Star Trek Into Darkness - what to say? Some good twists, even though I saw 'em coming, the usual Abrams lens-flare binge, some really good homage to the first movies, the realization Chris Pine is only a year or so younger than The Shat when he first became (and never un-became) Kirk, and Quinto finally nailed Spock. I'm about to forgive the first movie for the 'cadet-to-captain-in-24-hours' thing, and if it isn't as smart as the old TV show (hard to beat writers like Harlan Ellison), it's better in every other way (Karl Urban's Bones and Zoe Saldana's Uhura blow my mind, with Urban out-Deforresting Deforrest Kelley). Kiddo's mind was blown, and with the small artisan touches Abrams bumps in, Star Wars VII may very well be 'a new hope.' Plus, you won't see any mullets harmed in the making of the movie, but if you remember the second film, you'll see a lot of really familiar things, and Benedict Cumberbatch really ate the stage.
