There are lots of (short term) options. Garrett Olson and Chris Schwinden both have ML experience. Or Dylan Owen and Jeremy Hefner.

The Mets and Dillon Gee caught a bad break when it was found out that Gee had a blood clot in his right shoulder after feeling tingling and numbess in his right hand. While Gee is being treated for the problem and is expected back in hopefully a month, I do not want the Mets to rush Matt Harvey or Zack Wheeler to the big leagues. Harvey and Wheeler are for 2013 and I would leave that alone. Instead the Mets could go outside the orginization and look at Jon Garland or Javier Vasquez. Both guys have not pitched this year, but are more than adequate replacements for Gee. I don't like the Chris Schwinden, Jeremy Hefner idea either, as both have shown inconsistency. Sandy Alderson could also look into Kyle Davies and Armando Galarraga who also are both sitting home waiting for jobs. In either case, leave Harvey and Wheeler in AAA.
