Matt Read and Braydon Coburn draw assists on goal from Akeson, his 2nd of the series
A man worth giving up Matt Read, Sean Couturier and Braydon Coburn and/ a first round pick for.
I wonder how Kevin Kevin Matuszak feels about this trade idea: Braydon Coburn or Andrej Meszaros and Sean Couturier and/or Matt Read for Keith Yandle and Mikael Boedker?
The Flames offered their 6th overall pick to the Flyers for Matt Read, Braydon Coburn, and the 11th overall. This trade sounds ridiculous to me. The Oilers and Flyers were talking Coburn for the 11th overall. The proposal from the Flames sounds ridiculous to me. -Chris
Flyers: Tim Pinnaccio is reporting that the Flames asking price for the 6th overall pick was Braydon Coburn, Matt Read, and the 11th overall pick.
Holmgren's been really entertaining the notion of the Flyers possibly moving up in the Draft on Sunday. "I like where we're at," Holmgren said. "I think we're going to get a good player at 11, but if you can move higher . . . If you get into the guys that you really like that you think are probably franchise players, you've probably got to get up to the top four." [Philly.com] That 4 spot is owned by Nashville. They're in no need of defense, so dangling Coburn or Meszaros in their face won't get us anywhere. They're absolutely in love with Bo Horvat (who isn't?), so Matt Read doesn't sound too appetizing either -- again, that's just speculating. Picks 2 and 3 won't come cheap in the slightest, and we'd probably wind up dealing too much to get them anyway. So, my eyes turn to Carolina's 5th Overall choice; a team in immediate need of a Top 4 NHL defenseman. My proposal would be this -- The Flyers 11th Overall pick & Braydon Coburn for the 5th Overall choice. MAYBE that could get it done, perhaps Carolina w ...
