I saw THIS: "APC has been consistent in saying that the PDP has ruled Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption, impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of society held sway. But a very close look at the APC, I am seeing Amaechi - 8yrs as speaker in Rivers State; 7yrs as overnor under PDP, Atiku - 8yrs Vice President under PDP, Akume - 8yrs governor under PDP, Bukola Saraki - 8 yrs governor; 2 yrs Senator under PDP, Timipre Sylva -4 yrs governor under PDP, Audu Ogbe - 2 yrs chairman of PDP, Aminu Masari - 4 yrs Reps speaker under PDP, Chris Ngige - 3yrs governor under PDP, Kwankwaso - 7yrs governor, 3yrs Defense minister under PDP, El-Rufai - 4yrs FCT minister, 2yrs BPE chairman under PDP, Oyinlola, 7 and half years governor under PDP, Segun Oni, 3 and half years governor under PDP, and to cap it all they went to OBJ begging, a man who they claimed spent 8 of the disastrous 16 yrs as the maximum ruler of Nigeria to come and lead them on a rescue mission. It is now clearer that APC i ...
In their quest to remain politically relevant and "immune" from financial investigations and probes, is the National Assembly (The Senate to be precise) now a safe retirement haven for Governors of questionable integrity who have had 2-terms in office? The following ex-governors such as Danjuma Goje (Gombe), Bukola Saraki (Kwara), Ali Modu Sheriff (Borno), Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu), Joshua Dariye (Plateau), George Akume (Benue), Chris Ngige (Anambra), Abdullahi Adamu (Nassarawa), etc are presently Senators of this 7th Senate. With the present declaration and rumoured ambition of some serving governors such as Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), etc to contest for the Senate come 2015, the number of ex-governors in the "red-coloured" chambers of the National Assembly is likely to increase. Shouldn't this trend be checked? Must political office holders contest for another position immediately after leaving office without taking time to reflect on their performances and ...
ACHIEVEMENTS IN PUBLIC SERVICE The reason why politicians do not achieve is that they don't understand what it means to be vested with "power". Some politicians however realise that and try to use power to establish themselves in office. Here are examples: In 1999, IBB and his friends went to Ota to plead with OBJ to be the President. He agreed. When he got became President, they sought to dictate to him and he EXERCISED power to establish himself in office. Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State did likewise to Jim Nwobodo, Chris Ngige did likewise to Chris Uba, Bukola Saraki did likewise to his dad and political mentor Chief Olusola Saraki, Fashola was resorted to have done likewise to Bola Tinubu etc. Failed politicians are those who do not realise that THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO WITH POWER IS TO EXERCISE IT. It can be for good or for bad. And therein lies the difference between the failed politician and the maverick and successful one - like Fashola. Period!
