while we're at it I'm suing Cash Money for giving Kevin Rudolf a 2nd album option.
Early life Lil Wayne wrote his first rap song at age eight. In the summer of 1991, he met Bryan Williams, rapper and owner of Cash Money Records. Carter recorded freestyle rap on Williams's answering machine, leading him to mentor the young Carter and include him in some songs distributed Cash Money. He also recorded his first album True Story with rapper BG collaboration. At the time, Carter was 11, and B.G. was 14, and was billed as "The BG'z". At age 13, he accidentally shot himself with a 9mm pistol, the bullet grazed his heart by two inches. Wayne now has a large tattoo on his chest with the words "Bullet Bang" in commemoration of his shot, and another that reads: "In Memory of Rabbit: It's up to me" on his arm in honor of his dead father, who killed out of jail for illegal possession of weapons. At McMain Magnet School, Carter was an honor student, but dropped out at 14 to focus on her music career, which his mother tried to avoid. Cool article : Kevin Rudolf: I’m So Sick Of Award Shows kevin Rudolf spoke with Global Grind in a Q&A, where the recording artist talked aobut the ‘Don’t Give Up’ creative process, if he’s felt like giving up on music, whether he wishes he’d kept a song written for someone else for himself, playing instruments, signing to Cash Money, musical inspirations and more. “I think it’s awesome! I’m so sick of award shows,” Rudolf enthused when asked about Axl Rose declining his Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame induction. “Fu** award shows. Everybody should just make real music, and stop getting awards for bullsh**. I mean everybody gets an award for Best Single, Best Album… It’s like I want to hear some real music. I want to hear people write music from the heart. To me it shows that he’s still rock n’ roll. I applaud him for that. We need more of that.”
Kevin Rudolf doesn't need any outside motivation to complete his long-in-progress third artist album. "I'm definitely kicking my own butt to get the record finished," the multi-genre artist, songwriter and producer tells Billboard. "At the same time, I want to put out the right record, and that's probably why it's taking so long." The set will follow Rudolf's 2008 debut "In The City" -- which launched "Let It Rock," his Top 5 single with Lil Wayne -- and its 2010 follow-up "To The Sky." Rudolf has moved from Los Angeles to Miami during the interim and says that in the studio he's been "exploring a lot of different sounds and parts of myself with this next record. If somebody put a gun to my head and said 'You have to put it out tomorrow' I could, but I'm going to keep working until we're mastering, and we're not there yet. But obviously I'm excited about this." Rudolf has offered a preview of what he's cooking up with "Champions," a new single that features Cash Money mates Lil Wayne, Birdman and Limp Biz ...
