lobbies for presidential hopeful shifts declaration to Oct 15 *Saraki to head campaign organisation As the battle for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathers momentum, former Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, has intensified lobby for the emergence of former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, as the party’s candidate. Sources told New Telegraph that Tinubu had stepped up efforts in recent days to ensure that Buhari would get the APC ticket at the December 2 national convention of the party. He is said to be mobilising the party structures and providing the initial funding in the pursuit of Buhari’s aspiration. In return, it was learnt that Buhari had agreed that should he win, Tinubu would pick his running mate for him. In preparations for his possible emergence as the party’s candidate, Buhari, it was also learnt, had begun putting together his campaign organisation, which will be headed by former Kwara State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, now a senator ...

Kwara ex-Gov Adebayo loses wife Wife of the Second Republic governor of Kwara State, Cornelius Adebayo, Funmilayo, is dead. The wife reportedly died on Thursday at an Abuja hospital after a protracted illness. Meanwhile, a former governor of the state, Bukola Saraki, has described her death as sad loss to the state. Saraki in a statement signed by his media aide, Bamikole Omishore, said the state has lost a virtuous and hard-working woman who supported her husband to achieve greatness as a profound politician, nationalist and a teacher. He stated: “This is indeed a sad development for us all, I can only imagine the void that her passing away will create for her husband, the children and the entire family.” “No doubt, it’s a trying period for everyone who has had one form of contact or the other with her, her immediate family and close associates. But I hope that the family, especially, will draw strength from the knowledge that the thoughts and prayers of Kwarans and indeed Nigerians are with the ...

The same Tope Daramola that was an alleged accomplice of Bukola Saraki in the Intercontinental Bank loan scandal. Mr. Adebayo Sanni, Ladi Hassan, Ibraheem Yinka Yahaya, and Hamzat Balogun. Good day! Here are 10 things you need to know today: 17th Aug, 2014 1. A renowned Politician and former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Friday (15th August, 2014) has defiantly predicted a ‘landslide victory’ for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 elections. Saraki, who hails from an affluent Political background in Kwara State followed a long list of Political heavyweights who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to the APC earlier this year. Since joining the APC, many stakeholders within the party have favoured him to be the party’s candidate at the Presidential election holding next year as he has been viewed as a ‘neutral’ Politician. He stated that the victory of APC at the recent governorship election in Osun State has changed the political dimension in Nigeria and placed the APC back on the map after the party’s failure at the governorship election in Ekiti State 2. Report says following a clash between the police and okada riders in Lagos on Frid ...
OPINION: Bola Shagaya Is A Two Faced Politician And Wheeler Dealer. By Abdullahi Imam Abdullahi It has become necessary to warn well meaning Kwarans on the dangers posed by the billionaire business woman to the struggle of those clamouring for political freedom in Kwara State. Hajia Bola Shagaya as she is fondly called needs no introduction to those following closely the activities of the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples' Democratic Party; she is a major financier and stakeholder of the party. However, her past and recent activities cast a shadow of doubt as to her real intentions towards the good people of Kwara as they seek to free themselves from the shackles of the Bukola Saraki and gang. If we follow due diligence to examine Bola Shagaya's past and recent activities, six issues stand out: 1. Her past relationship with former Nigerian first ladies 2. The impact or lack thereof her business empire had on Kwara 3. Her sole nomination of Kwara's Representative at the Federal Executive Council 4. Attemp ...
VANDALISM: Dele Belgore seeks arrest of SA to Governor Ahmed = Senior lawyer and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Dele Belgore (SAN), has asked the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, to immediately cause the arrest and prosecution of an unnamed newly appointed Special Assistant (SA) to the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, over alleged vandalism of posters and billboards belonging to Belgore on the eve of the Muslim Eid Fitr festival. In a petition addressed to the Police commissioner by Mr. Belgore, and dated 30th July, 2014, a copy of which was exclusively obtained by eKwara.com, the PDP chieftain alleged that several of his posters and billboard mounted to felicitate with Muslims on the Eid celebration, were either deliberately defaced or had the presidential campaign posters of an erstwhile Governor of Kwara State, Sen. Bukola Saraki, super-imposed on them. The letter, which was signed by one Olatunji Ajanaku, Personal Adviser (PA) to Mr. Belgore, another APC chief ...
2015: Gladiators spoiling for war in Kwara old Kwara State is about to witness what some political analysts in the country have described as a drama at its best come the 2015 elections. The political dynasty of the state, which is one of the states in the North-Central, was firmly in the grip of the late Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, until his demise on November 14, 2012. It was customary for the philanthropist to say during his life te that the keys to the Ahmadu Bello Way Government House, the seat of power, were in his pocket. And he gave it to whomsoever he decided. However, an interesting political history was recorded in the 2011 election, when the deceased could not give the keys to his daughter, Gbemisola, because his son, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who was the then governor, opposed the move, which set up a bitter political rivalry that was won by his son in the election. Meanwhile, one of the interesting angles about the battle for the soul of Kwara in 2015 is the fact that most of t ...

Alhaji Sanusi Dare, who is popularly referred to as Tunde Bughana, is a senior cousin of the PDP stalwart, who has risen as a major force in Kwara PDP after the defection of Bukola Saraki to the APC. Describing the PDP members in the state as paperweight and hypocrite, Dare noted that all the PDP aspirants despite their gang- up pose no threat to the APC. “You don’t know them but only see them from afar. We see them more than you people and know that some of them cannot even control their homes and some of them will lose even right in front of their houses “PDP will not have ten percent vote in Ilorin. Ensuring Good Governance through Continuity and Infrastructure the present administration in Kwara State, under the leadership of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, took over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2011, he had then pledged that his administration would ensure the completion of all the uncompleted projects and embark on new ones in order to accelerate the socio economic development of Kwarans. The administration, which was christened as 'Legacy Continues', was put in place based on the conviction that all the uncompleted projects of the immediate past administration of former governor Bukola Saraki in areas of infrastructure like roads, hospitals, education, water, and electricity among others must see the light of the day so as to add values to the people of the state. This made Saraki, now Senator representing Kwara central senatorial district of the state at the National Assembly, to lead the governorship campaign across the 16 Local Government councils of the state, which led to the massive votes ...
President Jonathan Impounds Governor Amaechi’s Jet In Kano For His Role In The Appointment Of Lamido Sanusi As The Emir Of Kano Posted: Jun, 08 2014, 6:06PM Governor Rotimi Amaechi By Saharareporters, New York Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan tonight ordered Nigerian aviation authorities to prevent the jet carrying Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi from leaving the Kano International Airport grounded after security agencies decided that Mr. Amaechi, former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu, ex-governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki and a former governor of Gombe state and now Senator, Danjuma Goje were instrumental to pressurizing Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano to ratify ousted CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano. The Bombardier aircraft that was recently released to the governor could not leave the airport as aviation agencies claimed there was an order from above to stop night flights out of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano. Press Release: N100 million monthly pension for Saraki is unjustifiable - PDP We have noted the desperate bid of the Kwara State Government to cover up for Sen. Bukola Saraki in respect of the millions of Naira that he draws monthly from the state lean treasury in the name of an obnoxious, immoral and insensitive pension law that he enacted for himself while in office. This latest cover-up has only succeeded in raising more questions than answers. It has also evidently shown that the government's spin doctors have exhausted their basket of lies-a thing that has become a routine pastime in the life of the present APC-led administration in Kwara State. Arising from the government's latest official cover-up for Saraki, we raise the following posers: If in truth Mr. Bukola Saraki had not demanded for security operatives since he left office three years ago, why then did the speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Mr. Razaq Atunwa, on Tuesday, 10th September, 2013 threaten to sue the IGP for allegedly vi ...

CHUKWUDI AKASIKE reports DEMOCRACY has proven to be the best form of government for most countries seeking to develop at a fast pace. Separation of power, which is one of the features of this form of government, adds colour to democracy and makes government structures in the countries that practise it a delight of the people. Many are of the view that Nigeria operates a pseudo-democracy that has separation of power only on paper. The three arms of government appear to be dependent on each other in carrying out the ...
Greatest Kwarans if this is true, let's profer a way forward, our future lies in our hand... STORY OF THEIR LEEADER. Senator Bukola Saraki and his pedigree is no newsto Nigerians, first as the first son of the Baba Oloye, Dr. Olusola Saraki and later as governor of the North Central State of Kwara, where both father and son held sway before the demise of the older Saraki. As a true son of his father and the new leader of the Saraki political dynasty that has held the people of Kwara State chokingly in vice grip since the second republic, Dr. Bukola Saraki stepped into his father’s shoes without much ado. Continuing in the tradition of his father even after leaving office, with the aid of a successor who has been described as a mere puppet or in the words of an analyst, “a toothless bingo who wags his tail occasionally but quickly recoils same once his master barks, Saraki, the medical doctor turned politician has been able to transform into a de-facto governor wielding an iron grip on the state governme ...

By: Prof Pius Adesanmi Paparazzi or no paparazzi, I love that fundamental human gesture of blood donation in response to the Nyanya tragedy by some of our usual suspects. I cannot therefore place a finger on why Bukola Saraki's blood donation in particular has been doing me one kain since yesterday. I don't know what exactly I am worried about or why I am worried. I guess there are some what ifs disturbing me. What if on receiving Bukola Saraki's blood I develop an insatiable appetite for depositors' funds after the transfusion? Should the recipient of this particular blood donation be isolated, placed under observation for five years, and prevented from working within ten kilometres of a bank during this observation period? What if Alamsco, Bode George, Dimeji Bankole, Lucky Igbinedion and Sons Nigeria Limited all decide to donate blood in response to this tragedy? What sort of blood bank would that be? Sometimes, being a Jehovah's Witness is an excellent way to avoid having to deal with some potentially ...
Saraki urges Jonathan to call broadbased meeting on security Chairman of Nigeria’s Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to call an emergency meeting of leaders of political parties, opinion leaders and religious leaders to discuss the the endemic problems of insecurity in the country. The former governor of Kwara State gave the suggestion in his reaction to the deadly twin bomb blasts at the crowded Nyanya bus station in Abuja today. Over 70 people died in the blasts and 124 were injured. He described as baffling and heartbreaking that scores of innocent citizens have been killed and lamented that the nation was yet again faced with another great loss of innocent lives at the hands of terrorists. In a statement he personally signed, Saraki noted that the growing insecurity which has spanned over three years unabated has continued to threaten the unity of the nation as well as weaken its socio-economic and political strength. He said: “ I ...
Opinion: The Many 'Sins' of Bukola Saraki. By Wale Bakare truth to the saying that old sins cast longer shadows. And as humans, revenge is the ultimate antidote that can be employed to make one feel spite against our transgressors. To stand up shoulder high to the presidency is no mean feat and Bukola Saraki would have been in the best position to lecture us on the challenges that comes with being a whistleblower. The weapon of revenge is being deployed visibly on a daily basis with an uncommon desperation to clamp down on anyone with the audacity to challenge the present administration and its self-inflicted status quo. For the Jonathanians, Senator Bukola Saraki is a ‘sinner’ who would not go scot-free until he repents to do their biddings. As it stands, the momentum is fast building again and there are indications to believe that Saraki’s ‘old sins’ are somewhat worse, than his ‘new sin’. Saraki’s travails may have started in 2011 when he voted in support of the botched PDP zoning formu ...

Femi Adeoya just pointed me to a statement by Bukola Saraki in the PUNCH thus: 1. "He argued that the money being spent on the national conference was not contained in the 2014 budget. “I told my colleagues that it might probably be coming from the missing $20bn.” [Well he was only quoted in the second sentence] So I had to seek out this from Daily Trust of December 25, 2013: 2. "The Federal Government has budgeted N7 billion for the proposed national conference scheduled to hold early next year. The confab fund is captured in the 2014 budget estimates under the heading “National Dialogue.” Well, there you have it - when the 2014 budget was presented by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, one of the major highlights was this "N7Bn Item for the National Confab" and it was public knowledge to the point that it became an instant news material, so I am wondering if this is a direct FLAW by SARAKI himself; or he is being INTENTIONALLY MISCHIEVOUS; or could it be his YOUNGER AIDES that does his research work that m .. ...
Mandelalising Kwara Economy! If the synonymous words to freedom would increase, Mandela would be the best word. A man of vision and freedom fighter. If he would have been sent with a book, his scripture would be in opposite shelf to that of Moses. While, the popular says of "eye for eye" is the most popular quote of Moses book, Mandela had a very different opinion that the best weapon to fight your enemy is love. Mugabe would have bought such doctrine the white farmers will still be exploiting the blacks in Zimbabwe and Bukola Saraki wouldn't have paralyzed kwara Agricultural system for Shonga farm to triumph. Just three days ago, Ogun state government cleared and prepared about 250,000 hectares of land for interesting farmers to commence a rice farming but Saraki initiative was to take over 13000 hectares of land, cleared it and handed over to evicted Zimbabwe white farmers. Saraki has failed Kwarans - Orisun Igbomina Date: 2014-03-16 There is no doubt that the All Progress Congress (APC) led government in Kwara State has continue to fail the entire people of the state by embarking on policies that has no meaningful and direct impact in the lives of the masses. Rather, all it believes in is unwarranted propaganda which has further worsen the situation on ground as everyone outside Kwara have the mindset that all is well with the people while numerous problems occasioned by lack of focused and God fearing leaders lingering among our people. Once again, we the entire members of the Orisun Igbomina remain resolute and concern with the yearnings of average Kwarans who are suffering in silence and reaping the fruit sew by a selfish individual with little or no concern about the welfare of our people. In fact, I nod my head in shame for Dr. Bukola Saraki who had refused to learn from the words of the elders as he continue to demonstrate high sense of non-challant attitude to the wh ...

THE ''TRUTH'' ACCORDING TO PAPA CLARK Do you feel your campaign against former Delta State governor, James Ibori, was successful with what happened to him and what he’s going through? "Ibori’s case is just one case. I am sorry to say that many of the governors have been charged to court and their cases have been in court for over six years unheard; nobody cares about them. I wrote an open letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria at the time and he replied and said yes, I was right and he tried to pinpoint what went wrong. Senior Advocates of Nigeria go to court to adjourn cases; they do all kinds of things to delay trials. Meanwhile, justice is being denied. Some of these governors are now senators in the National Assembly. They behave as if they have not committed any offence. Can you imagine people like Bukola Saraki are now senators? Nobody has asked about what he did to Societe Generale Bank where shareholders and depositors lost their money. He behaves as if nothing has happened. What of the money ...
Opinion: Modibbo Kawu's bete noire for Bukola Saraki. By Ade Fakuyi Date: 2014-03-13 I read END GAME FOR BUKOLA SARAKI's KWARA HEGEMONY by Is'haq Modibbo Kawu in Vanguard Newspaper, 6th of March, 2014. Later, I stumbled on a rejoinder authored by the Spokesman of All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari. Having read both, the raison d'etre for Mr Modibbo's article was simply the crowd at Metropolitan Square, Ilorin for a PDP rally. Mr President, Mr Vice President, Mr Senate President and others were in attendance. The Spokesman of APC has analysed the politics of the crowd in his rejoinder. I have been reliably informed that PDP members were mobilized from about six(6) states including Mr President home state. It is free-from-error to conclude the nitty-gritty of Mr Modibbo's article has failed the test of facts and reality. I have never had a close encounter with both Senator Bukola Saraki and Mr Modibbo Kawu but I know the duo well enough to author their biographies. Mr Modibbo ha ...

IEDPU angered as Bukola Saraki gatecrashes Pre-CONFAB Meeting Our Reporters An attempt by a former Governor of Kwara State, Sen. Bukola Saraki, to publicly showcase his popularity on the streets of Ilorin today boomeranged as executive members of the Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressives Union (IEDPU) stringently protested against the former Governor’s alleged gatecrash of the meeting of the body which held today in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. A member of the executives of the Union, who confided in E-Kwara today angrily bemoaned what he termed the ‘indecorous and highly disrespectful behavior of the former Governor for turning the all important meeting of the IEDPU to yet another political jamboree.” The member, who asked not to be named because of the sensitive nature of the matter, described the situation as ‘embarrassing and an eyesore.’ “We have tried all our best to ensure that the IEDPU is insulated from politicians. We have even recently affirmed that fact, especially in the ligh ...
(OPINION) End game for Bukola Saraki’s Kwara hegemony This week, President Goodluck Jonathan led a delegation of PDP bigwigs to attend what was termed a “Unity/Freedom Rally”, in Ilorin, Kwara State. Senate President, David Mark, must have spoken the minds of other members of the delegation when he confessed apprehension that they might have just a few people to receive the delegation. They were shocked! Kwarans from all walks of life turned out in thousands to receive the team. And believe me when I say that it was NOT a rented crowd! People trekked from far and near. All the dirty tricks in the books had been employed by Bukola Saraki and his sidekicks in the Kwara State administration to hamper people’s turnout: civil servants were ordered to stay in offices for ‘screening’; APC members were directed to remain in their wards to await distribution of money; a number of Tokunbo taxicabs were scheduled for distribution to road transport workers inside Government House and timed to coincide wit ...
Sanusi Sues Jonathan Over Suspension. Suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has dragged President Goodluck Jonathan before a Federal High Court in Abuja over his suspension from office. Sanusi was suspended by Jonathan last Thursday over alleged involvement in financial recklessness. In the suit, the suspended apex bank boss is urging the court to restrain the president, the attorney-general of the federation and the inspector-general of police from giving effect to his purported suspension from office as the governor of the CBN, pending the determination of his suit. He also asked the court to make an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from obstructing, disturbing, stopping or preventing him, in any manner whatsoever, from performing the functions of his office as the CBN governor and enjoying in full the statutory powers and privileges attached to the office. One of the lead lawyers to Sanusi, Chief Kola Awodein (SAN), told the court ...

Amsar da Sen. Bukola Saraki ya bawa yan' jarida lokacin da suka tambaye shi dalilin barin sa PDP Now, why did you leave the PDP? A lot has been going on about the way the PDP is being run, starting from right after the last convention and they dissolved the congress of Adamawa. I am one of those who said we can’t just get up and be doing those kinds of things because it sends a wrong signal about the party. Take also the issue of the NGF and what followed with not following due process and internal democracy which now led to the party not holding meetings and the like. Take also the case of Kwara State: we concluded plans to go into Local Government elections and we have gone through primaries and the party had even gone to inspect the primaries and then all of a sudden, 24 hours later someone sits here in Abuja and just writes a list of 193 councillors and 16 chairmen with no respect at all for what the wishes of the people are! I raised it because I felt it was a danger to the economy and budget implementation if we are spending over N2 trillion on PMS. It was not that whether subsidy should exist or not. What I was saying was that even while we were having subsidy, it could be managed within an amount that was more reasonable than this. The subsidy was just being used as an excuse to mismanage funds, breed corruption and not be transparent. And the amounts we were talking about were too huge for everybody to keep quiet. There was a lot of pressure on me to keep quiet and I know what I have gone through because of that subsidy. Before that subsidy I had a perfect relationship with the entire executive arm of government. I worked hard for the PDP; I was hard working, a very good boy. I was in good books. But my problems began the ...
Democracy is working in Kwara State. Senator Bukola Saraki earned my regard when he came up with governorship rotation in the state. And he has not defaulted. Kwara Central has ruled. Kwara North is ruling. After 8 years, it will be the turn of Kwara South. I am for rotation. God bless the State of Harmony!
"The issue of kerosene; subsidy on kerosene has been removed since 2011. There is a presidential directive to that effect, but because of the high level of impunity and illegality, people just continue paying subsidy on it. Because of that we are losing close to N700 million daily. For people like us, these issues are too huge to keep quite. If you are doing one contract may be the profit is N10, goodluck to you, but this one is endangering our economy. At $107 per barrel, we have no money in our excess crude account, and states have not shared money. It is not like before. For the last seven months now, states have not shared money yet the thing is still going down. So why shouldn’t we all be responsible enough to say these things must stop. The man you said you are subsidising for is not buying at N50. Nigerians buy kerosene at N120 to N130. Filling stations are even issuing receipts, so it is not something they are hiding. Why is an importer who supposedly bought from NNPC at N50 selling at N120? Su ...

THE DECONSTRUCTION OF SANUSI Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi took the Federal Govt to court, asking among other things, a reinstatement to his former position and a declaration that his purported suspension is illegal, null and void. Prince Ikechukwu Nwafuru, Mazi Mike Amakeze and Nonso Kainene represented the Federal Govt. Sanusi entered the witness box to testify. The following took place between the hours of 9am and 12noon. Events occur in real time. Defendant's Counsel: Mallam, in your witness statement on oath, you claimed that the reason the President suspended you from office is because you opened a can of worms on the operations of the NNPC and how the corporation rips off the Nation. Sanusi: That's right. Defendant's Counsel: And that the President lacks powers to remove you unilaterally without the approval of the two third majority of the Senate. Bukola Saraki states how he entered black book of President Jonathan
JONATHAN TO STORM KWARA,TO ROOT OUT BUKOLA SARAKI AND HIS APC GANG The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the people of the state to troop out to receive President Goodluck Jonathan and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who are visiting the state tomorrow. President Jonathan and the party’s National Chairman, Alh Adamu Muazu will address a rally at the Ilorin Metropolitan Square on Monday. The rally will also receive new defectors into the party. PDP caretaker committee chairman in the state, Hon. Solomon Edoja had on Friday told newsmen that seven different committees had been inaugurated towards the successful hosting of the president, saying Jonathan and other big wigs of the PDP are coming to join Kwarans in what he called their “liberation struggle”. GOSAYSNET members on ground observed that the venue of the rally has been decorated with PDP’s flag hoisted all over the place, just as billboards bearing Jonathan and Muazu’s photographs were mounted in strategi ...
Everything is still working good for my Able leader Bukola Saraki noni! Oloyee!
Read INTERVIEW with politics is certainly in Omo Baba Oloye's blood. I dove my hat!
A bipartisan approach is needed to fight Boko Haram - Senator Dr Bukola Saraki:
"The level of participation in politics now is so high. That is why you will see shockers in 2015" - Bukola Saraki
Sen. Bukola Saraki is not your typical Nigerian politician.
ON THE DAILY KEROSINE SUBSIDY OF N700M "The man on the street that you claim you are subsidising kerosine for is not getting it at N50! Why can’t we do what is right? All these things are not personal. What is wrong is wrong! This subsidy on kerosene must stop, not tomorrow! We continue to speak, but every day, N700 million is gone. Just imagine it, every single day N700 million going into some people’s pocket. But what do you make of the claim that presidential directive without being gazetted can be ignored? Oh please! I don’t like people insulting our intelligence. What do you mean by presidential directive not gazetted? It is nothing but an afterthought. Gazetted? Even Ministry of Finance said it is not in the budget. So, what supersedes? Is it what is not gazetted or what is in the constitution? Those are lame excuses, it’s not about gazette. Is it in the budget? The country cannot afford to be spending $3.5billion on something that is not necessary. Even if you go back to 2011, we state ...
One thing with this government is that whoever is caught doing something wrong will say it’s because I am from the South East or it’s because I am from Kwara. We always try to bring ethnicity to defend anything we cannot defend. Sen. Bukola Saraki
Forget this entire directive or gazette. Is it in the budget? If it is not, where did you get the authority to incur expenditure? One is driven by the constitution and the other by gazette. This expenditure you are incurring on kerosene, where is it in the budget? The authority that allows you incur this expenditure, does not exist, that is the truth!Abubakar Bukola Saraki
That was a matter that could have been easily resolved. What does NGF chairman do politically? Nothing! Can Amaechi stop the President if he wants to contest? It’s not possible! These are governors, they are all equals. It is just that there are lots of sycophants around. I was there and if a chairman is doing something they don’t like, they would call him to order – ‘Sir, this is not what we sent you to say, sit down.’ Often times, you are always the scapegoat who carries the bad news. Whenever difficult things are to be said, maybe you need some money or you need the government to reduce some spending, you are always the one that will have to convey the message to the president. The one conveying such messages is always seen as the bad person.Abubakar Bukola Saraki
How to defeat Boko Haram, By Bukola Saraki - As with all insurgencies, fighting Boko Haram is not just for the military to tackle. The success for Nigeria in fighting Boko Haram and terrorism in general is largely dependent upon two other key issues: leadership and political cooperation. See his logic [and tell us if you agree with Saraki. Do not forget to comment your ideas on how to defeat Boko Haram if they differ from his.

Incisive interview of Bukola Saraki by Its worth reading guys. We've been saying these things over and over again
As at the time I came into office, several things had collapsed. From banks to stock exchange, they had crashed. Inflation was at 15.6percent three months before I became Central Bank Governor; there was already instability in every sector of the economy. When I look back, I thank God for the people who supported us and criticized us as well because criticism has made us stronger. Also, when I look back, I can point to several things that have changed after our arrival and till date. Keeping inflation down For the first time in a long while, we have been able to keep inflation at about 7percent since January 2013 and it is still like that up till this moment. As far as instability and exchange rate is concerned, we have worked tirelessly to ensure things work out well for the economy. We also introduced cash reduction in the system. Although most people didn't like it because they felt it will add more problem to the exchange rate because people want to buy dollars but against all odds, the cashless polic ...
Something that Nasir El- Rufai and Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar and Bukola Saraki and their people need to understand is that if there is no country called Nigeria then they can not be thinking of taking power in 2015 and beyond it. Right now we need to get a Nigeria and only them can we discuss the prospects of an opposition.

LEADERSHIP AS A PRICE TAG. Accusation and prasies about what is known and unknown of the Turaki of Ilorin (Sen. Abubakar Bukola Saraki) can not be curtailed in this muddy political terrain where, every other person in jealouse of the other, for no other justifiable reason than envy! Leadership has a price tag, and for a recougnised political leader like the Turaki of Ilorin, he needs not to look too far away to recourgnise who his avowed detractors are! It can not be otherwise; despite the supreme prize of such leaders as Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, chife Ladoke Akintola, Chife Obafemi Awolowo and Chife Okotiebor etc, their detractors have not seen anything good in them, even to the present day! And this make me realise that, human beign can not be satisfy, and they did'nt appreciate what is closer to them, despite all its goodies. Let do it together, togetherness we can; just for the love of our people.morning to you all, and have a blessful weekend.

DARING: PDP Youths Mount Party’s Billboard in Bukola Saraki Ancestral Home - Unfazed by the likely backlash of their action, some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths in Agbaji, the ancestral home of Dr. Bukola Saraki, last week unveiled a mini billboard announcing the presence of the PDP in the area. Led by Mr. Hammed Solagberu, a youth leader in Ajikobi ward of the Sarakis, the PDP youths insisted that the defection of Mr. Saraki notwithstanding, the PDP is still relevant and strong in the area. At the unveiling of the billboard, various youth leaders taunted Mr. Saraki and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the forthcoming 2015 elections of the APC terminal date in the state. Sanusi, his school mate at kings college and friend, Bukola Saraki and Lai Alabi allegedly fraudulently acquired Intercontinental Bank Plc
The only policy that Lamido Sanusi Implemented whie in the saddle as CBN Governor that didn't go down well with me was the controversial removal of Dr. Erastus Akingbola as the CEO of the defunct Intercontinental Bank leading to the questionable acquisition of the bank by Dr. Bukola Saraki, using the Yar'adua's clan and Mr. AIG Imaquode, CEO, Access Bank. Aside that, Sanusi was on point!
THE REAL VESTED INTERESTS: Act1 scene1 September 29th,2010. Erastus Akingbola's Petition exposes Bukola Saraki, Lamido Sanusi... Erastus Akingbola, former MD/CEO Intercontinental Bank PLC wrote the AGF thus: The Honourable Attorney-General & Minister Of Justice Attorney-General’s Chambers Federal Ministry Of Justice, Abuja. Dear Sir: 1. About two and a half years ago, Dr. Bukola Saraki requested that we merge Societe Generale with Intercontinental Bank (IB) Plc. We conducted a due diligence exercise and noticed N30bn negative capital – so the board of IB Plc turned it down. Dr. Saraki was very unhappy. 2. When time came for the renewal of Gov. Soludo’s appointment as CBN Governor, Dr. Saraki blocked it with late President Yar’Adua and brought him Lamido Sanusi. Being my customer, Dr. Saraki confirmed this personally to me. 3. Lamido Sanusi was appointed CBN Gov. on 4th June, 2009, and on the 18th June, - after just two weeks in office – he sent CBN examiners to five banks including IB Plc. This ...
A LEADER WITHOUT THE LED Contrary to the make belief of the scanty few still following the self acclaimed leader , it is obvious that the group is fast loosing its followership in droves. The popular adage is that a river that forgets / looses its source is on its way to getting dry. Bukola Saraki has lost the grip of its source and expectedly his hold on the reign is ebbing away while he looks on helplessly. His efforts at regaining the lost glory has been futile as it has been financially challenging. Such efforts include the sudden fraternisation with the Magajis which include financial inducements and giving them some sense of importance and inclusiveness. This arrangement was packaged by the Magaji Nda of Ile Nda. As fruitful as the effort would have been , Mr Woru's greed and over bearing nature made a nonsense of the attempt. Not only did Magaji Nda took more than half of the N3m given , he shared the rest favouring some Magajis to the disadvantage of others. His careless way of addressing people . ...

APC LANDORDS AND TENANTS- BAYO ADEYINKA The euphoria was great. There was a feeling of change in the atmosphere. All across the nation, the song of change was on the lips of most people. From the elite to the down trodden, everyone was tired of the ignoble PDP. Then suddenly, just like the proverbial ants that will always locate the smell of anything sweet, even from a distance, they came. APC was seeking power desperately and will therefore accommodate anyone and any strategy no matter whose ox was gored. Old friends who were in the party through the formative stages right from the days of the former Action Congress of Nigeria suddenly found themselves holding the short end of the stick. *THE POLITICAL BETRAYAL IN KWARA PDP* Kwara and the politics of betrayals By Khadijat Abiola Alabi. We are indeed in a season of politics. It is also repulsively, a period for betrayals; when it is more beneficial to betray your benefactor for a pot of political favour from the centre of administrative gravity than to stay on the godly principle of faithfulness. Things have gone so bizarre that politicians can now sell their birth rights for temporary political and economic imaginary benefits. I was not old enough to understand how things went in Nigeria’s first republic but I have read enough to appreciate the commitment of participants in the politics of that era to the principles of friendships and relationships as veritable platform for building lasting political legacies. That is why we still have several political children of the leaders of that era till date. The same scenario could be said to have also manifested during the second republic where men followed those who were their leaders and comm ...

NEED TO EMANCIPATE Kwara State FROM SARAKI HEGEMONY! If I were Abdufatah Ahmed, Gov of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki's exit from PDP would have been an opportunity to reposition and emancipate the people of the state from age-long hegemony of the Saraki dynasty! I would seize upon the defection to make the blind political life of the people dynamic! I would stimulate their political consciousness so that they would not serve one family forever! But I doubt if the political sedative in the blood vessels of the Kwarans can be neutralized! For over 40 years the late Dr Olusola Saraki (Baba Oloye) held sway on the people like cattle, leading them with a stroke of political rod! Now, the political slaves in Kwara State have yielded to Bukola, the heir of the same domineering Saraki dynasty! For how long will this slavery last? Only time will tell!
I see no difference in Nigeria politicians no matter the party they belong to. The defection here and there is not because of the masses but to serve their purse. Bukola Saraki defected to APC in search of Senatorial president sit, then what are we saying. Tinubu want to turn Lagos state to his personal property by forcing his family in to key post in the state, Ajimobi refused to conduct Local Government election because of the benefit he his deriving from the revenue of the 33 Local Government. AFTERMATH OF MERGER 2 If things do not change and the APC is united going into 2015 elections, no other party stands a chance in Kwara. Kwara has always presented a fascinating scenario to political analysts. For decades, the late Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki ruled the waves. He literally dictated the pace of things and direction of voting. It took his disaffection with the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in 1983 to pave the way for the Unity Party of Nigeria. He literally singlehandedly installed Alhaji Shaaba Lafiaji as governor in the Third Republic and Rear Admiral Mohammed Alabi Lawal at inception of the Fourth Republic in 1999. In 2003, he brought in his son, Bukola Saraki who repeated the feat in 2007. However, a parting of way between father and son in 2011 saw the emergence of the current governor who had received the blessing and support of the former governor, now in the Senate. So, just before the transition of the former strongman, another had emerged. The former governor has a full hold on th ...
No sooner than the Kwara State APC got infested with ABS virus.Did u people carefully study the Ishola Balogun Fulani's recent reckless outbursts? Kawu Baraje G-7 governors: no stopping us Posted by: Gbade Ogunwale, Abuja in Featured, News October 29, 2013 •Progressive governors, PDM, Atiku slam police The Group of Seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors and the Baraje faction of the ruling party yesterday declared that their activities cannot be stopped in spite of the harassment they are suffering. On Sunday night, their meeting proposed for the Sokoto State Governor’s Lodge was stopped by the police. But in a communiqué released yesterday, they claimed to have held the meeting at an undisclosed location, using the Sokoto Governor’s Lodge as a decoy. According to the resolutions of the meeting released by the Baraje PDP’s Publicity Secretary Chukwuemeka Eze, those in attendance were: Governors Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano); Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); former governors Adamu Aliero (Kebbi State); Bukola Saraki (Kwara State); Danjuma Goje (Gombe State); and Abdullahi ...
Bukola Saraki and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State have joined our party the APC. It has been impossible for years to dislodge these criminals from Kwara State Government house, mainly because of the support they have enjoyed from the Federal Government to always rig every election in the state. Bukola Saraki’s father, the late Olusola Saraki was a pain in the neck -a complete nuisance to the ambition of the Yoruba people in the old Kwara, now Kwara and Western Kogi States to join the rest of Western Region/South-West. Now that Bukola and Fatah have joined us, we must never forget their atrocities. Whilst Kwara APC chairman rejects the second term bid of Fatah for that of a descendant of Afonja and reduce Bukola’s electoral influence in Kwara to zero, the leftover of the PDP in Kwara should field a progressive Yoruba as governorship candidate, who is open to Kwara State joining the rest of the South-West. Late Olusola Saraki, his son Bukola Saraki and stooge, Abdulfatah Ahmed have always rigge ...

To hate is to add pressure to your heart.how can the dynasty that's been broken inside with hatred and hostility sustain for long. Its no news that Bukola Saraki and Gbemisola Saraki are known enemy, they have even go to the extent of displaying it in public. Both are children of political warrior and oracle of kwara politics in his time (Dr Olusola Saraki),its seems the duo are fighting for who will champion the course of maintaining the dogs their father left behind. Thanks to Gbemi for making it known that Bukola is nothing but animal that don't deserve to be a brother, how can someone who can't manage his family by bringing them together without been selfish and hungary for power manage our state well. Its a pity that the leader lack courtesy as he couldn't greet his sister he met at church service.for those who still believe Bukola is still the leader of kwara politics, they should know that An accidental leader is as good as accidental pilot and very soon all of them will crash like Dana air line.Watchout
How Saraki siblings shunned each other at Professor Ogunshola’s burial By Daily Post Staff on November 24, 2013 The feud between Senator Rukayat Gbemi Saraki and her brother, Senator Bukola Saraki took a dangerous twist today as the Saraki siblings shunned each other throughout the duration of the church service despite that they both sat close to each other. Dailypost learnt that trouble started when Dr. Bukola Saraki arrived at the 1st Baptist Church, venue of the wake-keep, around 1:30pm, only to meet his sister already seated with her friends and security aides. But instead of exchanging pleasantries with Gbemi as protocol ordinarily demands, he made for his reserved seat with straight face. It was a tensed atmosphere throughout the three hours duration of the church service as the siblings avoided direct eye contacts. Dailypost correspondent, who was present at the church service observed that Gbemi had earlier deliberately placed her gold-plated purse on the white plastic chair that was directly n ...
At the first anniversary prayer of late strongman of Kwara politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki, in Ilorin on Friday, 14th November, 2013, one thing was conspicuous, the absence of three of his childen: Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Laolu Saraki and Tope Saraki. It seemed like an all Bukola Saraki affair.
Opinion: How well has ABS Sustained Baba Saraki's Legacies? - By Wale Bakare a year ago, the political era that spanned for several decades in Kwara State came to an end with the demise of Baba, the great Waziri of Ilorin, Olusola Saraki at the age of 79 years. A new era was birthed, with Bukola Saraki bequeathed with a political structure left behind by the former strongman of Kwara politics. However, questions have been raised by observers in terms of the sustainability of Baba's legacy thus far as it affects the people and the political structure in the State. How well has the Bukola Saraki era faired in piloting the affairs of the State? Since taking up the leadership mantle, expectation has remained high for Bukola Saraki to fill the vacuum created by the former second republic Senate leader. Just like a dress rehearsal Bukola Saraki's transition both in leadership and human managerial capacity transcend the imagination of his followers to become a man of the people that he is today by virtue of his ...

Oba Abdulraheem, a misguided professor Details Category: ARTICLES Monday, 11 November 2013 By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat Sequel to requests by friends on Social Media asking my view about the ongoing crisis between Dr. Bukola Saraki, the son of late Kwara strong man Dr. Olusola Saraki, and the boss of Federal Character Commission (FCC), Professor Abdulraheem Oba, I deem it quit proper at this point to air my view on the saga. Worthy to note is the fact that, I hardly comment on personal political issues, especially between erstwhile partners. However, several calls and unfolding events in the state challenged me into breaking my silence to put this piece together. Since the commencement of the crisis, several reports emanating from both camps have littered the airwave, but what caught my attention mostly was a report credited to professor Abdulraheem Oba, were the federal character boss said and I quote, ‘’if he (Bukola) made you, he didn’t make me because I’m already at the peak of my career when he (Bu ...
SALLAH TRAGEDY: DECLARE SARAKI’S RESIDENCE AND CAMPAIGN OFFICE DISASTER ZONES By Adewale Adefila The ugly incident of October 16th, 2013 where scores of Nigerians lost their lives in a rather controversial manner at the Iloffa road, GRA residence of Dr. Bukola Saraki must be given the desired attention by relevant authorities going by the number of causalities and its frequency. The media reports showed that scores of people died on Wednesday night at the residence of Dr. Bukola Saraki in Ilorin as against the press statement hurriedly issued at about 11pm of that night by Masu’d Adebimpe the PDP spokesman in Kwara State. The reports are: AIT-20, THE PUNCH-10, THE NATION-4 while the PDP put it at just 4. And today a newspaper reported that the death toll has risen to 20. This is where we begin to smell rat, was the PDP out to distort fact or mislead the unsuspecting public by rushing to feed the media half-truth that same night? Why would the party and its sponsor not wait for independent investigatio ...

FG begins clampdown on New PDP members The Federal Government may have tactically commenced a total clampdown on members of the New Peoples Democratic Party. Already, an event centre, A-Park, own by Senator Aisha Al-Hassan, a staunch member of the faction of the ruling party located near OAU Quarters in Maitama, Abuja, has been marked for demolition. Our correspondent gathered that Al-Hassan had been served a notice of demolition by the Federal Capital Territory. Al-Hassan, who hails from Taraba State, however, insisted that she was given permission to build the event centre, adding that she might be forced to approach the court to stop the demolition. But the Special Assistant to the Minister of FCT on Media, Mr. Nosike Ogbuenyi, said that the senator was just given a temporary permit, which he said forbade her from erecting a permanent structure on the land. He said the senator also signed an undertaking to vacate the land anytime the authority needed it. He said, “The operator was given a temporary p ...

Boko Haram will fade away —Emir The Emir of Ilorin and chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has allayed the fear that the Boko Haram insurgency may escalate in the country. This is just as he said insecurity being experienced in many parts of the nation would not spread to the state, while he charged religious adherents to ensure peaceful co-existence in their communities through tolerance. Speaking shortly after the two-rakat Eid prayer observed by Muslim faithful at the central praying ground, Ilorin, on Tuesday, the emir charged government at all levels to further ensure provision of basic social amenities capable of transforming lives of the masses and also advised people in the state to always abide by the rules set by constituted authorities. He also appealed to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, to provide a more spacious environment for Muslim cemetery, saying the present site in use was already filled. Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Moham ...

FIGMENT OF IMAGINATION! It has come to the notice of ABS Movement, an uninformed publication on a faceless FB page that the distinguished Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki has raised a delegation of Traditional rulers in the state to go and plead with Mr. President in Abuja in order to avoid being prosecuted by anti-corruption agencies. It reads: "Bukola Saraki, an arrow head of the PDP split, has dispatched a delegation of Kwara traditional rulers to beg President Jonathan." We want to state that the current impasse in PDP is not an interpersonal crisis and hence cannot warrant the kind of above alleged action. The fact that Social Media facilities can be accessed freely by anyone, anywhere and at anytime does not means they should be used to defame progressive public figures who are truly committed to national building and the emancipation of the masses. Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki is one of the few Nigerians who have taken some 'somewhat' anti-corruption stands in the face of political intimidation b . ...

BUKOLA SARAKI IS EMPTY, ARROGANT, AND CAN'T WIN SENATE SEAT IN 2015...Interview with Lawyer Kunle Suleiman, firs PDP chairman in Kwara State. Unedited. As it was delivered. Revealing. Deep rooted. Lawyer Kunle Sulyman, first Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Kwara State opens up on so many issues. His thoughts were brought as we got it. Hot. Sizzling and frank. Enjoy reading the exclusive interview he granted this newspaper. Tell us about your party in Kwara. Back in Kwara, I was fortunate to have been the first chairman of the party at formation in 1999. Today, people are heavily disenchanted about the way that Bukola Saraki is managing the party. His style of leadership is not welcome. This includes the governor if we can call him a governor. I recently read a magazine where he was described as Nigeria’s most powerless governor. It tells you the type of things we are going through in Kwara. It is a shame. The people are tired of all these. The truth and summary is that Kwarans are not happy w ...

Kwara Watch, Kwara Voice, Kwara Sight etc...The corruption and criminality of Kwara State Government has ensured that we have plenty online advocy groups. Alhamdulilahi, Kwara is changing and people are abandoning the toga of ignorance. Yes, Kwarans of today may suffer, but they will not do so in silent. And for those gentlemen who are still deluding themselves and defending lies about Bukola Saraki and his co-travellers, I advise that you check your conscience and try as much as possible to be on the positive side of history. Sure, when the tyranic hold of Bukola on Kwara eventually breaks, we will compile your names as those who side with deception and the enslavement of a state we all call our own.
For the past twelve years impunity has became a democratically achieved principle in Nigeria and order of the DAY among our former and present governors, Former governor of Enugu state Dr.Chimaroke Nnamani stole US$552million from the Enugu state account during his tenure, James Ibori of Delta state stole US$500million, Bukola Saraki of Kwara State stole N65billion, Saminu Turaki of Jigawa state stole 36billion, Prince Abubakar Audu of Kogi state mismanaged $380billion, and including other governors, today their sons and daughters are in the most expensive places in the foreign countries, and attends the highest clubs with our money. EFCC and the Police are been control by this evil men. But trust me, the NYRM will conquer them soon, and confiscate their properties. The security agencies are fools, they only enforce law and order to the common people. Please forward this message to all your friends, home and abroad... From Nigerian Youths Redemption Movement.

How can Bukola Saraki emerge as a political godfather in this present Kwara State?
Sen. Bukola Saraki has no reasonable advisers, dey could rather be called destroyer or parasites. Sen. Bukola is a leader agreed but he himself lacks d qualities of leadership. What leadership entails is beyond gathering youths every time and started making fictious promise. Sentiment apart d present government in Kwara State has failed woefully, Gov. Abdulfatai canot act as a real governor duely elected. D National Chairman of PDP Alh. Bamaga Tukur came 4 a program in ARMTI, d PDP executive in Kwara State had to beg Alh. Bamaga wit millions of naira just to allow dem to receive him. We are using dis forum to advise our able leader dat b4 dis disgrace becomes unbearable, we should start looking 4 another political party. Dat is why I said all Sen. Bukola's advisers or kitchen cabinet are unreasonable. Dey are pushing Oga to fight dose dat will lead him to d right way like IDPU, Prof. Oba, Jonatha &odas so dat kwara will benefit. When Sen. Bukola has any case wit EFCC or ICPC all dose Oga's local advisers ...
Ever since the controversies that heralded the re-appointment of Prof. Oba Abu vis--vis the alleged opposition of Dr. Bukola Saraki berthed, I have consciously opted to remain loudly silent and deliberately removed myself from the epicenter of the raging battle- the online platforms. Although this is quite unlike me (as I have subconsciously, albeit unfortunately cultivated the habit of the Nigerian bandwagon style of reacting on impulse on topical national issues), but my reason to 'stare clear' was equally plausible. This is because in all honesty, I believed that a lot of people were acting only on impulse and losing their minds along the line on a matter that has not left the threshold of rumor, innuendos and outright lies. Yet, I was careful enough not lose sight of the fact of unpredictability of politics and politicians alike. I was thus playing the 'sidon dey look' game. But certain events in the last two weeks have inexplicably spurred me out of my shell, thereby inevitably swinging me between ...

Alhaji Maja, Bibire Ajape, Nasir Ayilara and others are our leaders in the Sen. Bukola Saraki's camp but they are misleading us because they ought to call Oga to order. Sincerely, the step taken by Sen. Bukola in mobilizing against Prof. Oba was totally wrong and disgraceful. Alhaji Maja said Prof. Oba is ingrate, to whom? 1999 Late Gov. Muhammed Lawal gave Alhaji Maja Commissioner for Works, now when Sen. Bukola believes that Maja only good in dancing with old women he was given SA political because Bukola knows that Maja has no any intellagence than dancing. Ok has he been given any reasonable post after the tenure of Gov. Lawal, so who is ingrate then? Let's take for instance, Hon. Mashood Mustapha, Ali Ahmad. Bolaji Abdullahi and Atunwa came from no where, can't we see the position they are today because Bukola believe they are better than Maja and others. The painful thing is that Sen. Which kind loyalty do you expect us to have, when the Senator is working against a man Allah created to wipe tear from the face of masses. Some went ahead to conclude dat Prof. Oba is disloyal to Sen. Bukola Saraki, on what ground. When late Olusola Saraki was crying in 2003 dat we should vote for Sen. Bukola to become governor, did we collect kobo from him? So, we voted for him to defeat late Muhammed Lawal. Please my people our future is important, Sen. Bukola does not want us to become Senator, Governor or top public officer but they reserve KWARBES for us ten thousand per month. Ok the question is that how much does Oga spend on his children every month? So, they want us rely on the KWARBES ten thousand and 50 naira with puff puff. We cannot support Sen. We can no more adhere to leadership style of Sen. Bukola Saraki because it is obvious that the senator only commit to his personal interest, not for the benefit of the masses. Sen. The big Nigerian ‘patriots’ who also signed the remarkable document that nailed the coffin of June 12 result include Alhaji Adamu Ciroma who has served as Finance and Agriculture Minister. In fact, his wife has served as Women Affairs Minister under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. She has been Woman Leader of the ruling PDP and last month, she was appointed Managing Director of the Lokoja-based Nigeria Inland Water Ways Authority (NIWA). Chief Tony Anenih who was in 1993 Chairman of the victorious Party, the SDP, served in Obasanjo government in various capacities including Minister of Works and Housing, Chairman of the ruling PDP’s Board of Trustees for the second time and Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for the second time too. The only political actor then who signed the June 12 historic document “with reservations” under a tripartite committee set up to compromise the integrity of the best election in Nigeria’s history was Joe Nwod[/b]o, who has been Chairman of the ruling PDP too. ...
LIKE a festering wound that defies treatment and sticks out implacably, June 12 re-awakens sore memories of the nation’s political failure, injustice and inequity. Twenty years ago, on June 12, 1993, the nation’s political march being led by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola was halted. Abiola, affectionately called MKO, the initials of his names, won the presidential election of that date. But his victory was denied him by the then Military President Ibrahim Babangida. The nation again stood for him yesterday. It was the venue of where he made his famous Epetedo Declaration. The atmosphere was electrifying. Except for the physical absence of Abiola who his associates believed was present but unseen, attendance at the Epetedo multi-purpose hall, venue of the event to re-affirm their faith in the Epetedo Declaration, was similar to the one that graced the event 20 years ago. The occasion, co-ordinated by the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), famous for the unique role it played in e ...

TWO YEARS OF GOV AHMED IN KWARA (6) Unlike his abysmal response to education and water supply in Ilorin and rural areas, Gov Ahmed, must be commende for rapidly transforming the roads in most parts of the state. We note that nearly every nook and crany of Ilorin have been tarred just as rural roads have sprung up in many parts of the state. All the same we must add regretfully however, that no sooner are these roads were commissioned than they deteriorated. As a consequence of shoddy jobs potholes have become the lot of many roads, and many bridges have collapsed soon after their commissioning (like the Pipeline, Flower Garden and other places in Ilorin and villages). An observer informed us that Gov Ahmed and other mourners waded through more than 40 potholes on the Eruda Road off Taiwo on their way to the home of late Amasa Jiddah, himself a PDP and contractor. However, we must give this to Gov Ahmed: the Stadium Area - Yidi road is wonderful. Its bridge is solid and is most likely to last!

I am indeed very delighted to join the rest of the world to celebrate this year' World Environment Day 2013 (WED). The World Environment Day is set aside by the United Nations each year to increase public consciousness of the environment, with the ultimate aim to solving the challenges facing the environment. For us in Nigeria, year 2013 celebration is already unique for several reasons; this celebration almost smacks at the anniversary of one of the most difficult environmental year of our existence 2012, when our country experienced massive flooding that overran 1/3 of the country and severely impacted our people, our economy and we lost over 360 lives as a result. Never has the importance of enlightenment and public awareness on the environment been more important. The theme for this year's World environment day 2013 to be hosted by Mongolia is "Think. Eat. Save. Reduce your foodprint". This theme underscores the importance and the connection between our very survival as a people and the health of the ...

Some people written nonsense when they asked to comments on the performances of those in power now, e.g senetor s.s.Ajibola representing kwara south and senetor Bukola Saraki representing kwara central, you better says the truth and be rejected than tell lies just to be accepted, for supporting bad people in Kwara State, most especially in irepodun Local Government, you will end your life in *** FIRE.
Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, representing Kwara Central at upper house, took aoth of office at exactly 2years &'10days, he said i quote " AM GOING THERE TO FIGHT FOR THE INTEREST OF PEOPLE MY CONSTITUENCY" but the most surprising issue is that, this so called Senator, the former Governor of the State & leader nt only PDP member but entire Kwara, turn his promise & continue servung the entire people of the State.
