Catholic Church & Roman Empire

The Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, is, with over a billion members, the world's largest Christian Church. The Roman Empire was the post-Republican period of the ancient Roman civilization, characterised by an autocratic form of government and large territorial holdings in Europe and around the Mediterranean. 5.0/5

The Catholic Church makes tradition above or equal to Scripture, but in actuality many of its traditions actually stem from pagan sun worship. Its teachings, beliefs and practices come from Mithraism—a form of paganism that existed in Babylonian times. These pagan practices are symbols of apostasy against God. Of this, the Twentieth Century Encyclopedia of Catholicism says the following:The missionary history of the [Catholic] Church clearly shows her adaptability to all races, all continents, all nations. In her liturgy and her art, in her tradition and the forming of her doctrine, naturally enough she includes Jewish elements, but also elements that are of pagan origin. In certain respects, she has copied her organization from that of the Roman Empire, has preserved and made fruitful the philosophical intuitions of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, borrowed from both Barbarians and the Byzantine Roman Empire—but always remains herself, thoroughly digesting all elements drawn from external sources...In h ...
Germany as a distinct region in central Europe can be traced to Roman commander Julius Caesar, who referred to the unconquered area east of the Rhine as Germania, thus distinguishing it from Gaul (France), which he had conquered. The victory of the Germanic tribes in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest (AD 9) prevented annexation by the Roman Empire. Following the fall of the Roman Empire, the Franks conquered the other West Germanic tribes. When the Frankish Empire was divided among Charlemagne's heirs in 843, the eastern part became East Francia. In 962, Otto I became the first emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, the medieval German state. In the High Middle Ages, the dukes and princes of the empire gained power at the expense of the emperors. Martin Luther led the Protestant Reformation against the Catholic Church after 1517, as the northern states became Protestant, while the southern states remained Catholic. The two parts of the Holy Roman Empire clashed in the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648), which wa ...
The America you used to know does not exist any longer. Civilizations, Arnold Toynbee believed, arose when "creative minorities" devised solutions to the great crisis of the age. They perished when they failed to resolve that crisis. After the collapse of the Roman Empire and the barbarian invasions, Toynbee concluded, the Catholic Church had solved the crisis of the age: disunity and chaos. It had done so by creating a new religious community out of which grew a new civilization and culture. Thus began the history of Christendom. From the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries, the West wrote the history of the world. Out of the Christian countries of Europe came the explorers, the missionaries, the conquerors, the colonizers, who, by the twentieth century, ruled virtually the entire world. But the passing of the West had begun. Spain's empire was the first to fall. America delivered the coup de grâce in 1898. But it was the Thirty Years' War of 1914-1945, the Civil War of Western Civilization, that infli ...
Interesting to see Pope Francis featured on this evening's ABC-TV Four Corners program. This man has most deservedly garnered an enormous level of public support, including MY admiration for his humility and ideals. He is truly an Icon that inspires many people in 3rd world countries and heavily deprived societies to hang on his every word. Despite occupying the highest office in the Holy Catholic church, this man is truly a Renegade in the system and seems determined to clean up Vatican financial affairs and get rid of corruption on so many levels. It puzzles me, just how this most intelligent man accepts the Catholic Church dogma, -- or maybe -- he actually DOSEN'T ? I certainly hope that he dosen't. It would NOT be necessary to believe in the Bible in order to do the excellent job that he is so capably doing It is alleged that he has strong enemies in the Vatican and how could it be otherwise for such a declared opponent of the Roman Curia ? The roots of this matter go right back to the Roman Empire. . ...
The Catholic Church hindered science for 1000 years! How many times have you heard this statement? How many of you think that because the Catholic Church, humankind fell behind more than a millennia in scientific achievement during the Middle Ages? Much all of this belief comes from what people sees or read in the media and from the opinion of groups or individuals with an ideological agenda. The truth is that you couldn’t be more wrong. Not only the Catholic Church wasn’t responsible for the deadlock that occurred during the Middle Ages, but it was pretty much THE ONLY INSTITUTION that made a colossal effort to collect, protect, preserve, copy and distribute the scientific knowledge that survived the fall of the Roman Empire. Not only that, the Catholic Church was an institution that actually ADVANCED science during those troublesome times and set the table for a real advancement in human knowledge and created the foundation of the modern scientific development that’s been rolling up to this day. Vatican secrets brought to light , during an interview given to the Romanian TV channel, TVR Cluj, by Miceal Ledwith, former adviser of the Pope John-Paul II, former dean of Saint Patrick Diocesan College of Wexford, former President of Conferences of Heads of Irish Universities and former member of Management Bureau of the Conference of Rectors of European Universities, makes a shocking statement: ” Although it is well known that Latin is the official language of the Catholic Church and, also, the language of the Roman Empire, and Romanian is a latin language but, few people know that Romanian language or, its precursor, comes from the place where Latin stems from, and not vice-versa. Briefly, I want to greet the people from the Bucegi Mountains, from Brasov, from Bucharest. It is you who have provided a wonderful vehicle to the Western World ( Latin language). You can see this declaration in the following video, starting with 52:21 min. Which reminds us the speech of the Pope Jean-Paul II during his v ...
From Catholic Bible 101 Many people erroneously believe that the dark ages were caused by the Catholic Church and its hatred of science/love of superstition, and its dominant control of the mind of man during what has been called the “medieval” or “dark ages.” But nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, just the opposite is true. So put your brain in high gear and let’s learn real history, not what the protestants taught after the Reformation – huge lies about history for the express purpose of putting down the Catholic Church so as to make themselves look like “the enlightenment.” Many of these erroneous teachings are still being taught as fact today, and good people have come to believe this wicked deception as the truth. CATHOLICS AND SCIENCE Ancient Rome was the center of culture, science, logic, and reasoning during its heyday, but all of that came to a screeching halt in 410 AD, when the Visigoths sacked Rome, and the Roman Empire came to an end. The roots of the corporation go back deep into history, the word "corporation" derives from corpus, the Latin word for body, or a "body of people". The structure of corporations existed in ancient Roman and the ancient Indian Empire of Maurya, and continued into the modern world from its ancient existence, from the evolution of the failed brutal Roman Empire, as it collapsed under the exploitations of usury, transforming into the blind faith and mental enslavement of the Roman Catholic Church, the largest corporation in the world, as it incorporates many subordinate corporations within it.

atholic tradition holds that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ. The New Testament records Jesus' activities and teaching, his appointment of the twelve Apostles, and his instructions to them to continue his work.[7][8] The Catholic Church teaches that the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, in an event known as Pentecost, signaled the beginning of the public ministry of the Church.[9] Peter is also thought to be Rome's first bishop and the consecrator of Linus as its next bishop, thus starting the line which includes the most current pontiff, Pope Francis. Conditions in the Roman Empire facilitated the spread of new ideas. The empire's well-defined network of roads and waterways allowed easier travel, while the Pax Romana made it safe to travel from one region to another. The government had encouraged inhabitants, especially those in urban areas, to learn Greek, and the common language allowed ideas to be more easily expressed and understood.[10] Jesus's apostles gained converts in ...
he Catholic Church no longer officially honors St. Valentine, but the holiday has both Roman and Catholic roots. The Origins of St. Valentine’s Day A quick quiz: St. Valentine was: a) a priest in the Roman Empire who helped persecuted Christians during the reign of Claudius II, was thrown in jail and later beheaded on Feb. 14. b) a Catholic bishop of Terni who was beheaded, also during the reign of Claudius II. c) someone who secretly married couples when marriage was forbidden, or suffered in Africa, or wrote letters to his jailer's daughter, and was probably beheaded. d) all, some, or possibly none of the above. If you guessed d), give yourself a box of chocolates. Although the mid-February holiday celebrating love and lovers remains wildly popular, the confusion over its origins led the Catholic Church, in 1969, to drop St. Valentine's Day from the Roman calendar of official, worldwide Catholic feasts. (Those highly sought-after days are reserved for saints with more clear historical record. Afte ...
First, I am a Nazarene in the sense that I was born and lived in Nazareth and I belong to the Roman Orthodox Church which by mistake is called the Greek Orthodox Church. The source of the name is derived from the Eastern Roman Empire after the division of the greater Roman Empire. The language being used in the New Testament, though is was written during the Roman Empire reign and not the Greek Empire, is due to the fact that the Roman Empire kept the legal and scholar as official language the Greek language. I do believe that the Eastern Church is united and is one. but it differs from the Catholic Church for not having a pope position, because each Patriarchate has its autonomy in ruling its territory but they all practice the same Tradition, the same Liturgy, and the same Rules. This is a very rich Church and I am proud of being a member of such a wonderful Church. The original Church Patriarchate in Jerusalem was headed first by St. Jacob Brother of Jesus, and was succeeded by same people until the Ch ...
PROBLEMS WITH ADVENTIST CLAIMS ABOUT THE MARK OF THE BEAST:1. Is the Catholic Church the "bad guy" in Bible prophecy? Much of Seventh-day Adventist end-time prophecy revolves around making Catholicism out to be the great and evil persecuting power of Bible prophecy described in Daniel 7. The facts are that it simply does not fit the vision of Daniel 7 for several reasons. First, the terrible beast of Daniel 7 has "10 horns", which Adventists say represents ten tribes that conquered the Roman Empire. There are several problems with this theory. To begin with, horns on top of a beast's head always indicate the leaders or kings of the same empire, never a new empire or new power. For example, in Daniel 8, a large horn grows upon the goat's head, and that horn is understood by all to be Alexandar the Great, ruler of the Greek (goat) empire. The Bible clearly says the ten are "kings" and not "kingdoms". These "kings" could not possibly refer to the ten tribes, because the ten tribes were bitter enemies of the ...
Why the 25th of December? Ever heard of AstroTheology? Sol Invictus ("the undefeated Sun") or, more fully, Deus Sol Invictus ("the undefeated sun god") was a religious title applied to at least three distinct divinities during the later Roman Empire; El Gabal, Mithras, and Sol. A festival of the birth of the Unconquered Sun (or Dies Natalis Solis Invicti) was celebrated by the Romans on December 25th. On this, the first day after the six day solar standstill of the winter solstice, the duration of daylight first begins to increase, as the sun once again begins its sunrise movement toward the North, interpreted as the "rebirth" of the sun. With the growing popularity of Christianity, Jesus of Nazareth came to be given much of the recognition previously given to a sun god, thereby including Christ in the tradition. This was later condemned by the early Catholic Church for associating Christ with pagan practices. - is the study of the astronomical origins of religion; how gods, goddesses, and demons are per ...
Islam was created by the evil Roman Catholic Church !! so the Pope can kill all the true Christians and Jews. The Quran was a doctrine from the Roman Empire ...
This is the kind of puke the Roman Empire is spewing into the streets. They were protesting the power of the Catholic church to kill anyone who disagreed with them; the unbiblical nature of Roman Catholicism; the fraud of calling a man "father" in place of God Almighty; The 30 Years' War in which the RCC killed 30 million Christians; The Spanish Inquisition which killed tens of millions more.
The secret of Jesus' actual entombment According to the Divine Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Papacy or the extension of the Roman Empire, wanted to claim the body of Jesus which was guarded and protected by the Muslims. We are further taught the secret of Jesus' actual entombment being placed in a special glass tube or encasement reflecting light in four directions making it impossible for anyone to know the exact spot where his body is laid. This reminds me of the adventurous novel and film by Dan Brown titled, “The DaVinci Code” and of “Angels and Demons” which has caused so much controversy today in the Vatican and among the Catholic Church on this subject surrounding Jesus and his Disciples.
Primus inter pares When not used in reference to a specific title, it may indicate that the person so described is formally equal, but looked upon as an authority of special importance by their peers. However, in some cases it may also be used to indicate that while the person described appears to be an equal, that person actually is the group's unofficial or hidden leader, and thus the reference to this person being "equal" to the rest is intended to project mutual respect and camaraderie. The term is used with reference to the Roman Emperors' way of reducing the appearance of dictatorship (which was particularly important during the early Roman Empire to appease those who may have longed for a return to the old Roman Republic; see Princeps). Other examples include the Prime Minister of many parliamentary regimes, the President of the European Commission, the Chief Justice of the United States, and some religious figures, such as the Dean of the College of Cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church, or the E ...
POINTS TO PONDER. Jesus said "If you love me keep my commandments John 14:15 The Venerable Day of the Sun (SUNDAY) first day of the week SUN PAGAN WORSHIP... Religion of Roman Empire genesis of SUNDAY KEEPING The Catholic Mirror of September 23, 1894, puts it this way: “The Catholic Church for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday. from Cardinal Gibbons’ book, The Question Box, p.179, “If the Bible is the only guide for the Christian, then the Seventh-day Adventist is right in observing Saturday with the Jew. Is it not strange that those who make the Bible their only teacher should inconsistently follow in this matter the tradition of the Catholic Church?”
SUNDAY THE CHRISTIAN SABBATH: (I Corinthians 16:2) The disciples of Moses teach that the Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday by Constantine, 321 A.D., and by the Catholic Church, 364 A.D. The following facts from history prove that they are historically wrong: 1. The Encyclopedia Britannica under "Sabbath" and "Sunday" says, "In the early Christian Church JEWISH CHRISTIANS continued to keep the Sabbath, like other points of the Law.On the other hand, Paul from the first days of GENTILE CHRISTIANITY, laid it down definitely that the Jewish Sabbath was not binding on Christians. Controversy with Judaizers led in process of time to direct condemnation of those who still kept the Jewish day...In 321 A.D. Constantine made the Christian Sabbath, Sunday, the rest day for the Roman Empire, but it was observed by Christians for nearly 300 years before it became a law by Constantine." see part 2.
So THAT is what Revelation means about the beast with the 10 horns! It will be within the Roman Empire that the great abomination will rise up against Me. Babylon, home of the Roman Empire and where the nations which have abandoned God in favour of false gods are located, will be the seat from which all lies will spew forth. The beast with the ten horns is Europe and in Rome an army will rise up against Me. They will be responsible, yet again, for the crucifixion before the Great Day. They will bring about the final insult, when they crucify and destroy My Mystical Body on Earth. My Body is My Church. Those who separate from My Body, by choosing to follow a new doctrine, will betray Me and yet they will have the nerve to stand up and say that they come from Me. On that day when the new One World religion is made known, which will be endorsed by sections within the Catholic Church, as foretold, the skies will darken and a great thunder will descend upon the Earth. It will be as it was the second I drew My ...
Is Catholicism Pagan? If few Fundamentalists know the history of their religion—which distressingly few do—even fewer have an appreciation of the history of the Catholic Church. They become easy prey for purveyors of fanciful "histories" that claim to account for the origin and advance of Catholicism. Anti-Catholics often suggest that Catholicism did not exist prior to the Edict of Milan, which was issued in 313 AD and made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire. With this, pagan influences began to contaminate the previously untainted Christian Church. In no time, various inventions adopted from paganism began to replace the gospel that had been once for all delivered to the saints. At least, that is the theory. Pagan Influence Fallacy Opponents of the Church often attempt to discredit Catholicism by attempting to show similarities between it and the beliefs or practices of ancient paganism. This fallacy is frequently committed by Fundamentalists against Catholics, by Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah ...
APPEARED IN Should You Believe in the Trinity? More than two billion people profess to be Christian. Most belong to churches that teach the Trinity—the doctrine that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit together form one God. How did the Trinity become an official doctrine? More important, is this teaching in harmony with the Bible? THE Bible was completed in the first century C.E. Teachings that led to the development of the Trinity began to be officially formulated in 325 C.E.—more than two centuries later—at a council in the city of Nicaea in Asia Minor, now Iznik, Turkey. According to the New Catholic Encyclopedia, the creed attributed to the Council of Nicaea set out the first official definition of ‘Christian orthodoxy,’ including the definition of God and Christ. Why, though, was it deemed necessary to define God and Christ centuries after the Bible was completed? Is the Bible unclear on these important topics? IS JESUS GOD? When Constantine became sole ruler of the Roman Empire, prof ...
The new Roman Catholic Pope Francis's comments in his homily yesterday, including atheists along with Christians on the road to "salvation," have been headlined around the world, and commented upon by many Christian and non-Christian op-ed writers. Pope Francis is the first Pope from the religious Order of the "Society of Jesus" (Jesuits), whose priests through the centuries have vied with the Dominican Order priests for the intellectual leadership and scholarship within Catholic communities. Since its formation in the fourth century (325 A.D.), the Catholic Church wielded a level of control over information and writing that today is nearly inconceivable; 1,641 years of censorship through 1966. With the collapse of the Roman Empire and the schism of the Church that divided the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faiths, the Catholic Church found itself in the unique position of having control over the creation and distribution of the written word. Painstakingly copied by monastic scribes, books were rare, prize ...

I am Craig Nigel Reading, just a 33 year old *** man who is HIV positive. I also would consider myself a peaceful new age shaman. Despite all my efforts to be an integrated person who fits and belongs in this world, I have become quite aware of forces in the world that oppose the natural order, the peace and the creator who is fully integrated with the creation. These words I now address to the originating institution and people I find responsible for atrocities and disorder and chaos and intentioned war mongering. I know who you claim to work for, it is not the creator. This institution has through the many years been chiefly responsible for mass genocide, corruption, abuse and war crimes. This institution is called the Catholic Church. It is understood that this institution has used propaganda, lies and cheating in order to divide and conquer all people. For that it embodies the savage principles of the Roman Empire.  The truth is that in the Christian mission is the principle of warfare in the mind to ...
Christian anarchism. That'll be the focus of my master's degrees and doctorate and it'll be my life's work once I graduate. Today I met with my school's dean of academics to make sure it was a feasible topic of study. I am going to study what the Bible has to say about our relationship with the State, what the early church practiced (Hint: They weren't martyred for being meek, mild Christians but because they were subversive dissenters who practiced their faith in such a way that they didn't get along with the Roman Empire), how we've gone horribly wrong with the creation of a parallel state (the Catholic Church) and civil religions, and what movements have worked or are working towards similar ends. Then I'll be bringing it to the people while living by its ideals. If Christianity is more than a mere opiate, if it is supposed to do more than just make us feel good, if we are supposed to gird ourselves with our faith and make the world a better place, then we need to look evil in the face and resist it. A ...

My questions, more questions, little answers. Why is Catholic Church called Roman Catholic even proudly in Africa. does it mean we adopted Roman culture disregarding our own? Is it true the Bible and the Qur'an came about as a result of Roman battle of supremacy? Why didn't the Bible record events in other parts of the world, just only the area within Roman dominates? Why are all the founders of the modern world Catholics and of Roman origin? Didn't the Romans prepared the Bible Why is King James version of the Bible more popular after the defeat of Roman Empire? Isn't it true that King James was the king who broke away from the Roman culture? How come the Bible the God of Israel and not of Mexico or Iran talkless of Nigeria or Abeokuta? Share if you don't know the answers. Its your James.
These are progressive news. SAPA reports that Great Britain's most senior Roman Catholic Cleric has called on his church to allow its priests to get married and have children. Cardinal Keith O'Brien, who himself is a candidate to replace Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany better known as Pope Benedict XVI, is the head of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland says the requirement for priestly celibacy in the Roman Catholic Church is "not of divine origin" and must be reconsidered. Cardinal O'Brien who was interviewed by BBC Scotland is quoted as saying; "the celibacy of the clergy, whether priests should marry - Jesus didn't say that". Wow. Impressive. I wish the Cardinal would have also gone onto say that going to church on a Sunday (Sunday Worship) also has no biblical basis whatsover. It is just one of the many "rules" or practices imposed by the pagan Roman Empire through the Catholic Church. He goes on to say he would be "very happy" if priests were allowed to marry. Cardinal O'Brien will form part ...
It breaks my heart when people talk trash about the Catholic Church. As if it's the most evil thing in the world. Let us remind you what our religion has done. The Church regained order to the world when the Roman Empire fell and the world fell into chaos. Science as we know it now have been developed in the last 2000 years mainly by Catholic and other Christian scientists. The western musical notations as we know it today was developed by Catholic priests. For example, a Catholic monk started the do re mi musical notations. The Church started hospitals and universities in the Western World. They started soup kitchens and has produced more charity groups to help the poor than any other organisations in the world. I could go on and on but the point is made. Please stop bashing our great religion. The Church has helped the world more than you can ever imagine.
ECUMENICAL ? INTER-FAITH ??? LOOKS LIKE THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY TO ME! The rise of the city of Rome as the world's foremost center of Satan worship and devil cults. The list of high-ranking churchmen who secretly are Masons, compiled by the editor-in-chief of The Vatican Observer newspaper in Rome. Reports that the current pontiff, Pope John Paul II, is a high Mason. Why does he worship the "black virgin?" Why did he allow a statue of Buddha to be placed on the altar of a Catholic chapel in Assissi, Italy? The new commemorative coin issued by the Vatican, which pictures the image of Pope John Paul II, uses ancient Roman Empire lettering, and includes three pagan stars of six points each, signifying 6-6-6. Satan worship and dark rituals by decadent Protestant clergymen in New York, London, and San Francisco. Will today's ecumenical Protestant Church link up with the Catholic Church to produce the prophesied Antichrist, the Beast of Revelation?
The Historic Irony of Valentine's Day, from the book next to my toilet... This "lover's holiday" is an anomaly. It was actually an effort by the Catholic Church to KEEP teenagers from becoming lovers. Before Christ was born, it was a Roman tradition for teenage girls and boys to gather every February in the name of Lupercus, god of the flocks, to celebrate fertility and randomly choose a "mate" for the year. They were permitted to do anything they liked together (and what else would teenagers do?). When Christians gained power in the Roman Empire, they wanted to bring this practice to an end. So they selected a substitute for Lupercus - St. Valentine, a bishop who had reputedly been tortured and executed by Emperor Claudius II in 270 A.D. for performing marriages after Claudius had outlawed them. This symbol of more "wholesome" love was reluctantly accepted by the Romans. But just to be sure no one gave in to temptation, the Catholic Church made it a mortal sin to worship Lupercus. Eventually, Vale ...
Valentine’s Day On 14 February each year, millions of people give candies, chocolates, flowers and gifts to their loved ones, all in the name of Saint Valentine’s Day or more commonly known as Valentine’s Day. Now, who is this saint whose name is the reason for the celebration and, to borrow Mario Balotelli’s t-shirt, why always him?   Who is Saint Valentine? According to the Catholic Church, there are at least 3 different saints by the name of Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One of the legend goes back to the third century in Rome, during the reign of Emperor Claudius II, or Claudius Gothicus. Valentine was a priest in the empire.   Emperor Claudius II – Who? Emperor Claudius II, whose full name is Marcus Aurelius Valerius Claudius Augustus, is a Roman Emperor from Septermber 268 to January 270. He spent much of his adult life in the army and is constantly expanding the Roman Empire boundaries via various war campaigns.   Why Valentine’s Day? Being constantly at war dur ...
the Catholic Church needs to go back to its roots and be a persecuted institution forced into hiding by a hostile pagan Roman Empire
// I have theory which i've been working on since my time in Rome. (this may not appeal to devout Catholics). Now Marx's beliefs on religion are linked to the idea that religion is a method of control, now, keep that in mind cos i'll bring in some history. Now the Roman Empire fell in 476 due to numerous political, economic and military factors, BUT did it? My theory is that the empire did not completely collapse but has changed its structure, so what we could call the Neo-Romans, is the Catholic Church. Remember that Catholicism is one of, if not, the most popular religion in the world and has been able to impose its will on others easily, especially in LEDCs. Now Emperor Constantine who legalised christianity 312 may have done this after recognising Christianity's effect on others, so he may have thought a way to sustain a people under Roman rule, is to give them a power to worship and a state which supports it. So effectively, the Roman Empire exists through the Catholic Church, cos how do you keep a p ...
Valentines Day is celebrated across the world for expressing love to your beloved. The history began dates back to 3rd century during the reign of Emperor Claudius II who had commanded his soldiers to abstain from tying connubial knot, as he opposed the institution of love and marriage. Roman Saint Valentine was the only hope for these love-deprived warriors. It states in the Catholic Church texts, that Saint Valentine performed secret marriage of young soldiers and violated and dared to defy Roman Emperor’s orders. Saint Valentine was imprisoned for spreading the message of love and secretly loving daughter of the jailor, he is the first person in the history to send greeting card to his beloved. It was against the Roman law, for a priest or a saint to fall in love or spread any messages associated with love. He embraced Christianity during his last days in the prison. He was killed for helping Christians escape from the clutches of the brutal Roman Empire. One fascinating fact is that the Catholic Chu ...
[Daniel 3: 1 – 30  Peter R Green, Sunday am, 03 Feb, 2013]   IN A hostile world, we need to work with rather than against; we need to maintain our faith; and we need to trust God. But what if it comes to the crunch, and they try to force us to deny God and follow their own belief system?   I mentioned last week that working with people rather than against them was a sensible plan, and it is not contrary to the Bible. But that’s the general principle. Sometimes there are more important issues at stake.   In the same way that Daniel and his companions had to face a hostile Babylon, in the same way that the Jews had to contend with Greek and Roman conquerors, in the same way that the early Christians had to survive the Roman Empire, we in our day must prepare ourselves for increasing hostility.   Popular voices are against us. Elton John called Christians, “hateful lemmings.” Sinead O’Connor keeps blasting the Catholic Church. Ricky Gervais of The Office and Extras is an outspoken and anti–C ...

Egypt The Church and Religious Persecution The Church Christianity came to Egypt as early as the 1st century AD According to tradition, the apostle Mark, who founded the Church of Alexandria. Alexandria was at the time one of the main cities of the Roman Empire and had a considerable number of Jews who lived there. Islam arrived in the country only after centuries, but mass conversions made him the main religion. The Egyptian Christians who refused to adhere to the Islamic faith are known as Copts (Egyptian Greek word meaning). The Coptic Orthodox Church is thus one of the oldest in the world. The Copts are considered by many scholars who preserved the remains of Egyptian language and culture after the domination of Muslims. This Church is not in communion with the Catholic Church or even with the Orthodox Churches of the Byzantine tradition, such as Russian, Greek and the other Eastern European. The Copts belong to the Orthodox communion of churches which separated from the rest of Christianity after the ...
"Mithras is the god who the Catholic Church (both Eastern and Western Catholic denominations) worships, and he does not work on Fridays...only on Sundays. Even then, he is a voiceless, powerless, aimless, and lifeless god of antiquity who was condemned by the living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Those who take part in this form of worship are equally condemned by the Creator God. Regarding this photograph's inconsistent message and completely false claim to being Christian in nature, I offer the following FACTS and HISTORICAL TRUTHS about the pagan cult known as "Catholicism." 1) Deus Sol Invictus ("Unconquered Sun God") or Mithras is the sun god first worshiped by the Persians and later, picked up by the Roman army during their campaigns into Mesopotamian/Persian territories. As a result, after the downfall of the Roman Empire, the Roman Catholic Church (New Rome continued through history) adopted the same practices and pagan gods, simply amalgamating the ancient pagan god Mithras ("Sol Invictus") in ...
BUT MOST CHRISTIANS OBSERVE SUNDAY RATHER THAN SABBATH; when did the change take place? Note: Early in the fourth century A.D, the Emperor Constantine issued a decree making Sunday a public festival throughout the Roman Empire. The day of the sun (SUNday) was reverenced by his pagan subjects and was honored by some Christians. "It was the emperor's policy to unite the conflicting interests of heathenism and Christianity. He was urged to do this by the bishops of the church, who, inspired by ambition and thirst for power, perceived that if the same day was observed by both Christians and heathen, it would promote the nominal acceptance of Christianity by pagans and thus advance the power and glory of the church." E. G. White, The Great Controversy, page 53. Afterward, in the year 364 A.D, at the Council of Laodicea, the Catholic Church approved the change of the day of worship and commanded everyone to keep Sunday as the holy day instead of Saturday.
alot of ancient cultures, Roman Empire, the Catholic Church and the Byzantine Empire. That's mainly it!!
I really think that the only "authentic" christianity--for all that notion is worth--is Catholicism (and I mean Roman not Orthodox). Which to me makes Christianity very unappealing. The seeds of change were built into christianity from the beginning, which made it a flawed concept for a religion that wanted to stay pure, but in order to stay at all it had to somehow be more appealing to non-Jews. I have often thought if there was any one point in history that I would change if possible it would be to make sure Constantine was never born. It was all in the timing, bringing in christianity at the end of the Roman Empire allowed it to become the hope of a chaotic and increasingly anarchy-driven humankind. It became a Savior in itself and took on a new life of its own in the organized Catholic Church as a political force. ~ So to make it more appealing to colonial/industrial society(after the Dark Ages and Renaissance) there was the Protestant Reformation, but all that did was give license to every op ...
because Catholic Church was first and foremost a social cohesion tool of Roman Empire
Hello Friends. What does Halloween mean to you? Halloween is considered to most people as a fun holiday- where kid's and adults dress up in costumes- get candy- and go to parties. When in reality- it's a pagan holiday- relating back 2000 years ago- to pagan people- called the Celts. They lived in the United Kingdom- Ireland- and Northern France who celebrated a holiday called Samhain. They said this holiday opened up a wall between the living and the dead. To possess and search the after life- etc. They would dress up in costumes to scare away spirits- tell fortunes- light bonfires to pagan gods and even make sacrifices. This was considered a magical holiday. This holiday leads back to the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church. Which changed the name to All Saints Day- later on to All Hallows Eve- then to Halloween. They would go from house to house-at night- to get treats for pagan worship- which leads to the name- trick - or- treat. Jack o 'lantern is named after a man named "Stingy Jack" who was a swind ...
Four hour drive from VA to Manalapan, NJ last night. I love the Sisterhood of the Congregation of Sons of Israel. They let me perform on the bima, the altar. (If this were the Catholic Church, I think a lightning bolt would have struck me down!) Nice of them to give this goy girl a chance! Terrific audience. I ran out of business cards afterwards. Weren't they sweet? Then it was another two hours to get home. Listened to a lecture about the Roman Empire and the new Taylor Swift album.
the Roman Empire never went away, just rebranded itself the Catholic Church
the Jewish state disintegrated, and Rome became the Roman Empire mark II in the Catholic Church, run as usual from Rome, Emperor becoming
Jesus was heavily edited & redacted by the Catholic Church, which is basically the Roman Empire. Their "mystical" stuff is BS.
Another Pagan Holiday?. About 100 years before Christianity, Egyptian Mithraists introduced the festival of Sunday, dedicated to worshiping the sun, into the Roman Empire. Later, as Christianity grew, church leaders wished to increase the numbers of the church. In order to make the gospel more attractive to non-Christians, pagan customs were incorporated into the church’s ceremonies. The custom of Sunday worship was welcomed by Christians who desired to differentiate themselves from the Jews, whom they hated because of the Jews’ rejection of the Savior. The first day of the week began to be recognized as both a religious and civil holiday. By the end of the second century, Christians considered it sinful to work on Sunday. The Roman Emperor Constantine, a former sun-worshiper, professed conversion to Christianity, though his subsequent actions suggest the “conversion” was more of a political move than a genuine heart change. Constantine named himself Bishop of the Catholic Church and enacted the f ...
I'm playing the King of England in Crusader Kings 2. I orchestrate a master plan involving excommunicating the Holy Roman Empire from the Catholic Church so I may declare an invasion and alienate them from their allies. I marry off my daughters to princes a generation beforehand so I can bring in powerful allies. In the final moment, when my funds are about to run out, I win the war and claim half of Europe! Then I find out I lose all of my crown law by becoming the new ruler of the empire, and have to use the electoral system they have in place. My king is near death's door, and the favourite to win is some duke I never heard of and when my king dies I lose all my control over what was England to the empire. I try too hard some times.
Can everyone STFU about the "New World Order"? There is not some *** secret organization called "New World Order", President H. W. Bush was speaking in a theoretical sense, as in a new order in the world, a new system, a step up from the last one, the United Nations, Ron Paul technically wants a New World Order, one of liberty. Are there "groups" that want more control in the world? Yes. Bilderberg, the Catholic Church, Israel, the Arab League, BRIC, NATO, the UK, the EU, the US, and even the African Union. Do some use false flags? Yes, just look at the USS Liberty incident. But there is no secret organization controlling the world, there is no Illuminati, no shapeshifting reptilians (though I guess the Jesuit College is close to that), and no freaking Intergalactic Alliance led by the "greys" (at least not on Earth), so can we come back to it? The Freemasons are a PRO-freedom faction, they always have been, the Templar are dispersed, the Roman Empire is dead, Babylon is gone (now Iraq), and you people a ...
They gave us the Catholic Church which superseded the Roman Empire with the Pope as the new Emperor ??? ans: *** all tbh

This was when Iglesia ni Cristo told to their members that Catholic Church was indeed the church of anti christ. It was when Pope John Paul wore his head dress (dont know what it called) with an inverted cross design. It is actually the feast of St. Peter where the Vatican commemorate his death by means of inverted crucifix.
The Roman Empire didn't fall, it transformed into the Catholic Church...
Christianity transcends culture, and those who first followed the teachings of Y'shua were people of color. The information you have is incorrect. The Council of Nicea never created Christianity and Constantine wasn't a follower of Y'shua, but hijacked Christianity for political purposes. It was the creation of the "Holy" (far from it) Roman Empire i.e. the Catholic Church. As for the historicity of Y'shua, there is more than enough non-biblical references by non-Christian ancient historians such as Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Lucian to name a few. The concept of Y'shua not existing is European in origin. It's not African. How do you explain the Kingdom of Ethiopia/Axum being the first Christian nation in Africa in the 1st century? They were not colonized~ Michael Ford
against anyone they viewed as an enemy of the Catholic Church. The Roman Empire fell in 476 AD (Caesar/Roman Empire).
Now I am going to clarify it to people, I am not attacking anyone's Religion I am just going to say what I believe based on evidence that I have found. 1st The reason why Catholicism is right, and Protestantism ( commonly called Christians ) is because Jesus came to Earth with a message, the word of God ( The Father ) He showed us Love, and thought us many lessons which were all put into the Bible ( Which was written by the Catholic Church ) Protestantism is build on personal opinion, they see the Bible based on what they feel it means. That is why there are 40,000 different Protestant Churches, with different philosophies on the Bible, and God. They can not agree on anything, because they cant interpret the Bible, because they can not understand that which they did not create. For example it is like two people who speak different languages, and come from different countries arguing about a document, in another language they do not speak, they can bicker, and debate, but they will never decide on it, beca ...
The truth is the US, like the UK, like the Catholic Church, like the Roman Empire, like the feudal empires, was founded on slave ownership.
After weeks of study and stacks of books, here is what I found... Constantine most likely converted because of personal gain. His life shows the advancement of himself, not of the Gospel. He went against biblical principles and merged the Christian Church with the Roman Empire. This caused many false converts and introduced pagan practices and beliefs into the church. Because Rome was extremely powerful and synonymous with Christianity, nobody questioned it for about 1000 years. The Roman Catholic Church was started by Constantine and is based on a combination of biblical teachings and pagan teachings. 6 sentences to explain 12 pages...lame
Ya know, this whole Supreme Corpse thing in the States really has me fired up. It goes straight to the heart of one of my pet peeves, which I can lay directly at the feet of the Roman Empire (aka Catholic Church), and which has so screwed up Western history and, by extension, the world. Here's the deal. Once upon a time, Humans were viewed as the pinnacle of Creation. We were Masters of our domain (Seinfeld excepted) and the individual was a sacred being capable of achieving god-like characteristics. Buddhism, which predates both Christianity and Judaism, speaks to the whole idea that humans are perfectable to the point of deification. Each of us, given enough time and effort, are capable of achieving apotheosis. As Robert Heinlein put it in 'Stranger in a Strange Land,' "Thou art god."
What's two faced an extension of the Roman Empire and the biggest fiddler on the proverbial roof? Thats right the Catholic Church. Bite me.
"In fact, if you think about it, the Catholic Church, spiritual and temporal heirs to the Roman Empire, murdered Jesus Christ. They then publicly displayed, in effigy, his tortured and murdered body as a warning to other slaves. The last thing the Catholic Church wants is for the Messiah to return because the first thing Christ would do if he returned would be to denounce and then forgive his murderers." Benjamin Fulford
What is the origin of the Catholic Church? Is the Catholic Church a mixture of true Christianity with other non-Christian religions?
The few concepts while passing the government participants, today, public servants trying to shake me for every last dime to poverty. the road was built before any of you decided to be public servants, don't blame me. as read the book and look at that one statement that most are akin to state-nations rather than buiness or corporate identity, this is exactly what the book explains cocerning roman empire and Catholic Church ideals to eliminat any idea of private or for profit gain, that is not to say that other church denominations (also left unwritten) consider the same as work and donate all your valuables to us so that we don't have to. The very idea only goes as far as when only government and church exist and natural resources are removed to other countries for wealth and distribution. leaving really no recourse or ability to ever regain that boom sensation that the stock market or businesses have and if so short lived, in that boom bust cycle of depression and growth that frequently go hand in hand w ...
The Civil Ensign (Yellow Flag) And the War Ensign/Battle Flag of the late Eastern Empire (Eastern Roman Empire) Device: Two Headed Eagle with Sword, Orb and Crown The Flag with the Gold Field is Also the Flag of the Greek Orthodox Church which is the Ecclesiastical Continuation of the Eastern Roman Empire, so in a way, Rome still survives, Because I haven't seen any Double Headed Eagle or Eagles for that matter in The Papist Frankish Catholic Church, NOW, I'm just waiting for Greece to get the *** out of the EU and and Finish her work on the Megali Idea and Restore our Empire.
One of the doctrines of the INC is that the true church of Christ was apostatized as it becomes the Catholic Church that come up with so many new doctrines that are not found and even contradicts the bible. They say: "If that happened, CAN YOU GIVE US THE DATE WHEN IT HAPPENED? If you cannot then theres no apostasy that occurred!" One thing we can sure about this: The Catholic Church will never be the same 1st century church of Christ as of its doctrines! Here is what a nonmember said: Please note that the INC preach apostasy of the early Church as whole. This includes the Church hierarchy, its clergy and all members. However, a difficulty for INC is that they can't say exactly when the apostasy took place. According to Pasugo throughout the years, they have identified not one, but several points in history for the occurrance of the Great Apostasy: 1. 400AD plus. Pasugo Feb. 1959, p.1. 2. 1870 Vatican I. Pasugo Aug. 1962 as well as Pasugo March 1956. p.25. 3. 400AD.Roman Empire. Feb. 1952, p.9. The cur ...
SIGNIFICANCE OF Martin Luther'S REFORMATION We cannot begin to talk about the enlightenment,19th and 20th century thinkers and their assault on Christianity without talking about The Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther. Without that revolt against the pagan, self dealing practices of the Catholic Church there would have been no Enlightenment, no revolutions or even an industrial age. When Luther posited that man did not need priest or Bishop or even a pope as an intermediary between him and God, he was the unwitting midwife to the birth of the modern society. It was this individualist idea in the religious world, in the spiritual realm that sparked everything afterward especially in western societies. People began to think as individuals instead of having reality interpreted for them. They began to think that if they have had spiritual rights and a private covenant of conscience with God upon which no priest or pope could tread, the perhaps this extended to their relationship with their kings and her ...
Constantine did give Roman Empire over to the Catholic Church but he didn't really have much choice by then. cc
If you go to a church that worships on Sunday, you are involved in a system that has replaced YHVH’s Truth and His ways with traditions of men – steeped in ancient pagan mystery religions and cultic abominations. Sounds harsh, I know. But there are only two sides to this very real battle. Which camp are you in? Before the Catholic Church took it upon itself to rewrite God’s laws, all followers of YHVH kept the Sabbath holy. Even after the ungodly rulings were handed down by these so-called leaders, the true believers still kept Sabbath. The ‘Gentile’ nations, on the other hand, followed a line of worship born in ancient Babylon. These beliefs started with Ishtar (Easter, Eostre) and Nimrod (Baal) who built Babel and other early cities. Nimrod was killed in battle, and then deified as the ‘Sun God’ by his wife/mother Ishtar. She founded the cult by creating a trinity or triune of gods consisting of Nimrod(Baal) as the father, Tammuz (her illegitimate son – said to have been conceive ...
