Cleveland Cavaliers news: Cavs considering Andrew Bynum once more
Free Play from Marc Lawrence Cleveland Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers The Cavaliers had lost eight of nine contests and the fall guy fired on February 6th was GM Chris Grant, a former 6?10? center from the University of San Diego, where he was a teammate of Cavaliers? coach Mike Brown. A couple of his major blunders ? besides bringing back Brown ? were the drafting of Anthony Bennett (and his weight problem) at last season instead of Victor Oladipo, along with the signing of colossal failure Andrew Bynum. The firing of Grant was no shock but the retention of Brown was surprising to some; apparently both have been the right moves as the Cavs entered the break with four consecutive wins. That creates a post-All Star value play here with the Cavaliers sporting a new attitude and the Raptors still carrying a lot of holiday weight (19-6 ATS post-Christmas Eve). This is the first meeting of the season between these two teams, although they will be back at it on Tuesday. The visitor ...
As they evaluate the team and look to make a deal to help secure a playoff berth, Cleveland Cavaliers officials are making recently acquired Luol Deng available ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, multiple league sources told ESPN.com. The Cavs traded three future draft picks and Andrew Bynum to the Chicago Bulls to acquire Deng on Jan. 7. But the deal hasn't worked out as hoped. Cleveland isn't determined to trade Deng, but with his impending Free Agency a concern, acting General Manager David Griffin is testing the market for the veteran forward. Getting value for Deng may be a challenge because his contract expires in June. He cannot be packaged with another Cavs player in a deal due to trade rules, though trades can be structured to get around this issue if teams are motivated enough. Moving to a younger team and changing cities for the first time, Deng hasn't always felt comfortable with his new teammates and coaches in Cleveland, and his play has suffered. He is averaging 14.6 points on 41 percent s ...
The Indiana Pacers did what no other NBA team would—they took the cheese on Andrew Bynum. After ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that a signing was close on Jan. 31, the Pacers sealed the deal with Bynum on the morning of Feb. 1. After a failed experiment with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bynum has...
Luol Deng mocks offer, is open to the idea of rejoining the Bulls By Zach Harper | NBA writer January 23, 2014 11:38 AM ET Luol Deng is open to the idea of returning to the Bulls. (USATSI) After reportedly turning down a three-year, $30 million extension from the Chicago Bulls, Luol Deng was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Andrew Bynum and three draft picks. Deng will hit Free Agency this summer as an unrestricted free agent and will undoubtedly have plenty of offers to sift through as he makes his decision. When asked by reporters if he'd consider signing with the Bulls this summer should they reach out to him with a contract offer, Deng initially mocked the reported extension offer the team made. Shortly after the joke about the extension, Deng told reporters that taking the Bulls out of the equation would be stupid. From the Chicago Sun-Times: Meeting with the media for yet another chat about facing his former Bulls teammates Wednesday, Deng was asked about his pending Free Agency and ...

Cavs acquire Luol Deng in trade with Bulls... There's some shifting going on in the Eastern Conference, and when the Wizards face the Chicago Bulls on Monday at United Center they'll look different. Luol Deng, two-time All-Star forward who hadn't received the max extension he wanted from the Bulls in his 10th season, won't be there. "We have great respect for Luol Deng, as a player and a person. He has been an incredible contributor to our team on the court, and he has also done great things in the community," said Gar Forman, Bulls General Manager in a statement. "On behalf of the entire Bulls organization, I want to thank Luol for his years in Chicago." Andrew Bynum, acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers, is expected to be released, making him a free agent. The move helps the Bulls clear out room under the salary cap, as much as $15 million, because Bynum's contract isn't fully guaranteed. While Bynum loses money in the transaction he can find a home with a championship-caliber team such as Miami Heat, ...

Andrew Bynum says he expects boos in Philadelphia, doesn’t feel bad at all about last season (NBC Sports)
My surprise "sleeper" NBA team this season are the Cleveland Cavaliers. I think they could pull off a 50 win season this year, to the shock of most people. Mike Brown returns as the head coach, Brown was fired the season after Lebron James left for Miami. Considering he coached the Cavs to 55+ wins a season with LeBron and only LeBron on his team, I think he's a decent coach. On the Lakers, he was over his head. But Cleveland is the perfect team for him. Kyrie Irving is a superstar. He is going to cement himself as a Top 5 PG this season and could get some MVP votes as well, as long as he stays healthy. He's no doubt the best player that Cleveland has had since LeBron. Andrew Bynum will actually play this season, unlike the disaster of his season in Philadelphia. When Bynum plays healthy, he is the 2nd best center in the NBA behind Dwight Howard. Anderson Varejao was playing the best basketball of his career before he got injured last season. Led the NBA is rebounds at the halfway point. They also signed ...
Cleveland Cavaliers: The Cavaliers this offseason were extremely active with the acquiring of Jarrett Jack and Andrew Bynum. Are theses the missing keys to a playoff birth? Point guards: Kyrie Irving/Dion Waiters Shooting guards: Jarrett Jack/Matthew Dellavedova/C. J Miles / Wayne Ellington/Carrick Felix Small Forwards: Alonzo Gee/Sergey Karasev Power Forwards: Anthony Bennett/Tristan Thompson/Earl Clark Centre: Andrew Bynum/Anderson Varejao/Tyler Zeller The Cavaliers have struggled to make the playoffs since the departure of Lebron James. Although they lost James a young superstar was drafted. Kyrie Irving has dazzled us all with his skills but him alone cannot lead the team to a playoff birth. Until now with the addition of Andrew Bynum can the cavaliers pose a threat to the top teams in the east? Kyrie can dominate amongst point guards. If Dion Waiters develops his offensive game more he can be a solid player. Alonzo Gee is a terrific 3-point shooter. Anthony Bennett can rebound and grow to be an excel ...

At least one Cavs center will be ready to open training camp! Anderson Varejao is ready to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers after the Brazilian has been cleared by team doctors, declaring him ready when the Cavs open training camp in October. (VIDEO)...to Terry Pluto from cleveland.com, the 30-year old forward-center is finally healthy from various injuries, including leg problems (quadriceps) and blood clots. In the 2012-13 regular season, Varejao missed 57 games and in the last three seasons he has missed a total of 149 games and only played in 81. While considered injury-prone by many, Varejao has been very effective in the times he actually played. In 25 games in the 2011-12 regular season, he averaged 10.8 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Last year, he bumped up those averages to an even more impressive 14.1 points and 14.3 rebounds per game, although he once again played in just another 25 games. When Varejao finally returns to Cleveland’s roster, he’d see a different, improved depth in the f ...
Can there be a sports town more cursed than Cleveland? This is what the past 72 hours have been like for the Cuyahoga faithful: Cleveland Cavaliers announce that their top free agent signing, Andrew Bynum, will not be able to go in preseason. Their top draft pick mind you is out until Christmas. The Browns promoted their 3rd string QB to starter and then trade their first round pick from last year to the Colts. The Indians came out of nowhere to pull within a half game of the wild card. The two teams in front of them are playing each other in a three game set. All they have to do is win to put themselves in the drivers seat and gain on one of the two teams. They lose the first game, win last night and are getting beat tonight. God bless the Cleveland fans!

Bynum to meet with the Mavs DALLAS -- According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Philadelphia 76ers free agent center Andrew Bynum has a face-to-face meeting scheduled this week with the Dallas Mavericks. Bynum, according to the report, also has face-to-face meetings with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. After losing out on Dwight Howard last week, the Mavs have made Bynum an important piece they would like to add to their free agent puzzle this summer. Bynum, though, is in a buyer-beware situation since he didn't play at all this past season for the Sixers and underwent arthroscopic surgery on both of his knees in March. In his last season with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2011-'12 campaign, Bynum averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in 60 games. He also was the Western Conference starter in the 2012 All-Star game. Read more here:

So far the Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers are extremely interested in Andrew Bynum.
Sources say that the Cleveland Cavaliers are pursuing all-star center Andrew Bynum. Although Bynum didn't play a second last year due to a knee injury, I like his shots and want him to join the Cavs. They are only going to be able to offer a 1 yr $13-15 million dollar contract if they want to pursue LeBron in 2014 like they have planned. Potential starting 5 for 2013-14 Cavs: PG-Kyrie Irving SG-Jarret Jack or Dion Waiters (Still being discussed) SF-Anthony Bennett PF-Anderson Verajao C-Andrew Bynum That's a solid playoff team. If they get Bynum they should also have on eof the better benches in the NBA. They could have Tristan Thompson, Waiters or Jack, Zeller, CJ Miles, Earl Clark. A few more but you get the idea. Oh if you didn't know that Mike Brown (the Cavs new head coach) was the Lakers coach two years ago when Bynum played for them, then that's something that you should look into. Message me any questions you have about the Cavs 2013-14 opening roster outlook.

Report: Howard Ready To Join Lakers Dwight Howard has long coveted the Brooklyn Nets as his next landing spot, but after a summer filled with daily rumors of four-team trade proposals, the six-time All-Star has moved on from his Big Apple infatuation and is locked in on joining the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell RealGM. The Lakers, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Cavaliers, while the Magic would receive Anderson Varejao and multiple draft picks. Howard has always been impressed with the Lakers’ winning tradition and intrigued with the off-court opportunities that come with playing in Los Angeles. Questions about Howard’s role with the team, however, became an early concern for the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Howard has since moved on from those concerns and is confident he will be an integral part of a team that will have a chance to compete immediately for a championship, ac ...

Would love seeing Andrew Bynum in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey more than seeing Howard, Nash, and even Kobe in a Lakers jersey
Dwight Howard seems like he's come to terms with his restricted mobility and is welcoming a move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Andrew Bynum must do the same with the team that's being suggested he will move to, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Prior to the news, Howard leaked that he would only consider re-signing with the Brooklyn Nets (his favored destination) and the Dallas Mavericks. However, the Dallas Mavericks had little of value to offer the Orlando Magic in terms of a trade partner aside from the ability to swallow their unwanted contracts. The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, were unable to broker an elaborate trade that would have involved two other teams (Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers). The Cavaliers have once again moved into position to facilitate a potential trade between the Lakers and Magic. In the proposed transaction, talented but headstrong center Andrew Bynum would be sent to Cleveland, scrappy veteran power forward Anderson Varejao would be dealt to Orlando along with a number of draft picks, and Howard would be on his way to Los Angeles. It is important to note what incentive the Orlando Magic franchise has to agree to this deal. Is Varejao and draft picks along with cap relief the best package Orlando can pull fo ...
