Nkana coach Masauso Mwale says he is wary of 2014 CAF Champions League opponents Mbabane Swallows. Kampala City Council FC will kick off their CAF Champions League campaign against Sudan’s El Merrickh following a draw held in Marrakech Morocco on Monday December 16. The Ugandan Champions will play away first in the preliminary round first leg on the weekend of February 7-9, 2014 before hosting the second leg a week later between on the weekend of 14-16. KCC FC will need to revenge the 2009 defeat to the Sudan’s side that eliminated them 2-1 on aggregate following a 0-1 defeat at Nakivubo in the first leg before the Ugandan side forced a 1-1 draw in Khartoum. Brian Umony now at Azam FC in Tanzania scored KCC’s solitary goal over both ties while Nigerian Endurance Idahor netted in both legs for El Merrickh. Coincidentally, current KCC FC Coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe was in charge of the club then. The winner between KCC FC and El Merreikh will meet the winner between Mbabane Swallows (Swaziland) and Nkana FC (Zambia) in the second round.
