Being the game show aficionado that I am, this coming week Wheel of Fortune will celebrate it's 6000th episode!!! Ever since it's debut in 1975, this has became an amazing and fun way to play Hangman while having the chance to win tens of thousands of dollars in cash and prizes!! Pat Sajak took over "Wheel" in 1981, immediately after Chuck Woolery. Mr. Woolery left the show after Merv Griffin, the creator of "Wheel" and "Jeopardy", declined to pay Chuck $350,000/year to stay with the show. This led to Woolery hosting some great game shows of the 1980s, including "Scrabble" and "Love Connection". Vanna White joined Pat in 1982, making her one of the most beloved women in America. Vanna OFFICALLY became a "Letter-Toucher" in 1997, after turning letters for 15 years. So far, the show has produced 2 Million-Dollar winners, and has given over $200 MILLION in cash and prizes!!!
Game Show Trivia: Wheel of Fortune is a game show that debuted on January 6, 1975 with Chuck Woolery as host. Originally Ed Kookie Byrnes was selected as host but there were rumors he was drunk and could not recite the vowels AEIOU. Woolery left the show on December 25, 1981 when he demanded more money from Merv Griffin. Alex Trebek who had finished ``High Rollers'' filled in on ``Wheel of Fortune'' for one week in 1980. Pat Sajak took over on December 28, 1981. Fred Silverman did not want Pat Sajak because he was deemed too local. Susan Stafford was the original hostess of the show and announced in 1982 that she was leaving to do humanitarian work. Summer Batholomew, Vicki McCarty, and Vanna White all tried out. Vanna White was given the job. Sajak left the daytime show in 1989 to do his talk show. Rolf Bieneirschke did the show for six months until the show moved to CBS. On June 30, 1989 the show left NBC daytime and headed for CBS on July 17th. Bob Goen took over that day and that version ran until J . ...
The longest-running, syndicated game show in television history, “The Wheel of Fortune” turns 39 years old today. Originally hosted by Chuck Woolery, the show is now hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White—both of whom took over in 1981. If you love "The Wheel of Fortune," give this puzzle a try: "Wh-t w-ll V-nn- w--- t-n--ht?"
The only way I'd throw a boulder at either Pat Sajak or Chuck Woolery would be if either was drowning.
I'm playing Amanda Stebbins game of things you probably didn't know about me! I always thought that I would marry Paul Anka! I was on Wheel of Fortune! I kissed Pat Sajak but signed on for Chuck Woolery! Yum! I wanted to be the first woman in space. Nursing was the last profession I ever considered! I never thought I'd be old enough to drive let alone drink legally! I'm a grandma! Who knew? I've inherited the Kielbasa King's recipe ... My dad!
I'm wondering after Pat Sajak retires from hosting WHEEL OF FORTUNE, will they bring Chuck Woolery back?
"He was playing Chuck Woolery last night.". Come on, you could've said Pat Sajak.
Chuck Woolery and Pat Sajak have two things in common: they both hosted and they're both Conservatives Republicans.
Jeopardy! needs to have a tournament of other game show hosts. Drew Carey, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak.
If this game would've lasted any longer Pat Sajak and Alex Trabek would've entered the game.
Plus, almost all game show hosts are Republican, for some reason. Especially Pat Sajak and Chuck Woolery.

I wonder if Pat Sajak is prejudice like Chuck Woolery.
If you think Chuck Woolery is crazy, look up Pat Sajak's political opinions. Seriously.

Dear "Wheel Of Fortune", this is NOT your 30th anniversary! Only Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been with the show for 30 years. WOF, you have been on air since 1975 with Chuck Woolery being the original host. LOL.
I really shouldn't get that joke, yet I do. I'd like to see Chuck Woolery v. Pat Sajak though.
MORE USELESS KNOWLEDGE: On the forever-running "Wheel of Fortune," who was the very first host? Not Pat Sajak, but Chuck Woolery.

Drew Carey, Pat Sajak, and Chuck Woolery are all three on the right. Is it dealing with the proles that makes game show hosts conservative?
RIP to Richard Dawson, the best game show host ever. Yes, better than Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak, Chuck Woolery, and esp. Steve Harvey.
A melancholy Happy Trails to Richard Dawson, who has died at 79. The urban myth that he was already dead irritated this fan for many years but now he is gone. He was one of the greatest smooth talkers and charmers in any profession, which created big ratings for The Match Game and Family Feud for years. He also possessed a lively, intelligent mind with a sharp wit, at least until he came back to host one final Feud season in which he's clearly lost his fastball. He also changed the course of game show history when Chuck Woolery's jealousy of his salary got him canned from Wheel of Fortune and replaced by an obscure weatherman named Pat Sajak.
