As they evaluate the team and look to make a deal to help secure a playoff berth, Cleveland Cavaliers officials are making recently acquired Luol Deng available ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, multiple league sources told ESPN.com. The Cavs traded three future draft picks and Andrew Bynum to the Chicago Bulls to acquire Deng on Jan. 7. But the deal hasn't worked out as hoped. Cleveland isn't determined to trade Deng, but with his impending Free Agency a concern, acting General Manager David Griffin is testing the market for the veteran forward. Getting value for Deng may be a challenge because his contract expires in June. He cannot be packaged with another Cavs player in a deal due to trade rules, though trades can be structured to get around this issue if teams are motivated enough. Moving to a younger team and changing cities for the first time, Deng hasn't always felt comfortable with his new teammates and coaches in Cleveland, and his play has suffered. He is averaging 14.6 points on 41 percent s ...
Luol Deng mocks offer, is open to the idea of rejoining the Bulls By Zach Harper | NBA writer January 23, 2014 11:38 AM ET Luol Deng is open to the idea of returning to the Bulls. (USATSI) After reportedly turning down a three-year, $30 million extension from the Chicago Bulls, Luol Deng was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Andrew Bynum and three draft picks. Deng will hit Free Agency this summer as an unrestricted free agent and will undoubtedly have plenty of offers to sift through as he makes his decision. When asked by reporters if he'd consider signing with the Bulls this summer should they reach out to him with a contract offer, Deng initially mocked the reported extension offer the team made. Shortly after the joke about the extension, Deng told reporters that taking the Bulls out of the equation would be stupid. From the Chicago Sun-Times: Meeting with the media for yet another chat about facing his former Bulls teammates Wednesday, Deng was asked about his pending Free Agency and ...

Cavs acquire Luol Deng in trade with Bulls... There's some shifting going on in the Eastern Conference, and when the Wizards face the Chicago Bulls on Monday at United Center they'll look different. Luol Deng, two-time All-Star forward who hadn't received the max extension he wanted from the Bulls in his 10th season, won't be there. "We have great respect for Luol Deng, as a player and a person. He has been an incredible contributor to our team on the court, and he has also done great things in the community," said Gar Forman, Bulls General Manager in a statement. "On behalf of the entire Bulls organization, I want to thank Luol for his years in Chicago." Andrew Bynum, acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers, is expected to be released, making him a free agent. The move helps the Bulls clear out room under the salary cap, as much as $15 million, because Bynum's contract isn't fully guaranteed. While Bynum loses money in the transaction he can find a home with a championship-caliber team such as Miami Heat, ...

Luol Deng could be on the move before the NBA Draft on Thursday. The Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls are having exploratory talks to send forward Luol Deng to the Wizards in exchange for the number three overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports. According to Stein, the most likely deal would send Wizards center Emeka Okafor and the third overall pick in Thursday’s draft to the Bulls for all-star swingman Luol Deng. Deng, who is set to make $14.2 million next season, missed most of the playoffs due to complications from a spinal tap. He is expected to make a full recovery. Deng scored 16.5 points-per-game with 6.3 rebounds and three assists per contest this season for the Bulls. Deng has averaged 16 points-per-game during his eight-year career with the Chicago Bulls. Stein reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers also have interest in acquiring Deng’s services.
Look, I've honestly been annoyed with the "new" Lebron James haters for the last 3 years. Unless your team is a Heat rival or you're a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, you really need to get over yourselves. This "he's a villian" crap is extremely lame. Say what you want about "The Decision" special 3 years ago on ESPN, but he donated $3 millions dollars to The Boys and Girls Club...villians don't donate millions of US dollars to youth organizations. He's never in legal trouble and is the best basketball player in the world. I am a Chicago Bulls fan and loved Michael Jordan growing up, but at the end of the day, Lebron is the best athlete I've seen in the NBA and will undoubtly be compared to Jordan when his career is done. If you don't like watching "greatness" on television and would rather watch boringness or mediocre sports, go watch college basketball.
Rockstarpoetry (Official) NBA Recap: Cleveland Cavaliers 101 (19-38, 9-22 away) - Chicago Bulls 98 (32-25, 15-14 home) CHICAGO -- Dion Waiters scored 25 points to help make up for the absence of Kyrie Irving, and the Cleveland Cavaliers snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Chicago Bulls with a 101-98 victory on Tuesday night. While Irving rested a sore right knee in street clothes on the sideline, Waiters converted a fadeaway jumper and a layup before Tyler Zeller drove along the baseline for a layup that helped Cleveland open an 87-78 lead with 7:33 left in the game. The Bulls were down two when they got the ball back with 37.8 seconds left, but Luol Deng missed a long jumper and Shaun Livingston hit two free throws for Cleveland to make it 100-96. Luke Walton then forced a turnover to get the ball back for the Cavs. Livingston, starting in place of Irving, finished with 15 points as improving Cleveland held on for its third win in the last four games, bouncing back from a difficult 109-105 loss ...
