DRACULA Calls Our Bluff By Alan Lance Andersen For most of English and American history, no one had ever heard of vampires. Then in 1897, the manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, an actor distantly related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, published a book based on wild tales of the Carpathian Mountains he had been told by a Hungarian globetrotter named Àrmin Vambéry. After years of research into the darker side of Eastern European legends and folklore, Bram Stoker wrote a groundbreaking novel in the form of epistepistolary letters, notebooks, and diaries surrounding the life (or should we say "death" ?) of a Romanian nobelman vampire named Dracula. The character of Count Dracula from the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, has remained popular over the years. Little did Stoker realize that he was unleashing on the world a genre of monster stories that would involve into scary theatre, motion pictures, television shows, and other forms of literature that would eventually include vampires, werewolves, mummie ...

I'm watching Bram Stoker's Dracula free on for iOS
I liked a video from Keanu Reeves on the set of the film "Bram Stoker's Dracula" 1992
I was watching Bram Stoker's Dracula last night, and noticed Keanu Reeves stars in that movie. I'm not sure if there are quote's from that movie that are note worthy. Brushing up on my Keanu quotes now.
I watching one of my mother's favorite movies, Bram Stoker's Dracula. I love Gary Oldman in this movie, looking like a pimp! ;)
Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves (playing an englishman with a dudebro accent) is a very odd movie.
I wonder how Dario Argento's Dracula will compare with Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula cause I'm about to find out.
The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole. The Castle of Otranto is a 1764 novel by Horace Walpole. It is generally regarded as the first gothic novel, initiating a literary genrewhich would become extremely popular in the later 18th century and early 19th century. Thus, Walpole, by extension, is arguably the forerunner to such authors as Charles Maturin, Ann Radcliffe, Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe and Daphne du Maurier.

The county of Hertfordshire in England is world famous for being the site of a complex of film and television production studios commonly known as ‘Elstree Studios.’ Production facilities were first built in the town of Elstree-and-Borehamwood in 1925 , and were operated by the Associated British Pictures Corporation. The studio was commandeered by the military with the outbreak of World War II in 1939, but was reopened for commercial film after the war. 33rd Degree Freemason Jack Warner then bought a 25% share in the complex and the studios became a hotbed of both British and American film-making. Beginning in 1959, the legendary British firm Hammer Films also used the Elstree Studios for their string of classic comedies and horror films, including the seminal ancient astronaut epicQuatermass and the Pit, the Bram Stoker adaptation Blood from the Mummy’s Tomb and The Satanic Rites of Dracula, which seemed to have an enormous impact on the work of David Icke, among others.
There is video on the internet of the Bram Stoker Award ceremony. It demonstrates why I do not like being in front of a camera.
So I'm watching the season premier of Penny Dreadful, which already shows tons of promise with its connections to classic horror novels (Bram Stoker fans would love this show) and I realize that Billie Piper is one of the main characters. Take my life, Penny Dreadful, just have it.
Vlad the Impaler the Inspiration Behind Count Dracula vampires are often associated with Christianity (vampires are said to be repelled by holy objects such as crucifixes and holy water), the belief in these creatures, or beings with vampiric qualities, has been held since ancient times. In Ancient Greece and Rome, for instance, there are stories about beings that return from the dead to drink the blood of the living. In 1897 AD, Bram Stoker, an Irish writer, wrote a novel called Dracula, which has since become one of the classics of the Gothic horror genre. Despite the fact that Dracula is a fictional character, it should be said that Stoker did not pull him out of thin air. Instead, Dracula is believed to be based on a real, historical figure, though how much of a vampire he was will be decided by the readers. More
I think Jonathan Harker is the main character of Bram Stoker's Dracula, the book explains more about him than the Count Dracula himself.
sabrinaparolin - Sadie Frost as Lucy in Bram Stoker's Dracula ( Francis Ford Coppola )
Jack Palance, Nigel Davenport, Fiona Lewis. Palance plays an exceptionally evil Dracula in this made-for-TV version of Bram Stoker's classic vampire tale drawn from the great macabre collection of Dan Curtis. Born Rauff de Ryther Daun Acklom in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on this day in 1902 (sometimes listed as 1900 or 1905), David Manners became one of the leading Hollywood actors of the 1930s, playing opposite the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck, Kay Francis and Constance Bennett. Claiming descent from William the Conqueror, Manners was indeed from well-to-do stock; the family tree of his mother, Lilian Manners, included Lady Diana Cooper and the Duke of Rutland, while the Ackloms included the writers Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, W H Homing and Morley Aklom. It is his role as John Harker in Universal’s 1931 production of Dracula, opposite Bela Lugosi, for which he will be most remembered. Drastically cut down from the Bram Stoker novel, with many of the character’s seminal lines being given over to Renfield in a bizarre plot swap, Manners still manages to efficate a smouldering leading man. Ironically, his birthday coincides with the date upon which his Dracula co-star, Helen Chandler, died.
20th April 1653 Oliver Cromwell dissolved the Rump Parliament. It had followed the Long Parliament that had governed during the Civil War. 1657 The Spanish Fleet was destroyed in the Battle at Santa Cruz by an English Fleet commanded by Admiral Blake. 1689 The siege of Londonderry began when supporters of James II attacked the city. The population nearly starved to death before the siege was raised on 30th July. 1879 The first mobile home (horse-drawn) was used in a journey from London to Cyprus. 1912 The Irish-born writer Bram Stoker, author of Count Dracula, died at his London home. He was 65. Whitby was the inspiration for his novel. 1924 The birth of Leslie Phillips, CBE and English actor with a highly recognisable 'upper class accent'. Originally known for his work as a comedy actor playing English stereotypes in the Carry On films and the Doctor series, Phillips subsequently made the transition to character roles. 1949 The Badminton Horse Trials were held for the first time, at Badminton, Gloucester ...

Me too!Breaking Bad is the best show ever! I also like Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Villains are much more interesting
Was wondering if there's any other actors more sexier than Gary Oldman as Count Vlad Dracul in Bram Stoker's Dracula?... Gahhh! Takde kottt... :P
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" is a 1992 American -- what the frak is it? It's not scary, it's not erotic, and it's not dramatic. It is by Francis Ford Coppola, and stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, Winona Ryder as Mina Harker, Anthony Hopkins as Professor Abraham Van Helsing, Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker, Richard E. Grant as Dr. Seward, Cary Elwes as Arthur Holmwood, Billy Campbell as Quincey Morris, Sadie Frost as Lucy Westenra, and Tom Waits as Renfield. It is, however, Bob Gutowski's favorite film of all time. One he just loves so much he wants to marry the videotape. :)
Some of my poetry is inspired by the works of... Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, Bram Stoker, Henry James, Oscar Wilde, and Robert Louis Stevenson.
