Somewhere's between John Wayne (wasn't his real name), Charlton Heston, Chuck Connors, Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, Andy Griffith and James Arness, maybe they lost themselves in the myriad TV and movie manuscripts and forgot there was a world outside where these folks are only characters that they play in movies. Actors. They got so caught up in it, they even elected one of them President. Now they got reality show stars they are mimicking, too; ducks, and whatever else they can pull out of the trash can. Not to disparage the actors. They were VERY good at what they did, but they have this whole force of Republicans who actually don't know these folks were only ACTING in TV/movie roles.
Listening to them talk about Peer O'Toole, I was wondering what the top ten male movie roles have been? Whatever criteria you choose. I can start with a few not in order 1. Peter O'Toole as Lawrence of Arabia 2. Marlon Brando in Godfather 3. Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront 4. Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca 5. Orson Welles (Citizan Kane or Touch of Evil) 6. Charlton Heston- Moses. 7. Harrison Ford (maybe) Star Wars 8. John Wayne period 9. Clint Eastwood period 9.5 Alec Guiness as Colonel Nicholson in Bridge on the River Kwai 10. Debating Woody Allen in Annie Hall or Sort of John Belushi as Bluto Butarsky Other thoughts? I know I missed a ton of great ones. Have to think about woman's roles also.
Yeah it's awful how liberal Hollywood wrecks careers of conservatives like Clint Eastwood and Charlton Heston, o…
James Woods, Dennis Miller, Jon Voight, Charlton Heston, and Clint Eastwood. Conservative men with spines and hearts of gold
over/under on hours left before Ted Cruz just starts saying lines from random Charlton Heston and Clint Eastwood movies?
In the 1980s, Charlton Heston considered starring in a remake of this film (it would've also starred Clint Eastwood)-
It's common knowledge that most of Hollywood is Liberal. Sure Robert De Niro is a great actor, but the real iconic actors like Clark Gable, John Wayne, Charlton Heston, Clint Eastwood and Robert Duval to name a few, were, or are Conservatives. But the big difference, in their 'prime'---they kept their mouths shut. Can't say that for the Liberals, especially today. And this holds true with most celebrities today, regardless of what profession they are engaged in.
Things my Democrat friends may find disturbing about me (and Republican friends may find surprising): 1)-I like Ronald Reagan movies. 2)-I read Reagan's Letters book. And I liked it. 3)-I like Charlton Heston movies. 4)-I like Clint Eastwood movies. 5)-I sometimes vote for Republicans. Not often, but sometimes...mostly in local or state elections, if I know the candidate. But I will vote for a person I like, regardless of party. 6)-I think Tom Selleck is cool. 7)-(Perhaps most shocking) I think Sarah Palin is attractive. Until she opens her mouth. Then I want to get far away, very quickly! 8)-I really want the Republican party to recover from the missteps of the last few years, and come back as a national party. We desperately need two parties, with competing ideas!
TOUGH ON THE SCREEN Keith Garrett Heroes or bad guys, they played them all, These stars of the movies, where are they now. A man named Cagney, Edward G. Robinson too, John Garfield, Audie Murphy was quite a hero. Jack Palance, a tough man for sure, John Wayne, the duke was a man of strength. Clint Walker and Richard Boone, big as can be, Forrest tucker, James Coburn, men of the screen. Marlon Brando had a name as big as life, James Dean was a rebel, Richard Widmark was mean. Hollywoodphobic when it's not Patricia Heaton or Stephen Baldwin or Clint Eastwood or Charlton Heston or John Wayne or, etc.
GUN CONTROL. "I have a love interest in every one of my films - a gun." - Arnold Schwarzenegger "I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it." - Clint Eastwood "The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose." - James Earl Jones "To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." - Ted Nugent "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity." - Sigmund Freud "An armed society is a polite society." - Robert Heinlein "There are no dangerous weapons. There are only dangerous men." - Robert A. Heinlein "Among other evils which being unarmed brings you, it causes you to be despised." - Charlton Heston "We would just go out and line up a bu ...
HERO Enrique Iglesias, Mariah Carey, Nickelback and Skillet have songs about THIS. Jet Li starred in a movie about THIS. Last night we saw THIS in the movie The Life of Pi. Others including Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Russell Crowe, Sylvester Stallone and yes even Andy Griffith have acted and portrayed roles about THIS. In real life situations Nathan Hale, Paul Revere, Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett were THIS. According to Webster’s THIS is defined as an illustrious warrior, one who shows great courage and a man admired for his achievements. What is THIS? I will tell you what THIS is…. THIS is a man, Husband and Father, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Mike Ditty. A HERO of The United States Army. That’s what THIS is. Speaking for myself, I have never known someone close to me personally that serves our country, that has gone to war for our country… a person who is willing to risk everything while I take a lackadais ...

If Obama gets re-elected he'll surely have options as an all out action hero in the very best movie roles post-presidency after beating up the likes of Clint Eastwood, Ah-nold Schwartzenegger, Sylvestor Stallone, Bruce Willis, Charlton Heston, Chuck Norris, Howard Stern, Darth Vader, and Dee Snyder.
Clint Eastwood has assumed the role the late Charlton Heston displayed with his affiliation with the NRA. Unfortunate.
If Charlton Heston, Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood were locked in a room, would there be anyone there?
Clint Eastwood, because Charlton Heston wasn't available. Republicans claim to the convention.
How times, and people, can change: In 1973, when Charlton Heston had a flat tire on his way to host the Academy Awards ceremony, Clint Eastwood was asked to fill in. He wondered why they chose him, saying, "Who did they get? A guy who hasn't said three lines in twelve movies."
Dirty Harry, for example. Clint Eastwood was not a rogue cop. He was a maverick cop, but he was a good guy. -Charlton Heston
Clint Eastwood: I prefer to remember Clint Eastwood as "The Man With No Name" instead of the insane Charlton Heston guy we've seen over the last few years...If it sounds like I am describing Clint Eastwood in the past tense, I am, because he is now dead to me. He looks like a cadaver, talks like a cadaver...he's a cadaver.
"Why did Clint Eastwood remind me of Charlton Heston in "Bowling for Columbine."" via
I think that Clint Eastwood was doing his best Charlton Heston impersonation.
“Point out that Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston, and Ronald Regan were UNION MEMBERS” ...
I always thought of Clint Eastwood as a bigger star than Charlton Heston. Wonder why he decided to step into his cold ...
Sad performance by Clint Eastwood at Poor guy thought he was at a tribute to Charlton Heston.
Who needs Charlton Heston when you have Clint Eastwood around?
Can somebody explain to me the difference between Clint Eastwood and Charlton Heston?
What is a Clint Eastwood? A Charlton Heston...my cold dead hands...
Clint Eastwood, the closest thing the GOP could find to Charlton Heston, loves guns and is old as Moses.
Clint Eastwood has become the new Charlton Heston. Yikes.
I think they wanted Charlton Heston to speak and decided Clint Eastwood would be just as good.
It's good to see Clint Eastwood filling the 'crazy old fart right winger' role that Charlton Heston left vacant a few years back.
The part of Charlton Heston will now be played by Clint Eastwood. All other roles go to the chair.
Clint Eastwood is the poor man's Charlton Heston
When did Clint Eastwood turn into Charlton Heston? *** dirty chair!!! Talk to me!!!" ¥:0)*
"I blinked and Clint Eastwood became the next Charlton Heston."
Two immediate reactions to Clint Eastwood's Tampa performance... 1. He works best with a script, 2. Charlton Heston
It bummed me out this morning when I realized how much funnier it would have been with Charlton Heston instead of Clint Eastwood.
Really hope Clint Eastwood isn't turning into a bonkers right wing loon like Charlton Heston did.
I've got a box called 'things I used to like'. Just put Clint Eastwood in it next to Charlton Heston.
I was thinking this morning about the Clint Eastwood speech and it got me to consider the Hollywood factor that has become so prevalent in the political arena. For instance the libs have Sean Penn, Jason Biggs (not that he is much of a star), Brad Pitt, Susan Sarandon, Woody Allen, Rosie O’Donnell, George Clooney, Michael Moore, and Tim Robins. In the conservative corner we have Clint Eastwood, Tom Selleck, Charlton Heston, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, the Govenator, Sly Stallone and of course Chuck Norris. So the question is, “How can we loose?”
It's almost humorous to hear the negativity today from the liberal media about Clint Eastwood's appearance and performance at the GOP last night. Has there ever been a president with more "star-studded" support from Hollywood celebrities than Barack Obama? (George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Susan Sarandon, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwen Stefani.it goes on and on. ) Matt Damon did wise up and finally admit his disappointment in Obama. Clint might be in his 80's now but he still spoke the raw and pure facts on Obama's failed presidency. (which is probably why the liberal media feels the strong need to attack today) That's fine, Clint still has what it takes to make our day today.tomorrow.and any day he shows up! He's our John Wayne/Charlton Heston.
He has been and always will be my favorite actor. He just delivered one of the best speeches I have seen. I am still laughing my *** off. We need more John Wayne's, Charlton Heston's, and Clint Eastwood's!!!
New prediction: RNC mystery speaker will be Clint Eastwood. Or Charlton Heston's hologram.
simplysuave: Clint Eastwood and Charlton Heston looking simply suave.
I just find it fascinating how most of the Hollywood tough guys, and gals are republicans. lol Let's see you have Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, Jim Caviezel, Gary Sinise, Angie Harmon, and Charlton Heston. On a further note all those who have mad respect for Chuck Norris, I have news for you. He is a born again Christian. This guy is who he is today because of Jesus Christ.
John Wayne,Charlton Heston, Billy Graham and now Clint Eastwood has spoke, they are truly patriots and great americans!
Looks like Clint Eastwood is the new Charlton Heston.
