Trade rumors are swirling as Colorado's RFA center, Ryan O'Reilly seems to be up for grabs. Two Eastern Conference contenders, Pittsburgh and NY Rangers, are reportedly interested. The price will be high for the unproven O'Reilly, but the Penguins feel the need to add a top 6 forward by the deadline. They are also reportedly interested with Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson, who may be on the block since everyone in Ottawa apparently is in danger of season-ending injury as of late. If any of these trades come to fruition, it may lead to a turning point in the season, but teams looking to deal for starters will have to pay a high price, with reports linking the Rangers giving up top 4 prospect Michael Del Zotto, the Penguins giving up Brandon Sutter, and the Bruins giving up David Krejci. All of these players seem too important for a slight (if any) upgrade, especially Krejci, who has been arguably the Bruins best player of the season so far.

Atlantic: The most free agent hype going on in any division was definitely the Atlantic division, whether it was Nash heading to NYR, Parise leaving NJ, PIT trading Staal and PHI almost landing Weber. I am really excited to have Brandon Sutter on Penguins roster. The Sutter family has a good history in the hockey world and success seems to follow them where-ever they go. Most definitely a jersey I will be picking up. Jordan Staal was much loved, and I appreciate what he did for us, but moving forward, I could not be more satisfied with a player of Brandon Sutter's abilities. I hope he feels welcome in the city, and as always, Let's Go Pens!
