Dear Calvert County, I am writing to thank you for the amazing year we have had at End Hunger In Calvert County had in 2013. Together, we helped feed over 10,000 needy people in Calvert County and hit an all time record by distributing over 1 MILLION pounds of food to families right here in our county. We are humbled. And we understand that no one achieves anything of value on their own. This year has truly shown the value of partnerships and combined focus. It is impossible to list the names all the people, organziations and partners that are at the core of the End Hunger effort. But please know that your names are known not only by us but by our Heavenly Father who sees all.  In many ways 2013 was a year of firsts for our cause.   In June we hosted our 1st Annual Dragon Boat Festival in North Beach. Erin Knowles For anyone that participated in yesterday's Dragon Boat Race in North Beach... What an amazing time for a great cause!!! End Huger Calvert is a great organization.. This has given me a new interest in looking for rowing clubs in the county. Does anyone know if there is a Dragon Boat club in Calvert County.. If not would people be interested in starting one.. (M)
Calvert Investigative Team January 24, 2013 During the timeframe of September 2012 through December 2012 there were numerous occurrences of thefts from motor vehicles in the Chesapeake Beach and North Beach area of Calvert County, MD. On November 5, 2012 a suspicious vehicle was observed by a homeowner in the area of Chesapeake Village in Chesapeake Beach. The homeowner called 911 and deputies responded to the area and a high speed pursuit ensued with the suspicious vehicle, later known to be stolen. The suspicious vehicle struck a guardrail in the Randal’s Cliff area and became disabled. Ray Kinzer, 20 of Chesapeake Beach, was later apprehended. Kinzer was linked to several recent thefts from automobiles in the Chesapeake Beach area and several search warrants were executed by members of the Calvert Investigative Team. Numerous stolen items were recovered and returned to several of the victims. A second suspect in the thefts was identified as John Letcher, 19, also of Chesapeake Beach. Ray Kinz ...
