluto and he'll still get 20+ points! Good work again from Steve Nash, Earl Clark, antawn Jamison. Alll in all, good win over the Cleveland Cavaliers -- small step obviously, but you have to start somewhere.
Dwight Howard arrived at Staples Center expecting to sit out another game to rest his injured shoulder. He ended up helping the Los Angeles Lakers out of their longest losing streak in nearly six years, which made that shoulder feel a whole lot better. Howard had 22 points and 14 rebounds in his return from a three-game absence, and the Lakers snapped their six-game losing streak with a 113-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday Night. "When we play like this, we win, and we win big," Howard said. "We've just got to continue to learn from games like that, and hopefully we can just string together some wins." Kobe Bryant scored 23 points for the Lakers, who finally earned their first victory of 2013 while ending their longest skid since February 2007. Howard went 9 for 11 despite his torn labrum while leading Los Angeles to a comfortable victory over the lowly Cavaliers, who beat the Lakers last month. Steve Nash said the win was "mandatory" for the Lakers, and they played with an appropriate ef ...
After Friday's game head coach Mike D'Antoni said, "I told the team that the biggest thing is that our season starts Sunday. And we have got one run and have one shot at it." The Lakers look to the turn the tide and start that run tonight when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers (TIP: 6:30pm PT, Time Warner Cable SportsNet & Time Warner Cable Deportes). Pau Gasol, still not cleared by Doctors after his concussion, will not play tonight. Dwight Howard (shoulder) will be re-evaluated before the game tonight.
New York gets revenge on Brooklyn as they win on the road 100-97 behind a late 3 from Jason Kidd. Carmelo Anthony exploded for a season high 45 points. Deron Williams had 18 points and 10 assists. Lakers drop yet anotger game to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyrie Irving's game back was a good showing, as he recorded 28 points and 11 assists. Kobe Bryant scored 42 in a losing game. For some reason the lakers lose more games than they win when kobe scores more than 27. Dwight Howard put in 19 points and 20 rebounds. Denver top Detroit 101-94, behind Ty Lawson's 26 poimts and 7 assists. -Agent Zero

Lakers add another superstar in Dwight Howard. I wonder if Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is going to start crying and try to stop the trade. Gilbert has a history of doing it ... Remember the Chris Pau near trade
Report: Howard Ready To Join Lakers Dwight Howard has long coveted the Brooklyn Nets as his next landing spot, but after a summer filled with daily rumors of four-team trade proposals, the six-time All-Star has moved on from his Big Apple infatuation and is locked in on joining the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell RealGM. The Lakers, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Cavaliers, while the Magic would receive Anderson Varejao and multiple draft picks. Howard has always been impressed with the Lakers’ winning tradition and intrigued with the off-court opportunities that come with playing in Los Angeles. Questions about Howard’s role with the team, however, became an early concern for the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Howard has since moved on from those concerns and is confident he will be an integral part of a team that will have a chance to compete immediately for a championship, ac ...
Dwight Howard seems like he's come to terms with his restricted mobility and is welcoming a move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Andrew Bynum must do the same with the team that's being suggested he will move to, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On Wednesday, July 18, ESPN's Ric Bucher reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have been working with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic about a trade for Dwight Howard. Hours later, RealGM's Jarrod Rudolph added that Howard is now willing to re-sign with the Lakers after the 2012-2013 sea...
The Los Angeles Lakers are still working on a deal with the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers that would get them Dwight Howard. The Lakers will surely be trading away Andrew Bynum, but it is expected that he would end up with the Cavs instead of the Magic. At first, Howard’s reluctancy to sign ...
As the "Dwightmare" continues, new reports are circulating that the Cleveland Cavaliers have entered as a facilitator in a potential trade that would send Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers.
If the Dwight Howard saga does come to an end eventually, it could very well be that Howard ends up in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, and Andrew Bynum in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform. It would be unusual, yes, but it would work for both teams. The Los Angeles Lakers, who are already title contenders...
The Brooklyn Nets have signed center Brook Lopez on a four-year, $61 million contract extension, effectively ending their pursuit of Orlando Magic All-Star Dwight Howard for the summer. Dwight Howard might not get his wish of being traded to the Nets. (Getty Images)Once Lopez – the centerpiece of a package the Nets offered the Magic – signed his contract Wednesday it assured that he can't be traded until Jan. 15 under NBA rules. Magic general manager Rob Hennigan indicated earlier Wednesday that the franchise was unlikely to strike a deal with Brooklyn – the only team with which Howard has said he'd sign a long-term extension. "As currently constructed," Hennigan said of talks with the Nets, "there's not a whole lot there." Orlando has engaged Houston in trade talks and is still holding dialogue with the Los Angeles Lakers, but Hennigan didn't sound to be in a rush to make a deal. After a three-team deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers fell apart this week for Howard, the Nets unsuccessfully scrambled ...
It appears as if the Cleveland Cavaliers have backed out of a three-team trade that looked to send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets. Orlando and Brooklyn are still engaged in talks for Howard, but they will need to find an alternative team to facilitate a deal. This was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Brooklyn Nets are "close" to an agreement to acquire All-Star center Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic in a trade that would also involve the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los …
Amid several reports that a deal to send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets is close, a source directly involved in the discussions said Monday that the Nets are exploring offers from other teams that want to get involved in the Howard talks besides the Cleveland Cavaliers — the third team that is reportedly the conduit to take on players and Draft picks to enable Brooklyn to get Howard while sending players and picks to the Magic. Yahoo! Sports reported Monday afternoon that the proposed deal would send Howard, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark to Brooklyn. Lopez (via a sign-and-trade deal), forwards Damion James and Shelden Williams and guard Armon Johnson, along with Cleveland forward Luke Walton, would go to Orlando, along with three first-round picks — two from New Jersey and one from Cleveland. The Cavs would get Humphries, guard Quentin Richardson from Orlando, guard Sundiata Gaines from the Nets, a first-round pick from the Nets and $3 million. Later Monday ESPN.com reported that the Clippers wo ...
The Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers are in serious talks on a three-team deal involving Dwight Howard and many others.
Barring another snag in talks, this Dwight Howard to Brooklyn Nets deal could be completed as early as tomorrow morning. Cleveland Cavaliers are said to be the 3rd team in the proposed 3 way deal. Thank God this is almost over!

I'm hearing from sources that Cleveland Cavaliers are team that would take Kris Humphries as part of Dwight Howard deal to the Brooklyn Nets. Just speculation but makes sense.
Dear God, Please allow Brandon Roy to see the amazing image of himself in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey. Please make him want to sign with the Cavs for less money and also, if it's not to much trouble, do the same to Dwight Howard. Thank you! Sincerely, with love, David Harris
"Taking my advice of Buying Low and Selling High, I am very pleased the Golden State Warriors are in serious talks yet again with Big Man J.J. Hickson (yes, the same J.J. who the Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't trade for Amar'e Stoudemire year's ago) after losing out on him last year when the Portland Trail Blazers stepped in and claimed him before he cleared waivers from his release from the Sacramento Kings. Even though I like Big Man David Lee, he needs somebody to toughen him up, compete with him for his starting power forward spot and take some of the burden of him from playing so many minutes at center (when the Warriors play small ball). Speaking of players team's foolishly wouldn't trade for Amar'e, the Warriors have decided not offer Stephen Curry an extension since he has ankle sprain issues the last two years. Initially I liked that but then I thought, hey the Warriors are still trying to trade for the best center in the NBA, Dwight Howard, even though he just said he only wants to go to the Br ...
This commercial was made in 1993. they made a re-make of this commercial with Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.
Well on Sunday Night my Dad and I are going to Quicken Loans Areana in Downtown Cleveland to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play against the Orlando Magic at 6pm. I just hope the Cavs can win like the Indians did Saturday Night against the Royals but since Orlandos Dwight Howard is hurt and can't play on Sunday the Cavs just might have a chance. Tom
