Cameron Crowe's "Pearl Jam Twenty" is hands down my favorite music doc. Must watch every time.
Watching young Cameron Crowe meet Lester Bangs in Almost Famous reminds me of being coached by when I started at Hustler.
"Sherry is a real life Penny Lane. One wonders if she has Cameron Crowe or Lester Bangs locked in her attic"
I just saw Almost Famous again. One of my favorite coming of age/rock and roll/1970s era films A Cameron Crowe triumph. Then I saw something I missed before: Jimmy Fallon playing the band's record company new road manager. His response to their reply when he said it was best to give up touring with the bus and to switch to an airplane; "Hey you can play more dates. I would ride a pogostick if I thought we could make more money: But then.( he is explaining why he is a better promoter than their erstwhile quircky but skill limited road manager).wait for it... " I DIDNT INVENT THE RAINY DAY. I JUST OWN THE BEST UMBRELLA" And before that. in trying to soothe the bruised and tender ego of the 15 yo aspiring rock journalist: (discussing how William Millers high school peers dont get his talent: "HEY DONT WORRY ABOUT IT. IM SURE YOU WILL MEET THEM AGAIN ON THEIR JOURNEY TO THE MIDDLE" Id like a double scoop of judgment with snarky sprinkles and the crushing narcissism. Can I get that in a cup?
Sounds like you could go undercover like Cameron Crowe did for Fast Times at Ridgemont High book (which inspired movie).
Talking about how Fast Times at Ridgemont High is the best high school movie. "Cameron Crowe is actually a great director." .

TV's Remake Craze: Who Gets the Money and Owns Rights? reprinted from Oct 24 THR reboot and remake frenzy is spreading from film to TV. To break through in a competitive scripted landscape, networks are turning to familiar feature-film material with new fervor. Fox is reviving Big and Monster-in-Law, CBS is tackling Rush Hour and In Good Company, CW is plotting The Illusionist, and Showtime and MGM TV are rebooting In the Heat of the Night, to name a few. But the rush to remake is requiring studio lawyers to sort out rights, and not everybody — including some of the original creators — is excited. See more Faces of Fall 2014 In early October, Say Anything's Cameron Crowe appeared to quash NBC's plans to adapt his 1989 romantic comedy, leaving many to wonder whether he had that power. The answer is complicated. Although Crowe, like most screenplay writers, probably doesn't own remake rights, his mere objection — "[John Cusack, Ione Skye] and I have no involvement … except in trying to stop it," twe ...

Catch Me If You Can Catch Me If You Can is a 2002 American biographical crime drama film based on the life of Frank Abagnale, who, before his 19th birthday, successfully performed cons worth millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor, and a Louisiana parish prosecutor. His primary crime was check fraud; he became so skillful that the FBI eventually turned to him for help in catching other check forgers. The film was directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, with Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye in supporting roles. Development for the film started in 1980 but did not progress until 1997 when the film rights to Abagnale’s book were purchased by Spielberg's DreamWorks. David Fincher, Gore Verbinski, Lasse Hallström, Miloš Forman and Cameron Crowe had all been possible candidates for director before Spielberg decided to direct. Filming took place from February to May 2002. The film was a financial and c ...

“The only true currency in this bankrupt world are the moments you share with someone when you're uncool.” ~Cameron Crowe~
The 'golden god' line in Almost Famous was said (according to Cameron Crowe) by Plant. I can see it.
At the age of 16 Cameron Crowe wrote this 1973 Rolling Stone article on The Allman Brothers:
yeah they must not be aware of Cameron Crowe.
Listen to Tommy with a candle burning and you will see Cameron Crowe naked.

Yeah QT's got ace taste in music, lots of hidden gems. Cameron Crowe too - his soundtracks are often better than his films.
You should both follow a lot of quotes and quotes from other Cameron Crowe movies :)
The soundtrack to Infamous Second Son is utter *** The soundtrack to Cameron Crowe's 'Singles' is on instead. Much more Seattle.

As a fellow country man of said Mr Crowe. I must agree with your description 😉
"I think I've been asleep most of my life" (Elizabethtown, de Cameron Crowe, 2005).
It's the WAR OF THE WORLDS movie Cameron Crowe would have made.
My favourite bit in Gladiator is where they sell Russel Crowe into slavery and he's taught how to do one accent consistently.
Rewatching Gladiator for the first time in years. It reminds me of a simpler, golden time, when we didn't know Russel Crowe was a knobhead.
I love him too. His novels remind me of quieter, more thoughtful Cameron Crowe movies. Which I am just fine with.
John Hughes and Cameron Crowe marathon all day.
I love the title “Untitled Cameron Crowe Project” to pieces. Make it the official title. Or don’t. Make up your *** mind.
Wow, I just read that Cameron Crowe used the Hollies' version in the opening credits sequence of Elizabethtown...
I did not know until now that Cameron Crowe wrote The Wild Life. That's harder to find than a copy of the original Fast Times book.
you can't go wrong with anything Cameron Crowe directed though - Say Anything, Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown, etc.
One of my favorite moments is when I stumble across a film I've never seen before, and l love it. I have to admit, I'd seen Cameron Crowe's 2005 indie film, "Elizabethtown," years ago. At the time, I was unimpressed, and it did get panned by the film critics of the day. But I ran across it again, this evening, and I'm left wondering why I didn't love this little film gem, in the first place? It's a loving, delicate tribute to extended family, small-town America and, most importantly, personal redemption. It also rails against geographic prejudice. The film gets a bit preachy toward the end, but the view is worth it. As an added plus, it features lots of regional Delta attractions. And it stars the larger-than-life Paula Deen, lately of the Food Network, in a role she was born to play. Crowe, by the way, directed the definitive film about late 1970's rock culture, "Almost Famous." He's a very intuitive and nuanced film director, and "Elizabethtown" shows it. I stand corrected, in my opinion about his film. ...
Huh. I'm pretty cold on Cameron Crowe in general, but I remember liking that Phil Hoffman and Billy Crudup.

I made Shawn Fowler watch Jerry Maguire, last night. And even though he hates Tom Cruise, Rene Zellwegger and movies, in general, he asked me to keep it in the DVR for awhile. LOL If I have some appreciation for WWE, Alabama and The Dallas Cowboys, it's due to him. The door swings both ways. He has learned to love Fight Club, Type O and, now, Cameron Crowe movies. Relationships are weird. Lol
