I'm still a sore loser. Eric Fisher, Kansas City's Offensive Tackle was out and did not suit up for the game. Dual-threat all-pro tailback Jamaal Charles was lost to a concussion on the game's opening drive. Chiefs Receiver Donnie Avery and cornerback Brandon Flowers also suffered concussions. Finally, rookie running back Knile Davis, who scored two touchdowns in relief of Charles, was carted off in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. That is why I am not impressed with the Colts Comeback.
How do you lose a playoff football game? Kansas City led by as much as 38-10 early in the third quarter, but as key players — running backs Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis, wide receiver Donnie Avery, cornerback Brandon Flowers and outside linebacker Justin Houston all left the game with injuries — the Chiefs could not hold on.
The first since the immortal Bills comeback in the ’93 playoffs. The Chiefs looked primed to win their first playoff game in 20 years, the same as that Bills comeback, but brutal injuries to Jamaal Charles, Donnie Avery and Brandon Flowers, among others, did them in. Flowers may have been the most costly of all, as it completely exposed the Kansas City secondary. Unfortunately, the Colts don't see these circumstances as a gift. Instead, they believe they won on shear dominance rather than divine intervention. Oh well, it always makes the let down that much sweeter when hopes get higher.
Such is the plight of the Kansas City fan. Good season, guys. You pulled a city together. Don't let those dirty Colts ruin this season for you. Chuck Pagano coached to injure, clearly. Thank you, Chiefs. I mean that. Not as a sports franchise and not as winning team, but as a group of wonderful men. We'll get it next year. The game is so secondary to what you did this season. You broke records, you silenced the fans of every other team. I needed you all this year. I needed the weekly lift that watching y'all gave me. From Bowe's silly off-field hi-jinx, to Tamba tipping that girl a thousand bucks. Thank you. I know we'll lose some of y'all to trades in the off-season and others will get cut, but I want every single one of you back next year. Yes that includes the ever frustrating Brandon Flowers. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Enjoy the win Denver fans will take care of you in Kansas City. Still proud of the fight my boys put up. Manning may not have been shaken up but, the rest of the Broncos offense are licking some wounds. Guarantee you Wes Welker will remember Brandon Flowers especially since he rung his bell. The Chiefs offense even stepped up. So watch out Denver we will see you in a few weeks.
Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker was caught completely off-guard by Kansas City Chiefs corner Brandon Flowers in the first quarter on Sunday night. The shove sent Welker down quickly...
Dallas Cowboys @ Kansas City Chiefs Winner - Kansas City Chiefs This is a hard one to call, thus i wont be betting on it. I like both of these teams to win 9-10 games this year. Dallas are a few injuries away from having a bad season again, and Tony Romo's injury last season had to scare the living excrement out of the entire organization. However it's the DEFENCE that scares me. One injury to the secondary or linebackers and this team suddenly gets very weak at that position. Kansas City have great depth, great youth, and playmakers on defence. That's why i'm taking them. The matchup of Brandon Flowers vs Dez Bryant will be awesome in this game... As will Dontari Poe vs Dallas first round draft pick Frederick at centre. Plus it's REALLY hard to go into Kansas City and win. I like KC in a close, hard fought game. 27 - 25
WAAAHOO! Weddle on the list!!! Ranking the AFC West defensive backs By Bill Williamson Our AFC West 2013 positional rankings series marches on with a deep, strong group of defensive backs: 1. Eric Weddle, San Diego: He is everything you want in a safety. He is a complete player. 2. Eric Berry, Kansas City: With extended health, the sky is the limit for this special player. 3. Champ Bailey, Denver: He is 35, but he still is a high-impact player. 4. Brandon Flowers, Kansas City: Coaches and scouts around the league rave about this player. 5. Sean Smith, Kansas City: Big, athletic player should strive in Kansas City. 6. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Denver: Playing opposite Bailey should benefit this talent. 7. Tyvon Branch, Oakland: Having Charles Woodson on his side should take pressure off this solid player. 8. Dunta Robinson, Kansas City: Robinson’s versatility will help the Chiefs. 9. Derek Cox, San Diego: A solid player who was badly needed. 10. Charles Woodson, Oakland: He still has something left in ...
SO...here's where I see The Kansas City Chiefs in 2013: * Draft Luke Joekel with the first pick, and franchise Brandon Albert. Bookend tackles! * Trade for Alex Smith and draft EJ Manuel or Tyler Bray at in the 2nd round. Andy Reid is a WARLOCK when it comes to getting the best out of QB talent, and these moves give him a TON to work with. * Lock up Dwayne Bowe with a long-term deal. With the moves above, you have protection for a VASTLY improved QB who can now go down field to Bowe. * You STILL have Jamaal Charles (improved O-Line only helps him, and a strong run offense means you'll be even MORE successful in the passing game), Tony Moeaki (takes some pressure off of D. Bowe and a solid blocker on the line), Eric Berry & Brandon Flowers, Derrick Johnson, Dustin Colquitt and a pretty solid D-Line with Tamba Hali, Tyson Jackson and Dontari Poe clogging up the middle. * The Bronco Mannings are still the team to beat in the AFC West, but Kansas City is the Cinderella Story of the season and challen ...
The 49ers should trade Alex Smith & our first round pick for Percy Harvin - Go - Christian Ponder is real suspect and we wouldn't need to resign Ted Ginn or Moss, even though Moss would be great for another year - Or trade Alex Smith & a 2nd round for Antonio Cromartie of the Jets or Brandon Flowers of Kansas City to help improve our secondary -
Looks as if all these cornerbacks will be on the market soon, look for Kansas City to land one of them opposite of Brandon Flowers. Brent Grimes- Falcons, Sean Smith- Dolphins, Mike Jenkins- Cowboys, Dominique Rodgers- Cromartie- Eagles, Tracy Porter- Broncos, Quentin Jammer- Chargers, Aqib Talib- Patriots, Derek Cox- Jaguars ~ Ryan
Brah this Kansas City defence is relentless! Hali Flowers Berry Johnson
Thought the returns of LB Tamba Hali and CB Brandon Flowers would help Kansas City's defense look better. Not so much...
Chiefs counting on experienced defense ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have the personnel to put together a top-notch NFL defense. Even better for the Chiefs, many of the players have experience at key positions. Of the 11 projected starters, eight have spent multiple seasons with the Chiefs. The players won’t shy away from the expectations of being part of a defense prepared to carry Kansas City back to the postseason. “We have confidence,” Chiefs defensive end Glenn Dorsey said. “We have a lot of guys coming back, a lot of guys got healthy. We want to build on what we did last year. We feel like we had the right guys in the right places.” Eight of those players account for the majority of the experience: linebacker Tamba Hali (95 starts), linebacker Derrick Johnson (93), defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey (61), cornerback Brandon Flowers (59), linebacker Jovan Belcher (34), defensive lineman Tyson Jackson (31), safety Kendrick Lewis (26) and safety Eric Berry (26). Berry’s torn A ...
Chiefs Super Bowl Champs 2012. This is how, defense needs to be a top-five unit, preferably No. 1. For the season, I'd expect a takeaway/giveaway differential of plus-8. For the Super Bowl win, I'd need Tamba Hali and Brandon Flowers to cement the turnover battle. I'd like at least four turnovers. Hey, Ryan Succop! I need no less than three field goals. Charles, Hillis and the defense will handle the rest. And like that, Kansas City can win a Super Bowl!
You'll be great in Kansas City. There is a legit number one there in Brandon Flowers. Not your fault youre too short.
