Results: New York Jets 19 Oakland Raiders 14 Geno Smith 23/28, 221yds, TD, INT Chris Ivory 10 Rushes, 102yds, TD Eric Decker 5 Rec, 74yds It was surprising that the Jets didn't score more points in this game but Geno Smith had an interception which was not his fault but a terrific play by veteran Charles Woodson and a fumble that was recovered by Oakland however apart from that Geno Smith is looking more fundamentally sound and looked good. The Jets Running Backs were a force today combining for 174 yards and 2TDs including a 71 yard TD run by Chris Ivory. The Jets defence flustered rookie QB Derek Carr and even though they only had 2 sacks they looked good without Dee Milliner. In saying that though Carr had 2TD passes and 151 yards completing 20/32 of his passes which is relatively good for his first start. The Oakland Running Backs were very quiet today and were a non feature really combining for 26 yards. The Jets will be another dark horse in the AFC I think and head to Green Bay next week. Green Bay Packers safety Charles Woodson will remain sidelined for this week's showdown against the rival Chicago Bears, coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. Woodson has missed Green Bay's last six games due to a broken collarbone. The eight-time Pro Bowler had hoped to return for this Sunday's game, but McCarthy admitted that Green Bay's medical staff felt it would be better for Woodson to sit. McCarthy said that Woodson, 36, is frustrated because he is "ready to play" despite missing Wednesday's practice. The Packers defeated the Bears, 23-10, in the first meeting between the NFC North's top teams on Sep. 13. Woodson recorded one of Green Bay's four interceptions in the contest and made disparaging comments about Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler in a postgame interview with ESPN. McCarthy also said that linebacker Clay Matthews, who has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury, is expected to play Sunday. Although Matthews practiced Wednesday, McCarthy stated that Thursday's practice would be the ...

Remember this name when the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears for "Thursday Night Football": Randall Cobb. The Packers have more familiar faces in Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews, B.J. Raji, Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley and Jordy Nelson. Oh, and there's that Aaron Rodgers guy. But it's Cobb who is the newest toy in coach Mike McCarthy's high-scoring offense
Tuesday, December 27, 2011 Even Santa Thinks The Bears Suck Santa Claus could very well have brought an actual quarterback to Lambeau Field for the Chicago Bears' Christmas present this year. Instead they got an adequate one from the recycling bin, who still had a few interceptions left in him. He also could have brought them some defensive backs that don't suck. But he hasn't figured out how to clone Charles Woodson yet. He could have kept their playoff hopes alive. But title hopes in Chicago never live long. Neither does anything else, for that matter, like hope, success, optimism, a smile or things that are good. In fact Santa doesn't even visit Chicago anymore because, as was evident in Christmas Day's NFL match up between the Bears and the Green Bay Packers, the Bears suck; and even Santa knows it. It used to be that Santa stopped going to Illinois because on his way down from the north pole every year, he would have to pass through Wisconsin first. And every year the Cheeseheads, all of whom are arm ...
