Capitol Hill & Citizens United

Capitol Hill, aside from being a metonym for the United States Congress, is the largest historic residential neighborhood in Washington D.C., stretching easterly in front of the United States Capitol along wide avenues. Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. ––––, 130 S.Ct. 876 (January 21, 2010), was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court, which held that the First Amendment prohibited the government from restricting independent political expenditures by corporations and unions. 4.7/5

After the Citizens United court case the unlimited spending by the corporations and wealthy is now sanctioned. People in USA do not see the real for what it is. Your democracy is ruled by capitalism and greed, lobbyist and corporations and not “We The People” and the real things that should be addressed. You see corruption, interests entanglement, lobbying, senators and congressmen and campaigning for funds for re-election as less time is spent on Capitol Hill for the duties they are elected for and in keeping their oaths of office. Approximately 2 till 3 days they spent on the Hill. Reading the bills and amendments they should pass they do not. Yes unread they vote on and pass bills that limit and steal the rights you have as sovereign beings. You should ask them what they voted on. You’d be surprised! We see an increasing flow of unconstitutional bills pass. In my opinion ‘The High Court judges’ approve of apparent infringements on the bill of rights and the rights the constitution has gi ...
"Dirty Money" is buying our nation! We need to force a Constitutional Amendment to overturn Citizens United. What we have going on in America from "Sleazy Operatives" such as Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS, Koch Brothers Americans for Prosperity and some others are willing to buy elections and the evidence is crystal clear. The mid term elections were just a 'test case'. Now we have Voter Suppression Laws, Unlimited Money from "secret donors" some which are foreign interests and some of this money could be some of the $9-Billion Dollars which went missing in Iraq. We have Cheney meeting Republicans on Capitol Hill to fight back against defense cuts. I would be derelict of duty if I did not remind the American People of the "No Bid Contracts which Halliburton were awarded, where Cheney was a senior official and screwed the American People out of Billions of Dollars, which is Blood Money"! This behavior from the Vice President who used false information to sell the invasion of Iraq and in return got no b ...
"As I reported for ThinkProgress last year, David Koch visited Capitol Hill as Republican freshman were being sworn into Congress. He was a guest in the Speaker’s office on John Boehner’s first day on the job. I ran into him on his way out of the Capitol. Koch grinned as he told me that the Tea Party is composed of “just normal People Like Us.” A few moments later, I asked if the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision had helped him with electing the new Congress. He cringed at the question, picked up his cell phone, and walked away." So the answer would have been "yes."
