Tonight, my friend, the late and great boxer Rudell Stitch, will be honored as one of seven inductees into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame! Rudell was the ranked welterweight in the world and a father of six, when he drowned on June 5, 1960 at the age of 27, while trying to save the life of his friend in the Ohio River. Twice he risked his life in the Ohio to save others, his first attempt successful and the second attempt resulting in his death. In 1958, he was awarded a prestigious Andrew Carnegie Hero Medal (for saving the life of Army Corps of Engineers worker Joseph Shifcar (pictured in hospital bed when Rudell visited him). Shifcar had fallen from the McAlpine Dam, breaking his leg on the rocks before tumbling into the river, and was rescued by Rudell. After Rudell’s death, his family was posthumously awarded a second Carnegie Medal, making him one of only four people in in the 106 year history of the Carnegie Foundation to have been awarded two Medals. Because of the great sportsmanship ...

The building at the center of the photo is tagged as a library back in 1909. This was also a Trades Union Hall and was located behind where the Marquis Hotel would later be built. In the same year, a grant that the city applied for from the Carnegie Foundation to build a library was accepted but the people of Lethbridge protested against it because it was considered "sweat labour money" and so the money wasn't spent. Later a room was secured in the "YMCA" (across from St. Patrick church) to serve as an official public library with 3000 books to chose from. In 1922 they finally built a library with Carnegie money in Galt Gardens. 125 libraries were funded by the Carnegie Foundation in Canada with many more in the US, UK and elsewhere.

Why Does an Educated Clergy Matter? It is true that many congregations opt out of calling a seminary trained pastor for practical and financial reasons and fewer, if any, for theological ones. Saying we can no longer need nor can afford an educated clergy is like saying hospitals can no longer afford doctors, schools can no longer afford teachers, or construction companies can no longer afford engineers. Highly skilled, educated, formed leaders in all of these fields are essential to mission of their organizations and institutions. The same is true about churches; without well-educated pastors and other leaders the whole project begins to crumble, ministry becomes obsolete, and the church fails to accomplish its mission. Each congregation is unique and some can be faithfully served by those trained in alternative ways. However, the whole church needs leaders educated in theology, the Bible, and a wide variety of practical pastoral skills, Business & Community Development Administrative certification(s) fo ...

Charles DavenportCharles Davenport (1866-1944) is considered the founder of the American eugenics movement and was one of the most influential figures both nationally and internationally in the history of eugenics. Davenport was a professor in zoology at the University of Chicago before he was appointed as the director of the Eugenics Record Office (ERO) in Cold Spring Harbor in 1910. Under his direction Davenport made the ERO a major research, teaching, and publishing center for eugenics materials in the 1910s and 1920s. He remained in that position until the ERO was closed down by the Carnegie Foundation in 1939. Davenport saw himself as a progressive reformer, believing the "science of eugenics" could cure society of such ills as poverty, crime, and feeblemindedness. Through his writings, ERO publications, and the lobbying efforts of the center, Davenport made eugenics a major force in shaping public policies. Davenport and the ERO played a major role in advocating for immigration restriction based on ...
Pakistan has good genes... I just heard 16 year old Malala's incredible speech delivered with the power of a polished statesman to the European Union Parliament!!! The EU Parliament gave her a standing ovation. She was given the Sakharov Prize given only to the likes of Nelson Mandela. If you have not heard her speak before the United Nations, Carnegie Foundation, Harvard University, etc. I urge you to do so. The scars of attempted murder still showing on her face. This is task that will make the very best sweat profusely. This is no easy endeavor. She is NOT western hype. This beautiful young woman from a remote region of Pakistan, who is a tenth grader, has already been awarded a Master's degree from a great University! She is a sure bet to attend Harvard College. I hear that her book has been banned in some Pakistani schools. I am puzzled. Has community engagement become a mainstream part of what universities do? If not, how can it get there? These were some of the questions on the agenda at the 6th International Conference on Higher Education organised by the Global University Network for Innovation in Barcelona, Spain, from 13-15 May. “How do we accelerate the process of transforming universities, which so often seem to be organisations brilliantly designed to resist change?” asked Robert Hollister, dean of the Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University in the United States, opening day two of the conference. Community engagement, defined by the Carnegie Foundation as collaboration between higher education institutions and their larger communities for mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources, is a complex area. It can mean different things to different people and institutions may engage in it for different reasons. This can be in the name of social justice or community development, in order to t ...

Winston Churchill , Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt So the decision was made to involve the United States in a war so that the "life of the entire people could be altered." This was the conclusion of the Carnegie Foundation, a foundation supposedly committed to "peace." The method by which the United States was drawn into the war started on October 25, 1911, when Winston Churchill was appointed the First Lord of the Admiralty in England. Winston Churchill is an interesting individual, as he later came to the conclusion that there was indeed a master conspiracy at work in the major events of the world, when he wrote the following in 1920: "From the days of Spartacus and to Adam Weishaupt, to those of Karl Marx, and to those of Trotsky (Russia)... this world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization... has been steadily growing." The second key appointment made during the pre-war period was the appointment of Franklin Delano Roosevelt as Assistant Secretary of the Navy by President Woodrow Wil ...

via Floyd Smith ᴏɴ ᴛʜɪs ᴅᴀʏ in 1969, the pioneering children's television program Sesame Street made its broadcast debut. Two years earlier, television producer Joan Ganz Cooney teamed up with the Carnegie Foundation to create a children's show that would harness the "addictive qualities of television" for a greater good. Early childhood education became their focus, and Sesame Street was the first program for kids that was a collaborative effort between educators, child psychologists, and artists. Based in a fictional inner-city neighborhood, the show featured an integrated cast of characters and gave national exposure to Jim Hensen's Muppets. The producers made a point of highlighting diversity and inclusiveness, and their prominent roles for black actors and incorporation of foreign language vocabulary initially caused states like Mississippi's Board of Education to ban the show. Writers often wrote in adult humor and brought in guests like Stevie Wonder to encourage parents to watch with . ...

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg is doing more than his part to ensure the success of the NWO. His $22Billion ranks him at about 12th wealthiest person in the world. I could go on from here, but you get the point. Bloomberg isn't interested in protecting anyone here. He is interested in pushing the agenda of the U.N., the globalists who have their eyes fixed on a one world government, which must mean the end of the U.S. Constitution, and an end to our freedom. Bloomberg is tied with the One World crowd at the Carnegie Foundation and is busy pushing Agenda 21 down the throat of his state, and anyone who listens. It is Mayor Bloomberg who says that it is 'Government's highest duty' to push 'healthy foods'. The good Mayor has practiced double-speak when it comes to religious liberty, allowing and doing his best to hasten a Mosque at ground zero,

On this basis, there grew up in the twentieth century a power structure between London and New York which penetrated deeply into university life, the press, and... foreign policy... For example, it set up in Princeton a reasonable copy of the Round Table group's chief Oxford headquarters. The copy was called the 'Institute for Advanced Study' and was organized by Abraham Flexner of the Carnegie Foundation and Rockefeller's General Education Board. The plans were largely drawn by Tom Jones, one of the Round Table's most active intriguers and foundation administrators.
