ENGLAND have made two changes to their squad for Sunday’s RBS 6 Nations match against Wales at Twickenham Stadium. Ben Morgan (Gloucester Rugby, right) replaces the injured Billy Vunipola at No 8 to win his 19th cap, with Exeter Chiefs’ Tom Johnson coming on to the replacements’ bench. England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: “Ben has made an impact off the bench in the previous games. He has been pushing hard for the No 8 shirt and now gets his opportunity so we are looking forward to seeing him from the start. Tom has been outstanding for Exeter Chiefs and gives us options off the bench as he has played in all three backrow positions for his club. “We can’t wait to play at home again. The players have said that the atmosphere at Twickenham for the Ireland game was the best they had experienced and I am sure it will be the same again on Sunday. It definitely gives us an extra lift and that’s what we want against another experienced, high quality side, who are looking to defend their title ...

England v Ireland: Ireland player ratings February 24, 2014 15. Rob Kearney: 8.5 Both fullbacks were heavily involved in their sides’ attacking threat, and while it was Brown on the winning team, Kearney scored Ireland’s only try in the 42nd minute, picking a perfect line through the English defence and rounding his opposite number to dot down underneath the posts. 14. Andrew Trimble: 6.5 Making the most of his ‘last chance saloon’, Trimble threatened the line on a couple of occasions but English scramble defence just covered in time. His kick chase is world class, but over eagerness led to the concession of an unnecessary penalty by straying offside at a ruck. 13. Brian O’Driscoll: 8 His 139th international and 63rd in the Six Nations ended in disappointment but O’Driscoll had his best game of the championship so far, starting with real intent to take the game to Twelvetrees and Burrell in the English midfield. 12. Gordon D’Arcy: 7.5 Defeat at Twickenham ended any hopes of an Irish Grand Sl ...
England v Ireland: England player ratings February 24, 2014 15. Mike Brown: 9 For a man who has been consistently excellent in an England shirt, this was another level up. Brown did not put a foot wrong, making metres every time he gathered the ball, ending with 82 made in total and beating five defenders along the way. His role in England’s try saw him join the line (something his detractors say he must do more of) to take a brilliant pass from Robshaw, before successfully drawing two defenders and sending Danny Care in under the posts. Superlatives roll off the tongue, and rightly so. 14. Jack Nowell: 6 A thoroughly mixed bag for Nowell. There were glimpses of what he can do as he carried the ball menacingly on occasion, but never managed to get away from the defence. And then there were the silly errors, such as the dropped hight ball under very little pressure. Cut those out, and he will be a good international player – but he must do so soon. 13. Luther Burrell: 7 Another reasonably quiet game fr ...
Sportvantgarde's blog.: Rugby:England number eight Billy Vunipola to have scan on ankle injury
Six Nations 2014: England out to exorcise Wales spirit after beating Irish • We are growing in confidence, says Stuart Lancaster • Joe Launchbury 'is unassuming but a *** of a player' Almost the best thing about England's stirring victory on Saturday is the delicious sense of anticipation it uncorks. There will be no grand slams in this year's Six Nations but Wales' visit to south-west London on Sunday week cannot come quickly enough for both tribes. If it is half as good as this outstanding contest, a proper Test in every sense, not even the losers will complain too loudly. Ireland can also still collect the title if they recover from this psychological jolt and see off Italy and France. Whoever ends up on top of the table, however, this was a highly significant outcome for England and an indication of the growing character within Stuart Lancaster's young squad. As recently as three weeks ago they were losing tight games such as this, some core skills faltering under pressure. There was, consequentl ...

Billy vunipola will under go scan on ankle ligaments tomorrow..
England 13-10 Ireland 22 February 2014 Updated 18:29 By Tom Fordyce - Chief sports writer England ended Ireland's Triple Crown ambitions and blew the Six Nations title race wide open as they fought back to edge one of the great Twickenham battles. Rob Kearney's beautifully worked try had given Ireland a seven-point lead early in the second half before Danny Care replied with a thrilling score of his own to steal it back. Owen Farrell, who had earlier notched two penalties, then landed the conversion before a titanic final quarter saw both sides reduced to stumbling exhaustion by the relentless pace. With both teams attacking in waves against remorseless defences, Ireland could not work the break nor penalty they needed as the seconds ran out. It meant there would be no happy ending for the peerless Brian O'Driscoll - in his record-equalling 139th Test - on his last appearance at this stadium, and no second Grand Slam with which to garland his final season. But for England - beaten at the death by France a ...
I would much rather get battered by Billy Vunipola than write this essay.
Billy Vunipola is that bored he has had today down.
35 mins England 3-0 Ireland Jonny May with a zig-zagging run, here's Nowell tip-toeing the other way. Men outside him, but one of them is Hartley. Billy Vunipola is down, looks like he's twisted his ankle. Doesn't look good, head in hands, Ben Morgan is on as his replacement.
I'm not entirely convinced that the commentator meant to say Billy Vunipola was a "nice, egregious fella".

Six Nations Key Clash Preview: England v Ireland February 21, 2014 This is a potentially championship-defining weekend in the 2014 Six Nations. Should both currently unbeaten sides, Ireland and France, win again, the competition is effectively over. Whilst mathematically England or Wales could catch either of them, it would take a monumental turnaround in fortunes, given that one of Ireland or France would have to lose to one of the wooden spoon candidates, Italy or Scotland. Before everyone’s head starts to hurt too much from the maths, let’s look ahead to Saturday’s salivating encounter at Twickenham. England The hosts have, for the first time in a while, a settled look about them. That said, a crucial cog in the big white machine has had to be replaced, as Dan Cole is ruled out for the rest of the season. Whether he has been overplayed or not, Ireland will be looking to get into his undercooked replacement Davey Wilson, in the hope that they can bring down what has thus far been an impressive uni ...

Billy Vunipola wants to play his part in helping England beat Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday and the Australian-born back row is happy to turn to his granddad and Tina Turner for inspiration.

Impressive! 500m on the Watt bike in 24 seconds. Not a member of an Olympic track cycle team but a 21 stone Rugby player. Billy Vunipola would actually be in 1st place on the Watt challenge with his time had he bothered to log it and could probably make the British cycle sprint team with some coaching and a very strong bike.
England revive title hopes ahead of Ireland tie Sun, 09 Feb | 15:55 Stuart Lancaster © Gallo Images England's comfortable win over Scotland has put them back in contention to win the Six Nations championship, according to coach Stuart Lancaster, but their credentials will face a much tougher test in the next game against leaders Ireland. England recovered from last weekend's last-gasp defeat by France to dominate a woeful Scotland side, a 20-0 scoreline failing to reflect their superiority at Murrayfield The forward pack, led by dynamic No 8 Billy Vunipola and Dylan Hartley's accurate performance at hooker, kept Scotland at arm's length and the backline showed intelligence in conditions not suited to running rugby. "We have put ourselves in contention for the championship," Lancaster said. "Some of our attacking play was excellent considering the difficult conditions and the only disappointment was that we did not score more points in a second half we dominated having led 13-0 at the interval." The clash ...
Here is Jonathan Davies's Six Nations fantasy team. Can I see right. NO WELSH players. Jonathan, there must be something wrong usually he is quite biased to the welsh. Maybe he is embarrassed from the terrible lose wales had on the weekend. Mike Brown (England) ANDREW TRIMBLE (Ireland) Luther Burrell (England) WESLEY FOFANA (France) JONNY MAY (England) JONNY SEXTON (Ireland) Danny Care (England) CIAN HEALY (Ireland) Dylan Hartley (England) MARTIN CASTROGIOVANNI (Italy) PAUL O'CONNELL (Ireland) COURTNEY LAWES (England) PETER O'MAHONY (Ireland) Chris Robshaw (England) BILLY VUNIPOLA (England) Whats your fantasy team?
Another solid performance from Billy Vunipola on Saturday, and what a legacy;.
If taking out basically a mortgage to pay for two tickets to see England beat Scotland doesn't say love, I don't know what does! Had such a great day as Chris Robshaw is beautiful, Billy Vunipola is a walking bus and off course England won.. Twickenham 2015, Chris?? :D
A few observations: England aren't anywhere near clinical enough, and rely on driving mauls far too much. Tom Youngs cannot play international rugby. Billy Vunipola is the real deal. Scotland are rather negative, as rugby teams go. The booing of kickers (of any nationality) has no place in the game. The Ossett Hole Field of Dreams is a better surface to play on than Murrayfield. That was a heck of a win, all things considered.
Billy Vunipola has beasted the Scots today.
Absolutely bossing the scots! Billy Vunipola is some player..i reckon every carry tonight he has made he has beaten the first tackler! Awesome
Im sorry but billy vunipola is class!
Rewatching the England France game. Nyanga and Picamoles were awesome for the French. As was their full back. Lots of possitives for England though. Danny Care gave his best perfomance by a mile. Burrell did well on debut. Lawes was absolutely immense in attack and defence. Brown was class again. Not totally convinced by Billy Vunipola though and Goode does not belong at this level at all.
First of all, why are England finishing games with their weakest team on the field? When the top five teams in the world play each other, there is a 90 per cent chance that with 20 minutes left to play the score will be within five points. England conceded the final try with substitute Alex Goode at full back, sub Brad Barritt (an inside centre) at outside centre and centre Luther Burrell on the wing. Joe Marler was having one of his best games; Danny Care was the catalyst for England's comeback; Dylan Hartley was still launching himself into rucks; and Billy Vunipola was providing crucial yards over the gainline. They were all taken off with significant time remaining. Yes, substitutes Ben Morgan and Tom Youngs had an impact, but when you make changes you can lose your leadership, attacking structure, defensive organisation and composure. Changes should be made for fatigue, injury or tactics. Secondly, who is making the decisions? I saw a string of coaches running up and down the stairs trying to commun ...
The opening match result for England in the Six Nations at the Parc de Stade in Paris ,was always going to be dependent on the temperament of the underrated French Team, whom had not played at their best in the championship in 2013. The end to end scintillating wide and expansive forward play, for England saw a battered team 16-3 down at half-time, pull themselves together to batter France with an excellent opportunistic try by Mike Brown and force the conversions by Owen Farrell in the second half. England looked hungry enough to *** a result with a leading 19-24 with only minutes left. It proved decisive that the French resolve aided by the oval rugby ball lead to superlative tries for Yoann Huget and a masterly winning try by the substitute Gael Fickou gave the `Cockerels' victory 26-24 in this entertainment spectacle : with no cigar for England. I thought that England played well with Danny Care and Billy Vunipola and new cap Luther Burrell (try scorer) outstanding and all will play with less veno ...
France stun England after late try 01 February 2014, 21:18 France snatched a thrilling 26-24 Six Nations victory over England on Saturday thanks to a late converted try by Gael Fickou at the Stade de France. Replacement Fickou broke free on the left wing to cross the line with three minutes left, denying England a famous comeback victory after they had battled back superbly from a 13-point deficit. France, desperate to erase memories of last year's championship when they managed only one victory, stunned England when winger Yoann Huget touched down for the first try after 30 seconds. Huget increased the French advantage with a second try 17 minutes later before three points from Owen Farrell's boot and a Mike Brown try five minutes before halftime gave England hope. The rampaging Billy Vunipola continued to cut through the French defence early in the second half and England deservedly nosed ahead when he set up debutant centre Luther Burrell for the visitors' second try. Danny Care's drop goal made it 21- ...
Billy Vunipola & Danny Care have been outstanding. Vunipola has been a tank all day and care a constant threat. Everyone else have just been passengers!!
Six Nations 2014 Preview: England January 29, 2014 Home ground: Twickenham, London Head coach: Stuart Lancaster Strengths England’s great strength in the past year has been their pack. The biggest positive to come out of the Autumn Series was a consolidation of a unit that proved itself to be amongst the best in the world – the only shame is that it didn’t get to test itself against the bona fide best, South Africa. Real strength in depth is starting to appear. Aside from tighthead, scratch the surface and you will find several layers of quality players. In the front row, Lions Mako Vunipola and Tom Youngs could well find themselves starting on the bench, while the youthful hunger of Jamie George and Nathan Catt is starting to knock on the door too. From the front to the back-row, and the combination of Robshaw and Wood on the flanks is beautifully blended, while at number eight Billy Vunipola will wrestle with Ben Morgan for the starting shirt. In fact, the rudder of the scrum is probably most secu ...

England! Battered and humiliated after their thumping in the Millennium Stadium against Wales at the close of the Six Nations, England have turned their 2013 around since March with a run of four wins and a single loss to the All Blacks at Twickenham. Three of those four wins came against Argentina - two in South America and one back in south-west London - as Stuart Lancaster's mission to build greater depth to his squad ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup continued. Shorn of a total of 12 players to the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia by the time Brad Barritt, Billy Twelvetrees and Christian Wade had been flown out (and not including Dylan Hartley's suspension), Lancaster was able to let the likes of Marland Yarde, Kyle Eastmond, Billy Vunipola and more get a taste of Test rugby against the Pumas in their own backyard. Winning the a Test series in Argentina for the first time in 32 years is not an accomplishment to be sniffed at. The tour was also a chance for Lancaster to let the likes of Chris ...
Casj walking past Billy Vunipola again in Morrisons LOL
