"New Star Trek movie is racist"... "New Star Trek movie is sexist..." Is it just cool to hate on anything Christopher Nolan didn't touch? Seriously, Y'ALL ARE RUINING THIS FOR ME.
My reviews on the movies of 2013, so far: Les miserables - * Oblivion - * Iron Man 3 - *** Star Trek Into Darkness - * Fast and Furious 6 - *** With Man of Steel nearly ready for the big screen, I think it's only appropriate to talk about the films so far this year. Special effects are the most notable point in recent movies, although some films, like Skyfall, have relied heavily on constructing a great plot and narrative, which I truly admire. Christopher Nolan is just one of the many directors who've given the 'dark treatment' to the movie-going experience, and in the case of the Dark Knight trilogy, it's really paid off. By making films more grounded and giving the terrorist threats real menace, filmmakers are leading us astray from the entertaining predictable blockbusters we've been so comfortable with in the past. Nolan set a precedent for what I like to call the formidable, and more importantly, interlectual adversary. And it hasn't taken long for other talented directors to jump on this band wagon ...

Christopher Nolan may direct the new Bond movie. If true, that would be brilliant.
Jim Geraghty of National Review does a very good job of describing my own criticisms of Iron Man 3 (which I otherwise thoroughly enjoyed). I was dismayed at the handling of what is Iron Man's most significant villain by turning him into "not a villain at all". Come on, people, imagine if Christopher Nolan had done the same thing to Batman's Joker. I am *much* more disappointed that it was a result of a subtextual "Osama bin Laden" statement that in the real world actually makes no sense: "First, the makers of Iron Man 3 decided that the Mandarin's propaganda videos would make the villain really, really resemble and echo Osama bin Laden. I don't think that's necessarily offensive or exploitative; I think that's hitting the notes that stir fear in our subconscious in a very effective way. (Ben Kingsley talks a bit about it here.) He hates the United States of America for reasons that seem unclear, he's determined to teach us a lesson, and he launches random, explosive terror attacks at various targets. But ...

Wow. Christopher Nolan's made no secret over the years of his love of the James Bond franchise; he named it as an influence on his first two "Batman" movies, directly paid homage to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" in "Inception," and has often said that he's like to direct a film in the franchise…

'Star Trek Into Darkness' is an exhilarating, emotionally dense and utterly pleasurable journey that will take the fans to new heights and dimensions. Review by Luke Whitmire May 15th, 2013 After watching 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' I know J.J. Abrams is going to make a brilliant 'Star Wars' movie. Abrams is a perfect fit to direct the impending Episode V11. Mr. Abrams has solidified himself as a masterful, propulsive and visceral filmmaker along with James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. The guy really knows how to place the camera, how to orchestrate action, where music should swell, and how to develop strong characterization. Only a few directors posses a certain conceptual talent to crystallize every film they make into a meaningful, entertaining and aesthetically profound experience for the viewer, and Abrams is blessed with that special innovative capacity. 'Into Darkness' is ingenious exemplary filmmaking that has the intelligence and emotional depth to render it fan ...

Well, this is hardly a shock for anyone keeping up with their Christopher Nolan news, because it was teased last summer. "He's got to go on, he's got some other idea, and I'm in it!" Michael Caine said when asked about Nolan's next film during press rounds for "The Dark Knight Rises." "I've been in everything he's done since he's been in Hollywood. We're each others' good luck charms." Well, that rabbit's foot will back on the set. Deadline confirms that Caine is now also part of Nolan's great cast for "Interstellar." He'll join Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain in the movie developed by Jonathan Nolan, tweaked by Chris and dealing with time travel and alternate dimensions, telling the story of a group of explorers who go through a wormhole. And yeah, you know this already, and it's all we'll ever hear of the plot until Nolan lifts the sheet, whenever he's good and ready.
Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR already had wormholes and Matthew McConaughey. Enough to be excited. Now it's got Jessica Chastain as well. Way to atone for THE Dark Knight Rises, Mr. Nolan. Yes, I want to know more.
Christopher Nolan's sci-fi movie Interstellar is in the process of bringing on Jessica Chastain, Deadline has learned. Her role is not revealed, but she will join a cast that currently includes Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.

Emma Thomas is a film producer, known for co-producing films such as The Prestige (2006), Inception (2010), as well as the Batman film franchise from 2005 to 2012. She frequently collaborates with her husband, director and producer Christopher Nolan.
I've gotten a few requests to review this one, so without further delay, here it is. This is a movie that has confused me since the first time I saw it, but after three viewings, I finally got it. Inception is written and directed by Christopher Nolan, and if The Dark Knight trilogy doesn't demonstrate his skills, this movie most certainly does. The movie is smart, mind-bending, perfectly paced, and shot well. This is definitely one of the best films I have seen in recent years. I'm sure glad we have people like Nolan at Hollywood, we could use more movies like this. The treatment for this film was written right around the time The Matrix was released, and from what I understand, it is the reason why Nolan didn't work on the film sooner and chose to wait. Had it been released soon after the release of The Matrix, people would have criticized this film more for being too much of a rip off. But because it was released in 2010, the movie generally did better critically and commercially. And with good reason. ...

Hear me out: 1) Christopher Nolan. What has the guy touched that hasn't turned into gold? 2) Russell Crowe 3) General Zod
Man I absolutely cannot overstate the brilliance of Christopher Nolan's films, particularly Inception. His appreciation of/attention to detail and pure innate craft is unmistakenly evident in all of his films to date; his level of quality surely can be compared to that of an another extraordinary filmmaker, i.e. Steven Spielberg. In terms of Inception alone, the idea is indubitably inventive, intriguing, and inspiring to be quite frank : )
Drunken ponder - Star Wars fans, Like this post and comment if you wish: Would you have preferred Universal Studios buying Star Wars and getting Christopher Nolan to remake the whole 6 original PLUS three final episodes, released every year, with an 18 certificate Dark Knight-esque but with swearing, sex and gore?
Edgar Wright, Michael Bay, Bryan Singer, Jon Favreau, Eli Roth, Duncan Jones and Stephen Daldry. Of all the brilliant people Christopher Nolan could've screen the Dark Knight for, why the men who bring us giant fighting robots, Iron Men and the Hostel Franchise?
Seems that with the announcement of JJ Abrams taking over Star Wars and Joss Whedon taking over Marvel and Mark Millar taking over the X-men and Fantastic four movies, DC has had no choice but to have a desperate emergency meeting that has resulted in a decision to go ahead with a DC universe headed by Christopher Nolan. Yes, the plans for Justice League was cancelled but with the announcement of Star Wars, DC has decided if they dont act fast, they will fall behind.. No confirmations of any new movies. I just hope they don't make it all dark.. I don't wanna see a dark Flash running around and being emo and angry.. or a dark Aquaman.
is more magical than d movies of James Cameron,Steven Spielberg,Quentin Tarantino,Christopher Nolan,Raj Kapoor,Yash Chopra!
Dear Joel Schumacher, WHY?!?!?! You ruined the franchise of my favorite super hero. I understand now why Christopher Nolan had decided to reboot the Batman series, to secure legitimacy of a great super hero. Please do not touch anything ever again.
Christopher Nolan's seller will be produced by Paramount AND Warner Brothers
Let's recap what happened this week! - First LatinoReview published a big scoop about Christopher Nolan firmly involved in Justice League OF AMERICA movie, in the same role of "godfather"/producer he performs in Man of Steel. More interesting (or terrible), this would lead to a return of Christian Bale in batsuit as the Batman in this crossover, with a direct link to Nolan's trilogy events. - Rumors kept going on as Christian Bale's involvement in the movie was denied. Meanwhile Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. were negotiating to produce and release the science-fiction movie INTERSTELLAR, based on a Jonathan Nolan's screenplay and set to be directed by Steven Spielberg; Spielberg left the project and rumors about Chris Nolan taking his place were insistent. - Yesterday Paramount and Warner Bros. finally announced INTERSTELLAR will be released November 7th 2014. The movie will be directed by Christopher Nolan, and it's based on a screenplay written by the director himself and his brother Jonathan Nolan ...
Source: Silas Lesnick March 9, 2013 With the Jon M. Chu-directed G.I. Joe: Retaliation arriving in theaters at the end of this month, ComingSoon.net sat down to speak with VFX Supervisor James Madigan, one of the key behind-the-scenes talents who (quite literally) took the script from action figure reenactments to stuntmen ziplining across actual snowcapped mountaintops. Madigan, whose projects have ranged from The Da Vinci Code to Iron Man 2 to the upcoming RED 2, describes the on-screen level of reality he and the film's crew worked to attain, likening the approach for the big screen sequel to that of Christopher Nolan's take on the Batman franchise. The film itself stars Dwayne Johnson, D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. In it, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence ...

A couple of days ago we got some pretty exciting news, that Christopher Nolan will be producing Justice League, and could possibly bring back Christian Bale as Batman. However, my source is saying something a little different, click here to check it out.
There's been a lot of talk about Ang Lee and his comments regarding Life of Pi and the incredible work of the artists and industry that made it possible. Many have said that the directors simply aren't aware of the difficulty and sacrifice required by VFX companies and their artists to deliver their visual effects. From the October 2012 Cinefex (the article on The Dark Knight Rises concluded with a quote from director Christopher Nolan: "…By his own account, the core lesson Nolan learned during his Batman effects apprenticeship is that no matter how technologically advanced, visual effects remain an art form. 'There is a myth in the effects industry that everything is done with simulation," Nolan commented, 'that everything is a mathematically accurate model of the real world, and you just have to work at higher and higher resolutions to achieve absolute reality. But the longer you work with these kinds of effects, the more you realize that's not it at all. There are powerful tools for certain aspect .. ...

Nothing really except that it finds the filmmaker back on American soil after spending most of the last few years gallivanting around Europe. But a new image is here, so you can decipher all the clues you want. First up, it features Cate Blanchet looking well dressed, but none too pleased, while Sally Hawkins throws some shade in the background. So, are we seeing a return to dramatic territory for Allen? The presence of guys like Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay would refute that, while the involvement of Bobby Cannavale, Peter Sarsgaard, and Michael Stuhlbarg offer the counter argument. The logline doesn't offer much help either, explaining that the movie is “the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife.” ...
Just heard that Christian Bale might be returning to the role of Batman for the Justice League movie because Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder may team up to direct it. Best news I've heard all week.
Batman Begins (2005) - Christian Bale becomes the next in line to play Bruce Wayne, succeeding George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton and Adam West. Director Christopher Nolan asks Bale to actually show emotion, something that lacks in the Bat Universe. You see the bitterness and anger from Bale as he blames himself for the death of his parents and the way he takes liberties with pain as his sacrifice to his parents by ridding Gotham of its crime and restore The Wayne Vision of the city. Maybe it was the near death of the franchise, but Bale's performance resonates with Bat fans and rescues the franchise. A dramatically different take from the aloofness and campyness, Bale portrays vulnerability, heartache, righteousness and honor and did Bat fans proud with his performance. Some may say the story and the franchise itself resurrected Batman, but Bale really shines as the Caped Crusader. Next up on the Christian Bale run, another selection from 2005. Harsh Times.
Movie Quote/Trivia of the Day The Dark Knight rose, before Pacino had insomnia and before DiCaprio could enter one's dreams, Christopher Nolan made a movie in a style that had never been done before. He told a story in reverse in the most literal sense. Leonard Shelby - I have to believe in a world outside my own mind. I have to believe that my actions still have meaning, even if I can't remember them. I have to believe that when my eyes are closed, the world's still there. Do I believe the world's still there? Is it still out there?...Yeah. We all need mirrors to remind ourselves who we are. I'm no different. -Leonard Shelby (Guy Pierce in Memento) Did you know? The movie was filmed in Southern California, in and around the Sunland/Tujunga area. Other driving scenes were filmed in Burbank on Victory Blvd. The film took 25 days to shoot. The medical condition experienced by Leonard in this film is a real condition called Anterograde Amnesia - the inability to form new memories after damage to the hippocam ...

Neeraj Pandey, you are very much on path to become Christopher Nolan of Bollywood!
The movi 'Justice League' wd be directd by the director Christopher Nolan n Christian Bale wd again be batman! excited
Just read that Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale are in talks to work on the next JLA movie. I am sad. I wanted to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman and I really have no interest in Nolan or Bale's continued involvement. Also, Zack Snyder is in talks to direct, which is a little played out.
Ok I have a fun question for all you fans. With the way Christopher Nolan has done Batman and now Superman... IF and I have to stress the word IF because he isn't lol but would you be pumped if CN tackled the Dragonball Z franchise? I feel like he would just blow my mind with that story line with his idea of making these types of realities come to life in society today. I have always wanted to make this a thing ever since I was a kid have my cast and everything planned out if I ever became a Director lol. What are you thoughts on the Idea? I'd love to know :D - Brandon
A rumor has been circulating since yesterday that Warner Bros. has made Christopher Nolan the overseer of all DC related movie projects. Further, Latino Review has a source claiming that Christian Bale will be starring as Batman alongside Henry Cavill's Superman in an upcoming Justice League film. As much as I'd like to see a JLA movie, I'm extremely skeptical that this will actually happen. I don't think the universe that Nolan created for Batman is the right one to support the idea of a Justice League because of its reliance on a more plausible sense of realism. I'm also not entirely sure how they would explain the transition given TDKR's ending. I can't imagine Solomon Grundy, Gorilla Grodd, or Darkseid existing in the same world as Batman. Unless the idea would be to shake that world up. That could actually be a very cool premise. It would be interesting to see how the Dark Knight responds to these new alien threats and how he has to evolve to meet the challenges they pose. If a JLA movie really is go ...
The only surprising thing about this story is that it didn't hit sooner. A few days ago El Mayimbe of Latino-Review tried to swing for the fences with a new scoop only to strike out. According to him, the Justice League film would be produced by Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder. It was also stated…
I'd like to see a three-part movie of Stephen King - writer's The Stand: Directed by Christopher Nolan. I'll keep dreaming.
US blog claims superhero movie will be overseen by Christopher Nolan and include Henry Cavill as Superman
Batman Begins Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) delivers the reboot to Batman, telling the story of how Bruce Wayne becomes the iconic Caped Crusader. He called it ‘Batman Begins’. It follows Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale – The Machinist, Empire of the Sun) from when he has to come face to face with Chill, his parent’s murderer. Chill is willing to testify against his boss, leader of the underworld, Falcone (Tom Wilkinson – The Full Monty). Wayne, full of revenge plots to kill him, but Falcone beats him to it. So Wayne disappears and becomes a criminal and is arrested and put into a Bhutanese prison. It is there he meets and is taken in by Henry Ducard (Liam Neeson – Rob Roy, Love Actually) and is to be trained by the League of Shadows. He completes his training and the Leagues leader – Rai Al Ghul plans to destroy Gotham. So naturally, Wayne refuses and burns the building to the ground, killing Rai Al Ghul and saves Ducard. Wayne returns to Gotham as a new improved man – a playboy ...
UGH!!! Christopher Nolan is up for the JL movie too??? Man this "SUPERMAN: Man of Steel" BETTER BE ON POINT! Nolan has to prove himself to get me to buy another ticket after Superman
just so I said it: Christopher Nolan only made 2 good Batman Movies!
War Witch and Flashpoint top the Canadian Screen Awards . Rumour of the day: Christian Bale might be back as Batman, along with Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming Justice League Movie, with Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder producing. Halle Berry has been confirmed to return as Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Steven Spielberg is looking to bring Stanley’s Kubrick never made Napoleon to the small screen as a mini-series.
With reliable sources claiming that Warner Bros. want Christian Bale back as the Caped Crusader in a Christopher Nolan produced Justice League movie, here is your chance to decide whether or not you actually want to see the actor suit up as Batman in DC's superhero ensemble.
((NO! Christopher Nolan is rumoured to make a Justice League movie (He's trying to take over it and "revive" it. Darkseid and Granny Goodness will still be in it if it'll come) and have Christian Bale as Batman!!! (I would actually like that ONLY for Aquaman to yell at Batman for dropping the nuke into the Ocean but they won't have it. I'm sure of it.) I would like to see a Justice League Movie but NOT with Chris Nolan making it!!! And it's already been said. IF they will make a Justice League Movie it WILL be Wally West and ONLY him. Wally's my favorite Flash but they should have Barry Allen first! But anyway. It will most likely tank. And the story will be HORRIBLE.))
Christopher Nolan rumored to be overseer of all future DC Universe films. Does this mean Maggie Gyllenhaal will be Wonder Woman?
So here's some Marvel and DC news for all of you. Kevin Feige says that Guardians of the Galaxy will be 95% in space. The Avengers will not be part of the Guardians film, which will act more as a standalone film setting up the world. Iron Man 3 and Captain America 2 will be very different from their previous films. Now for DC. This is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. It's also a rumor that I hope is slightly untrue. Christopher Nolan may be producing the Justice League film and Zach Snyder may be directing it; but here's the twist: their hoping Bale will come back to reprise the Batman role. This would mean the production behind the Justice League would be Nolan being the godfather figure with Snyder getting Nolan's approval, which is what I imagined Man of Steel is like. But according to the rumors, they're shaping it as a vehicle for Bale as Batman and Cavill as Superman in the film. While this may sound like a nice idea on the surface...no. Look. If Nolan is given a godfather type role a ...
A new rumor contends Christopher Nolan has agreed to oversee Warner Bros.' DC Comics properties, with the studio attempt to convince Christian Bale to reprise his role as Batman in Justice League.
Sometimes after I watch a movie I say to myself "I wonder what this would have been like if Christopher Nolan had made it." And then a part of me always wishes he had made it.
Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder will produce JLA, while Christian Bale is being lined up to return as the Caped Crusader! BOOM!!
Back in July of last year, "Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan said he had no intention of helping Warner Bros. with its planned Justice League movie. "We're finished with all we're doing with Batman," Nolan, an executive producer on the upcoming Superman movie "Man of Steel," told the As...

Christopher Nolan is rumored to now be in charge of the DC Movie Universe including Justice League; WB wants Christian Bale to play Batman again.
ELECTROSHADOW HAS HEARD: That Warner Bros, in an act of desperation/consolidation, have hired Christopher Nolan to oversee the "Justice League" film project! This comes after numerous stalled & aborted attempts to bring DC Comics' answer to Marvel's "The Avengers" to the big screen. According to movie site Latino Review, Nolan is bringing his own Batman back to the universe... none other than Christian Bale! If true, Bale will join Henry Cavill, who stars as Superman in the upcoming "Man of Steel". Insiders say Warners were greatly encouraged by the positive responses to early screenings of the Zack Snyder film, and are finding a way for Nolan to work with Snyder and the two stars for "Justice League". Further speculation says that a jumping-off point to justify bringing back Bale's Batman is that at the end of "The Dark Knight Rises" the nuclear bomb that was detonated off the coast of Gotham City has had far-reaching repercussions. Possibly inviting unwanted attention from extraterrestrial forces (Darks ...
The Justice League movie was going through a lot of problems and hope for the movie's success started dwindling... until we heard The Dark Knight trilogy's director Christopher Nolan is in talks to possibly produce the film. Could this be Justice League's saving grace? Possibly.
There are lots of rumours revolving around the new Superman movie, the Justice League movie and a new Batman movie. According to a report from Latino Review ( a big movie site that breaks a lot of movie news) not only will Christian Bale be in the new Justice League movie, but now Christopher Nolan will be involved in a producer type role, and Zack Snyder (who is directing Man of Steel) could be involved he might even direct the new Justice League movie.
It is, without question, the biggest story in the history of superhero cinema. Christopher Nolan is in talks to "Godfather" DC on film and produce a "Justice League" movie to be written by David Go...
JJ Abrams has both Star Trek and Star Wars. Joss Whedon is running Marvel films. And now Christopher Nolan is rumored to be in control of DC films and the upcoming Justice League. The nerds are running the asylum now.
I just heard some of the best movie news I have heard this year! Apparently, Warner Bros. have given Christopher Nolan the role of overseeing ALL of their superhero projects. What I have learned is that he will do a Justice League, shortly after Man of Steel is released, with Christian Bale playing Batman and Henry Cavill playing Superman. This totally just blew my mind! :D
So rumors are going around about Christian Bale still being Batman in Justice League and that Christopher Nolan might be getting involved too. Yes. This is news that I wanted.
RUMOR ALERT: Warner Bros. has commissioned Christopher Nolan to be their Joss Whedon to oversee ALL their superhero properties. For his new status, Nolan has become the new producer for the failed Justice League project with a possibility that Christian Bale will return as Batman to join Henry Cavill's Superman for the movie (Take all of this with a grain of salt.nothing has been confirmed)
Awesome movie news. Christian Bale to return as Batman with Christopher Nolan producing a Justice League movie. Please let this be true.
Just like Joss Whedon is god to all nerds with Marvel. Christopher Nolan will be to DC. Great things ahead. Like it was rumor long time.
Remember all that talk about Christopher Nolan ending his Batman story with "The Dark Knight Rises" last summer? Well, it seems as though Warner Bros. and even Christopher Nolan himself forgot all ...

mashup. Lea Thompson and SJP are in a city...directed by Christopher Nolan.
Christopher Nolan will reportedly direct Interstellar a twisty new science-fiction action thriller film based on a script by his younger brother Jonathan Nolan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christopher Nolan signed on for the film after months of negotiations. The trade paper was the first to report the news of Christopher Nolan's involvement with "Interstellar." If "Interstellar" sounds familiar, that's because you have a great memory. The film was first reported on back in 2006, when Steven Spielberg was attached to direct; Jonathan Nolan came on to write the screenplay in 2007. As late as 2010, the idea was still in play for those two to collaborate. According to the initial reports, "Interstellar" was based on "a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity. His theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel intrigued Spielberg, who attended a Caltech workshop on the subject with Thorne and other scientists." Per THR, that logline has basically ...
A fictionalized world entirely created by a director with the high support of updated technology provides more impact to the audience than a normal film shot in actual location can do...
